TNM Compares Kashmir Files, Kerala Story, Sabarmati Report To Hitler’s Propaganda Films, Ignores Nazi Propaganda Filmmaker’s Left-Liberal Links

TNM Compares Kashmir Files, Kerala Story, Sabarmati Report To Hitler's Propaganda Films, Ignores Nazi Propaganda Filmmaker's Left-Liberal Links

In a recent video, The News Minute’s Pooja Prasanna made an interesting comparison between films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, The Sabarmati Report, Veer Savarkar, Razakars, etc, to Adolf Hitler’s notorious propaganda film Triumph of the Will and other Nazi propaganda films However, in their eagerness to draw parallels between these two, they failed to mention a critical point that undermines their entire argument.

Triumph of the Will, widely recognized as one of the most influential propaganda films in history, was directed by Leni Riefenstahl, a woman who later became a symbol of artistic brilliance. What Pooja Prasanna and the team at The News Minute conveniently left out is the fact that Riefenstahl, a woman celebrated by many liberals, worked for Nazi propaganda and later even collaborated with The Sunday Times of London, a prestigious liberal newspaper.

In 1972, The New York Times had published an article stating that Riefenstahl will be on assignment for The Sunday Times of London, with which she had earlier freelanced.

The glaring hypocrisy is that, in their condemnation of the political narrative pushed by The Kashmir Files, and other films, TNM ignores the inconvenient truth about Riefenstahl’s post-war collaborations with mainstream left-liberal outlets. This raises a crucial question: why were liberal heroes, such as Riefenstahl, even in the service of Hitler’s regime, using cinema to push the Nazi agenda? It seems odd that a director who glorified one of the most genocidal regimes in modern history would be lauded as a hero by liberals in later years.

By failing to acknowledge this historical contradiction, The News Minute inadvertently exposes its nefarious ways of distorting history to suit a its leftist Dravidianist political narrative. When it comes to condemning political films and their potential for influencing public opinion, they seem happy to forget the left-liberal establishment’s own uncomfortable history with figures who worked for the Nazi regime.

This oversight by News Minute is more than a slip-up; it’s an act of historical whitewashing. While it’s easy to point fingers at contemporary films like The Kashmir Files, it’s crucial to reflect on the uncomfortable alliances that were formed by so-called liberal heroes who worked to advance Nazi propaganda.

Former Idol Wing IG Ponn Manickavel Calls For HR&CE Dissolution, Backs BJP TN Chief Annamalai’s Temple Control Reform

Former Idol Wing IG Ponn Manickavel Calls For HR&CE Dissolution, Backs BJP TN Chief Annamalai's Temple Control Reform

AG Ponn Manickavel, the former IG of the idol wing unit, has called for the dissolution of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE), accusing it of neglecting temples across Tamil Nadu. He praised Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai’s suggestion that the HR&CE relinquish control of the temples, calling it a “great idea” and adding that Annamalai deserves a significant majority for this initiative in upcoming elections.

During his visit to the Bragathambal Temple in Pudukkottai, Ponn Manickavel told reporters that the ruling government is responsible for the deteriorating state of many temples, noting that the Tamil Nadu government has failed to properly maintain and renovate them. He also questioned why Chief Minister Stalin, who is reportedly unwilling to enter temples, is overseeing their management.

Manickavel criticized the HR&CE Department for its inability to properly care for the temples, suggesting that a separate majority should support the idea of removing the department from temple management. He pointed out that many ancient temples in Tamil Nadu are being neglected, with valuable sculptures left unprotected and regular worship not being conducted.

He further highlighted that while the HR&CE Department collects over ₹656 crore annually from temple taxes, it has not ensured the proper upkeep of these temples. In contrast, the Central Government allocates ₹1,308 crore annually to maintain 3,579 historical sites across the country, but even these temples often suffer from poor maintenance. Some temples lack basic amenities like electricity and doors, he added.

