DMK hooligans harass woman who questioned MK Stalin in Gram Sabha meet

DMK chief M.K. Stalin while participating in a Gram Sabha meet in Coimbatore on Saturday (January 2) abused a lady and asked her to be sent out of the venue for questioning him. Later, the DMK men harassed and attacked the woman as the police escorted her to a vehicle for safety.

Stalin who is on a campaign trail titled ‘We Reject ADMK’ had come to Devarayapuram in Coimbatore district to participate in a Gram Sabha meet. A woman identified as V. Poongodi (40) raised up to ask a question to the DMK chief to which he asked her where she was from. The woman replied that she was from Sugunapuram near Kuniyamuthur. Stalin asked if whether her area falls in Devarayapuram. The woman then asked how the DMK chief was holding the meeting without even knowing this information. As the women kept insisting that Stalin answer her questions, the DMK chief said alleged that alleged that AIADMK Minister S P Velumani had sent her to create nuisance. He asked his cadres to throw her out of the venue and be handed over to the police. Some of the men present in the venue charged at the woman to attack her as she raised slogans against DMK and M.K. Stalin.

This had caused a stir among the members assembled there.

As she was being escorted by police to the vehicle, many DMK cadres hounded and harassed the woman, leading to a woman police officer getting hurt. Later it was found that she is the district deputy president of AIADMK women wing.
