Has DMK Stooge Kamal Haasan Appointed MNM Workers To Threaten Audience Who Give Negative Reviews For Thug Life?

Following the underwhelming performance of Kamal Haasan’s latest film Thug Life, instead of accepting the obvious criticism, the DMK-stooge allegedly resorted to cheap theatrics deploying party-linked MNM functionaries to theaters to intimidate audiences and suppress negative reviews.

One such incident is said to have occurred on the film’s third day, where viewers openly mocked the movie. Unable to handle the backlash, the functionary reportedly doubled down absurdly defending Dravidianists Kamal Haasan and Suriya. Shockingly, he even called for banning YouTube reviews, as if censorship could salvage the film’s failure.

The alleged MNM Functionary said, “I’ve been watching movies since I was 9 years old from the era of old black-and-white films. Back then, there were no YouTube channels, movies ran successfully. Many films celebrated silver jubilees, and then he gave several trendsetting hits. But nowadays, there are some wicked individuals trying to sabotage movies. If the Chief Minister orders a ban on YouTube tomorrow, every movie will start doing well again.”

The female anchor responded angrily after his baseless accusation, “But even good films are being praised on YouTube. ‘Tourist Family’ was a small-budget movie and it still got a good response.”

The MNM functionary refused to accept it and replied, “Sasikumar is facing financial issues. His performance in that film was average. When ‘Tourist Family’ released, no other major film was out at the time, so people had no choice but to watch it. That’s why it did well.”

Another anchor countered, “Suriya film was also released then.” The MNM functionary replied, “Do not confront with Suriya. Suriya is an outstanding performer. We shouldn’t speak about him. Even Sasikumar is a fan of Kamal sir, so I don’t want to blame him too. But what I’m saying ‘Tourist Family’ ran solo. Had it released now, it wouldn’t have been successful.”

The female anchor got annoyed and asked, “Now ‘Thug Life’ has released as a solo. Will it run successfully?” The MNM functionary confidently said, “Yes, definitely.” The anchor challenged, “Do you know that since yesterday, except for Rohini Theatre, there were no 9 PM shows? The shows were canceled because tickets hadn’t been booked for a whole week.”

The MNM functionary responded, “That’s the work of wicked. During the audio launch, he clearly said, ‘I’ve made a good film and I have faith in you. My next film depends on this.’ Ladies will come here after and they like Kamal sir much. Kamal sir has a strong female fan base. The women will start coming soon. You shouldn’t judge a movie by its first three days. Have you heard of the film ‘Maithili En Kathali’? It didn’t perform well in the first week. But from the 8th day, it picked up. I don’t know if you know this, but I do. I’m 61 years old. It became a success in the second week. The same will happen here. After a week, the ‘ladies rowdy’ group will come in and turn it into a huge hit. The movie is already a success, but I’m telling you, you will soon see an overwhelming crowd. I’m warning that person khaki shirt or a red shirt — if you give good reviews, you’ll exist. If you give bad review, you cease to be. YouTube should be banned. If the public/Makkal (Kamal) demands it, the CM will take action and ban it.”

One of the moviegoers, likely a college student, was giving a negative review of the film to a YouTube channel, calling it a waste of time and criticizing its lack of plot. As he expressed his frustration, an MNM official stepped in, trying to silence him. However, this only angered the student further—he retorted that he was already annoyed by the terrible movie and now was being forced to defend it, even though it was clearly not worth watching.

The Student said, “We didn’t expect much—we came just to see if it would be good or not. He was trying to explain the story, but I told him not to tell the story. But the movie was bad—what are we supposed to do now?”

MNM Official interrupting said, “The movies that were released long back, there were many movies. But you’re just simply saying it’s bad.”

Student annoyingly replied, “I’m not saying it lightly. I purchased a ₹220 ticket, so I will say it. It was a mistake to come watch this movie. I’m already upset after watching through it, and now you’re making me question why we saw it, even why we are here!”

The MNM functionary then lectured the student, arguing that he shouldn’t criticize the film—especially since it had a massive ₹300 crore budget and lamented that such negative remarks could harm its success.
