Annual Maintenance Of ₹1779 Not Paid Since 2019: Is The Kerala Communist Govt Using False Allegations Of Caste Discrimination To Cover Up Gross Financial Mismanagement In Koodalmanikyam Temple?

kerala communist govt temple

The Koodalmanikyam Temple in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, Kerala has become the latest battleground where the state government, aided by sections of the media, is pushing a false narrative of caste discrimination to divert attention from its shocking mismanagement of the shrine. In March 2025, outlets like Asianet News, The News Minute, SouthFirst, and Onmanorama started peddling claims of caste bias.

However, a closer look at the facts reveals what looks like a calculated strategy: caste allegations are being used as a diversion to hide a far more serious issue—gross mismanagement of temple resources and illegal government interference in religious institutions.

The Manufactured Caste Controversy

The controversy centers on the appointment of BA Balu, a non-hereditary candidate, as a kazhakakar—a role that involves performing minor ritual duties such as tying garlands and carrying lamps during temple processions. The media quickly framed the tantris’ (priests’) objections to his appointment as an act of caste discrimination. However, key facts dismantle this narrative:

No Caste-Based Objection: The tantris explicitly opposed the appointment on grounds of hereditary rights, not caste. The temple has 12 families traditionally serving as kazhakams, and their livelihoods depend on these roles.

The Appointee Himself Denied Discrimination: BA Balu, the Ezhava community member at the center of the row, stated he never faced caste-based exclusion from temple authorities.

Illegal Govt Takeover: The Kerala High Court had ruled that the state’s takeover of Koodalmanikyam Temple was illegal, yet the government continues to control it—raising questions about its motives.

This orchestrated caste narrative serves a dual purpose:

  1. Diverting attention from the Devaswom Board’s massive administrative failures.
  2. Justifying continued government control over the temple by portraying it as a “progressive” move against casteism.

High Court Questions Government’s Motive

The Kerala High Court has questioned the very need for appointing non-hereditary individuals to such posts, especially when hereditary custodians are still actively serving. The government, through the Devaswom Board, has so far failed to provide a satisfactory answer. The judiciary’s involvement exposes how shaky the government’s justification truly is. Yet, rather than addressing the court’s concerns, the narrative in the public sphere continues to focus on caste—thanks to a complicit media machinery.

The Real Scandal: Alarming Mismanagement

While the government and media cry “caste discrimination,” they ignore far more serious issues. Under the Kerala government’s control, the Koodalmanikyam Temple has suffered massive administrative failures. According to statements made by the Devaswom Minister in the Kerala Assembly, over 5,568 acres of temple land are under encroachment. An RTI response received in 2024 further revealed that no audits have been conducted in the temple since 2019, despite the ongoing public ritual of reading out income-expenditure reports before the deity—effectively deceiving devotees.

The government’s administration of the temple has been marred by incompetence. The land records of the temple were lost in a mysterious
fire shortly after the government took over. This negligence further undermines the government’s credibility in managing the temple.

In addition, the temple has not received annual rent for its Kanam lands since 2003, and land annuities as meager as ₹1,779 in Aluva have not been paid since 2019. This shows that the government’s control over temples is not only ineffective but deeply negligent. Yet, the same administration wants the public to believe that they are intervening to bring justice and social reform.

The mismanagement doesn’t end with land and audits—it also extends to blatant financial irregularities. In a shocking example from 2015, Koodalmanikyam Devaswom officials appointed by the then UDF (Congress-led) government paid an additional ₹50,000 to actress Isha Talwar simply because she arrived late by a day to perform at the Irinjalakkuda Ulsavam due to disruptions in Konkan Railway traffic. It is almost unheard of for an artist to be paid extra for arriving late, yet this is precisely how temple funds—donated in good faith by devotees—have been misused under successive Congress and Communist governments in Kerala. Such incidents highlight the casual and cavalier approach these governments have taken towards the sanctity of temple finances.

Why The Caste Card? A Smokescreen For Failure

The Kerala government’s sudden “caste justice” rhetoric is a calculated distraction from its abysmal temple administration. There seems to be no genuine interest in social justice: If the government truly cared about backward communities, why are SC/ST employees only appointed as toilet cleaners in temples? Why no accountants or senior roles? Media outlets ignore cases like Parassinikkadavu and Varkala temples, where non-hereditary appointments were made without controversy.

By framing hereditary traditions as “casteist,” the government justifies greater control over Hindu temples, while Christian and Muslim institutions remain autonomous.

Hiding Incompetence Behind Identity Politics

The sudden and aggressive framing of the controversy in caste terms begins to make sense when viewed in this context. Faced with mounting evidence of corruption, negligence, and violations of temple law, the Kerala government has chosen to launch a distraction campaign. By stoking communal emotions and casting the tantris as oppressors, the government attempts to mask its abject failures.

