Karnataka Govt Harassing Wadiyar Family, Says Union Min Kumaraswamy

Karnataka Govt Harassing Wadiyar Family, Says Union Min Kumaraswamy

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy on Monday alleged that the Congress government was acting animosity towards the erstwhile Mysuru Wadiyar royal family, which has made significant contributions to Karnataka’s development over the years. He made the statement while addressing a public gathering in the village of Kudluru in the Channapatna Assembly constituency.

Goddess Chamundeshwari Devi is the former royal Wadiyar family’s deity and has been worshipped by them for generations. Kumaraswamy stated that he was disappointed with the government’s bid to distance the Wadiyar family from their deity. “Goddess Chamundeshwari’s sacred temple has always been managed by the Wadiyars, who have contributed significantly to the development of the area. They have also made invaluable contributions to Karnataka’s progress in irrigation, education, and industrial growth,” he maintained. Kumaraswamy expressed anger, alleging that CM Siddaramaiah is giving this respected family continuous trouble. The Wadiyar family has managed the Chamundeshwari temple area with dedication and reverence, faithfully carrying out religious services, he reiterated.

He claimed that CM Siddaramaiah’s government was taking away their privilege to serve the deity. Kumaraswamy further stated that his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who is facing bye-election from Channapatna seat will emerge as ‘Arjuna’ this time and not become ‘Abhimanyu’. “He got stuck in the ‘chakravyuha’ of the Congress party in the last two elections and got defeated. This time, people will not allow him to get defeated and they will ensure that he will emerge as ‘Arjuna’”, he stated.

Nikhil tasted defeat in the 2023 Assembly elections from Ramanagara Assembly seat and was defeated by Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Kumaraswamy was the CM at that time, heading the Congress-JD(S) coalition government. The scion of the former royal family and BJP MP for Mysore-Kodagu, Yaduveer Wadiyar was present. The erstwhile Mysuru royal family commands respect among the people of the region.

No Stay On Trial In Sedition Case, Delhi HC Tells Sharjeel Imam

The Delhi High Court on Monday told Sharjeel Imam — an accused in the 2020 northeast Delhi riots case — that it has not stayed the trial proceedings in the sedition case linked to his alleged inflammatory speeches at Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia area against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). “There is no stay, the trial would obviously proceed. If the trial court comes to a conclusion that enough material exists, it will proceed to frame charges,” clarified the Bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri when Imam’s counsel pointed out that the trial court had proceeded to frame charges against his client.

The Delhi High Court was hearing Imam’s plea seeking quashing of sedition and hate speech charges against him under Sections 124A and 153A of the now-repealed Indian Penal Code (IPC). The matter was deferred after an adjournment was sought on behalf of Delhi Police. Last week, the Supreme Court had refused to entertain a plea filed by Sharjeel Imam seeking bail in an alleged larger conspiracy behind the 2020 Delhi riots. It said that Imam, accused under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), should not have moved a writ petition directly before the apex court when his bail plea is pending adjudication before the Delhi High Court.

However, the top court asked the Delhi High Court to hear Imam’s bail plea on the date fixed and decide it expeditiously. In his appeal filed before the Delhi HC, the former Jawaharlal Nehru University student and activist has challenged the trial court order, which had previously denied him bail, following his arrest in August 2020 in connection with the case. He has been in custody since January 2020, facing multiple FIRs related to the violence. According to the police, Imam made the alleged inflammatory speeches in Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi on December 13, 2019, and in Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh on January 16, 2020.

JNU scholars and activists Imam and Umar Khalid are among the nearly dozen people reportedly involved in the alleged larger conspiracy linked to the Delhi riots of 2020, as per the Delhi Police. Imam and Khalid are facing charges in connection with making inflammatory speeches which allegedly fuelled the violence, as per the police. The riots broke out in the national capital in February 2020 as clashes between the anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and pro-CAA protesters took a violent turn. The mayhem saw more than 50 people lose their lives, besides leaving over 700 people injured. The Delhi High Court, on May 29, granted statutory bail to Sharjeel Imam in a sedition case. However, he continued to remain in jail due to his involvement in the larger conspiracy case.

