Music ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja Heaps Praises On PM Modi, Says He Has Achieved Eternal Fame In History Following Ram Mandir Consecration

The Rajya Sabha MP and renowned musician Ilaiyaraaja has heaped praises on PM Modi in an event in Chennai today. While addressing the audience, Ilaiyaraaja said, “Today’s date… is happening for the first time in the history. When I am saying history, it is not in Tamil Nadu, it is not in North India, it is entire India and all over the world. For the first time in history, if an event is happening all over the world, then it is this event (Ram Mandir Prana Pratishta). Modi will attain eternal fame in history for achieving this. Who will get this opportunity? Who can do this? Can everybody achieve this? Nobody can do this. It is written (in fate) for him. How many PMs has India seen, what stands in the history? Do a calculation and see. Also see who has done more (for this country). What Modi has done, when I want to say it, my eyes are tearing up, I am crying. I am happy to participate in this programme today in front of all of you, but at the same time, when I think that I should be in Ayodhya at this time, I feel sad. However, when I am here in this programme, it gives me some consolation.”

Earlier in 2022, Ilaiyaraaja was abused by Dravidian stocks online when he equated PM Modi with Ambedkar in a foreword for the book ‘Ambedkar & Modi – Reformer’s ideas, Performer’s implementation’. Following the incident, former LS MP & TN Congress leader EVKS Elangovan abused Ilaiyaraaja with casteist remarks in the public. Ilaiyaraaja was also pulled into a new controversy by alleged music director James Vasanthan, who abused the musician for his remarks about the re-birth of Jesus Christ in a private function.

Ilaiyaraaja also received abuses from DMK ally VCK Chief Thirumavalavan who said, ‘He has forgotten the crown placed by the people and has been intoxicated by the ‘rudhraksham’ tied by ‘kaavis’ (Hindus)’, referring to his nomination as MP to the Rajya Sabha during BJP regime.

77 Mentions Of Skanda Purana: How This Ancient Scripture Swung The Ayodhya Case For Lord Rama

Long before the halls of justice echoed with arguments over Lord Rama’s birthplace, a celestial hand had begun weaving a tapestry of seemingly disparate threads. These seemingly random events, scattered across time, would ultimately converge into a breathtaking revelation, proving the location of Rama’s birth and securing a historic victory for the Hindu faithful.

In 1902, oblivious to the seeds he was sowing, British officer Edward conducted a meticulous survey of Ayodhya’s 148 Teertha Sthalams, guided by the ancient Skanda Purana. He erected stone pillars at each location, marking them with a number. Little did he know, these pillars would become the cornerstones of a legal battle that would erupt several decades later.

Many years after Edward and his government left India, a historian and Indologist named Hans T. Bakker wrote a book in 1980 on Ayodhya’s history with maps based on Edward’s pillars. He surveyed these locations and created five maps. Fast forward to 2005. Lawyer P.N. Mishra, on a seemingly mundane journey from Lucknow to Calcutta with Swami Avimukteswarnanda, lost his way and found himself in Ayodhya. A chance encounter with a wise Sadhu took him to Edward’s forgotten pillars and Bakker’s maps. Of the many pillars he saw before going back to Calcutta, one was Pillar #100, nestled deep within a well and guarded by a Ganesh idol. Later, Mishra was asked by the Shankaracharya to argue on behalf of Sant Samaj for Prabhu Rama.

By 2019, the Hindu side in the legal battle faced an uphill struggle. The ASI report, while confirming a temple beneath the Babri Mosque, fell short of definitively pinpointing Rama’s birthplace. Armed with the Skanda Purana’s verses and Bakker’s maps, Mishra made compelling arguments to prove the exact location of the birthplace. Yet, a discrepancy arose – Bakker’s map, while accurate, didn’t pinpoint the exact location of the birthplace described in the verses.

As doubt threatened to engulf the Hindu side, another thread in the tapestry unravelled.

According to the Vaishnav Khand/Ayodhya Mahatamya within the Skanda Puranam, the birthplace is described as, “To the West of the Sarayu river, there is Vighneshwar, in North East of this spot is the exact place of birth of Bhagwan Ram – it is located East of Vigneshwar, North of Vasistha and West of Laumasa.”

