Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has gone into self-quarantine after displaying symptoms of COVID-19 infection. He is scheduled to take a test on Tuesday, having developed a cold and sore throat over the weekend. He was last seen at an online press address on Sunday.
Kejriwal has isolated himself at his official residence in Delhi, after having cancelled all the party meetings. While talking about this, Aam Aadmi party’s spokesperson was reported saying that the CM had had a phone consultation with a doctor upon having these symptoms.
In the address on Sunday where he was seen wearing a mask, the CM announced a new policy of reservation of beds in hospitals, both government and private, for Delhi residents, . This announcement came amidst complaints by patients being denied hospital beds. Delhi has also opened its borders since then.
Delhi’s coronavirus toll has been recorded at 28,936 cases of which 812 people have died. There has been a sharp increase in the cases over the last few days.