Manickavel proposed that the HR&CE Department should be disbanded and that the HR&CE Act should be amended. He suggested the creation of organizations like Mahasabha to take over the management of temples. Noting that there are around 38,000 temples in Tamil Nadu under the Endowments Department, he criticized the Chief Minister for not visiting a single temple. He urged political parties seeking to hold the Chief Minister’s position to push for changes in temple management.

He also expressed his intention to unite Hindu organizations to protect the temples, consult with them, and plan the next steps. Finally, he suggested that the State Archaeological Department should focus on reconstructing temples while preserving their original structures, with the Endowments Department’s role limited to performing the Kumbabhishekam rituals.

“Communist” MP Su Venkatesan Admitted To “Private” Hospital For Chest Pain, Netizens Question Hypocrisy

Su Venkatesan Admitted To Private Hospital For Chest Pain

CPI(M) Member of Parliament Su Venkatesan was hospitalized on 5 January 2025 after suddenly experiencing chest pain during a state conference in Villupuram. He was swiftly admitted to a private hospital along the Tiruchy-Villupuram highway for treatment. Medical professionals have since assured that there are no significant health concerns and that he is in stable condition, with plans for his discharge shortly.

However, his hospitalization has sparked online trolls, with some netizens criticizing the MP’s choice of a private hospital. Despite advocating for Marxist ideals and social equality, they questioned why he opted for private healthcare instead of publicly available services, prompting a wave of sarcastic remarks and jibes on social media.

On 5 January 2025, CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan took to his official X account to provide an update on his health. He shared, “This morning, when I fell ill, my comrades immediately admitted me to the hospital. The doctors who examined me thoroughly confirmed that my health is stable. I would like to express my gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who, upon hearing the news, personally called to inquire about my health with great concern. I would like to express my gratitude to Hon’ble Ministers Mr. Ponmudi, Mr. C.V. Ganesan, former MP Gautama Sikamani, MLA Anniyur Siva, and the Villupuram Collector, all of whom called to check on me. I deeply appreciate Minister P. Moorthy and all the MPs and comrades who visited the hospital to inquire about my well-being.”

Netizen Reaction

However, following his hospitalization, the choice of opting for a private hospital instead of a government facility became a subject of satire and mockery, particularly given his position as a Communist MP. Critics on social media quickly seized the opportunity to poke fun at the apparent contradiction, questioning why he, a staunch advocate of Marxist ideals, chose private healthcare when publicly funded services were available.

One netizen mocked his communist ideals saying, “Communist comrade who opposed corporatism survived after being admitted to corporate hospital due to ill health.”

Another netizen mocked, “Talking about communism! Opposing capitalism….But…If some situation comes to you…. indeed private hospital!!!”

Another netizen stated, “Why did you go to a private hospital instead of a government hospital, comrade? Is that only for the foolish commoners, comrade?”

https://twitter.com/TNindian_2025/status/1875871118822945157

Another netizen questioned, “Why did you go to a private hospital? Why didn’t you go to a government hospital, Comrade?”

Another netizen stated, “Carefully gone to Private Hospital instead of Government hospital.

Another netizen mocked asking, “Hope you were attended by doctors of all faiths , and prescribed you multi faith medicines. And did you go to Private hospital or Government hospital?

Another netizen slammed, “This is a news &very important to society! Thousands of people are getting sick daily in your constituency in their day to day life and what care you are taking on them? Ur health is not more important than society- this must be your feeling! un necessarily you are inviting crowd.”

Another netizen humorously commented on the state of government hospitals, saying, “Sir, if you had gone to a government hospital, tomorrow all the news channels would have covered it as ‘rest in peace’… your news would be everywhere!” This was a pointed jab at the poor conditions under the DMK.

Udhayanidhi Says He Is Proud To Be Christian To Prevent Votes From Going To Vijay: BJP Leader H Raja Slams DMK Scion Udhayanidhi Stalin & Dravidian Movement At Brahmin Rights Protest In Madurai

Udhayanidhi Says He Is Proud To Be Christian To Prevent Votes From Going To Vijay: BJP Leader H Raja Slams DMK Scion Udhayanidhi Stalin & Dravidian Movement At Brahmin Rights Protest In Madurai

A hunger strike led by Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath was held in Palakkanatham, Madurai, on Saturday, 4 January 2025, in which protesters demanded a law protecting the rights of Brahmins. Senior BJP leader H Raja participated and launched a scathing attack on the Dravidian movement, its leaders, and their policies.

