BJP leader and State President, Youth Wing, BJP Tamil Nadu, SG Suryah has launched a blistering attack on actor Jyotika, branding her a “third-rate hypocrite” and accusing her of practicing double standards on issues ranging from education and language policy to the recent Delhi protests.
In a video statement responding to Jyotika’s support for the protests, Suryah questioned why her political opinions should be taken seriously, arguing that public figures must be judged by both their knowledge and whether they practice what they preach.
Questions Her Understanding Of Elections
Taking aim at an earlier interview in which Jyotika explained her failure to vote in an election, Suryah mocked her understanding of India’s electoral process, pointing to her remarks that elections happen “every year” and that she had “voted privately online.”

According to Suryah, someone who makes such statements has little credibility to lecture the public on democracy, fascism or governance.
“One Rule For Their Family, Another For Everyone Else”
Suryah then accused Jyotika and actor Suriya of hypocrisy over their opposition to the National Education Policy (NEP) and Hindi.
He alleged that while the couple publicly campaigned against the NEP and opposed Hindi education in Tamil Nadu, they chose an international curriculum for their own children before later moving them to Mumbai to study at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
According to Suryah, the very educational standards the couple opposed for Tamil Nadu students were the ones they sought for their own children.
Suryah also revisited Jyotika’s earlier interviews in which she had spoken about encouraging her children to become multilingual, saying she wanted them to learn as many languages as possible.
He then pointed to a recent video featuring the couple’s son demonstrating an AI-powered Hindi language assistant and speaking comfortably about its features.

According to Suryah, the video exposed what he described as a glaring contradiction between the couple’s public politics and their private choices. He alleged that while Suriya and Jyotika had repeatedly opposed the three-language policy and Hindi education for students in Tamil Nadu, they had ensured that their own children learned multiple languages, including Hindi, and had enrolled them in elite schools that encouraged such exposure. Suryah argued that the couple was effectively advocating one standard for the public while choosing a different educational path for their own family, calling it another example of what he described as their “double standards.”
Suryah argued that while the family welcomed multilingual education including Hindi for their own children, they opposed similar opportunities for students in Tamil Nadu.
Keeladi Visit And Delhi Protests
Suryah also revisited the controversy surrounding Suriya and Jyotika’s visit to the Keeladi Museum, alleging that the museum was closed to the public during their visit, leaving schoolchildren waiting outside in the heat.
He contrasted this with the couple’s public messaging on equality and social justice.
Responding to Jyotika’s statement that she wished she had raised her children with the same spirit as the Delhi protesters, Suryah accused the actor of expecting other people’s children to participate in street agitations while ensuring her own children received elite education.
“There was nothing stopping her. She could have sent both her son and daughter to join the protests… Meanwhile, their children study at elite schools like the Ambani School and are groomed for high-flying careers. This is a truly appalling double standard.”
“Examine How Fake Such Actresses Are”
Suryah further alleged that the Delhi protests were politically orchestrated and criticised Jyotika for endorsing those associated with them.
Concluding his remarks, he urged the public not to accept celebrity opinions at face value.
“It is better to avoid interfering in such matters. Even if you interfere, it is your right. But… people should examine how fake such actresses are… before supporting them.”