However, during the hearing, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) expressed difficulty in understanding the language used in the Skanda Puranam and requested a more accessible representation. P.N. Mishra, responding to the query, presented a book by historian Hans Bakker. This book includes maps created based on Edward stoneboards (pillars), which, in turn, were placed according to the Skanda Puranam. This revelation, supported by historical maps, has ignited a sensation in the courtroom.

However, a minor discrepancy arises as the Skanda Puranam states the birthplace is North East of Vignesh, while the map by Hans Bakker did not distinctly mark this location, warranting further examination.

Swami Avimukteswarnanda (present Shankaracharya of Jyotishmath, Uttarakhand) summoned as a witness, revealed a crucial detail – the Skanda Purana’s “Vignesh” wasn’t the temple as everyone assumed, but Pillar #100, the one housing Ganesh. Like a missing puzzle piece snapping into place, this revelation aligned perfectly with the verses, pinpointing Rama’s birthplace with irrefutable precision.

The opposing side launched a fierce cross-examination, but the Shankaracharya stood firm. In the next 10 days of questioning in front of five judges, his unwavering conviction and detailed knowledge of the MahaPurana silenced all doubts. In its final judgment, the court acknowledged the meticulous evidence and Shankaracharya’s testimony, mentioning the Skanda Purana a staggering 77 times.

Later, Mishra said if he had not lost his way to Ayodhya in 2005 and had not met Sadhu, he could have never proved the birthplace of Bhagwan Ram in court. This is truly divine intervention.

Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta: Hindu Guilt-Tripping And Hinduism Bashing Continues Unabatedly Online By Many I.N.D.I. Alliance Sympathisers

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Prathishtha took place on 22 January 2024, but the left leaning liberal netizens have been complaining about the ceremony since the day it was announced. These were some misconceptions, partial truths and lies posted by the left – leaning liberals online. The below list is a collection of reactions from these leftist liberal handles on social media platform X.

Senior editor at leftist portal The Wire, Arfa Khanum Sherwani had her meltdown as the India “she knew all these years died after the Pran Prathishtha.”

The same Arfa suffered another meltdown as she spoke to BBC World. In this interview, she says, “In the last 20 years of my journalism, I have never seen one single event impacting and influencing so many people in one go. I am sitting here at my residence in New Delhi talking to you while all my neighbours, most of my neighbours are bursting crackers and Narendra Modi has also told them to light lamps in the night, I am sure that would also be taking place soon. They are all singing devotional songs, people travelling from all over the country, the whole thing being broadcast on live television for the last one month. Television anchors dressed in saffron clothes with pictures of Rama om them singing devotional songs and shlokas of Gita. Everything already looks like that I am living in a theocratic state.” She also adds that Modi is trying to change Hindu religion by introducing politics into religion and as the PM of 1.4 billion people, she says he is behaving like a Hindu god. She talks of herself as the survivor of the 1992, Dec 6 when the mosque was demolished. She says she had to leave her home to safe her life and that of her family and that she lived like a refugee for several days. She also says the state machinery has been abused because Modi was the Jajmaan.

Anti-Hindu and leftist actor turned politician known for his rabid Modi hate, Prakash Raj  was afraid that placing Bhagwa flags would be the new normal in the country.

Leftist journalist Rana Ayyub blamed majoritarianism practiced by those in power and also pointed out the silence of those against communalism.

Perverted misogynist Nilakantan who is also a genocide monger felt pukish when Army helicopters showered flowers on Ayodhya.

SFI Delhi President and the one who became famous for her dramatics during the JNU protest days called 22 January 2024 the day of fall of a secular nation.

An LLM student felt Lord Rama would never come to a place where many people were killed and was shaming everyone celebrating the Ram temple.

Even BBC World suffered a meltdown evident from its article headline. The caption on their post read, “India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates huge Hindu temple, built on site of a mosque which was destroyed by a mob in 1992.”

Journalist Rohini Singh posted on her handle, “The basis of Ram Rajya was truth and religion, Arrogance and injustice were the qualities of Ravana.”

