Karnataka Mandya Ganesh Visarjan Violence ‘Pre-Planned’: BJP Fact Finding Panel

Karnataka Mandya Ganesh Visarjan Violence 'Pre-Planned': BJP Fact Finding Panel

Karnataka BJP fact-finding committee on violence during the Ganesh Visarjan idol immersion in Mandya district on Friday claimed that the incident was pre-planned and the riots occurred due to “appeasement politics” of the Congress government.

The committee, headed by BJP MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister C. N. Ashwath Narayan, submitted its report on Mandya Ganesh Visarjan incident to BJP state president and MLA B. Y. Vijayendra.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, Ashwath Narayan said, “The accused had worn masks and were carrying petrol bombs. All these things imply that the incident was pre-planned. The same specific shops were targeted for the third time, and set on fire in town.

Petrol was supplied for the petrol bombs from a specific petrol pump. Nagamangala has become a hideout for absconding criminals, anti-social elements, and traitors. It is also a hub for banned Popular Front of India (PFI) activities, where narcotic substances are being stored,” he alleged. “How, despite the ban, PFI functioning was allowed. It shows police failure,” he remarked.

Politics of hatred is being carried out in the state. There have been assaults on eight police personnel. Despite that, no Medico-Legal Case (MLC) has been registered,” claimed Ashwath Narayan. Cases have been registered against innocent people, he said. Ashwath Narayan said that cases against the accused have been withdrawn for votes.

Around 25-30 people were on the main road when the riot occurred. Police failure and appeasement are visible,” said Ashwath Narayan.

During our administration, there were no riots during the Ganesh festival. But now, riots have occurred in nearly ten places across the state. Provocation has taken place without any reason. Their elected representatives are threatening to create a situation like Bangladesh and storm the Governor’s office,” he stated.

Members of the Committee Former minister K.C. Narayan Gowda, BJP state secretary Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda, retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao, and party leader were present during the media briefing.

YSRCP Leader Arrested In Mumbai-based Actress Harassment Case

Vijayawada Police on Friday arrested YSR Congress Party leader Kukkala Vidyasagar following a complaint by Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani that she was mentally and physically harassed.

After registering a case of a complaint by the actress, police took up the investigation and finally arrested him on Friday.

Jethwani complained to the police on September 13 that a false case was registered against her by using forged documents and that she was mentally and physically harassed. YSRCP leader Vidyasagar, also said to be a film producer, was named accused number one in the case, registered by the actress. The remaining accused were mentioned as others in the FIR.

The state government on August 15 suspended three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers following allegations that acting under political pressure, they arrested the actress and her parents, bypassing laid down procedures and protocol.

The actress was arrested on a complaint by Vidyasagar in February when YSRCP was in power.

The case was registered at Ibrahimpatnam police station under the NTR district for allegedly forging property documents, extorting money from Vidyasagar and cheating him.

Jethwani met with Andhra Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Thursday to request protection for herself and her family and demand Vidyasagar’s arrest.

She claimed that she and her family face danger from people they filed a case against.

Jethwani, who was behind bars for 42 days early this year, claimed that IPS officers and political leaders were involved in the alleged harassment.

She claimed that a false case was fabricated against her to coerce her into withdrawing a complaint of sexual assault she had lodged against a prominent corporate executive in Mumbai.

The actress and her parents were arrested in Mumbai by a team of Andhra Police officers. The police team was led by the then Vijayawada Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vishal Guni.

The state government on September 15 suspended P. Sitharama Anjaneyulu, the then Director General of Police, Intelligence, Kanthi Rana Tata, the then Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada and Vishal Gunni, then Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vijayawada).

The police will likely include the senior IPS officers as the accused in the case.

Meanwhile, Kranti Rana Tata has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking anticipatory bail. The court will hear the petition on Monday.

Ayushman Bharat World’s Largest Publicly Funded Health Coverage Programme: JP Nadda

Ayushman Bharat is the world’s largest publicly funded health coverage programme, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, J.P. Nadda said on Friday. He said this while highlighting the key achievements of the Union Health Ministry in the first 100 days of the government at a press conference, in the national capital.

J.P. Nadda said that the recent announcement of expansion of the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY scheme to provide health coverage to all senior citizens, above 70 years of age, irrespective of income group, will potentially benefit around 6 crore individuals across 4.5 crore families. The Minister informed that the expanded scheme will be implemented from October this year. He also highlighted a significant advancement in the U-WIN Portal. “The U-WIN portal has been developed for full digitization of vaccination services for complete vaccination record of pregnant women and children from birth to 17 years under the Universal Immunization Programme,” Nadda said.