The hypocrisy is staggering: while Scheduled Caste individuals are appointed to clean toilets in temples, none are found in higher administrative or financial roles within the Devaswom Board. This exposes the government’s selective outrage and tokenism, undermining its claims of fighting caste discrimination.

A Systematic Erosion Of Hindu Institutions

The Koodalmanikyam controversy is not an isolated incident but part of a larger pattern. From denying hereditary rights to temple workers, to ignoring court rulings declaring government takeover illegal, to manipulating land records, the state appears to be systematically weakening Hindu institutions while cloaking its actions in the language of social justice. The Supreme Court’s verdict in the Shivacharyar case, which upheld the sanctity of hereditary temple custodianship, has been conveniently ignored by the same actors who now cry foul over caste.

The Devotees See Through The Drama

The Kerala government’s ploy is becoming increasingly transparent. The tactic of raising caste discrimination as a cover for bureaucratic corruption and mismanagement is not just unethical—it is dangerous. It erodes public trust, divides communities, and undermines the very traditions that have preserved these temples for centuries. The days of theatrics are numbered. Devotees are beginning to see through the deception, and the call for accountability is growing louder.

“Consider Separating RTE Funds From Samagra Shiksha Allocation To Tamil Nadu”, Madras High Court Tells Centre

madras high court rte samagra shiksha funds allocation

The Madras High Court directed the Union Ministry of Education to consider separating the ₹200 crore earmarked for Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) reimbursements from the ₹2,151.59 crore total pending disbursal under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme (SSS) to the Tamil Nadu government. The court’s observation comes amid a standoff between the Centre and the State over the non-adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by Tamil Nadu.

The Division Bench of Justices G.R. Swaminathan and V. Lakshminarayanan made it clear that the Tamil Nadu government cannot use the non-receipt of Central funds as an excuse to evade its statutory obligation to reimburse private schools admitting students under the RTE Act.

“The State government has an obligation to reimburse private unaided schools. Non-receipt of funds from the Union Government cannot be cited as a reason to wriggle out of this statutory obligation,” the court stated.

The bench noted that although the Centre had raised issues over releasing Samagra Shiksha funds due to Tamil Nadu’s resistance to implementing the NEP, that dispute should not affect obligations under the RTE Act of 2009. “Section 7 of the RTE Act states that the Central government and the State governments have concurrent responsibility for providing funds for carrying out the provisions of the Act… Therefore, funds payable to the State Government representing the Central Government’s share towards discharging the RTE obligations need not be linked to NEP 2020,” the judges observed.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation seeking directions to the State government to begin RTE admissions for the 2025–26 academic year without delay. During the hearing, Additional Advocate General J. Ravindran informed the court that the State was unable to reimburse private schools on time due to the Centre withholding funds.

He added that for the academic year 2022–23, Tamil Nadu had borne the entire ₹188.99 crore RTE reimbursement cost.

In response to this, the court suo motu impleaded the Union Ministry of Education as a respondent and requested Additional Solicitor General (ASG) A.R.L. Sundaresan to obtain instructions from the Centre.

The ASG argued that Samagra Shiksha is an integrated scheme aligned with NEP 2020, covering education from pre-school to Class 12. He said Tamil Nadu’s refusal to adopt the NEP had led to difficulties in disbursing funds, and that the RTE Act’s implementation was primarily the responsibility of the State.

Disagreeing, the judges held that both Centre and State share responsibility under the RTE Act. “We are not in a position to issue any binding direction in this regard,” they said, but added that the Centre must “consider” separating the RTE component from the overall Samagra Shiksha allocation and disbursing it independently.

Authoring the judgment, Justice Swaminathan quoted former Chief Justice of the United States Earl Warren: “Today, education is perhaps the most important function of the state… It is doubtful any child may reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of education.”

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has refused to grant urgent hearing to Tamil Nadu’s plea seeking the release of Samagra Shiksha funds withheld by the Centre.

sion koliwada mla vaikasi iakam evl yatra captain tamil selvan

On the auspicious occasion of Vaikasi Visakam, observed to celebrate the birth of the Hindu deity Murugan, Sion Koliwada MLA Tamil Selvan led an elaborate Vel Yatra through the streets of Mumbai. The procession began at Nirmal Nagar and concluded at Maheshwari Udyan, with scores of devotees participating in the spiritual journey.

As the sacred Vel made its way through the streets, the atmosphere was filled with chants of “Arogara!” in reverence to Lord Murugan. The faithful shouted in unison, “Vetri Vel Muruganukku Arogara! Vetri Vel Muruganukku Arogara!” expressing deep devotion and unity.

