An incident involving the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl in the Palakkarai area of Trichy district has caused shock, as reported in MaalaiMalar.
The police registered a case and launched an investigation based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents.
Subsequently, acting on information obtained during the preliminary inquiry, the police have arrested nine individuals suspected of involvement in the incident.
It has been reported that seven of them are juveniles.
Proceedings against them are being conducted under the POCSO Act.
