Kannada actor Yash used the Telugu pre-release event of his upcoming film Toxic in Hyderabad to speak about Indian cinema, the importance of dreaming big and the need to reject North-South divisions, as reported in Times of India.
Addressing a large gathering of students and fans, Yash thanked Telugu audiences for their continued support and spoke about how Indian cinema has increasingly crossed linguistic and regional boundaries.
Yash Thanks Telugu Audience, Praises Indian Cinema
Yash began his speech by thanking Telugu audiences for the affection shown towards him, particularly after the success of KGF.
“I want to thank all the Telugu viewers. Thank you so much. You have shown so much love.”
The actor said talent and hard work could overcome language and geographical barriers. According to Yash, audiences respond to genuine effort rather than regional identity.
“If anyone works with honesty and passion, the viewers will always support them. They are not biased. They are very honest and truthful,” he said.
He also described cinema as a space that should transcend linguistic and geographical boundaries.
“There are no boundaries. There is no barrier. There is humanity beyond language and borders. There is humanity, love and honesty,” Yash stated.
Yash Tells Students To Dream Big
With thousands of youngsters and students attending the event, Yash also shared a message on ambition and failure.
He urged youngsters not to restrict their dreams and said success could be achieved in any field.
“Don’t take cinema too seriously. Whatever you want to do in life, dream it,” he said.
Drawing from his own experiences, Yash also stressed the importance of taking responsibility for failure instead of blaming external circumstances.
“If we fail in something, or if we don’t achieve anything, I don’t think we should blame the world. Only we will be responsible,” the actor said.
‘North, South, We Don’t Want Any Of This’
Towards the end of his address, Yash directly addressed the debate around North-South divisions in Indian cinema.
“In our India, we have many states, we have many different languages and we love our languages. But the time is such, we all should come together. Anybody who tries to break it, anybody who tries to play politics with it, I don’t think anyone should listen to them. North, South, we don’t want any of this,” he said.
He urged youngsters not to be influenced by attempts to divide audiences along linguistic or regional lines.
“If you work in any state, wherever you go, you will get the same love. Wherever you come from, if you do a good job, you will get the same love.”