MLA Tamil Selvan took to his official X account to share moments from the event. In one post, he wrote, “On the occasion of Shri Kartikeya Swami Jayanti, a grand Vel Yatra from Nirmal Nagar to Maheshwari Udyan filled the streets with spiritual energy.”

In another update, he reflected on the significance of the event, “A moving display of faith and unity. As the sacred Vel Yatra made its way from Nirmal Nagar to Maheshwari Udyan, chants of devotion echoed through the streets, filling the air with the spirit of Shri Kartikeya Swami Jayanti.”

Additional visuals and updates were shared on his social media handle.

What Is Vaikasi Visakam?

Vaikasi Visakam is a Tamil Hindu festival observed during the full moon that coincides with the Visakam star in the Tamil month of Vaikasi (May–June). The day commemorates the birth of Lord Murugan, also known as Kartikeya or Subramanya, who is revered as the god of war and wisdom.

According to the Kanda Puranam the Tamil retelling of the Skanda Purana three powerful asuras (demonic beings), Surapadman, Singamukhan, and Tarakasuran, performed intense penance to appease Lord Shiva. In return, they were granted formidable boons that made them nearly invincible, leading to widespread tyranny across the cosmos.

To end their reign of terror, the devas (celestial beings) appealed to Shiva, who responded by creating six divine sparks—one from each of his six faces. These sparks were first carried by the wind god Vayu, then passed on to the fire god Agni due to their searing heat. Agni deposited them into the sacred Ganga river, which began to evaporate under the intense heat. The goddess Ganga then transported the sparks to Saravana Poigai, a celestial lake, where each spark transformed into a child.

These six divine children were nurtured by celestial maidens known as the Krittikas. Later, the goddess Parvati united them into one form giving rise to the six-headed deity, Murugan.

Chennai Class 11 Student Hospitalized In Critical Condition After Injecting Drugs Purchased Online

chennai class 11 student injecting drugs

A disturbing incident involving a Class 11 student in Chennai has sparked widespread concern after he was hospitalized in critical condition due to suspected drug usage. Medical examinations revealed that the teenager had been injecting drugs, prompting immediate intervention and intensive care treatment.

According to reports, the student had been experiencing unexplained health issues for several days. Alarmed by the sudden deterioration, his parents rushed him to a local hospital. Upon medical evaluation, doctors discovered signs consistent with drug needle use and confirmed that his condition was extremely serious. He is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.

Following the incident, Thousand Lights police has launched an investigation. When questioned, the student and his parents revealed that he had acquired the drug needles through an online platform. This revelation has raised alarms about the role of e-commerce and digital marketplaces in facilitating access to dangerous substances.

Thousand lights police are now tracking the source of the online purchase, aiming to identify the sellers, the supply chain, and any other individuals involved. The case has intensified concerns about the growing trend of substance abuse among school-aged children and the increasing accessibility of narcotics through the internet.

The incident has sparked public outcry, with many calling for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent the sale of drugs online. Parents, educators, and health professionals are urging authorities to take immediate steps to protect young people from falling into addiction.

DMK-Supporting Periyarist Derogates People With ‘Shah’ Surname To ‘Shoe’ To Target HM Amit Shah

periyarist amit shah

M. Mathivadhani, Deputy General Secretary of the Dravidar Kazhagam, has stirred controversy after making derogatory remarks about Union Home Minister Amit Shah and mocking individuals with the surname ‘Shah,’ comparing it to a ‘shoe.’

A video of her comments, which has since gone viral, has drawn widespread criticism. Many social media users and political figures have condemned the remarks, calling them offensive and demanding a public apology from Mathivadhani.

In the now-circulating video, Mathivadhani can be heard saying, the Home Minister Amit Shah, everyone talked about him. It’s not just Amit Shah, even if it’s Shah, Shoe, or whoever comes, the BJP cannot win even a single seat in Tamil Nadu. Knowing they cannot get even a single seat, they are coming along with the ADMK. The ADMK also cannot win even a single seat because you are with the BJP. They went and asked Amit Shah why you didn’t provide the jobs for the two-crore people. Home Minister Amit Shah replied ‘Jhumla’. It means he said it casually (summa sonaru). In which country would this kind of joke happen? Would this mockery happen? Would people believe this? At a time when the youth are looking for employment, last week, not like 20 or 30 years ago, a news report came out last week in India Today stating that Tamil Nadu is the leading state in India in the manufacturing sector.”

This kind of targeting individuals based on caste or surnames is not new to Periyarist sympathizer Mathivadhani. In a previous incident, following a legal setback for the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, she made similarly controversial remarks. On 21 May 2025, the Madras High Court comprising Justices G.R. Swaminathan and V. Lakshminarayan issued an interim stay on the state government’s amendments that aimed to strip the Governor of the authority to appoint Vice-Chancellors in state-run universities. Reacting to the ruling, Mathivadhani referenced the words of E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (also called as Periyar) to criticize the judgment, insinuating that when Brahmins hold judicial positions, the verdicts tend to reflect caste bias. Her remarks drew widespread backlash for casting aspersions on the judiciary and promoting divisive rhetoric.