The portal is available in 11 regional languages including Hindi. J.P. Nadda said that the portal is already operational on pilot basis. “As on 16th September, 6.46 crore beneficiaries have been registered, 1.04 crore vaccination sessions have been held and 23.06 crore administered vaccine doses have been recorded on the portal,” the Health Minister said. Further, J.P. Nadda shared that medical colleges in the country increased more than 8 per cent — from 706 in 2023-24 to 766 in 2024-25 — and MBBS and PG seats in the country. This would lead to an increase in the availability of doctors in the healthcare system, he said.”There has been a 98 per cent increase in medical colleges from 387 in 2013-14 to 766 in 2024-25. During the same period, 379 new medical colleges have been established and, presently there are 766 (423 in government and 343 in private) medical colleges in the country”.

MBBS seats also increased by 6.30 per cent — from 1,08,940 in 2023-24 to 1,15,812 in 2024-25. “MBBS seats increased by 64,464 (i.e., 125 per cent) from 2013-14 (51,348 seats) to 2024-25 (11,5812 seats).” Another significant achievement in the last 100 days is the establishment of the National Medical Register (NMR) — a comprehensive dynamic database for all allopathic (MBBS) registered doctors in India. NMR is linked with the Aadhaar ID of the doctors that ensures the individual’s authenticity. “NMR being a key component of the country’s Ayushman Bharat digital mission, it would be part of Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR),” the Health Minister said. He further noted that NMR will ensure provision of data covering details of around 13 lakh doctors in the country.

RG Kar Tragedy: CBI Seeks Polygraph Test Of Former SHO, Narco-Analysis Of Ex-Principal Ghosh

RG Kar Tragedy: CBI Seeks Polygraph Test Of Former SHO, Narco-Analysis Of Ex-Principal Ghosh

The CBI has applied to a special court in Kolkata for permission to conduct a polygraph test on Tala Police Station’s former SHO Abhijit Mondal and a narco-analysis test of former controversial Principal of R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital Sandip Ghosh in connection with its investigation into the ghastly rape and murder of a junior doctor within the hospital premises last month.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already conducted polygraph tests on Ghosh and the sole arrested accused in the case, civic volunteer Sanjay Roy.

Sources said that the CBI officials want the narco-analysis test to be done on Ghosh to match his answers with those he gave during the polygraph test.

There is a fundamental difference between a polygraph test and narco-analysis. The polygraph test, also popularly known as lie-detector tests, measures physiological responses like blood pressure, pulse, and respiration of the person being questioned, based on the idea that physiological responses of persons are different when they are lying. On the other hand, narco-analysis involves injecting the person to be questioned with sodium pentothal, popularly termed the “truth drug” or “truth serum”, which puts the person concerned in a stage of hypnosis which is believed to make that person speak only the truth.

On September 13, the special court rejected the CBI’s plea for the narco-analysis of Roy as he refused his consent. Neither a polygraph test nor a narco-analysis can be conducted without the permission of the person on which the test will be performed.

Although Roy gave his consent for the polygraph test, he refused it for narco-analysis. The findings of the polygraph test or narco-analysis can be used as evidence against anyone in the court. Such tests are considered attempts by the investigation agencies to get nearer to the truth in their probe.

Both Ghosh and Mondal are currently in the custody of the CBI, following an investigation into their misleading the initial investigation carried out by Kolkata Police in the case and their attempts to tamper with the evidence.

While the CBI arrested Mondal late on Saturday after seven hours of questioning, Ghosh, who was earlier arrested by the agency in the case of financial irregularities at the institution and was in judicial custody, was also shown as “arrested” in the rape and murder case the same day.

The West Bengal Medical Council has cancelled Ghosh’s medical registration, while the Kolkata Police have suspended Mondal.

Actor Vijay’s TVK To Hold First State Meet On October 27

Actor And Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Head Vijay Unveils Party Flag With Anthem

Tamil actor Vijay has announced that his political party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), will hold its first state conference on October 27 in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram district.

Vijay announced this upcoming TVK meet in a statement on Friday.

This meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on October 27 in V. Salai village in Vikravandi block in Villupuram district. Vijay will also announce the party’s political ideology, state office-bearers, and policy-based action plans at the meet.

The actor said in the statement, “Our first-ever state conference will be celebrated as a political festival and celebration of ideologies that will guide us and the goals that we will achieve. The conference would spell out the ideology based on which the party will function.”

Vijay also said the conference’s preparatory work had already commenced and would be accelerated soon.

The Tamil actor said in the statement that TVK general secretary N. Anand would meet the Villupuram district collector and police superintendent with a fresh letter seeking permission and police security.

It may be noted that the party’s first state conference was earlier scheduled for September 23, but it was postponed due to various factors, including permission-related issues.

Vijay announced on September 8 that the Election Commission of India (ECI) recognized his party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Vijay had floated his party in February 2024, saying that TVK would not contest the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and that the party aimed to contest the 2026 Assembly elections from Tamil Nadu.

