Kamal Haasan’s Shifting Stance On Government Response To Rain Crisis; Netizens Call Out Hypocrisy

Actor, “politician”, founder of the Makkal Needhi Maiam, Kamal Haasan known for his quirks and confusing tweets seems to have ensured he gets on to the good side of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government as his party is sinking, falling apart, and becoming irrelevant by the day. With the DMK in power, Kamal Haasan’s tone seems to have undergone a notable shift.

As the city of Chennai reeled under the duress of Cyclone Michaung, Kamal Haasan posted on his X handle in a manner that seemed to blame the cyclone for the entire problem while turning a blind eye to the mismanagement, poor or absence of preparedness from the establishment. He wrote, “No matter how much precaution the government takes, the effects of natural disasters can only be controlled to a certain extent. At this juncture, it is necessary to ensure our safety and work hand in hand with the government machinery to help the situation stabilize. #CycloneMichuang Kindly request Maiamofficial people to help those affected by the heavy rains caused by the storm.”

Netizens while thoo-thooing his comments on the current situation, reminded him of his own words during the 2020 rains. In 2020, during the AIADMK government’s tenure in Tamil Nadu, Kamal Haasan took a strong stance on the state’s preparedness for rainwater management. Haasan criticised the administration, asserting that water bodies were ill-equipped to handle the influx of rainwater. He argued that crucial lessons from the devastating 2015 floods had gone unheeded, emphasizing the persistent issue of uncleared drains. He wrote, “An hour of rain. Tamil Nadu’s head is shaking. Northeast Monsoon threatens. The water bodies are not prepared to collect the mercy rain. There are no lessons learned from past floods. Drains are not covered. Water inundation at Children’s Hospital has not reduced. At least keep an eye on coastal districts.”

Even in the floods caused by Cyclone Michaung, the Met Department had warned of the incoming cyclonic storm for over a week. Despite all these warnings by both freelance weather bloggers and the Met Dept, the government failed the people by not being prepared for the torrential rains. No lessons learnt whatsoever from the past.

Netizens denounced his stance and questioned his blatant bootlicking of the DMK government.

BJP Is All Set To Smash Records In 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

What an eventful weekend it has been! Reading in between the lines on everything that I saw and heard from the exit polls and analysis, I came to a conclusion and tweeted on the night of December 2nd that BJP is going to comfortably win in Madhya Pradesh, form governments in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and BRS will form the government in Telangana with the help of BJP.

Although Congress has won the Telangana elections comfortably I still feel that their government will not last long given several of their leaders have jumped ship from BRS only. The fact that DK Shivakumar had to do his usual task of keeping the flock together showed clearly that Congress couldn’t completely trust their MLAs but how long will they be able to do this resort politics? Time will tell.

Be that as it may. What led to the outstanding victory of BJP in the Hindi heart land?

Based on their victory in Karnataka, Congress thought that that giving freebies left, right and centre will make the public vote for them and winning is a given. They showed great confidence and even most of the exit polls corroborated their sentiment. However, everyone except for a handful of pollsters underestimated the inherent mastery of BJP when it comes to fighting elections.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh election was nowhere close to Karnataka scenario. In Karnataka, BJP didn’t have a very strong existing face, they couldn’t set the narrative well and anti-incumbency easily brought them down. Due credit must be given to DKS and Siddaramaiah for steering their ground organization. BJP is a party that learns from its mistakes quickly. In MP, they sensed that Congress will again apply their freebie toolkit and Kamal Nath gave early indications. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, fondly known as Mama in MP, immediately rolled out his Ladli Behna scheme which put immediate money in the hands of female voters. Why would they then wait for something to be done by Congress in the future when already its happening in the present and so they rallied around Mama. The corruption mudslinging similar to Karnataka didn’t stick on BJP unfortunately for the Congress who were clearly using the Karnataka template.

Initially, BJP top brass even thought that public in MP was tired with Shivraj Chauhan and didn’t want to expose him a lot during the campaigns. However, Shivraj was patient and BJP also realized that he still enjoyed the clout and brought him back visibly in the rallies and cutouts which paid off even though they didn’t announce any CM face and Modi asked people to vote for his guarantee.