She stated “A country where the Paapan (derogatory slur denoting Brahmins) becomes the judge and the ruler is like a jungle inhabited by a ferocious tiger. That is why we are engaged in a tiger hunt. When the tiger leaps, one or two people are bound to get hit! – Thanthai Periyar”

The Metropolitan Police are investigating a reported racially aggravated assault that left three young men injured in what has been described as a “violent and unprovoked” attack at Harrow Recreation Ground on the evening of Friday, 30 May 2025.

According to a statement released by the police, officers were called to the park at approximately 18:11 PM following reports of a fight involving several individuals. Emergency responders from the London Ambulance Service also attended the scene, where three men—two aged 20 and one aged 21—were found with injuries.

Police confirmed that one of the victims, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a head injury. The two other men reportedly made their way to the hospital later that evening. Authorities have stated that none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life changing.

A family member of one of the victims told Harrow Online that the assault had been particularly brutal, alleging that two of the three young men were left unconscious during the incident. She said that all three had suffered serious injuries.

She further claimed that the suspects had questioned the victims about their ethnicity shortly before the violence began, which she believed made the incident a racially motivated attack. “We are urgently looking for anyone who may have seen something—even a small detail can help support the police investigation,” she said.

The victims, Hindu, were described as being attacked by a group of men believed to be in their mid-to-late 20s. According to the family, the suspects were described as tall, with light brown skin. One of the men allegedly had long hair and a beard.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a racially aggravated assault and have appealed for witnesses. Authorities have asked anyone who may have information or relevant footage from the area around Harrow Recreation Ground at the time of the incident to come forward.

No arrests have been made so far. The investigation remains ongoing.

From Innovation To Indoctrination: The Hijacking Of IITs Through ‘Humanities’

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), which produces world-class technocrats, scientists, thinkers and innovators, are increasingly becoming breeding grounds for leftist, Marxist and extremist ideologues who have nothing to do with science, innovation, or nation-building.

Instead of encouraging critical thinking and technological excellence, a section of faculty and students are now focused on pushing communist, revisionist, anti-Hindu and anti-national narratives. Their aim appears not to create knowledge but to corrupt young minds, glorify failed revolutions, and transform these institutions into echo chambers of leftist dogma.

All of this is being done under the convenient shield of “freedom of speech and expression.” Professors who were hired to teach engineering and technology now indulge in rewriting history, distorting facts, and indoctrinating students with ideological poison. The result? A decline in academic seriousness and a rise in polarization with a politicized campus culture.

The following examples illustrate how these institutions have become leftist strongholds, where faculty indoctrination has hijacked the academic space, leading to an unhealthy and unproductive learning environment.

IIT Gandhinagar

Promoting Islamist Theology

In late April 2025, the Humanities Department of IIT Gandhinagar was under the spotlight. You wonder why? For promoting ideologically charged research topics, many of which center around Islamic theology. The situation has sparked national concern, with calls for the Ministry of Education and the IIT Council to investigate the use of taxpayer-funded resources for what critics are calling “ideological indoctrination.”

MA-level thesis topics such as:

  • “Robes of Authority: Sunni Ulama, Sartorial Tradition, and Embodied Piety in Malabar”
  • “Fishing With Faith: Islam, Indigenous Knowledge and Ecological Sustainability in Lakshadweep”
  • “From Gods to Jinn: Ontological Rewriting and the Islamization of Spirits in Kerala”

…have raised eyebrows across the academic and public spectrum.

These projects, approved by faculty members including Nishaant Choksi, Rosa Maria Perez, Madhumita Sengupta, and Sharada Visweswara, have been criticized for veering away from academic neutrality and into religious glorification. Hindu students have alleged discrimination, stating they were discouraged or even threatened when questioning the ideological tilt of the department.

An internal email by Prof. Choksi, warning students of “consequences” for leaking information about these theses, has further fueled claims of intimidation and lack of transparency.

Administrative Silence And Selective Permissions

Adding to the discontent, several students report a pattern of selective administrative decisions that they believe demonstrate institutional bias. For instance, permission for a candlelight vigil in memory of jawans killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam was reportedly denied, while events perceived as sympathetic to the Palestinian cause were allowed in the wake of the October 7 Hamas attack.

Diwali celebrations allegedly faced restrictions, while events critical of Hindu beliefs—like readings from Riddles in Hinduism on Mahashivratri—were permitted without issue.

A student group named Awaam has come under scrutiny for its programming, which has included lectures on “Brahminical Oppression of Women” and birthday celebrations for EV Ramasamy Naicker, a controversial Dravidianist demagogue known for his anti-Hindu rhetoric.