Kollywood was not far behind in their meltdown. Kollywood film director Pa Ranjith had this to say at an audio launch event, “Today is a very important day, if we do not light the lamp today at home, we are branded as terrorists. That is how it is today. India is moving towards a very serious period. We don’t know in about 5 or 10 years how the situation in India is going to worsen and the fear is there. And before we enter such a time period, we must rectify ourselves, we must cleanse the regressive practices that we have been brainwashed with. We have been taught religionism daily and we must erase all that and we must use art as a tool to do it. This art is a tool that will help to reach the people easily. The regressiveness that is being forced upon us will be rectified by this art is what we believe. We are working with that belief. Surely, we can prevent India from reaching such a stage and we will do what we can to achieve it. This should be done across India.”

https://twitter.com/RjAadhi2point0/status/1749348995263283270

Political commentator Dr. Sumanth Raman made a post implying that if it had not been for the demolition of Babri Masjid, there wouldn’t be so much fanfare associated with the consecration today. He goes on to add that the celebrations are nothing but, ‘stoking a community into feeling they have got retribution’

Akash, whose bio says he is a political activist, has shared an alleged press release by ‘All India Lawyer’s Association for Justice’ and mentions Ram Mandir Prana Pratishta as ‘centrepiece of majoritarianism’ and ‘downfall of all façades of secular intention & constitutional commitment’. The consecration ceremony celebrations are not limited to Bharat alone. There have been videos online from the USA and other countries where Hindus are minority groups, celebrating the consecration.

Some other users also remembering what had happened during the Babri Masjid demolition, like user Sarayu Pani, squarely blaming the ‘majoritarian’ for what happened.

https://twitter.com/sarayupani/status/1749252289905487909

Another user, Prudy Ray, a self-proclaimed Dalit Christian, went to the extent of saying he is scared and concerned for Muslims in India now. It has to be noted that despite all these sudden concerns for Muslims, no violence or acts of vandalism has been reported against the Muslims or Muslim properties leading up to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Freelance journalist Aishwarya Iyer posted that ‘grave injustice unfolds with the stamp of the Indian state. The radicalisation of the average Hindu is complete.’

Mumbai-based journalist and Anna Hazare’s former blogger Raju Parulekar made a post saying the Ram Mandir consecration is a ‘brazen political manoeuvre’ to ‘inflame religious passions’ and calls it a ‘dark day for democracy’.

This netizen even came up with a long thread on the meltdown after the Pran Prathishtha.

Another set of liberals started sharing screenshots of the preamble to point out ‘secular’ aspect of our Constitution.

Dharumai Adheenam Commends PM Modi’s Efforts In Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Consecration

As the country celebrates the auspicious occasion of the Pran Prathista, the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on 22 January 2024, the present leader of Dharumai Atheenam, the 27th guru Shreelashree Kayilai Masilamani Desiga Gnyana Sambandha Paramachari Swamigal, has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dedicated efforts. He further elucidated the process of Pran Prathista, emphasizing that it is being carried out by the principles outlined in the Sasthras.

Dharumai Atheenam (Dharumapuram Atheenam) stands as one of the Saiva monastic institutions situated in Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. From 1987, it oversaw the administration of approximately 27 temples. The establishment of this Mutt can be traced back to its initiation by Guru Gnana Sambandhar in the 16th century.

In a brief 6-minute clip shared on X handle Gnyana Sambandha Paramachari Swamigal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in the construction of the historic Ram Temple and for bringing long-cherished dream became a reality.

He said, “Through Prime Minister of India, Modi, the day our dream is realized is January 22, 2024. In our nation, Bharat, a very ancient avatar, Rama, was born in Ayodhya with Archaeological Department findings and through a court order our Indian PM has facilitated smoothly, such that it can be placed among world historical icons – the Ram temple – has been constructed, and on 22 January 2024, Pran Prathistha is going to happen.”

He explained the process of Pran Prathistha, Maha Kumbabhisekham, and Naadi Santhanam. The term Pran Prathistha is used for new installations, as in the case of the Ram Temple. Same like the process of Kala Darshanam symbolising the breath of life being given to the idol through a method Naadi Santhanam emphasising that it is being carried out per the principles outlined in the Sasthras.

He further added “Because it is being done new it is called ‘Pran Prathista’. In other temples, this is done every 12 years and it is called Jeernodharana Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbabisekham (Consecration ceremony). If there is any accident in the temple and to repair it there are many types of consecration ceremonies. As it is new and the vigraha (idol) is also new and established there it is named Pran Prathistha. “In ours too they call it as ‘Naadi Sandhanam’ in temples, from inside the Moola Moorthi (main deity) is brought to Yaga salai (ceremonial pit pyre) which is said Kala Darshanam… Again from here when they sent back, with Darbai grass rope) in the method of Naadi santhanam, they give breath to the deity”. In the same way in north India, they are calling it Pran Prathistha.”