Addressing the gathering, senior BJP leader H Raja launched a scathing attack on the Dravidian movement, accusing it of fostering division and conflict in Tamil society. “The Dravidian movement is a foreign puppet. It created division in the country and caused caste conflict. Today, Udhayanidhi Stalin says, ‘I am proud to be a Christian.’ He says this to ensure that the votes of the Christian community do not go to Vijay. If you want to file a case for speaking this truth, then file a case,” Raja said.

Raja alleged that anti-national elements were targeting those who upheld nationalistic ideologies. He stated, “I am not speaking my own words today. I am quoting what Nehru and Periyar said. The governance today is carried out by those who follow Periyar, who once called for the genocide of Brahmins.”

Criticizing the social impact of the Dravidian movement, Raja said incidents of drug addiction and sexual assault were on the rise. “The Dravidian movement is not only anti-national but also anti-Tamil. To understand Periyar, we must look at his statements. He questioned how a Kannada could become the leader of Tamils and declared that Tamils have no knowledge or leadership qualities. According to them, only a Kannada can be a leader,” he alleged.

Raja accused Periyar and his followers of seeking to destroy Brahmins to prevent the emergence of scholars like UV Saminatha Iyer, who republished Tamil Sangam literature. He said, “Did Periyar ever republish Sangam literature? Why do they hate Brahmins? So that Tamil scholarship and cultural preservation are destroyed.”

Referring to the opposition to Hindi by Periyar, Raja claimed it was not out of love for Tamil but to promote English. “There is no greater traitor to the Tamil people than Periyar. Such Tamil haters criticize Brahmins and Tamil culture,” he said.

Raja also addressed controversies surrounding the names of leaders and cultural practices. He alleged that Periyar signed his letters as ‘Ramaswamy Nayakkar’ and criticized the Dravidian movement for considering it shameful to use one’s given name. Raja also recalled an incident involving the late AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa, saying, “When my sister Jayalalithaa called him Karunanidhi, he was offended and she asked how else he should be addressed.”

The BJP leader went on to criticize the Dravidian movement, accusing it of dulling the intellect of the Tamil community. “Do you know how much damage this Dravidian stock has done? The intelligent Tamil community has become dull because of them,” he said.

Raja concluded his speech with a call for action, saying, “We should soon call all communities and hold a meeting against drugs and violence against women.”

The hunger strike highlighted a growing demand for a Brahmin protection law and brought into focus the ideological clashes between proponents of the Dravidian ideology and its critics. Raja concluded his speech with a call for collective action against societal challenges, further intensifying the discourse on Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.

National Anthem Insulted Again By Not Playing In TN Assembly Alleges TN Guv RN Ravi, Walks Out Without Reading Address; Fourth Such Incident Since 2022

National Anthem Insulted Again By Not Playing In TN Assembly Alleges TN Guv RN Ravi, Walks Out Without Reading Address; Fourth Such Incident Since 2022

Yet another instance of disrespect to the national anthem occurred at the Tamil Nadu Assembly today with Governor RN Ravi walking out over this issue on 6 January 2025.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi left the Assembly without delivering his customary address, citing the absence of the National Anthem after the Tamil Thai Vazhthu as the reason. Despite his insistence, the National Anthem was not played, prompting his departure just three minutes into the session.

In a statement on the official X handle, the Governor’s office wrote, The Constitution of Bharat and the National Anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today. Respecting the National Anthem is among the first Fundamental Duty as enshrined in our Constitution. It is sung in all the state legislatures at the beginning and the end of Governor’s address. Today on arrival of Governor to the House only Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu was sung. Governor respectfully reminded the House of its Constitutional Duty. He fervently appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister who is the Leader of the House and the Hon’ble Speaker for singing the National Anthem. However, they cussedly refused. It is a matter of grave concern. Not to be a party to such brazen disrespect to the Constitution and the National Anthem, Governor in deep anguish left the House.