TNCC Leader Saravanan Urges CM Stalin For Coalition Representation In TN Cabinet Amid Rising Calls For Power-Sharing

TNCC Saravanan Urges CM Stalin For Coalition Representation.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee State General Secretary and Advocate M Saravanan submitted a petition to Chief Minister MK Stalin, urging him to include more alliance party members in the state cabinet. This appeal comes a day after actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay announced his party’s readiness to form a coalition government if it wins the 2026 assembly elections.

In his petition to CM Stalin, Saravanan emphasized the importance of coalition representation within the government, pointing to DMK’s historic reliance on coalition support for electoral success.

“Since the beginning of your party, you have come to power with the support of the coalition parties. It would be better if the coalition government flourishes under shared leadership in Tamil Nadu. This is what the people of Tamil Nadu are expecting,” Saravanan stated, framing the appeal as a collective expectation of the public.

The appeal has added momentum to ongoing coalition debates within the DMK alliance, especially after recent statements from key alliance leaders. Aadhav Arjuna, General Secretary of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), previously questioned the absence of VCK representation in the Deputy CM’s office following Udhayanidhi Stalin’s appointment. He specifically raised whether the VCK leader, Thirumavalavan, with decades in politics, should have been considered.

The issue resurfaced when an old video of Thirumavalavan demanding a “share in governance and power” was briefly reposted on his party’s social media, sparking intense discussions. To address the situation, CM Stalin held a personal meeting with Thirumavalavan upon returning from the U.S., where the VCK leader affirmed the alliance’s unity and dismissed concerns of discord as unnecessary speculation.

With Vijay’s statements promising power-sharing within the coalition, if TVK comes to power, the topic has taken on new urgency. This latest petition from Congress reflects a shared sentiment within DMK’s alliance, further intensifying discussions around a more inclusive coalition government structure.

Hindu Munnani Successfully Halts Unauthorized Christian Prayer Hall Construction In Cuddalore

Hindu Munnani Successfully Halts Unauthorized Christian Prayer Hall Construction In Cuddalore.

The Hindu Munnani has once again successfully halted the unauthorized construction of a Christian prayer hall that lacked government approval and was against the local community’s interests in Cuddalore.

Reports emerged of antisocial elements involved in monetary inducements for Christian conversions in the Parangipettai area of Cuddalore District, near the Kamatchi Amman Temple. Following this, Ganesan personally visited the temple management and local residents after notifying Hindu Munnani officials. It was discovered that Jayapal was building a concrete structure for a prayer hall near the temple without the necessary permissions.

Hindu Munnani officials intervened, stopping the construction and addressing the issue of forced conversions in the area.

Despite warnings from the courts and local activists about illegal activities, the influx of missionaries from various regions is a serious concern for the state.

Recently, villagers in South Eranthai, Tirunelveli district, successfully stopped a Christian family’s unauthorized church construction on public land. They organized a two-day sit-in protest at a local temple, raising black flags to express their dissent, which led to official intervention and a halt to the construction.

A newly converted Christian family in this predominantly Hindu village near Nanguneri Union had begun building the church without permission. Despite protests urging the family to worship at home or secure private land for their church, construction continued.

South Eranthai, located near Thisayanvilai, has around 130 Hindu families. The day before the sit-in, villagers staged a hunger strike at the Uchimakali Amman temple against the unauthorized church. They displayed black flags at their homes to symbolize their opposition.

Village leader Dhana Singh stated, “Since their conversion, the family has disrupted Hindu temple ceremonies. They are building a church without the necessary approvals from the revenue department or police. Despite authorities ordering a stop to construction, it continues. We demand action; otherwise, we will withdraw our children from local schools and escalate our protest.”

In a related issue, the Hindu Munnani recently filed a formal complaint with the Thittacheri police station in Nagapattinam district, requesting a ban on an illegal prayer house across from the Vinayaka temple on Marungoor Main Road. They allege that this group is attempting to convert temple visitors and is targeting patients in government hospitals under the guise of missionary work.