This monumental event has rejuvenated the construction of the grand temple, witnessing the gathering of lakhs of people, and has garnered international attention, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage. He said “This is a 500-600 years history is been again replenishing way with help of archeological department findings the court has declared its verdict for us with that prime minister Modi truthfully for a week visited many temples – Srirangam, Rameshwaram, Tirupati, etc and in the north too, he worshipped, went on a fast, and did the work. This action is due to greater penance, for this, he should have done punya.”

By quoting verses of the Tamil song, “புல்லினால் வருடம் கோடி புதுமணலால்,” shared the sentiments are echoed, emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of the momentous occasion.

Pullinal Varudam Kodi Pudhumanalal pathu kodi

Selumam Nyalam thanil sengalale nooru kodi

Alliyangodhai pagan alayangal madalayngal

Kallinal etrinoar kayilai vitagalarendre” says a special song

“With granite having raised a huge temple, lakhs of people gathered there with the nature of a real Indian nation, the world has realised it, around the world, people are coming towards Bharat. Rama, a character from has been showcased beautifully through Kamba Ramayana. His administration – done through his Paduka was a pride to the nation compared to the one where he was the ruler. Such a good administration that even considered every citizen’s complaint – this is explained beautifully in Kamba Ramayana,” he further added.

Furthermore, when discussing the event, he expressed his perspective on the magnificence and cultural richness of Bharat, emphasising that the artifacts showcase the opulence found in Bharat’s art, sculptures, and heritage. He said “In that way, a temple is built for Rama that has been done perfectly, the nation’s dream is being fulfilled by Prime Minister Modi. The day that our dream is fulfilled is 22 January. We have lost so many treasures when we have travelled to many foreign countries the treasures that went from here – sculptures and temple idols; seeing all these we can realise the number of precious art sculptures, and heritage that our country has.”

Additionally, he mentioned that Gnana Sambandhar, through his musical compositions, explores the link between Ayodhya and Rameshwaram, encapsulating the essence of worship dedicated to Lord Ram and depicting historical events. In conclusion, he conveyed his blessings for the efforts of Prime Minister Modi.

“In our religion within the areas of Vedas, Puranas, Ithihasas, Thirumurai, and Sastras whatever the doubts we have, can be clarified, and the answers can be looked for within these. Ithihasa means Ramayana and Mahabharatha -the connection between the two is written by Nayanmars. Under the administration of our Atheenam in Vaideeshwarar temple Gnana Sambandar in 11 songs quotes Sambayu, Jatayu, Rama. In the same way, Ramecharam is sung by Gnana Sambandhar and Thirunavukarasar. Our atheenam Kumara Kurubarar in Muthukumarsamy Pillai Tamil quotes “Surya kula vamsa ravi… Ravi kula thilagam Rama, his brother Lakshman and Hanuman have worshipped … Sambayu, Jatayu two birds still are worshipped by people there” like that there are many historical specialties for Ram. Gnana Sambandhar records 1600 years of history such a history is now seen in the Ayodhya. The world is witnessing and praising Modi’s work; we too bless him on this day,” he said.

Devotees In Srirangam Allegedly Prevented By TN Police From Performing Prathakshinam On Ram Mandir Consecration Day

In a recent development earlier on 22 January 2024, Tamil Nadu Police allegedly obstructed ten devotees attempting to perform Prathakshina/Parikrama at Srirangam as an offering to Shri Ram and the revered deity, Shri Ranganatha Swamy.

The devotees, who had prepared flags and pictures the night before, were reportedly halted by the police, sparking discontent among the Hindu community. Critics express disapproval over what they perceive as an interference with the devotees’ religious activities.

The incident came along the sidelines of the Tamil Nadu government trying to leave no stone unturned to prevent Hindus in the state from celebrating the Pran Prathishta ceremony at Ayodhya.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court was informed by the Tamil Nadu government that there is no ban in place on conducting screenings of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony or organizing special poojas and bhajans on this significant occasion. The Supreme Court duly acknowledged and recorded this statement made by the state government.

The DMK government submitted the clarification in the apex court after reports surfaced about ‘verbal diktats’ issued by the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments department to now allow any special poojas and events at temples.

In many places, police had denied permission to conduct bhajans and events in private temples too. The court underlined the importance of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all religious and cultural practices. In addition, the Supreme Court stressed the need for transparency in the approval process. It instructed the state government to maintain a comprehensive record of all applications received for hosting events related to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony and the subsequent decisions taken.