Following the Governor’s departure, Speaker M. Appavu read out the Governor’s speech. The session saw further disruptions, with AIADMK members holding placards and raising slogans demanding justice for a student sexually assaulted at Anna University. Congress members staged a walkout in protest against the Governor’s actions.

Not The First Time

The issue of not playing the National Anthem in the Tamil Nadu Assembly has been a recurring point of contention between the Governor and the state government. On multiple occasions, Governor R.N. Ravi has expressed his disappointment over the failure to include the National Anthem at the beginning and end of Assembly sessions.

2024

During the first session of 2024, the Governor noted with regret that his repeated requests to play the anthem were ignored. He refused to read the address prepared by the state government, citing strong disagreements on factual and moral grounds. Instead, he concluded his brief address with wishes for productive discussions and respect for Tamil Nadu and India.

2023

This pattern was also evident during the 2023 winter session, where Raj Bhavan requested changes to the Governor’s speech, including respect for the National Anthem. However, the state government did not respond. The session saw protests from DMK allies, who disrupted the Governor’s speech with slogans and demonstrations, further straining relations.

2022

In 2022, Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi revealed that the DMK government refused to play the National Anthem in the Assembly, despite his insistence. Before his first address to the Assembly that year, Governor Ravi was informed that the National Anthem was not part of the session’s proceedings. He explicitly requested that it be played at the beginning and end of the session, alongside the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The request was communicated to Speaker Appavu and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and the Governor even sent a formal letter reiterating his appeal. However, the National Anthem was not played, disregarding the Governor’s insistence.

Dravidian Model: Tamil Nadu Police Issues Diktat To Media And Social Media Influencers To Refrain From Commenting About SIT Probe On Anna University Sexual Assault Case

Dravidian Model: Tamil Nadu Police Issues Diktat To Media And Social Media Influencers To Refrain From Commenting About SIT Probe On Anna University Sexual Assault Case

The Tamil Nadu police have issued a statement asking media outlets, individuals, social media influencers, and others to avoid commenting or speculating on the progress of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation into the Anna University sexual assault case. This diktat came after many Tamil mainstream media outlets published news about the developments and alleged outcomes of the SIT probe.

These reports mentioned the survivor confirming that DMK man Gnanasekaran mentioned a “Sir” during the assault, contradicting the statement of Chennai Police Commissioner Arun, who said that the culprit’s phone was in aeroplane mode.

“Spreading unverified information can have severe repercussions for those involved and may compromise the integrity of the investigation,” a statement from the Director General of Police (DGP) office cautioned.

The statement clarified that reports circulating on specific news channels and social media platforms regarding alleged developments in the SIT investigation, led by Dr Bhukya Sneha, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anna Nagar, Chennai, are “entirely baseless” and “false.”

Specifically, the statement addressed rumours claiming the survivor had made a statement implicating the accused in conversations with a person referred to as “Sir,” that the SIT had seized electronic devices containing explicit videos, and that another accused from Tiruppur had been identified. It further emphasized that neither the SIT nor any authorized entity has shared any updates or comments on the progress of the investigation.

Black Dupattas Of Female Students Confiscated In Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s Event, “Fear Has Crept In, What Kind Of Autocracy Is This?” Slams Annamalai

Black Dupattas Of Female Students Confiscated In Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's Event, "Fear Has Crept In, What Kind Of Autocracy Is This?" Slams Annamalai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin-led DMK government was criticised by opposition leaders and netizens after students wearing black dupattas and other black accessories were barred from attending an international seminar commemorating the centenary of the Indus Valley Civilization at the Egmore Government Museum that CM Stalin inaugurated.

The Tamil Nadu Department of Archaeology organized the event, in which the Chief Minister also unveiled a book titled “Indus Valley Scripts and Tamil Nadu Codes: A Geometric Study.”