“This prayer group is brainwashing vulnerable Hindus with the intent of conversion. This illegal activity must be stopped, and action should be taken against them,” their petition states.

Who Are Supporting And Opposing TVK And Its Leader Vijay?

TVK first conference

Since actor Vijay’s first conference for the TVK on 27 October 2024, the political landscape has intensified, as the new party has emerged and he indirectly labeled the DMK as a political adversary, directly attacking it. While the DMK’s allies have been cautious in their responses, senior leaders from the party have commented, yet prominent figures like party chief MK Stalin remain silent.

TVK’s entry into the political arena appears to complicate the vote share for the Dravidian major more than for any other party, as they all operate under similar ideologies. Below are some comments from various political leaders on this development.

BJP

H Raja

BJP State Coordinator H. Raja addressed the press at the Erode BJP office, stating that the party’s relationship with TVK or Vijay will not significantly impact the BJP. However, he noted that it could have repercussions for the Dravidian parties.

H. Raja said, “Ideologically we believe in nationalism point of view but he is a Dravidian stock who speaks about separatism so our vote bank will not be affected.” When the press questioned him about declaring him as part of the Dravidian stock, Raja responded, “What’s the doubt about it? He is part of the Dravidian stock. Therefore, if you ask whose votes he might split, it would be the Dravidian stocks vote, because of that only the DMK could ultimately weaken,” he continued, “He should say more such as ‘union government’ should speak of Dravidian stocks, he should erect more EVR hoardings. I wish that and I hope Vijay would help me by speaking more about Dravidian Stock split the vote and help us.”

Tamilisai Soundararajan

Speaking to a private TV news channel Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “First of all, I want to congratulate his new party and the same time I extend my best wishes to his fans and cadres. However, we can’t consider him as a strong opposition party with a solid ideology; it feels more like watching a movie.” She continued, “He has declared Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam to be a political enemy and has opposed them severely. In that regard, I believe this as a healthy situation, especially as corruption has become rampant, there is dynasty rule and people are being cheated. He implicitly positions himself as an ideological adversary of the BJP, but I think there’s some justification in saying his perspective is flawed.”

She cited examples like the NEET examination, where government students without reservations have secured medical seats. She also criticized his two-language policy, pointing out that his own movie is being released in multiple languages. She argued that Vijay’s view of the central government as a disruptive force is misguided, especially considering that people have voted for the BJP for the third time and that 2.7 million minorities have joined the party. Thus, she concluded that his perspective on the BJP is flawed.

Then she praised Vijay’s principles, such as, “Declaring we worship God and atheism is not our policy, Similarly, paid tribute to all the freedom fighters, proudly mentioned the palm tree, said that we will declare Padhaneer as state drink, said that we will fight against corruption, all this is a healthy atmosphere.”

DMK & Its Alliance

Regupathy

The DMK appeared to be the most affected by the TVK conference, especially since Vijay indirectly referred to the DMK as a “Dravidian model” government. In response, Law Minister Regupathy remarked that TVK’s ideology was merely a “xerox copy” of the DMK’s.

Regupathy said, “It is evident from the xerox copy of their announcement yesterday that the principles of the Dravida model government cannot be removed from the people.  They have given some explanation of our principles. As of now we have seen the political parties A team and B team, they are BJP’s C team.”

RS Bharathi

DMK organizing secretary R.S. Bharathi compared the party to a banyan tree in response to Vijay’s remarks. “There’s a Tamil proverb that says the tree that bears fruit gets stoned. We can endure any attacks directed at us,” he said, addressing Vijay’s indirect criticism of the DMK. On the criticisms aimed at the Dravidian model of governance, he noted that several people, including the Governor, have spoken out against it, adding, “We are not concerned about that.”

Later in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin declined to comment on Vijay’s speech, stating he hadn’t seen it. However, earlier, he mentioned he “greets” Vijay when asked about him. “I’ll respond after I’ve had a chance to watch his speech,” he told reporters following the conclusion of the TVK meeting.