Rajasthan

Congress’s infighting in Rajasthan between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot was out in the open for everyone to see and they wasted almost 4 years of opportunity to project a good governance and administration image for themselves. On the other hand, BJP managed its internal rumblings much better during their election campaign. Its rumoured that Vasundhara Raje wanted to be projected as the CM face and did all that she could to reinforce her presence as a force to reckon with but BJP top brass kept her in check although they gave her confidants tickets and prevented her from doing any significant damage. She had to give in and BJP went without a CM face to the public and still won.

Congress’ Rhetoric Flops

Congress’s attempt to play the caste card also didn’t click in all the three states. Their usual jibes at Narendra Modi using Adani card and abusing him as Panauti (bad omen) linking it to the loss in the recent world cup didn’t find any audience as people couldn’t relate to it all. This was terrible strategy on the part of Congress. In Rajasthan, BJP was very successful in setting the narrative of corruption and female atrocities that people could easily relate to as it affected their day to day life. Even in Chhattisgarh, BJP was able to set the corruption narrative on the Congress very smartly.

People Confident Over Modi’s Guarantees Than Congress Freebies

Its very important to note the significant point that BJP has now learnt to counter the freebie guarantee politics of the Congress. Its very evident that the public trusts the Modi guarantee more as they have seen the results visibly already on the ground. Going to 2024, this will act as a big plus to BJP. Another very important point is that the Anti-Sanatana Dharma comments by the Congress allies were met with anger in the Hindu voters which they silently showed in the ballots. The fact that Congress didn’t publicly condemn the likes of DMK for their Anti-Hinduism slogans remained etched in the minds of people and BJP didn’t make any mistake in ensuring the same.

Easily Modi’s BJP looked much more credible in the eyes of the public and the Congress leadership couldn’t erase this even though Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra went about with their usual speeches during their campaigns. BJP’s corrective measures in MP by changing the candidates and bringing union leaders to fight and not going with a CM face in any state paid off. BJP’s alacrity in changing their strategies stumped Congress big time in these elections.

I strongly believe that with the current momentum and public sentiment that has built up in these three states, BJP will definitely cross 400 in 2024. In order to ensure this, I think BJP should bring the Loksabha elections forward around February end/March itself. The fact that they now have counter to the opposition strategies of freebies, caste formulas although they still might not have the Muslim vote base which is not a big issue if they can keep the Hindu votes together. BJP must continue with Shivraj Chauhan as the CM in MP due to the public sentiment but can bring new faces like Balaknath in Rajasthan and similarly in Chattisgarh.

The losses in these three states have shattered the Congress dreams of becoming a dominant leader of the I.N.D.I alliance running up to the 2024 elections. BJP looks in tremendous form, understands the pitch really well, is now the seeing the ball also very well and has perfected its art of pull shots very well learning from their earlier mistakes. BJP is all set to win the world cup in 2024 by breaching the 400 runs mark. Ab ki baar, 400 paar! Lets wait and watch!

All You Need To Know About BJP’s Venkata Ramana Reddy, The Dark Horse Of Kamareddy

In a highly contested battle within the Kamareddy constituency of Telangana, Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious, overcoming the challenges posed by K Chandrasekhar Rao of Bhartiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and A Revanth Reddy, the state Congress chief. In this three-way competition, Reddy secured 66,652 votes, surpassing KCR and Revanth Reddy who obtained 59,911 and 54,916 votes, respectively, securing the second and third positions.

Despite the Congress party’s overall success in the Telangana assembly elections, defeating the ruling BRS, the defeat of A Revanth Reddy, a prominent contender for the Chief Minister’s position, has brought a sense of embarrassment to the party. Notably, there were 39 candidates in the Kamareddy constituency.

A 53-year-old businessman, Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy, holds a Class 12 qualification. According to his election affidavit, his total declared assets amount to Rs 49.7 crore, including Rs 2.2 crore in movable assets and Rs 47.5 crore in immovable assets. His total declared income is Rs 9.8 lakh, of which Rs 4.9 lakh is self-income, and he has total liabilities of Rs 58.3 lakh. There are 11 criminal cases registered against him.

