Afghanistan to form National Resistance Movement to counter Taliban and its proxy Pakistan

As the attacks carried out by the Taliban with the support from Pakistan intensified, Afghanistan Vice-President Amrullah Saleh on Thursday (29 July) said that President Ashraf Ghani has announced the Afghan security forces led National Resistance Movement (NRM) that will lead the country’s fight against the Taliban.

The purpose of the NRM will be to involve and incorporate every Afghan village and community that has stood up against attacks by Taliban terrorists.

In a tweet sent by Saleh, he said, “Every Afgh village & community that have stoop up against Talib terror offensive hv bn & will be incorporated under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to be led by the ANDSF. It is already happening”. Prz @ashrafghani at JCMB. Afg won’t bow to Talib proxy or its backer.”.

In an earlier tweet, Saleh had pointed out the hypocrisy of Pakistan that wanted a billion dollars from the west to solve the problem of terrorism in Afghanistan.

Saleh in his tweet said, “Pak used to portray Waziristan as a lawless tribal land sending fighters & terrorists to Afg. Give us 10 digit $$ & we will fix it, GHQ/ISI used to demand frm the West. Now an awakened Waziristan has crushed that falsehood & openly echoes Afg voices. Higher lies fall harder,”.

Ghani has announced the formation of NRM at the Joint Coordination and Monitoring Board Meeting (JCBM) in the Afghan Presidential Palace.
