Facebook Page Of DMK’s Official Mouthpiece Murasoli Uploads Pornography In Its Status

Murasoli is the official mouthpiece of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). It was started by the late DMK patriarch Karunanidhi.

The Facebook page of Murasoli was caught uploading sleazy, pornographic material in its status.

Although there has been no clarification on who uploaded pornographic material in the official Facebook page of the DMK mouthpiece, it is expected that it the party would come out with a statement saying that the “account has been hacked”. There has been no response from the DMK or Murasoli until the time of publishing this article.

It is note worthy to remember that BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai had once called Murasoli a toilet paper.

Meanwhile, many on social media have expressed disgust and have unleashed a flurry of meme over the episode.

The mouthpiece cannot wash their hands off this by claiming it to be unofficial facebook or fake account as the website redirects to this page only.When one visits the Murasoli website, upon clicking the FB link in the top right-hand corner of the website, you get redirected to the page bearing the URL – https://www.facebook.com/murasoli180 .

This is not the first time that DMK or its party members have been associated with pornography.

In 2020, a DMK IT Wing office bearer from Thirupatthur district, Ajith, was arrested for sending explicit material to a 17-year-old girl and sharing manipulated images of himself with her. Ajith, son of Ponnusaamy from Mittalam village near Ambur, serves as a DMK IT Wing panchayat coordinator. Earlier, he faced charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for abducting a minor girl from the same area and was recently released on bail. Following his release, he repeated similar actions with another 17-year-old girl, leading to his arrest on charges of violating the POCSO Act and issuing death threats to a witness.

A.J. Manikkanan, an MLA representing Ulundurpettai in Kallakuruchi district, Tamil Nadu, found himself embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that his Twitter account had liked pornographic posts. Screenshots of the MLA’s Twitter activity, which allegedly included liking explicit and inappropriate content from various accounts, were widely circulated on social media. In response, the MLA claimed that his account had been hacked and reported the issue to Twitter Support. He also urged followers to disregard any likes and comments from his account. Subsequently, it was observed that Manikkanan’s Twitter handle had been removed from the platform.

In 2016, Tirupattur DMK MLA, K.R. Periyakaruppan was in the news owing to a viral obscene video in which he was found in a compromising position with another woman. The video, circulating on social media for over four days, had triggered anger among women in the constituency. During a campaign event, women in Erumapatti village pointed at Periyakaruppan, referring to him as ‘the man in the video,’ indicating the virality of the video.