The seminar saw active participation from college students and researchers. However, a controversy erupted when several students wearing black clothing or accessories, including black dupattas, were barred from entering the venue. Event organizers reportedly confiscated items such as black dupattas, umbrellas, and notebooks brought by the students before allowing them to enter. These items were returned to the students only after the event concluded.

The incident sparked widespread criticism online, with netizens questioning whether the removal of black attire was a precautionary measure to prevent any display of black flags—a traditional symbol of protest—against CM Stalin.

It is deeply ironic that the same DMK, which prides itself on following the ideals of EV Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers), identifies with black as the symbolic color of its political ideology.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai slammed the DMK government saying “Fear has crept in, and they are utterly clueless & have become hopeless. What kind of autocracy is this?

Dindigul BJP Leader Who Exposed Illegal Sales Of Liquor In Broad Daylight Arrested By TN Police

Dindigul West BJP District President Palani Kanagaraj, who exposed a private liquor shop selling alcohol illegally early in the morning in front of the media, has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police. He released a video of the expose on his social media account in which he claimed that the liquor shop and bar were functioning 24 hours illegally, selling alcohol in non-prescribed hours.

Palani Kanagaraj had exposed the liquor shop doing business in the early in the morning after BJP workers were lodged in a marriage hall for attempting to carry out a protest rally against the Anna University Sexual Assault Case. As he was addressing the media reporters, he took them to show the liquor shop selling liquor at 9 AM.

“Come behind me for a minute. This is the marriage hall where we’ve been lodged. Look the police inspector sitting there. Now come and look at the brandy shop here. The time is 9 AM and business is happening. 24 hours this bar is open. Tamil Nadu government and police, the DMK government can’t give protection to women but they’re selling liquor openly in public in the morning. And the inspector is sitting outside with 50 police. This is the reality of the Tamil Nadu police protecting people. This is the proof of the disgusting governance of DMK”, Palanikumar said in the video.

A case was been filed against him for barging inside the private liquor shop and allegedly threatening the workers there. He has been charged under BNS sections 191(2) – punishment for rioting, 329(4) – criminal trespass, 296(b) – obscene acts, 115(2) – voluntarily causing hurt to another person, 351(3) – criminal intimidation by threatening to cause death or grievous hurt, or to cause the destruction of any property by fire.

Chennai’s Rising Drug Menace: Tamil Nadu Becoming A Hub For Synthetic Narcotics As Cartels Operates With Labs

Chennai's Rising Drug Menace: Tamil Nadu Becoming A Hub For Synthetic Narcotics As Cartels Operates With Labs

It seems Tamil Nadu has recently become a major hub for synthetic drug production and trafficking, with drug cartels operating with increasing audacity. These groups have been moving large quantities of narcotics, such as methamphetamines, using private vehicles adorned with party flags, and evading law enforcement while freely roaming the state. The rise in illegal drug operations has exposed the vulnerabilities in the state’s law enforcement system, especially after a massive bust that revealed methamphetamine manufacturing labs within Tamil Nadu itself.

In a significant operation by the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) of Greater Chennai Police, authorities seized 17 kilograms of methamphetamine worth an estimated ₹22 crore in the international market. This led to the dismantling of a methamphetamine production and distribution network, with ten individuals arrested, including a key suspect—a skilled methamphetamine cook and school dropout with a criminal history.

Further investigation uncovered a large drug operation that spanned across the region, leading to raids at various locations. A godown in Vadagarai near RedHills yielded another 15.8 kilograms of methamphetamine and assets valued at ₹5 crore. Among those arrested was Lakshmi Narasimhan, a known drug cook with a background in synthetic drug manufacturing, who was previously involved in a methamphetamine preparation operation in Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar district.

The operation, which began with the arrests of Venkatesan alias Rajesh and Karthi, led investigators to multiple locations tied to the drug network. The seizure included large quantities of methamphetamine and vehicles used for trafficking the drugs. Further investigations revealed the involvement of Prabhu Shanmugam and Murugan, who sourced pseudoephedrine—a key raw material for methamphetamine—from Haryana and Myanmar, further complicating the web of trafficking.