Associate Professor Dr. Amit Arora Supporting Separatist Umar Khalid And Hamas Sympathizers

Associate Professor Dr. Amit Arora, a faculty member in the Department of Materials Engineering, recently drew public backlash for his controversial political views shared on social media. Though trained in numerical modeling, additive manufacturing, and friction stir welding, Arora reportedly used his now-deleted X account to support controversial figures such as Umar Khalid—an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case—and to mock India’s diplomatic actions during Operation Sindoor. He also appeared to sympathize with Hamas supporters among American students while lamenting Islamophobia.

Critics argue that such behavior is unbecoming of a professor in a taxpayer-funded technical institute and raises serious concerns about the ideological environment being cultivated for young engineering students.

In one post, responding to a leftist handle that is known to spew venom on traditional Indian/Hindu practices, on the topic of using the name Bharat instead of the name India, Prof Arora replied, “Bharat is their Brahminical, oppressive, and bigoted version of the actual united secular India.” – a very typical reponse by a leftist, Prof Arora proving over and over again his loyalties towards the left by displaying hate for anything Indic or traditional as well as tagging everything as “Brahminical” as is expected of a true-blue leftist.

Serious Allegations Of Grooming Culture

Concerns extend beyond ideological leanings. Allegations of inappropriate professor-student relationships, including instances of professors drinking with female students and even marrying them, have been quietly circulating in academic circles. While most lack hard evidence, a few past incidents—such as a dismissed professor from IIT Bombay—have given these whispers some weight. The normalization of such behavior in elite campuses is being viewed with increasing alarm by both parents and academic watchdogs.

IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay Invites Leftist Theatre Artist, Glorifies Hamas & Gun Culture

The Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department at IIT Bombay landed in controversy after inviting Sudhanva Deshpande, a radical left-leaning actor and director associated with the Jana Natya Manch (Janam)—a Delhi-based leftist theatre collective. Deshpande, during a virtual lecture hosted by Professor Sharmishtha Saha, made highly contentious remarks praising Hamas-linked figures and defending armed insurgency as a form of resistance.

In his address, Deshpande recounted his visit to Palestine in 2015, where he met Zakaria Zubeidi, a known militant figure. Zubeidi was the former head of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades in Jenin, a group labeled a terrorist organization by numerous global entities including Israel, the European Union, the United States, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand. He has been implicated in the 2002 Beit She’an terrorist attack, which left six civilians dead, and was arrested again in 2019 for orchestrating shooting attacks on civilian targets in the West Bank.

Despite Zubeidi’s known terror affiliations, Deshpande described the encounter in admiring terms. He further quoted Ghassan Kanafani, a Marxist-Leninist figure associated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)—another internationally recognized terrorist organization. Deshpande cited Kanafani’s infamous assertion, “In order to have liberation, we need guns… It has to be an armed struggle.”

Doubling down on this narrative, Deshpande appeared to justify the normalization of armed conflict, saying, “If we don’t have the culture to go with the guns, the guns will turn on us… we will start killing each other.”

He described the Palestinian assault on Israel not as terrorism but as a “freedom struggle,” stating, “There has never been a freedom struggle in the history of colonialism that has been 100% non-violent… What you see in Palestine today is a continuation of that same model of resistance.”

His statements have triggered sharp criticism from academic observers and civil society, who argue that IIT Bombay, a premier taxpayer-funded STEM institution, has allowed politically motivated and ideologically extreme voices to dominate platforms meant for academic engagement.

Double Standards of ‘Secularism’

Similarly, IIT Bombay faced criticism over its contradictory stance on food segregation after the administration was seen facilitating elaborate meal arrangements for Ramadan while previously “refusing” its approval for vegetarian-only tables, calling it “exclusionary and casteist.”

An internal email sent by the General Secretary (Health Advisory HA) on behalf of “Ramadan volunteers” informed students about Sehri (pre-dawn meal) arrangements for those observing the fast. Hostels were divided into zones for easy access, and meals would be delivered to female hostels based on headcount. Students interested in availing of the facility were asked to register.

However, this move ignited accusations of selective religious favoritism. IIT-B buckled under pressure for a decision to allocate just a few tables for vegetarian students.

In 2023, posters marking “vegetarians only” seating areas appeared in a hostel mess, triggering outrage from the Ambedkar Periyar Phule Study Circle (APPSC). The posters were torn down, and RTI inquiries later confirmed that IIT-B has no official policy allowing separate eating spaces. The administration followed up with a warning email, declaring that no student had the right to designate areas for specific food preferences.

Even though the vegetarian-only tables were open to all castes and religions, the move was labeled discriminatory” and a Brahminical imposition. Some activist students even went as far as to deliberately consume non-vegetarian food at those tables in protest.

