Gunmen who attacked Karachi stock exchange shot dead

Four gunmen who attacked the Karachi stock exchange on Monday morning and killed three people including a policeman were shot down by Pakistani security personnel. 7 others were also injured in this attack. Notably, the building is in a high-security zone, which also contains the head offices of several banks.

In a statement released by the Karachi police, they had said that modern automatic weapons and explosive materials have been recovered from the scene of the crime and that investigation was underway. This act was strongly condemned by several political fronts including a statement by the Governor of Sindh province, Imran Ismail.

It was reported that the gunmen armed with grenades and rifles launched an attack and attempted to enter the PSX premises. Most people were evacuated in time and the staff had taken refuge inside locked rooms.

The Baloch Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for this attack. They have been fighting for a separate homeland for quite some time.