In the previous 2018 assembly elections, Gampa Govardhan from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS) secured the MLA position in Kamareddy, obtaining 42% of the total votes. He won against Congress’ Mohammad Ali Shabbir by a margin of 2%.

Kamareddy Assembly constituency, numbered 16, is situated in the North Telangana region and Kamareddy district, falling under the 5th Zahirabad (General) Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency. Categorized as a General Rural constituency, it has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 14.73% and a Scheduled Tribe population of 4.67%, as per the Delimitation Commission report of 2008. The district’s estimated literacy level is 48.49%, according to the Census of India 2011.

In the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, the Kamareddy constituency had a total of 2,45,822 eligible electors, with 1,18,718 males, 1,27,080 females, and 24 registered voters belonging to the third gender.

Following his triumph, KV Ramana Reddy, a businessman turned politician, expressed gratitude to the people of Kamareddy, stating in a tweet, “This victory belongs to all the people of Kamareddy constituency.”

K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has served as Chief Minister of Telangana twice since its formation in June 2014, faced a significant setback with this defeat. Meanwhile, despite losing the election, A Revanth Reddy is purportedly leading the race for Chief Ministership if Congress forms the government in the state, based on the current trend, although he lost the election.

KV Ramana Reddy’s victory is being highlighted as that of a ‘giant killer’ who defeated both the outgoing and potentially the next Chief Minister of Telangana, signaling a groundswell and the emergence of leaders for the BJP in the Southern state.

Commending Reddy’s triumph, former Union Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted, “Please don’t ignore this great man! BJP’s Katipally Venkata Ramana defeated both the sitting CM of Telangana, KCR, and Congress CM candidate, Revanth Reddy from the Kamareddy Assembly seat. This is a major victory which is not being discussed at all!

G Kishan Reddy, BJP’s Telangana state President, echoed the sentiment, tweeting, “It’s Saffron Wave in Kamareddy. Hearty Congratulations to Shri Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy @kvr4kamareddy on winning the Kamareddy seat. It is extremely heartening that our Kamareddy Candidate, Shri Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy has defeated both the Telangana CM KCR and the President of the Telangana Congress, Shri A. Revanth Reddy. This shows that the BJP candidates have the Telangana people’s support and can humble any leader of any stature.

I.N.D.I. Ally DMK Supporters Abuse North Indians, Congress Stokes North-South Separatism As BJP Sweeps Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan And Chhattisgarh

The BJP has emerged victorious in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh with the party snatching power from the Congress in the latter two.

In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is coming to power for the fifth time in the last 20 years except for 2018 when the Congress managed to win by a wafer thin margin. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s women centric schemes coupled with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s strategy has propelled the party to victory. The BJP has also snatched power from the Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and has made impressive gains in Telangana. BJP’s Katipally Venkata Ramana, emerged as the dark horse slaying both sitting CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and CM aspirant Revanth Reddy, in Kamareddy in Telangana.

With the BJP’s landslide victory in the Hindi heartland states, the I.N.D.I. Allies Congress and DMK have gone on a tirade against the people of these states.

Congress, DMK, Leftists Stoke Separatism

Congress supporters and leaders have been peddling a divisive rhetoric pitting north-India and south-India.

Praveen Chakravarty, Chairman of the Data Analytics department of Congress party appointed by Rahul Gandhi shared a picture titled “South Vs North” with a caption saying that the boundary line is getting thicker and clearer straight of its ally DMK’s playbook.

He has now deleted this tweet after social media outrage.

Another Congress youth functionary from Tamil Nadu called for cutting off the southern states from the rest of India. She said “Just cut us off man.. South is for us. North, go wherever/however you want!

In another tweet, she dehumanized the people of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh for voting BJP saying “Are you guys humans?

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram’s son and Congress MP from Tamil Nadu Karti Chidambaram too peddled the north-south divisive rhetoric.

Congress MLA from Tamil Nadu JG Prince posted a cryptic tweet saying “Therku” which means “South” in Tamil.

Founding Editor of leftist propaganda portal The Wire too harped on to the North Vs South rhetoric saying that the divide has become sharper with the election results.