Yet, the same faculty and student groups that opposed vegetarian tables have raised no objections to Ramadan-specific dining arrangements. This has led to allegations that IIT-B selectively enforces its so-called secular principles—opposing dietary preferences linked to Hindu and Jain traditions while bending over backward to accommodate Islamic practices.

This extends beyond seating arrangements. While vegetarian tables were deemed casteist, halal food remains unquestioned on campus. Critics argue that if separate tables for vegetarians were seen as divisive, then so should halal-only meat, which actively excludes non-Muslim butchers. However, IIT-B faculty and leftist student groups remain silent on this inconsistency.

One of those leftist “professors” who was at the forefront of these anti-Hindu/Jain activities was Suryakant Waghmore.

However, with Ramadan meal arrangements being officially coordinated by the administration, many ask why IIT Bombay applies different rules depending on the religion in question.

Assistant Professor Supporting Hamas Sympathizer

Anupam Guha, a professor at IIT Bombay, came under scrutiny after voicing support for Indian American student Megha Vemuri, who was recently barred from attending her graduation ceremony at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Vemuri, the president of MIT’s Class of 2025, was reportedly prevented from participating after delivering an anti-Israel speech during an official event on 29 May 2025.

In a post on X, Guha commented, “That MIT student has courage and did an admirable thing. At her age, I might not have gone that far.” His statement quickly gained widespread attention and sparked debate online.

Following this, Guha has come under scrutiny not just for this specific statement, but also for his broader history of political commentary and activism. He frequently used his social media to promote leftist political ‘extremist’ ideologies, especially through his focus on humanities and technology policy.

Support For Anti-Sterlite Agitation 2018

Guha has previously supported several controversial protests, including the 2018 anti-Sterlite agitation in Tamil Nadu. That movement led to the permanent closure of the Sterlite copper plant after violent demonstrations resulted in the deaths of 13 people. The shutdown significantly impacted India’s copper production, turning the country from a net exporter to a net importer.

In his post, he wrote, “Capitalism cannot function without State terrorism. Perfect example of that is the Sterlite protest. My solidarity with the tens of thousands of brave protestors resisting for years that copper smelting plant resulting in nine martyrs. Down with Vedanta!”

Criticizing Abrogation Of Article 370

In addition, Guha has been vocal in his opposition to the amendment of Article 370 in 2019, which ended Jammu and Kashmir’s special constitutional status. He described the move as “constitutionally illegitimate.”

In his post, he stated, “Read this sharp and detailed explainer by @MaLawdy on why what happened is most probably constitutionally illegitimate firstpost.com/india/understa…”

Anti-CAA & NRC

His social media activity during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) protests in 2020 also drew attention. Guha actively participated in campus demonstrations and encouraged IIT Bombay students to join a march “to save the Constitution.”

He stated, “For the last 8 days the faculty, students, staff and people in IITB have protested in a row, against NRC-CAA-NPR and against the brutality done on various campuses. There were teach ins, songs, and discussions. Today will be the last protest and a march. Come in large numbers.”

Distortive Propaganda with Leftists

Furthermore, Guha has written so much that reflects Marxist and separatist perspectives on the Kashmir issue, including writings by authors like Aatina Nasir Malik and Khadeeja Raina, which explore themes of childhood and violence in conflict zones.

Anupam Guha, also expressed strong opposition to the use of the term ‘tukde tukde gang’, going so far as to label those who use it as akin to terrorists in his view.

Guha wrote, “Not just an enabler. A participant in stochastic terrorism.” In another post he stated, “They are quite adept at destroying data. Everything must be archived. And yes, one day the whole lot will be prosecuted.”

Advocating Radical Communism

Guha is also associated with the Kosambi Circle, a Communist group he founded that explores Marxist and revolutionary political thought. The group engages with works by thinkers such as M.N. Roy and M.P.T. Acharya.

In related threads, Guha’s involvement with The Collective, a communist organization, is also noted. He has been a speaker at their events, including a workshop held on International Working Women’s Day that focused on systemic issues in labor and employment.

The Collective also had a problem with Maoist neutralisation that took place recently. They called it ‘Adivasi genocide’!. On their handle, they wrote, “We will not forget the extrajudicial killing of CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Com. Nambala Keshava Rao (Basavaraj) and 26 martyrs amid call for ceasefire and peace talks! Stop Adivasi genocide for corporate plunder in the name of Operation Kagaar!”

Anupam Guha openly identifies as a communist and is accused of using his academic platform to advocate for radical ideological positions.