Congress

Selvaperunthagai

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai refrained from directly criticizing or welcoming a recent statement of actor Vijay, opting instead a cautious approach. During a press conference at the airport, he indicated that they should “wait and watch” to see how the situation unfolds. He said, “Naturally change is inevitable everywhere, the BJP rule will change. Change is the only constant, and everyone knows this; it’s nothing new.” Then to comments that Vijay is a child that can play with politics the snake Selvaperunthagai replied, in response to comments that referred to Vijay as a child playing with snake (politics), Selvaperunthagai said, “When we were young, we were playing by catching the snakes. I will share my thoughts after I see what he has said, opinion and the direction he is taking.”

VCK – Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi

In the meantime, leaders from DMK’s ally VCK expressed differing opinions. Party general secretary and Villupuram MP D. Ravikumar suggested that judging a movie by its trailer is premature, indicating that it’s too soon to determine if Vijay will follow through on his statements.

Conversely, VCK deputy general secretary Aadhav Arjuna noted that his party’s stance on power-sharing is gaining traction across the state and praised actor Vijay’s comments on the matter.

Seeman – Naam Tamilar Katchi

Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Coordinator Seeman addressed the media in Madurai, sated, “If Vijay claims that Dravidianism and Tamil nationalism are like two eyes, that directly contradicts our philosophy. Dravidian and Tamil Nationalism are not the same. They are fundamentally different. This is about the politics of my country and my nation, focused on Tamil national politics. While Vijay shares some of our views, we have notable disagreements.”

Our conflict lies in language policy. For us, Tamil is our mother tongue, the medium of study, and the language of instruction. Other languages can be learned, if necessary, but we cannot prioritize them over Tamil.

Hindu Munnani Files Complaint Against Pollachi Govt School Headmistress For Allowing Friday Namaz On School Campus

Hindu Munnani Files Complaint Against Pollachi Govt School Headmistress For Allowing Friday Namaz On School Campus.

The Hindu Munnani has lodged a formal complaint with the Pollachi Deputy Collector and the District Education Office, demanding action against the headmistress of the government high school in Diwanshah Pudur. The complaint centers on the headmistress allowing Friday Namaz (prayers) to be conducted on school premises, which the complainants argue undermines the secular environment of the school attended by students from diverse religious backgrounds.

In recent weeks, it has been reported that Friday prayers have been regularly held at the school, raising concerns among local advocates. The headmistress claimed that she only authorized the prayers for one week and was unsure if they had continued. This response has drawn criticism, as the school serves a varied student population, and such practices could be perceived as preferential treatment, potentially leading to religious discord and mental distress among students.

In light of these concerns, officials from the Hindu Munnani Youth Front have emphasized that the continuation of these prayers may negatively impact the school’s atmosphere. They have submitted a petition to the District Deputy Collector and the District Education Officer, urging the discontinuation of Islamic prayers and calling for accountability regarding the headmaster’s unclear handling of the situation.

Instances Of Secularization And De-Hinduization Of Deebavali By Brands And Institutions

Instances Of Secularization And De-Hinduization Of Deebavali By Brands And Institutions

Over the years, Hindu festivals have become platforms for virtue signalling and activism. One can also see the secularization of one of the most important festivals of Hindus: Deepavali.

In the past few days, two educational institutions have been criticized for participating in this secularization.

On 24 October 2024, Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College’s annual Diwali Mela, titled “Noor,” sparked controversy as it was seen as “Islamising” the Hindu festival by using Urdu terminology. Held by LSR’s National Service Scheme, this year’s event featured the theme “Nazm-e-Bahar: An Ode to the Light Within” and aimed to support small and women-run enterprises. However, Hindus criticized the choice of “Noor” instead of “Diwali,” as it undermined the festival’s traditional Hindu context. This was seen as an attempt to “Urdu-ize” Diwali. Faculty and students defended the name, stating that “Noor” has been the event’s title for years without issue.

It is noteworthy that in 2023, they had called it Jashn-e-Abha.