In Kerala, Dr. Arun Kumar, Chief Editor at Reporter TV channel, insulted North Indians by stating, ‘North Indians are illiterate!’ on air.

DMK Supporting Dravidian Stockists Abuse North Indians

Deputy Secretary of DMK Student Wing Poornasangeetha Chinnamuthu shared a picture of just the southern states of India saying “South India stands united””

YouTube Beautician – turned – MNM functionary turned – DMK functionary Padma Priya, took shared the same picture with the caption “#BJPFreeSouth”

The state deputy secretary of the DMK’s environment wing, had earlier shared a picture with a secessionist undertone, with South Indian states in a different color that said “United States of South India“.

Another rabid Dravidian Stockist DMK supporter with the X handle name “Surya Born To Win” called the north Indian states as “Cow belt states”. He also made racist comments by branding the people living in these states saying “Illiterate, communal bigots don’t want development”.

Surya Born To Win is close to the ruling DMK establishment and is known for spewing venom against Hindus and BJP supporters.

Surya Born To Win with DMK scion Udhayanidhi Stalin

Prabha Raj, a rabid Dravidian Stockist and Congress supporter courted by the likes of leftist-Dravidianist propaganda outlet The News Minute, made hate speech and xenophobic comments against north Indians.

Another trope laden with xenophobia peddled by DMK supporters and Dravidian Stockists is that north Indians come down south for work but go back to their states and vote for BJP.

G Sundarrajan of ‘Poovulagin Nanbargal’ NGO who was appointed by the MK Stalin government as a member of the Climate Action Committee said “They (north Indians) vote for BJP in their states and come back to southern states including Tamil Nadu for work. Your sense of rationale/justice is good.

Another DMK propaganda handle which goes by the Dr. Arvind Raja who was recently in news for making casteist abuse and cyberbullying carnatic singer Sivasri Skandaprasad, too peddled the same trope.

DMK supporting handle by the name ‘Journalist Senthil’ wrote in Tamil “I don’t trust the vadakkans (slur for north Indians in Tamil). My sympathies to those tweeted trusting those illiterate religious bigoted dogs. The time has come to think whether south India should be a slave under the vadakkans. 2024 is a life or death struggle.”

The Congress and its I.N.D.I. Ally DMK have been pushing a dangerous rhetoric whenever the BJP wins an election in the northern states or Congress emerges as winner in the southern states for quite some time. The Congress aped the DMK when the party won the Karnataka Assembly elections in 2022.

BJP’s Hindi Heartland Win And Its Impact In 2024

In 2014, against all odds PM Modi stormed to power, with BJP winning 283 seats and securing absolute majority on its own. 5 years back in 2018, BJP suffered its major electoral setback by losing Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Everyone hinted that it was a comeback of sorts for Congress, which at that time had won just 44 seats facing its worst drubbing since independence. But PM Modi got re-elected in an astonishing manner winning a further 20 seats taking the final tally to 303. This means state election results don’t dent his image as a performer. People vote differently in state Assembly and Lok Sabha election.

Coming to the present, BJP is poised to win back Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

As of 5:15 PM, the BJP is leading in Madhya Pradesh in 165 of the 230 seats. The Congress is at a distant second leading in just 64 seats. In Rajasthan, the BJP is leading in 117 seats of the 199 seats and Congress is leading in 67 seats. Of the 90 seats in Chhattisgarh, the BJP is leading in 56 seats and the Congress is leading in 34 seats.

What does the resounding victory of the BJP in the Hindi heartland mean? PM Modi’s image will get bolstered further and his victory in 2024 is now a foregone conclusion.

What Will Happen To I.N.D.I Alliance?

Loss in 3 big states will a big blow to the alliance. Firstly it is not a alliance, but a group of opportunistic ‘kichdi’ that was formed to disturb a stable and performing government.

The alliance which was formed with much pomp and fanfare will definitely crack with every ingredient pinpointing each other for the loss. There will be mutual mistrust between the ingredients which will further favor a more stable and reliable NDA. Fight for the PM candidateship will further weaken the alliance making it a cake walk for PM Modi in 2024.

