DMK files complaint against popular vlogger and activist Maridhas

Cadres of the DMK have filed a complaint against popular vlogger and social media activist Maridhas for releasing a video that talks about Karunanidhi and his family’s corruption over the years.

The video titled “Why do people call Karunanidhi, the father of corruption? A full analysis” was released by Maridhas on Sunday morning. The video has already clocked more than 40 thousand views in 12 hours.

Maridhas in his Twitter page announced that a case has been filed against him by DMK cadres. He added that they are welcome to file cases against him if they are able to prove that whatever he had shared in his video were false.

This is not the first time Maridhas, a vocal critic of the DMK, has been facing cases filed against him by the party. Earlier in April 2020, the Tamil Nadu police booked him for a video on Tablighi Jamaat. In August 2019, the DMK again filed cases under section 505 (2) of IPC [Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report] and Information Technology Act for his video “Should DMK be banned“, that was critical of the party.