The annual mela last year was called ‘Noor,’ with the official hashtag for the event being #NoorEInayat.

On 27 October 2024, the Academics & Career Council (ANC) of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur shared a poster of their Diwali celebrations event named as “Jashn-e-Roshni”. Following backlash, the post was deleted.

Let’s take a look at another government institution, the FSSAI for indulging in something similar in 2023. The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) faced backlash on social media over a rumored invitation to a Diwali event allegedly titled “Jashn-e-Roshni.”

Although FSSAI clarified that it had not organized any event under this name and discredited the circulating image as unofficial, public outrage persisted. Many users felt that renaming Diwali with an Urdu term was inappropriate. FSSAI acknowledged, however, that in 2022 it had indeed held a similar event, “Jashn-e-Roshni,” as part of its festive celebrations, which included cultural activities and competitions for staff.

Hinduphobic Ads During Deepavali

Here’s a look at past instances where ads from major Indian brands targeted Hindu festival Deepavali:

In 2020, Tanishq encountered significant backlash over a Diwali advertisement featuring actors Neena Gupta, Nimrat Kaur, Sayani Gupta, and Alaya F discussing the significance of the festival. Sayani Gupta’s call for a cracker-free Diwali upset many Hindus on Twitter, resulting in widespread criticism. In light of the negative reactions, Tanishq opted to withdraw the ad.

Fabindia drew backlash with its festive collection named ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz,’ which used Urdu, the language associated with Islamic culture, to promote Diwali attire, sparking a debate over cultural misrepresentation. The ad was later removed from the platform.

In the past, to modernise Deepavali, brands like Cadburys tried to detach the traditional sweet making from the celebrations with ads like these.

Virtue-Signalling/Awareness Activism During Deepavali

How can we forget the massive campaign by film stars, sportspersons and influencers alike gaslighting Hindus into celebrating a noiseless, smokeless Deepavali. Here are a few such gems from the past.

Noiseless Deepavali

Since Deepavali is said to be a festival of lights, several brands came forward with ad campaigns gaslighting Hindus into not purchasing crackers. The noiseless Deepavali was one of the biggest campaigns that was run by several corporate houses. They gave excuses like make it safe for animals who get scared by the noise or make it noise-free for babies and elderly.

In 2020, Tata Motors launched the ‘Silent Diwali Film’ to promote a safe, pollution-free Diwali while encouraging viewers to adopt electric mobility for a sustainable future. The video contrasted the excitement of lighting firecrackers with the environmental harm they cause, showcasing nature’s beauty amid chaos. It emphasized that the loudest statement can be the quietest, highlighting the Nexon EV, India’s best-selling electric car, which operates with minimal noise.

The most recent one from the corporate stable is GRT group. In an advertisement in print and on their social media, they called for silence and care to make noise this Deepavali!

Smoke-Free Deepavali

Actors like Priyanka Chopra, who contracted asthma only during Deepavali, made her presence known by requesting every Hindu not to burst crackers to celebrate a green Deepavali.

Radio City used children and their love for crackers to promote a “smoke-free” Deepavali.

These are just a few advertisement campaigns and instances of secularization of the Hindu festival of Deepavali. Thanks to the constant virtue signalling, Hindus are rebelling more and more and celebrating Deepavali like it should be celebrated – with pomp, splendour, sweets, savouries, and lots of crackers!

Symbol Of New Work Culture Of New India: PM Modi On Tata-Airbus C-295 Facility In Gujarat

Symbol Of New Work Culture Of New India: PM Modi On Tata-Airbus C-295 Facility In Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Tata-Airbus C-295 aircraft manufacturing facility in Vadodara as a symbol of “the new work culture of New India”, commending the swift and efficient execution of the project from its groundbreaking just two years ago to its inauguration this month.