What Will Happen In Tamil Nadu?

Congress’s bargaining power will take a pounding. DMK will try to relegate Congress by giving probably around 5 seats. This means Congress will lose some the constituencies it won in 2019. Due to dissatisfaction, Congress may approach AIADMK looking for double digit seats. If a Congress-AIADMK alliance materializes, DMK will draw a blank just like 2014. Congress-AIADMK alliance may not do well as there wont be a chemistry between the cadres on the ground as the two parties have not had an alliance since 2001.

The biggest beneficiary would be BJP due to the above developments. The party can easily get anywhere between 15% to 20% which is unprecedented in Tamil Nadu. They may even win a few seats which will be beneficial for Tamil Nadu. Once this vote percentage is achieved, Mr. Annamalai will be within striking distance to become the Chief Minister of TN in 2026 where the party should aim for 30% votes in a four corner fight.

In A Nutshell

BJP’s victory in 3 big states is a shot in the arm for PM Modi’s aspirations to become PM for third time. Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and his caste census rhetoric has not found resonance. The BJP’s gains in Telangana will be a source of strength for the party to expand its reaches further in the south.

BJP All Set To Sweep MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh: Congress Gets Eradicated In Hindi Heartland; I.N.D.I. Ally DMK’s “Eradicate Sanatana Dharma” To Blame?

Going by the stabilizing trends of the election results in the five states that had gone to polls recently, the BJP is poised to win in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

As of 12 PM, the BJP is leading in 157 seats of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Congress is leading only in 59.

In Rajasthan, of the 199 seats, the BJP is comfortably ahead leading in 113 seats and the Congress is at a distant second leading in just 65 seats.

The story is the same in Chhattisgarh as the BJP is surging ahead leading in 53 seats. The Congress is hanging at 34 seats in the 90 seat Assembly.

The Congress can only find solace in Telangana with the party looking at the chance of helming the government in the state.

The final results are likely to settle around these numbers +/- 5 seats.

The Congress party’s dismal is not being blamed on the usual crown prince Rahul Gandhi but another crown prince of the I.N.D.I. Ally – DMK President MK Stalin’s son and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

In September 2023, Udhayanidhi participated in an conference titled “Eradicate Sanatana Dharma” and had compared Sanatana Dharma aka Hinduism to diseases like dengue, malaria and said that it had to be eradicated.

He said, Mosquitoes, dengue, flu, malaria, corona – we should not oppose these things. They’ve to be eradicated completely. The same is the case with Santanam (Hinduism). Our first work should be to abolish/eradicate Sanatanam instead of opposing it. So, my appreciation to you all for giving an apt title to the meeting.” DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said.

His incendiary remarks had triggered a national outrage with many leaders of the I.N.D.I. Alliance including Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal and some members of the Congress distancing themselves or criticizing the DMK scion’s remarks.

Despite the national outrage, Udhayanidhi Stalin had not apologized for his hate speech and hurting the sentiments of Hindus. Instead he had gone on to argue in the court that it was his freedom of speech.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s “Eradicate Sanatana Dharma” remark became an election plank for the BJP to canvass votes which seems to have worked in the saffron party’s favour.

Many political commentators and netizens have pointed fingers at Udhayanidhi Stalin saying that his remarks about Hinduism as cost the I.N.D.I. Alliance dear in the Hindi heartland.

BJP TN’s “Anniyan” Returns With Theemai Kadhaigal Episode 4: Highlights The Betrayal Of DMK Govt Towards Farmers

The Tamil Nadu BJP has rolled out the fourth episode of its video series, “Theemai Kadhaigal.” This installment takes a bold stance by resurrecting the iconic vigilante character, ‘Anniyan,’ from the blockbuster Tamil movie bearing the same name. The video strategically utilizes Anniyan as a poignant metaphor, aiming to emphasize the perceived betrayal of the DMK government towards the delta farmers.

The video commences with the clip of the iconic Village Cooking Channel, cutting to Anniyan’s powerful narration, highlighting the disconnect between the common man and the struggles faced by farmers. Anniyan directly accuses the DMK government of engaging in land grabbing. The narrative exposes the alleged hypocrisy of the ruling party, pointing to their embrace of projects they formerly criticized for personal and political gains.