DMK Govt Says There Is No Ban On Ram Mandir Consecration Celebrations In TN Temples, These Instances Show Otherwise

As the Pran Prathishtha ceremony gets underway at Ayodhya on 22 January 2024, devotees in the state of Tamil Nadu are in a fix. There have been verbal orders to not permit any kind of special pujas, annadanam, LED screening, bhajans, etc at temples under the ambit of the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments department.

In some places, LED screenings in public places are not being permitted while in others, such screening within temple premises is not permitted. The police have been witnessed entering the premises of such private temples and dismantling LED screen setups. Here is a list of the permission-related instructions given by the government department in Tamil Nadu.

Instruction To Private Schools

Private schools in Tamil Nadu planning to observe the consecration at Ayodhya, even within their premises, are now required to obtain permission from either the District Collector or the Judiciary, according to a new rule by the TN Police. This note was received by a school in the Villupuram district.

Temple Permission Denial Note

The DMK government in Tamil Nadu has faced criticism for its Anti-Sanathana Dharma stance, imposing a sweeping ban on conducting special pooja and Annadhana during Pran Prathishtha in Ayodhya. Verbal denials from the HR&CE department and purported frivolous reasons from the TN Police have been cited for rejecting requests, including the live telecast of the event on a large LED screen organized by BJP in the state as well as by other groups for devotees. Here are some of the proofs of permission denial to Kothandaramar temple, Rangapuram. In Kanyakumari, permission was denied citing communal reasons.

The devotees of Thenthiruperai Perumal temple in Thoothukudi district were also denied permission to conduct bhajans and set up loudspeakers in the vicinity of the temple. The reason given for the denial is the law and order problem in the Srivaikundam locality.

The private temple of Kanchi Kamakshi which belongs to the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham in Kanchipuram witnessed the dismantling of LED screens by the TN Police preventing the live streaming of the ceremony.

Below is the permission denial note for pujas in relation to the Pran Prathishtha at Aralvaimozhi Meenakshi Sundareshwar temple in Nagercoil.

A leaked audio recording of a conversation between a devotee and an HR&CE official of the Poonamallee Perumal temple explicitly indicates that they have been verbally directed not to permit any activities within the Temple premises related to Pran Pratishtha.

Erode Police denied permission for sound and light setup at Kallukkadaimedu Anjaneyar Temple, Erode, for a live telecast of Ayodhya’s Kumbabhishekam by the BJP. The refusal cited conditions including no slogans against any religion, smooth traffic, no plexiglass banners, and a prohibition on lighting and sound.

Police in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, denied permission to Bhagavathi Amman Temple administrators in A. Vellodu for a special annadanam event on 22 January 2024, citing inadequate details on participants, potential disruptions, and concerns about religious sentiments in the Christian-populated area. Permission was rejected to avoid potential law and order issues and disturbances to public peace.

In Avadi, Chennai, police denied permission for Ram Nama Bhajan and Annadhanam. The rejection of permission was cited opposition from VCK and DMK in a private venue like a marriage hall. This was challenged in court and on 22 January 2024, it was urgently heard before the Madras High Court in the morning of 22 January and the Hon’ble Madras High Court said that conducting such functions can’t be stopped inside private premises.

It has come to light the Tamil Nadu government has affirmed to the Supreme Court that there is no official ban on organising screenings of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony or conducting special poojas and bhajans in observance of the occasion. The Supreme Court duly recorded this statement, emphasising that permission cannot be denied solely based on the presence of other communities in the locality.

Furthermore, the apex court directed the Tamil Nadu government to maintain a comprehensive record of applications received and decisions taken regarding events related to the celebration. This was in response to a petition filed by a TNBJP member, Vinoj Selvam.

Double Whammy For DMK Govt: Supreme Court Says Live Screening Of Ram Mandir Consecration Can’t Be Stopped, Madras HC Says No Police Permission Required For Live Telecast In Pvt Places

The Tamil Nadu government on 22 January 2024 informed the Supreme Court that there is no ban in place on conducting screenings of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony or organizing special poojas and bhajans on this significant occasion. The Supreme Court duly acknowledged and recorded this statement made by the state government.

The DMK government submitted the clarification in the apex court after reports surfaced about ‘verbal diktats’ issued by the Hindu Religious & Charitable End to now allow any special poojas and events at temples.

