IMK announces cash prize for anyone who kicks actor Vijay Sethupathi for insulting Muthuramalinga Thevar

The Indu Makkal Katchi in Tamil Nadu has announced that it would provide cash prize for anyone who kicks film actor Vijay Sethupathi who had allegedly insulted freedom fighter and nationalist icon Muthuramalinga Thevar.

The tweet posted by Indu Makkal Katchi said that the party would provide ₹1001/- per kick to anyone who kicked Vijay Sethupathi until he apologized for insulting Muthuramalinga Thevar.

This tweet comes in the light of a video of a man attacking film actor Vijay Sethupathi at the Bengaluru airport which went viral. Many had attributed different reasons but the man who had attacked the actor, revealed himself in a YouTube channel and said that the actor had sarcastically commented on India being a nation and Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar.

The man named Maha Gandhi was apparently a co-passenger of Vijay Sethupathi in the flight and had congratulated the actor on winning the National Award.

But Vijay Sethupathi had allegedly replied in a sarcastic manner saying “Is this is a nation?”. He had also asked if the actor had paid a visit to Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar’s samadhi/statue on the occassion of Guru Pooja (the birth-cum-death anniversary of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar). For this, Vijay Sethupathi had apparently asked who is Guru?

It is not clear if Vijaysethupathi said this but Maha Gandhi tells that the actor apparently told him that the one he is referring is a ‘Jewish carpenter’ (Jesus) and not Muthuramalinga Thevar.

Maha Gandhi also says that this resulted in a heated argument and was attacked later by two of Vijay Sethupathi’s men when he was collecting the luggage. He said that he attacked only in return which was caught in camera of a by-stander.

He added that he is waiting for the CCTV footage so that people can know what the truth is.

Controversial actor Vijay Sethupathi has of late been resorting to virtue signalling to grab limelight after back-to-back flops.

His latest film ‘Laabam’, a Communist cringe-fest which was released immediately after the reopening of theatres bombed at the box office.
