Hindu Temple Vandalised In Pathanamthitta, Suspect Arrested by Police

The serene atmosphere of Madhumala Moolasthana Malanada Temple was shattered when miscreants vandalised the sacred site. Aranmula police arrested a local resident, Pezhumkat Jose, in connection with the break-in and acts of destruction that occurred at the temple in Panchayat 4th ward.

The lamp around the temple was found destroyed and the tiles were also smashed. In addition, eight stone lamps were ruthlessly smashed by the culprits.

The shocking incident came to light when individuals who arrived at the temple on Monday, 31 July 2023, to install the lamp discovered the devastation. They promptly informed the Aranmula police, who immediately initiated an investigation. Fingerprint experts were called to the scene to gather evidence and assist in identifying the culprits.

The incident has sparked outrage among the local community, with members of Hindu Aikyavedi protesting against the violence perpetrated by anti-social elements on the temple premises. During the protest, Taluk President K Shashi, District Working President Raghavan Nair, Secretary Manoj Kojanchery, along with Mohandas, Hari Ilantur, and others participated in the protest.