IIT Bombay PhD Scholar Accused Of Sexual Assault

A minor (then 17) accused Adarsh Priyadarshi, a leftist IIT Bombay PhD scholar, of sexual assault and forcibly kissing her despite refusal. The victim, now going public after failed private resolutions, alleges Priyadarshi (then 24) still retains his academic platform and left-liberal connections unchecked. She claims she engaged with him due to shared political circles before the incident. Despite her prior warnings in these circles, no action was taken, forcing her to expose him publicly. Priyadarshi has blocked her on social media.

It is not just these two IITs, there’s more!

IIT Guwahati

Student Declares ISIS Affiliation

In March 2024, Tauseef Ali Farooqui, a biotechnology student at IIT Guwahati, was detained by Assam Police after he publicly declared allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) in a disturbing post on LinkedIn. His post described India as a “land of non-believers,” and he issued an ultimatum for conversion to Islam or the threat of consequences. This triggered swift action by state and central security agencies.

In his open letter, Farooqui denounced the Indian Constitution and claimed loyalty solely to Allah. He vowed to migrate Muslims to the ISIS-controlled Khorasan Province and called upon “non-believers” to confront him, declaring that all land belonged to Allah. He warned those who failed to repent would face dire outcomes—language that drew serious concern from intelligence authorities.

Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) launched an immediate operation. Additional SP Kalyan Pathak confirmed that surveillance was activated at the airport, but Farooqui was eventually traced to Hajo, a town near Guwahati. He was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated. Authorities noted his preference for isolation and signs of potential radicalization.

This arrest came just days after Assam Police apprehended Haris Farooqi, one of the most wanted ISIS operatives in India, on 20 March 2024. Farooqi, originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, had been involved in ISIS-related activities since 2019. He was arrested alongside his associate Anurag Singh (alias Rehan)—a convert to Islam from Panipat, whose wife is a Bangladeshi national.

Farooqi is believed to have played a key role in radicalizing Indian youth and creating ISIS sleeper cells across multiple states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Punjab, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh. He is also known to have handled recruitment, funding, and training in improvised explosive devices (IEDs), drawing parallels with Indian Mujahideen’s Yasin Bhatkal.

His name had surfaced earlier during the July 2023 arrest of Faizan Ansari, a 19-year-old AMU student, who reportedly encountered radical elements near the university. Intelligence agencies believe Farooqi ran covert online operations to circulate ISIS propaganda and enlist vulnerable youth for terrorist activities.

Assam’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), STF, Parthasarathi Mahanta, detailed the crackdown: “We began operations on 18  March after receiving intel about ISIS infiltration. On 19 March, a search was conducted in Dharmashala, Dhubri. These individuals were attempting to flee on foot. We had facial recognition data which confirmed their identities.”

He added, “Since the NIA already had pending cases against them, the suspects were handed over. We now aim to trace any sleeper cells they may have activated within Assam.”

IIT Madras

Student’s Woke Statement Sympathizing For Palestine

Dhananjay Balakrishnan, a student from the Mechanical Engineering department at IIT Madras, was awarded the Governor’s Prize during the institute’s convocation ceremony—an honor recognizing the best overall proficiency in both academics and extracurriculars among Dual Degree students.

Balakrishnan, who completed an interdisciplinary dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Data Science, used his convocation address to make virtue-signaling and political statements. He began by saying he would be doing “a great injustice” to his beliefs if he stayed silent.

He said, This is a call for action. There is a mass genocide going on in Palestine. People are dying in vast numbers and there is no visible end in sight. Why should we be bothered by this you ask? Because STEM as a field in itself has historically been used to advance the ulterior motives of the imperial powers such as Israel. As engineering students, we work very hard to get top-level jobs at tech giants which offer very lucrative pays and great benefits. However, these tech giants control various aspects of our lives today as you know better than anyone. Many of these prestigious companies are also directly and indirectly implicated in the war against Palestine by providing the state of Israel with technology, technology that is used to kill.”

Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle’s Notoriety

Ambedkar Periyar Study circle is a notorious group which while identifying itself as ‘group of socially concerned’ students who espouse ‘rational and secular’ thinking. However, APSC and its offshoots in other educational institutes like IIT-Bombay, IIT Delhi and JNU are more commonly known for spewing venom against Prime Minister Modi. The members of the group through social media also spread venom against other communities under the garb of ’empowerment’.

The Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle (APSC) organized a “beef festival” in 2017 to protest against the Union Government’s cattle trade restrictions.

Following this, PhD student R. Sooraj, who participated in the event and was associated with APSC, was allegedly present in the Jain mess. Media reports claimed Sooraj was attacked while dining in a vegetarian mess, and images of his injuries were widely shared.

However, the incident began with a verbal exchange after Manish questioned Sooraj’s presence at the Jain mess. According to reports, Sooraj made provocative remarks, which led to a fight where both students were injured—Manish sustained a fractured hand, while Sooraj had facial injuries. An IIT Madras spokesperson confirmed that both students were hurt in the altercation.

