TVK Model: Cadres Allegedly Make Govt School Students Sing Birthday Song For CM Joseph Vijay In Nagapattinam

TVK Cadres Allegedly Make Govt School Students Sing Birthday Song For CM Joseph Vijay In Nagapattinam

Just as government school students were allegedly taken out of classrooms to attend a TVK birthday celebration for Chief Minister Vijay near Kanchipuram, another controversy has surfaced from Thevur in Nagapattinam district, where TVK cadres allegedly made government school students sing a birthday song for the Chief Minister.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, triggering criticism and raising fresh concerns over the involvement of schoolchildren in political and personality-centric celebrations linked to the ruling party.

According to reports, TVK functionaries organised a birthday celebration programme and allegedly made students from a government school participate by singing a birthday song for Vijay. The viral video reportedly shows schoolchildren taking part in the event while TVK cadres conduct the celebration.

The development comes amid growing scrutiny over the manner in which Vijay’s birthday was celebrated across Tamil Nadu.

Recently, a controversy erupted in Kanchipuram district after reports emerged that around 40 students from a Panchayat Union Middle School in JJ Nagar were allegedly taken out of school during class hours and transported by auto-rickshaws to a TVK function organised as part of Vijay’s birthday celebrations.

The incident sparked outrage among parents and social activists, who questioned why students were removed from classrooms to attend a political event and demanded action against those responsible.

The Nagapattinam episode is the latest in a series of controversies involving educational institutions and Vijay birthday celebrations.

In another recent incident, TVK cadres entered government schools and hung photographs of Chief Minister Vijay inside classrooms. The move attracted widespread criticism, with many arguing that government schools should remain politically neutral spaces and should not be used to promote any political leader.

Following the backlash, the TVK leadership expelled the party functionary responsible for installing Vijay’s photographs in school classrooms.