Reflecting on his vision for timely execution, PM Modi noted, “My focus has always been on preventing delays in planning and execution.” PM Modi joined by Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, inaugurated the manufacturing facility in Vadodara on Monday. This event marks a significant milestone for the defence sector as the plant will produce the country’s first private-sector military transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF), enhancing India’s global position in defence manufacturing. Greeting the audience in Spanish with a warm “Buenos días”, PM Modi highlighted the importance of President Sanchez’s presence, stating, “This is my friend Pedro Sanchez’s first visit to India. Today, he is helping steer the India-Spain partnership in a new direction.” He described the new C-295 facility as a major step in strengthening the bilateral ties between India and Spain, as well as in advancing the mission of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’. During his address, PM Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to the teams from Airbus and Tata, adding a note of nostalgia.

“Just a short time ago, we lost Ratan Tata. If he were here today, he would undoubtedly be immensely pleased. His spirit, wherever it is, must be experiencing joy today,” he remarked. PM Modi praised the factory as a symbol of “the new work culture of New India”, commending the swift and efficient execution of the project from its groundbreaking just two years ago to its inauguration this month. Reflecting on his vision for timely execution, PM Modi noted, “My focus has always been on preventing delays in planning and execution.” He also recalled his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, sharing how he championed manufacturing in Vadodara by establishing a train coach production facility. “Those coaches are now being exported to other countries,” PM Modi said, emphasizing Vadodara’s growth as a production and export hub.

The Tata-Airbus plant is poised to deliver the first C-295 aircraft by September 2026, with 39 additional units by August 2031. This marks a substantial advancement in India’s defence self-sufficiency, as the IAF will become the world’s largest operator of the C-295, boosting its airlift capabilities. PM Modi further envisioned the future impact of the plant, stating, “In the future, aircraft built here will be exported to other countries”. Quoting Spanish poet Antonio Machado, PM Modi said, “When we take the first step towards a goal, the path unfolds by itself.” He used this metaphor to highlight India’s transformation in defence manufacturing, reflecting on critical decisions made a decade ago to build a sustainable defence industry. “Ten years ago, it was unimaginable that India could achieve such substantial defence manufacturing,” he said. “At that time, the focus was on imports. We chose new paths, and the results are here.”

The new facility is expected to play a vital role in creating a thriving defence manufacturing ecosystem in India. With over 18,000 aircraft parts to be produced across the country by MSMEs, PM Modi emphasized the economic benefits and job creation potential, “This factory alone will generate thousands of jobs and produce 18,000 aircraft parts, which will be manufactured across the country by MSMEs.” PM Modi celebrated India’s recent successes in defence, noting that in the last five years alone, 1,000 new defence startups have emerged, with exports surging thirty-fold. “Today, we are supplying defence equipment to over 100 countries,” he said, reaffirming the government’s focus on skill development and employment generation. Highlighting his administration’s role in revitalizing the defence sector, PM Modi pointed out key policies, such as transforming ordnance factories into seven distinct companies and developing defence corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. “These decisions have injected new energy into the defence sector,” he said.

PM Modi also underscored India’s growing aviation connectivity, adding, “We are extending air connectivity to hundreds of small towns across the country. We are already working to establish India as an aviation hub.” The first C-295 aircraft is expected to roll out of the Tata-Airbus factory in Vadodara by September 2026, with the remaining 39 aircraft scheduled for delivery by August 2031. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the C-295 aircraft factory in Vadodara in October 2022. Once fully operational, the facility will make the Indian Air Force (IAF) the world’s largest operator of the C-295.

Lotus Will Bloom In Bengal, Jungle Raj Under Mamata’s Rule To Come To An End: Tarun Chugh

Lotus Will Bloom In Bengal, Jungle Raj Under Mamata's Rule To Come To An End: Tarun Chugh

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh rallied behind Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Monday and said that the ‘jungle raj’ under Mamata Banerjee’s rule in West Bengal will surely come to an end by 2026. “Lotus will bloom in Bengal, bringing better days,” he added.

Tarun Chugh, speaking to IANS, reacted to Amit Shah’s statement and said, “He has forecasted the future. Certainly, the jungle raj under Mamata’s rule in Bengal will end, and the lotus will bloom, bringing better days.” Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that infiltration in the state will stop completely if the BJP comes to power in 2026. “Bengal is a bordering state and there is state-sponsored infiltration here. Only solution to bring Bengal out of this situation is to bring the BJP government to power in 2026,” HM told newsmen. Tarun Chugh further emphasised that the central government has voiced legitimate concerns over Bangladeshi infiltration in northeastern states, particularly in Bengal and Jharkhand.

