Kerala: Woke Leftist Director Aashiq Abu Joins ‘Vote Chori’ Protest; Posters Call For The Release Of Terror Accused Umar Khalid

Woke Leftist Director Aashiq Abu Joins ‘Vote Chori’ Protest In Kerala, But Why Are Umar Khalid Posters There

Woke radical leftist Malayalam director Aashiq Abu has once again appeared in a protest calling for resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar over alleged ‘vote chori’.

The same Aashiq Abu was also seen showing solidarity during the July 2026 anti-NEET protests.

During the protest, instead of having posters and calling for what they think is the right thing, there are posters about terror accused Umar Khalid.

Abu was accompanied by director Amal Neerad, film stars Reema Kallingal and Ajayan too.

As usual Azadi slogans were raised. Wonder what they want azadi from!

But the posters abusing PM Modi, HM Amit Shah and even RSS Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat also appeared at the protests.

While these can also be glossed over, one wonders why the pro-Umar Khalid posters always turn up at every anti-government protest.

They appeared during the July protests as well as now.

During the July 2026 protest, writers, actors, filmmakers, musicians and activists gathered at multiple locations across Kochi, including Maharaja’s College, Panampilly Nagar and Kacheripady, to express solidarity with the Cockroach Janata Party-led protests in the national capital.

Among those who participated were actor-filmmaker Joju George, filmmaker Aashiq Abu, actress Priya Prakash Varrier, actress Divya Prabha, actress Gowri Kishan, television anchor Ranjini Haridas, singer Abhaya Hiranmayi, rape-accused rapper Vedan, singer Aloshy, former India footballer C.K. Vineeth, writer N.S. Madhavan, writer K.R. Meera, lawyer Harish Vasudevan, LGBTQI activist Sheetal Shyam, filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, filmmaker Manu Ashok, filmmaker Seenu Sohanlal, CPI(M) Ernakulam district secretary S. Sathish, and several others.

Actor-filmmaker Joju George likened the situation to the emergency.

But the same people never opened their mouths for any local causes or when Hindus were being massacred in Bangladesh, just recently.