The investigation revealed a startling connection; Venkatesan had been sourcing methamphetamine from Manipur through an individual he befriended while serving a prison sentence for a narcotics-related case in Punjab. While a small lab was set up by his co-conspirators in Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar district, the bulk of the methamphetamine supply came from Manipur.

Venkatesan was involved in supplying pseudoephedrine to Shahul Hameed from Mannadi and Lakshmi Narasimhan from Madurai, while he supplied methamphetamine to Diwan Mohammed of Burma Bazaar. Following Diwan’s arrest by the Muthialpet police two months ago, Venkatesan began providing drugs to Diwan’s driver, Karthik, who was later arrested alongside Venkatesan.

Later, Shahul Hameed, Lakshmi Narasimhan, and several others, including Lawrence, Sarath Kumar, Murugan, and Venkatesan’s wife, Jancy Merida, were apprehended for their roles in aiding and abetting the drug trafficking operation. Additionally, Venkatesan’s former associates in a prior narcotics case, M Prabhu and RV Shanmugam, were also arrested. During the investigation, law enforcement uncovered significant wealth linked to the illicit activities, with assets worth ₹8 crore traced back to Shahul Hameed and Lawrence, highlighting the extent of their involvement in the narcotics trade.

In addition to these operations, several other drug-related arrests were made across the state. The DRI seized hydroponic ganja worth ₹1 crore from a passenger arriving from Thailand, and multiple drug seizures were made at Chennai’s airport and through operations targeting college students and migrant workers. Authorities have also discovered disturbing trends of law enforcement personnel being involved in drug trafficking, with arrests made of police officers accused of peddling narcotics.

These events reflect the increasing challenge law enforcement faces in Tamil Nadu as drug syndicates continue to operate with relative ease, using sophisticated networks to distribute narcotics and expand their reach. As the crackdown intensifies, authorities remain focused on dismantling these cartels and tackling corruption within their ranks.

Hindu Munnani Calls For Probe Into Contraceptive Implant Without Patient’s Consent At Tirunelveli Govt Hospital

Second Victim Alleges Forced Sterilization At Tirunelveli Government Hospital, After Hindu Munnani Functionary's Arrest Who Raised The Issue

The Hindu Munnani has called for the formation of a judge-led inquiry committee to investigate the incident where a woman was allegedly implanted with a contraceptive device without her consent at the Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital.

The Hindu Munnani, via its official account, issued a statement detailing the events after the woman was admitted to Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital on 25 November for childbirth. After delivering her baby, the doctors reportedly inserted a contraceptive device, Cap-T, without informing the woman or her family.

The woman is now in critical condition due to complications arising from the improper implantation of the device. Her family has lodged an official complaint regarding the incident. Hindu Munnani condemned such actions, stating that conducting medical procedures under the guise of government-promoted family planning is illegal and always targets Hindu women.

The organization has demanded that the victim receive high-quality medical treatment and that a judge-led inquiry committee be formed to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Hindu Munnani said, “Mrs. Karthika, who was admitted to Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital for delivery last month,  who gave birth to her first child was implanted with a contraceptive device by the hospital staff without prior notice or consent. Due to the improper implantation of a contraceptive device, her health has worsened, and she is now being readmitted to the hospital for intensive treatment.

Condemning the ongoing practice of forced sterilization targeting only Hindus, Hindu Munnani State Secretary K. Kutralanathan today led a petition to Tirunelveli Municipal District General Secretary K Brahma nayakam and Tirunelveli Zone Public Health and Welfare Department Joint Director Mrs Latha, demanding appropriate action against the doctors involved.

The victim’s father, Gandhi, along with Hindu Munnani District Executive Committee members Vel Senthil Kumar, Ramesh Kannan, Palayamkottai Zone General Secretary Selvaraj, and Palayamkottai Union Secretary Ganesan, were also present.”