He added, “This is not merely a concern; it’s a reality. However, state governments, driven by vote-bank politics, act with short-term motives.” The BJP leader urged state administrations to work alongside the central government with a focus on the nation’s unity, social cohesion, and integrity. He stated, “States should join the Centre in playing the role of a vigilant guardian of national interests.” Addressing the rising pollution levels in Delhi, the BJP leader criticised Arvind Kejriwal and AAP for ‘politicising’ the pollution issue rather than addressing it. “Instead of presenting a ten-year report card on pollution control, AAP continues to point fingers. The entire leadership stands at the brink of failure. They’ve turned Delhi into a gas chamber, polluted its water, and today nearly 50% of Delhi’s population suffers from health issues,” said Tarun Chugh.

He further claimed, “People’s life expectancy has dropped by ten years, yet this party remains silent and lacks any substantial plan to tackle these critical issues, resorting only to rhetoric.”

PM Modi, Spanish Prez Pledge To Enhance Partnership In Bilateral Talks, Held At Laxmi Vilas Palace

PM Modi, Spanish Prez Pledge To Enhance Partnership In Bilateral Talks, Held At Laxmi Vilas Palace.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Spanish President Pedro Sanchez for bilateral talks at the Durbar Hall complex of Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. Their discussion focused on strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors. The two leaders also discussed their shared commitment to global peace, prosperity, and cooperation.

The meeting took place following the inauguration of the TATA-Airbus C295 aircraft production facility, with both leaders underscoring their commitment to a dynamic and multifaceted India-Spain partnership. The two leaders, following delegation-level talks, also had lunch at the palace and interacted with the India-Spain business delegation. Welcoming President Sanchez, PM Modi said, “I welcome you and your delegation. This is your first visit to India. Last year in New Delhi, we all felt your absence. It’s a pleasure to welcome you to India during Diwali in my home state of Gujarat.” He noted Gujarat’s reputation as a “land of festivals and enthusiasm” and likened the Diwali festivities to the renewed energy and enthusiasm in India-Spain relations sparked by Sanchez’s visit.

Highlighting the deep historical roots of the India-Spain partnership, PM Modi remarked, “With the inauguration of the C295 plant, we’re beginning a new chapter. Our shared commitment to democracy and the rule of law connects us, and we have strong ties in fields like economy, defence, pharmaceuticals, IT, science and technology, renewable energy, and more. We also share a commitment to global peace, prosperity, and cooperation.” PM Modi further emphasised on the importance of people-to-people ties, noting that young Indian talent is contributing to Spain’s green and digital transition goals. “In light of this growing relationship, India opened a new Consulate in Barcelona this year, and we welcome Spain’s decision to open a new Consulate in Bengaluru,” he added.

Spanish President Sanchez congratulated PM Modi on his third term in office and expressed optimism about the impact of his visit, stating, “It is an honour to be in India with the Spanish delegation. I am confident this visit will enhance our bilateral relations and reflect the influence both India and Spain hold globally.” Sanchez also mentioned an “ambitious joint declaration” being endorsed during the visit, covering a wide range of collaborations. “We celebrate the signing of agreements in fields such as investment, railways, customs, and cultural exchanges, with more areas to be added, reflecting the richness of our ties,” he added.

The Spanish President highlighted the unique complementarities between the two countries, noting, “India’s role extends beyond the Indo-Pacific to a broader geopolitical context. Spain maintains historic ties with Latin America, an increased presence in Africa, and holds a leading voice in the European Union.” He underscored the opportunities presented by this geopolitical framework, adding, “When India and Spain work together, we can expand our reach and cultivate closer relations across different regions.” Sanchez concluded by stressing the shared goals of both countries, in strengthening the multilateral order and upholding the democratic values worldwide.