In September 2015, during the Jain festival Paryushan, there was meat ban in parts of the country for the eight days, as a mark of respect to the Jain community. Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle referred to it as ‘Jain appeasement’.

Institutes Of Technology Not Ideology

The creeping ideological takeover of IITs, under the guise of academic freedom, threatens to erode the very foundations of these institutions. Funded by the Indian taxpayer to produce engineers and scientists, they now risk being repurposed as hubs for activism, ideological grooming, and cultural subversion. It’s time the Ministry of Education, IIT Council, and concerned citizens demand transparency, neutrality, and a return to the original mandate of these elite campuses.

IITs were built to create engineers, innovators, pioneers. Not radical communists.

Congress Aborted 1995 Nuclear Test Under US Pressure, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Reveals

BJP Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey, citing declassified documents, has alleged that the Congress government, under pressure from the United States, aborted plans to conduct a nuclear test in 1995. He claimed that fear of American backlash influenced the decision, despite initial readiness by then Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. “Go back and read the history of how Rahul Gandhi, whom I call ‘Rahul Baba,’ gets scared of America,” Dubey said in a post on X on Wednesday.

“In 1995, Prime Minister Narasimha Rao had decided to carry out a nuclear test, but confidential information was leaked — allegedly by a senior minister or government official — to the United States.” Dubey further claimed that the leak prompted direct intervention from the US President, who reportedly contacted the Indian Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary via an urgent nighttime telegram requesting a meeting. “Charge d’Affairs is instructed to arrange a meeting with PMO Principal Secretary Varma for Ambassador Wisner upon his return to New Delhi,” the classified document’s relevant portion shared by Dubey reads. According to Dubey, this pressure led the Congress government to abandon the test out of apprehension.

“In contrast, when the BJP came to power under Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1998, we proceeded with the nuclear tests at Pokhran despite facing international sanctions and diplomatic pressure,” he said. “Prime Minister Modi has shown similar resolve in recent years. Rahul Gandhi should study history and reflect,” Dubey added. Earlier on Monday, Dubey called for an investigation into the alleged historical ties between the Nehru-Gandhi family and China. He based his demand on “revelation” from declassified documents related to the 1961 Belgrade Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). “Rahul Baba, do you know that at China’s behest, your family’s patriarch Nehru ji created the new gimmick of non-aligned countries? Look at the member countries of the first conference in Belgrade in 1961. After isolating India from both Russia and America, did any country come to India’s defence during or after the 1962 war with China?” Dubey had asked.

DMK Stooge Kamal Haasan Allegedly Paying Insta Influencers To Post Positive Reviews About Thug Life

Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped film Thug Life, starring an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan (Simbu), Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others, has landed in hot water following its theatrical release. Far from meeting expectations, the film has been met with harsh criticism from fans and critics alike, many calling it “a very bad movie” and “a career low” for the acclaimed filmmaker.

Disappointed fans took to social media, expressing disbelief that a director of Mani Ratnam’s stature could deliver what they called a “disjointed and dull” cinematic experience.

However, what has truly ignited controversy is the reported response from the film’s producer, veteran actor Kamal Haasan. In an attempt to counter the negative reception, sources suggest that Raj Kamal Films International (RKFI), Kamal Haasan’s production house, allegedly paid Instagram influencers and social media personalities to promote Thug Life with positive reviews.

According to social media chatter and self-described fans of Kamal Haasan, a coordinated pattern of damage control began surfacing shortly after the film’s negative reviews flooded online platforms. Instagram reels and posts began appearing from influencers and couple vloggers—many of whom had never previously commented on films—suddenly praising Thug Life and urging viewers to ignore public reviews.

One video, which has since gone viral, features a fan stating, “If you noticed Instagram reels in the past few days, everyone was mocking the film. Then came a sudden wave of influencers saying the opposite—claiming they never review films, but wanted to say Thug Life was great, and that people shouldn’t believe the negative talk. All the posts seemed suspiciously similar. I posted about this, and someone from the film industry called me and confirmed that these were indeed paid promotions. RKFI has reportedly spent several lakhs on this.”

The fan further noted that the language and structure of these promotional videos appeared formulaic, indicating a coordinated PR campaign rather than genuine opinion. RKFI has yet to issue an official statement addressing the allegations.

Thug Life, directed by the celebrated Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR, sells itself as a gritty gangster epic. In reality, the plot is a regressive, cringe-worthy mess. The central storyline revolves around Rangaraya Sakthivel, an ageing gangster played by Haasan, who juggles between a wife and a mistress (Trisha Krishnan) in a disturbingly casual affair. What’s worse is the later development where Simbu’s character, raised as a son by Haasan’s character, takes over his father figure’s mistress as his own romantic partner—with no emotional or ethical reckoning.