He then said that his fan club, All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (AITVMI), has been working for the welfare of the people for many years but cannot bring full-fledged social, economic, and political reforms on its own, and for that, political power is required.

In the last local body polls of 2021, members of the actor’s fan AITVMI won 115 of the 169 seats they contested. Interestingly, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan‘s party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and actor-director Seeman’s Naam Thamizhar Katchi (NTK) drew a blank in the local body polls.

Tirupati Laddus Row: Letter Petition Seeks Urgent SC Intervention

Tirupati Laddus Row: Letter Petition Seeks Urgent SC Intervention

A letter petition has been addressed to the Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, seeking the urgent intervention of the Supreme Court into the alleged presence of animal fat in ghee used in making Tirumala laddus. The petition comes in light of recent revelations about the use of animal fat in the preparation of ‘Prasadam’ offered to the deity at the Tirumala Tirupati Temple under the tenure of the previous management of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust.

“Recent investigations have revealed a disturbing truth that non-vegetarian products, specifically bird meat (kolis), were used in the preparation of ‘Prasadam’ during the tenure of the previous TTD Trust management,” said the plea filed through advocate Satyam Singh, adding that this act not only violates the fundamental tenets of Hindu religious customs and strikes at the very core of our religious practices and beliefs.

Further, it said that the use of non-vegetarian products in ‘Prasadam’ preparation strikes at the heart of this constitutional protection, when Article 25(1) of the Constitution states that all persons are “equally entitled to freedom of conscience and the right freely to profess, practice and propagate religion.”

The preparation and distribution of ‘Prasadam’ is an integral part of Hindu religious practice, deeply rooted in tradition and spiritual significance. By contaminating this sacred offering with non-vegetarian elements, the temple management has effectively denied devotees their right to practice their religion as prescribed by their faith,” stated the petition.

It cited several Supreme Court judgments, which emphasised the importance of protecting essential religious practices and held that practices fundamental to the religion and integral to its basic tenets are protected under the Constitution. “This egregious violation at the Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple is not merely an isolated incident but a symptom of a larger, systemic issue plaguing the management of our sacred institutions,” the plea added. It said that the violation in question impinged upon the collective right of Hindus as a religious denomination to manage their religious affairs, a right protected under Article 26(b) of the Constitution.

The plea underscored the need for temples to be managed by those who understand and respect the religious customs and sentiments of the devotees, noting that “this violation occurred under the watch of government-appointed officials.”

HM Shah Promises To Drive Out Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants In Jharkhand

Amit shah West Bengal

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a rally in Sahibganj, Jharkhand on Friday, promised to drive out Bangladeshi infiltrators if the BJP comes to power in the state.

The rally marked the launch of the ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ which aimed to deliver the message of ousting the current government and establishing a BJP-led administration that would focus on the state’s development.

HM Shah accused the Hemant Soren-led government of protecting Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators and vowed that a BJP government would ensure their expulsion from Santhal Pargana.

Describing the current state government as the most corrupt, HM Shah cited alleged scams involving MGNREGA (Rs 1,000 crore), land (Rs 600 crore), mining (Rs 1,000 crore), and liquor (Rs 40 crore). He further alleged that the government misappropriated land meant for the Army.

He emphasised that the Parivartan Yatra’s objective was not just to replace the JMM-Congress-RJD government but to establish a government that would eradicate corruption and remove illegal immigrants from the state.

The Union Home Minister said that the Hemant Soren government had broken several promises, such as providing five lakh jobs annually and giving Rs 2,500 monthly to widows, neither of which had been fulfilled.

HM Shah expressed concern over the slogans demanding that Hindus and tribals leave Jharkhand, which he claimed were raised in Pakur district.

He asked, “Did the land belong to tribals or Bangladeshi-Rohingya infiltrators?”

He argued that only a BJP government could safeguard the state’s interests, accusing the current administration of using infiltrators as a vote bank.

He also welcomed the Jharkhand High Court’s order on Bangladeshi infiltration. He stated that the Union Home Ministry, in collaboration with the state government, would form a committee to investigate the intrusion issue.

Highlighting issues related to youth employment, HM Shah accused the state government of leaking exam papers for various job recruitments, including those for Junior Engineers, Lab Assistants, Municipality, Graduate-Level Jobs, and JPSC.

He assured that a BJP government would take strict action against those involved in such leaks.

Other BJP leaders, including state President Babulal Marandi and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, attended the rally.

India’s Readymade Garment Exports Reach Over $6.4 Billion In April-August

India’s readymade garment exports reach over $6.4 billion in April-August

Bucking the trend amid persisting global challenges, the country’s ready-made garment (RMG) exports grew 11.9 percent in August compared to last year. The cumulative RMG exports for April-August stood at $6,395 million (about $6.4 billion).