In many places, police had denied permission to conduct bhajans and events in private temples too.

In light of this, BJP leader Vinoj P. Selvam and others moved the Supreme Court which issued a directive to the Tamil Nadu government, emphasizing that permission for such events cannot be denied solely on the basis that other communities reside in the vicinity.

The Madras High Court too has ordered that no police permission is required for live telecast of Ram Mandir consecration at private temples and marriage halls.

Madras High Court Allows Live Telecast Of Ram Mandir Consecration In Private Temples And Halls, Big Blow For DMK Govt

The Madras High Court has ordered that no police permission is required for live telecast of Ram Mandir consecration at private temples and marriage halls.

Justice Anand Venkatesh ruled that no permission is needed from cops or the government for live telecast of Pran Pratishtha ceremony at private temples and halls.

In response to a Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the Madras High Court has addressed the rejection of permission for the conduct of Rama Nama Bhajan and Annadhanam on 22 January 2024, at KKR Kalyana Mandapam, Pattabiram. The petition challenged the refusal order issued by the first respondent on 21 January 2024.

During the hearing, senior counsels Mr. G. Karthikeyan and Mr. S. Ravi represented the petitioner, while Mr. A. Damodaran, Additional Public Prosecutor, appeared for the respondents. The Court was informed that subsequent permission had been granted by the first respondent, and the proceedings dated 21 January 2024, were presented.

The Court sought clarity on the government’s stance regarding such events, considering the multitude of functions anticipated. The Additional Public Prosecutor outlined the government’s position:

  • Events in private enclosures like mandapams, private temples, or other private places do not require police permission. Organizers are encouraged to arrange live streaming of the Pran Prathishta at Ayodhya.
  • In cases where events might overflow into public spaces, organizers must inform the police in advance to facilitate necessary measures for crowd control and to avoid disturbances to public movement.
  • For events within temples under the HR & CE Department’s control, prior information to the concerned department official is necessary for permission, subject to reasonable conditions.
  • In sensitive areas, the police retain the discretion to impose restrictions to prevent unnecessary law and order issues.

The Court concluded that conducting functions, including Bhajans, Rama Nama recitations, and Annadhanams, is not inherently prohibited. It emphasized responsible and pious conduct to avoid law and order problems. The judgment, disposing of the writ petition with the provided directions, emphasized the need for accurate information and encouraged a peaceful celebration of auspicious occasions. The Court also clarified that Bhakti towards God should contribute to peace and happiness without disturbing societal equilibrium. The decision was reached without imposing any costs.

“Sense Of Invisible Fear And Apprehensions On Faces Of Priests & Temple Staff”, TN Guv RN Ravi Says Pall Of Gloom Surrounds Chennai Temples As Rest Of India Celebrates Ram Mandir Consecration

The entire country and probably the whole world is waiting eagerly in anticipation and celebrating the Pran Prathishtha at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on 22 January 2024. However, in the state of Tamil Nadu, devotees are being allegedly prevented from celebrating the ceremony. Several devotees have been denied permission to conduct bhajans, special pujas, live screening of the proceedings on LED screens, offering Annadanam, etc.

Governor of the state of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi took to the official X handle to write on this. The post read, “This morning I visited Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple, West Mambalam, Chennai, and offered prayers to Prabhu Sri Ram for the well-being of all. This temple is under the HR&CE Dept. There was an all-pervasive sense of invisible fear and apprehensions writ large on the faces of priests and temple staff. A stark contrast to the festive environment in the rest of the country. While the entire country is celebrating the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla, the temple premises here exude a sense of acute repression.”- Governor Ravi”.

The Governor seems to echo the general sentiment and it is pretty evident that the DMK government ruling in the state of Tamil Nadu is leaving no stone unturned to prevent Hindus in the state from celebrating the momentous occasion.

A private temple where Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to watch live proceedings of the ceremony in Ayodhya witnessed police personnel entering the premises and dismantling the LED screen set up.

Devotees shared the rejection letters of various temples in the state that denied permission to conduct bhajans, live screening, etc.

Nirmala Sitharaman Slams DMK Govt Over Removal Of LED Screens At Kanchipuram Temple Where She Was To Watch Ram Mandir Consecration

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 21 January 2024 posted on her X handle about how the TN government had banned the LED screening of the Ram Mandir Pran Prathishtha ceremony.