CM MK Stalin faces direct scrutiny in the video, with Anniyan questioning the validity of the touted “Dravida model” of governance. Anniyan contends that, under this model, the plight of disadvantaged farmers has only intensified, substantiating the claim with distressing news snippets showcasing the struggles faced by farmers in various regions.

The video shows various news clips of the DMK government’s apathy towards farmers including the one where CM Stalin arranged to transport the destroyed crops to his office to inspect them.

It points out the hypocrisy of CM Stalin who once said, “To speak for farmer, you need not to be a farmer, but it is more important to resonate with farming and that is ingrained in me” but it was his government which slapped Goondas Act on the 7 farmers who protested against the acquisition of farmland in Tiruvannamalai.

Anniyan’s critique extends to CM Stalin’s apparent lack of attention to pressing issues. The video highlights instances where the Chief Minister allegedly prioritizes personal pursuits, such as watching IPL matches and movies, over addressing the critical needs of rain-affected crops and distressed farmers.

The narrative takes a historical turn, revisiting the transgressions of previous DMK leader Karunanidhi against the farming community. It recounts instances from the past, especially the one when the then Karunanidhi government withdrew its Supreme Court petition against hte construction of irrigation structures by the Karnataka government.

The video also highlights how DMK government raised the power tariff which led to 3 farmers losing their precious live in a merciless shooting spree in Perumanallur near Tirupur. The other instance highlighted is the Manjolai Massacre when tea plantation workers demanding an increase in wages, were lathi-charged by the police and 17 innocent people including two women and a 2 year old child died.

In 2008, TR Baalu commenced the Golden Vats distilleries in his cousin Kumaravel’s name. The distillery is still in business relentlessly sucking the ground water table dry leading to lack of irrigation for the farmlands. In 2011, as the Deputy CM, Stalin mercilessly approved the methane hydrocarbon project in the delta region.

Anniyan further scrutinizes the DMK’s promises made during the 2021 elections, listing specific commitments related to minimum support prices, protection of agricultural land, and the establishment of an agricultural university. The video calls out the government for perceived sluggishness in project completion and questions the veracity of CM Stalin’s claim that 99% of promises have been fulfilled.

Drawing a poignant parallel between a scene from the movie “Kathi” and the current state of farmers in Tamil Nadu, Anniyan concludes the video by asserting that the DMK, seemingly focused on individual votes, has failed to adequately address the concerns of the very farmers who sustain the state.

“India Is Not A Hindu Country”: Pro-Congress Propaganda Outlet The Wire’s Arfa Khanum Sherwani Cries Foul Over New NMC Logo

The National Medical Commission updated its logo recently. The modifications include – the substitution of the word “India” with “Bharat” and incorporating a coloured image of Dhanwantari, the Hindu deity associated with healing and medicine. The “Bharatiya” below the deity in the earlier logo has been replaced by “Bharat”.

The new logo gained traction with pseudo-secular influencers like Dr. Abby Philips (TheLiverDoc) peddling misinformation that the NMC had added the “Dhanvantri” image. Many news media like South First  and The News Minute wrote elaborate articles based on Philips’ tweet that contained wrong information.

However, BN Gangadhar, the officiating chairman of the NMC rubbished these claims when speaking to Hindustan Times. He said, “There is nothing to sensationalise here as nothing has been significantly changed. The image of Dhanwantari was already in the logo but in the form of a black-and-white line diagram. All members unanimously decided that colour should be added to the image as black and white image was not printable. When NMC was formed, it was decided then to use Dhanwantari’s image in the logo. Apollo is the god of healing in some other country and Dhanwantari is the god of health and healing in India.”

As this logo came to light, the usual suspects comprising of Congress supporters, leftists and pseudo-secular media cabal started seeing red.

One of them was Islamist apologist and a self-styled ‘journalist’ of The Wire – Arfa Khanum Sherwani.

In an X post commenting on the development, the Islamist journalist said “INDIA IS NOT A HINDU COUNTRY.”

