‘Shoot Modi’, ‘Poison His Food’: Calls To Assassinate PM Modi Echo At Jantar Mantar Cockroach Protest

'Shoot Modi', 'Poison His Food': Calls To Assassinate PM Modi Echo At Jantar Mantar Cockroach Protest

Several videos circulating from the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi have captured participants making explicit calls for violence against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including remarks advocating his assassination.

In one such video, a young woman, when asked whether she expected Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign, replied, “Honestly, as long as Modi is there, I do not think we will get one. I actually want Modi to be shot; seriously, I would even shoot him myself.”

When the reporter asked if she stood by her statement about the Prime Minister, she responded, “Nothing has happened, right?”

When reminded that she would have to take responsibility for her words, she replied, “I’ll take it, but will he?”

The remarks were not isolated. Other videos from the protest site also show participants allegedly discussing or endorsing violence against the Prime Minister.

In another video recorded on the evening of 21 July 2026, protesters were heard chanting, “Neem ka patta kadwa hai, Modi sala bhadwa hai,” a slogan abusing the Prime Minister.

Another participant who seemed to be visibly intoxicated was recorded saying, “Either Modi must submit his resignation or someone must mix poison to his food and finish this story. Look at the illiterate, uncouth fools, he’s seventy or seventy-five years old, yet he claims, ‘I’m just a poor man.’ Such crooks are sitting right there; all the goons are in the BJP.” He further added, “This is the only remedy for Modi; I have said it. Do some jugaad to mix poison in his food such that even in postmortem it does not get revealed how he died.”

At the same protest site, a self-styled “Gandhi” and self-proclaimed monk was also captured on camera issuing a threat directed at the Prime Minister. During his speech, he praised anti-Manusmriti rhetoric before declaring, “We’ll do to PM Modi what happened to Muammar Gaddafi.”

From these videos, it is pretty clear that the protests seem to have nothing to do with NEET, leaked question papers or anything remotely connected, it all ends up with Modi hate and the sole intention of removing him from the centre.
