With the increasing attacks by the Opposition, Andhra Government led by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed police department to secure religious worship places. The state police department has already initiated the process of calling priests and religious heads across the state to be vigilant and fix surveillance cameras in churches, temples, mosques and others.
With the increasing attack on Hindu temples starting from a fire incident at the Antarvedi Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in the state’s East Godavari district, CM Jagan is on backfoot with numerous grass roots organization calling out the ineffectiveness of State Govt in protecting Temples. NDA leaders and workers led a one day fast on the call of Jana Sena President Pawan Kalayan. BJP Andhra leadership is also working on the ground to mobilize people on the issues of attacks on Hindu temple and traditions.
In Prakasam and West Godavari districts, like all others, the policemen personally visited temples, churches and mosques, suggesting safety measures to the clergy as well as locals. A Prakasam police official said the department is keeping 24×7 vigil at all places of worship across the district.
“We are taking it very seriously on the ground. We are ensuring that no opportunity is given and everything is attended to promptly on ground, responded to promptly and no opportunity is given to exploit this situation,” Prakasam Superintendent of Police (SP), Siddharth Kaushal, told IANS, who is recovering from Wuhan virus.
He said police are also monitoring social media to look for trouble makers. With Andhra Government turning blind eye on proselytization activities of Christian NGOs, CM Jagan has led State politics to unnecessary polarization on the basis of region which has never happened in Andhra Pradesh. TDP Leader Former CM Chandrababu Naidu aslo called out bluff of State Government against attack on Hindu temples.