Speaking to news reporters at Madhuranthakam in Chenglepet district in TN, she said, “The whole country and many countries across the world are eagerly awaiting the Pran Prathishta of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The arrangements for the celebration have been made by the people themselves, not any party or organisation. The people in their own interest decided that they wanted to see the ceremony proceedings and arranged for several things, it was the people’s effort. But when I landed here, from yesterday, from the public themselves, not my party members alone, I heard that the government was preventing them from carrying out whatever they had planned. Even when we ask for permission, they are refusing it. Our letters are just like that, they are saying they never refused it. But if we make the arrangements for some bhajan or puja or set up a mic, police are threatening us. He (Sekar Babu) can very well say it is a rumour and a lie. How can a Union minister say something like this? No, I do not interfere in such matters so easily. But till midnight last night – continuous phone calls, public and my party people. I had informed the state government of my Kanchipuram plan beforehand, my itinerary was passed on long back, they also sent my programme schedule to Kanchipuram – everything was fine. But the event I was supposed to participate in, a sub-inspector there threatened the organisers to dismantle the LED setup that was going to be used for Ram Mandir Pran Prathishth live streaming. The organisers called me up. I even told them you have invited me and what can I do? Till the night, the subinspector was there. There was a discussion with collectors, SP, and all the officials. Everyone said since the rejection letter did not come to hand, you can continue with the programme, if you want. There is no letter in hand. That is a public place, you cannot carry out anything there, law and order problems may arise, they say. Ok, if we thought we could go and do the same inside the temple, there was already a directive in place that no such things could be done. I can list out to you the temples that received such an instruction. You can check out Sekar Babu’s tweet itself. People are replying to his tweet – with rejection letters from various temples. There are so many. I am not spreading rumours.”

She continued, “Let me tell you one more thing. In today’s Dinamalar paper, there was an article saying “Prohibited”. The minister is replying to me that I must not spread rumours. You all are journalists here. But if Dinamalar says it is rumour and even if the rest of them say it, it is not a rumour, why cannot Minister Sekar Babu give a response to that rumour itself? He should have said, you are journalists, you should do due diligence before publishing this, what you have published is wrong, I assure you that such an instruction is not even in place, tell the people. Should he not tell the people that if you want to celebrate this event, you can surely do it and there will be no prevention to this. He did not say that. The police are standing there even now. The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department – should this department not participate and aid the people with their worship and pujas? They should cooperate but instead, they are making police there and saying where is the letter, did we reject it – they will not reject, they will not accept, they will stretch this till the end but they have rejected permission for a few.”

Speaking to Times Now’s Navika Kumar on the allegations of Sekar Babu that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was trying to “distract attention” Away from the DMK Youth Wing Conference, she said, “Laughable, absolutely ridiculous. Some youth programme of the DMK happens in Salem and the allegation is we are trying to distract the whole world from Ayodhya, what a comparison, please. That is not worth responding to, just dump that. The other that they have not issued any orders, Oh really, I am so happy to hear that Navika, so through you let me then challenge the minister and also the government of Tamil Nadu, if indeed there is no order, stopping people from viewing the hon’ble PM and singing bhajans or reciting Ramayan, let them say so openly. Let them tell in temples, that people can do their bhajans, they can put a screen. You take the money from the Hindu devotees, you control the Hindu temples and that is not even right. You take the monies from the contribution made from the bhakta, please establish a television screen in the temple and openly say, we wouldn’t have any objection and we would welcome Hindu devotees to go to the temple and watch the programme which Hon’ble PM is doing. You are welcome to watch the live telecast. Say that positively. Don’t hide behind bushes and say no I have not issued anything, we have not stopped anybody, we don’t want any of that. Say openly. This is Aranilaya Thurai which means Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment for which there is an exclusive minister and as I understand that minister’s business is to help Hindus in performing their lifestyle easily, going and doing the worship in temples and facilitating everything in the temple. Let him issue a statement today, we have not stopped anyone. On the contrary, I will facilitate, because I am the minister of the HR&CE and therefore let the Hindu bhakts go to the temple, and watch the Hon’ble PM participate in the Pran Prathishtha. So no negative statements, let them give a positive one. Invite Hindu templegoers to see what is happening in Ayodhya tomorrow. That would be a meaningful role rather than a minister who is supposed to take care of the interests of the Hindus to stop them from doing their worship and then later on come about and say where is it, I have not stopped it, you put all the police everywhere”