According to the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), apparel exports maintained their growth momentum despite global headwinds, the persisting Red Sea crisis, and other challenges such as logistic costs and global inflation.

Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman of AEPC, said that growing at an average of 7.12 per cent in the last five months (April to August 2024-25), RMG exports have bucked the trend of falling merchandise exports, which touched a 13-month low in August.

“It is very encouraging to see the resilience of the industry. With a focus on product quality and environmental and social compliance, the industry is poised to leap into a high growth trajectory and be a major global player in garment exports,” he mentioned.

In recent months, RMG exports have demonstrated an extremely positive trend. The recent surge in RMG exports is a testament to the increasing trust global brands have started reposting in India-made products.

“Our exports to Japan, Korea, Australia, Mauritius and Norway have grown by 7.7 per cent, 16.8 per cent, 12.5 per cent, 6.6 per cent and 17.3 per cent, respectively, in the first quarter of this fiscal year,” said Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General AEPC.

To further promote growth, the Council has asked the government for flexibility in fabric import, PLI 2.0 for capacity augmentation, an extension of the interest equalisation scheme for at least five years with an increased rate of 5 per cent for all exporters, an Urban Area Employment Encouragement Scheme, an Incentive for ESG compliance, and a level playing field in important markets such as the EU.

The labour-intensive sector can harness India’s demographic dividend. Hence, the government needs to give it the right push and support, especially when the world is looking for options to switch its sourcing from conventional destinations due to changing geopolitical considerations, said the AEPC.

Puthiya Thalaimurai’s Dravidianist Journo Niranjan, Nelson Xavier And Other Dravidianists Ridicule Hindus On Tirupati Laddu Beef Adulteration

Puthiya Thalaimurai's Dravidianist Journo Niranjan, Nelson Xavier And Other Dravidianists Ridicule Hindus On Tirupati Laddu Beef Adulteration

On 18 September 2024, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of using substandard ingredients, including animal fat, in the famous Tirupati laddu. However, YSRCP denied these allegations.

A laboratory report revealed that beef tallow, fish oil, and palm oil were used to prepare laddus, which were distributed as prasad at the renowned Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. The report’s findings indicate that the ghee used to prepare the iconic Tirupati laddu prasadam during the YSRCP regime contained traces of animal fat, including beef tallow and fish oil, leading to widespread outrage and claims of disrespect toward religious sentiments.

As the entire Hindu community is outraged by reports of adulteration of Tirupati Laddu prasadam with beef tallow, pig fat and fish oil, the DMK-supporting Dravidianists in Tamil Nadu have pounced on the opportunity to mock Hindus and their worship of cows.

One such Dravidianist propagandist masquerading as a ‘journalist’ is Niranjan Kumar of Puthiya Thalaimurai news channel.

In an X post that seemingly justified the presence of beef fat in the holy prasadam, the Dravidianist journalist said “Let all those souls who were lynched to death attain peace“, in an apparent dig at gau rakshaks protecting cows from smugglers.

In another post he mocked at Hindus by making reference to a scene from the film ‘Ayan’ in which the antagonist offers laddu to a character played by actor Prabhu, to signify the striking of a deal. Prabhu offers the laddu back to the antagonist to confirm it is not poisoned. However, later Prabhu’s car meets with an accident because the antagonist had removed the nuts and bolts from the wheels.

You thought I kept it in the laddu? I kept it in the nut-u“, says the antagonist.

In this case, the malice was actually in the laddu and so, the screenshot and snippet of this scene was shared by many Dravidianists and DMK-Congress supporters. Niranjan too shared the same screenshot to mock Hindus.

The bigoted Dravidian propagandist shared another screenshot from the movie ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ in which the character blushes as she says “Achaho Perumale”.

The propagandist at Puthiya Thalaimurai in a sadistic way expressed his elation at Hindu devotees being duped and made to eat laddu laden with beef fat.

Another Dravidian propagandist who calls himself as a journalist is Nelson Xavier. He took at a jibe at the incident saying “Milk, butter, ghee and fat, all belong to cows. Like cow’s milk, its fat is also foodstuff. Don’t talk down beef fat.”

As usual there were other DMK-supporting Dravidianist who took the opportunity to make fun of Hindus.

The above post takes jibe at Hindus saying “Parcel one laddu made of beef fat for the mama (derogatory reference to Brahmins)”.

In the above picture, a DMK IT wing man shared a post mocking Hindus over the presence of beef fat in Tirupati laddu.

Varavanai Senthil, a rabid Dravidianist know for making anti-Hindu remarks who currently does a show for a DMK propaganda channel called Onion Roast and is also associated with the DMK mouthpiece Kalaignar TV, went on a spree of sharing memes that mocked Hindus over fasting for Purattasi month while Tirupati laddu contains beef fat.