Many netizens flagged her tweet saying that it exposed the Islamist inside her.

Interestingly, she had earlier peddled Rahul Gandhi’s slogan “Jitni Abadi, Utni Haq” (Greater the population, greater the rights) by saying “जिसकी जितनी संख्या भारी उतनी उसकी हिस्सेदारी… (Those whose numbers are heavy, they get that much share).

Netizens pointed out that by her own logic, India is a Hindu country by default.

Here are some other reactions from Hindu netizens.

HR&CE Gives Permission For Annur Perumal Temple Kumbabishegam After BJP & Hindu Munnani Threatens Protest

In a major victory that showcases the power of Hindu unity, the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department has given permission to conduct the kumbabishegam of the Kari Varadaraja Perumal Temple located at Annur near Coimbatore.

The temple is believed to be around five centuries old and it is said that 14 years have elapsed since the last kumbabishegam (temple consecration) happened.

Devotees repaired and renovated the temple with their by pooling contributions on their own. The Thiruppani group (temple volunteers) with the help of other devotees had constructed a mandapam and a sannadhi (shrine) for 12 Azhwars along with the expansion of the circumambulatory path.

The thiruppani group had applied to the HR&CE department last month for conducting the temple consecration. Sacred waters were brought from the Bhavani sangamam were brought and other rituals were commenced. The Kumbabishegam was slated to be held on 1 December 2023 with grand fervor and invitations were already printed and distributed.

However, on the evening of 29 November 2023, officials from the office of the Joint Commissioner of the HR&CE department informed them to “complete the pending work” and then hold the kumbabishegam.

The thiruupani group had contended that they had completed all the work and that no work was pending adding that the temple.

Selva Kumar, Vice President of BJP Tamil Nadu’s Industrial Cell alleged that the permission was denied as the devotees refused to pay 30% commission to the government officials.

The BJP along with Hindu Munnani had threatened to carry out a massive protest if the HR&CE didn’t give permission.

Following this clarion call, the HR&CE reportedly has given the permission to carry out the kumbabishegam on 14 December 2023. They have put a condition that no receipts in the name of the temple shall be printed and money be collected from the public. The department has also stated that the ceremony should be held “without causing inconvenience to the public” with all necessary safety arrangements including fire service.

The BJP, Hindu Munnani and other Hindu organizations have cancelled the protest following the permission given by the HR&CE department.

Madras High Court Dismisses Writ Petition Challenging ED Proceedings Against DMK MP For FEMA Violations

The Madras High Court has rejected a writ petition from DMK MP S. Jagathrakshakan, challenging Enforcement Directorate (ED) proceedings under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) of 1999.

The court also dismissed connected writ petitions filed by the MP’s daughter, son, and a company where his son serves as a director, contesting the same proceedings.

The ED alleged that the DMK MP subscribed to 70 lakh shares of Singapore-based Silver Park International Private Limited without Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approval, violating FEMA Sections 3, 4, 8, and 15, along with statutory regulations.

The ED found that the MP had transferred shares to his family members, leading to charges of improper acquisition of foreign securities. An authorised officer under FEMA seized properties equivalent to the foreign securities, prompting the competent authority to hold on February 3, 2021, that the interim seizure order couldn’t be confirmed due to a lack of proof of payment for the shares.

The ED appealed the competent authority’s order to the appellate tribunal, which is pending adjudication. Meanwhile, the authorised officer moved the adjudicating authority (Special Director of ED) under Section 16 of FEMA, issuing a showcause notice on December 22, 2021, followed by a corrigendum on March 13, 2023.

The writ petitioners argued against parallel proceedings, citing the competent authority’s finding that there was no material to support the charges. The judge, however, rejected their argument, emphasizing that the competent authority’s finding was related only to the seizure order, while the question of whether the petitioners violated FEMA provisions could only be decided by the adjudicating authority.

The judge clarified that the existence of two independent authorities—one for accusations and the other for asset seizure—doesn’t allow for conflating their powers. He concluded that the order by the competent authority regarding asset seizure doesn’t supersede the adjudicatory authority’s power and is a matter of jurisdiction that cannot be expansively interpreted.
