Kerala Congress Endangers Post Office Employee By Sharing Video With False Claims Of Voter Deletion, Later Deletes Post

Yet again, the Congress party has been exposed for circulating misinformation and later attempting a cover-up by deleting their post. Just hours after Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission was engaged in software-driven voter deletion and vote theft to help the BJP, the Kerala Congress unit shared a video on x claiming it showed a man deleting voters from the rolls.

The clip, however, turned out to be entirely misleading. It actually featured Bhaskar Kakati, an India Post employee stationed at Meghdoot Bhavan, the Guwahati General Post Office in Assam. Known locally for his extraordinary typing speed, Kakati has been featured in Assamese media before, with reports noting how people often prefer his counter since he clears requests faster than others.

Despite this, Kerala Congress captioned the video with a mocking post, calling the man “Nagraj” and alleging he was removing Congress voters at 4 a.m., drawing a bizarre comparison to Rahul Gandhi’s jibe against the Prime Minister. After the truth came out, the party quietly deleted the post.

The Assam BJP strongly criticised the move, accusing Congress of tarnishing the reputation of a hardworking clerk for political propaganda. In a statement, the party said: “Congress has once again exposed its bankrupt politics! To run their propaganda, they shamelessly dragged a respected Guwahati GPO clerk—known for his honesty and lightning-fast service—into their petty drama. The man who has earned love through hard work is being mocked by a party that has never respected workers.”

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has already dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, clarifying that voter deletion cannot be done online and is carried out only by the ECI after due process and hearings.

Stray Dog Menace: Two Schoolchildren Mauled By Stray Dogs In Separate Incidents In Madurai

In a disturbing turn of events, Madurai witnessed two separate incidents of children being mauled by stray dogs on the same day, sparking fear and outrage among residents.

In the first case, Michael, a resident of Kamarajapuram, was sending his 7-year-old daughter, a Class II student, to school this morning. While the child was walking with her grandfather, a stray dog suddenly charged at her. The girl sustained serious bite wounds on her cheek, thigh, and leg.

In another incident in Nagamalai Pudukkottai, an 8-year-old boy, son of Muthupandi, was on his way to a government school when a stray dog attacked him. The boy was bitten on his hand, leaving him injured.

Both attacks, though unrelated, have heightened public concern as stray dogs roaming the streets particularly at night continue to pose a threat, even targeting children accompanied by elders.

Alarmed residents have urged authorities to act swiftly, demanding that stray dogs be controlled or relocated immediately. Following the appeal, civic workers have begun operations to capture the animals in the affected areas.

“Don’t Blame Rapists”: When Kamal Haasan Blamed Mahabharat For Rapes In India

An old interview of DMK stooge Rajya Sabha MP and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan has resurfaced online, sparking fresh controversy. In the clip, Haasan can be heard making remarks justifying sexual predators while blaming the Mahabharata for crime against women.

During the program, when asked about the rise in crimes against women, Haasan responded that such incidents were not surprising in a country that reveres an epic in which a woman was treated as collateral in a gambling game.

Referring to the Mahabharata, which millions consider sacred, he said, “We should not blame rapists because what examples have we given them? Mahabharata. You have given them an example where you can gamble your wife. You have given him the wrong story to follow. You have given them a wrong example to follow. You have made it a holy book now.”

The resurfaced remarks have gone viral on social media, drawing sharp criticism from various quarters. According to reports, then multiple legal cases have been filed against Haasan in places including Tirunelveli and Bengaluru.

Chidambaram As India’s Home Minister Said He’s Not Asking Naxals To Lay Down Arms

Chidambaram As India's Home Minister Said He's Not Asking Naxals To Lay Down Arms

Just a few days ago, the news about the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) declaration of a unilateral, one-month ceasefire expressing readiness for conditional peace talks with the central government broke.

This development invites a stark comparison between the previous UPA government’s approach to left-wing extremism and the current administration’s unwavering stance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

The UPA and Chidambaram’s Stance: A Willingness to Talk, Without Surrender

In May 2010, in the immediate aftermath of the brutal Dantewada massacre where 76 CRPF personnel were killed by Maoists, then Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram found himself at the centre of India’s most pressing internal security debate. On one hand, the UPA government had launched Operation Green Hunt to confront the armed insurgents; on the other, Chidambaram was under pressure to open a dialogue with the Naxals.

That month, Chidambaram took his case directly to students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), traditionally a stronghold of Left politics. The event, organised by the Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), was titled “Naxalism: Threat to Indian Democracy and Internal Security.” Speaking at the packed School of Social Sciences auditorium late in the evening, the Home Minister received a mixed reception of applause and protests.

Addressing the Maoist insurgency, Chidambaram described it as both a serious law-and-order issue and a problem rooted in socio-economic grievances. He assured students that the government was prepared to review mining contracts in tribal areas and that New Delhi was not blind to the economic causes feeding the rebellion.

But his most striking line came when he made clear that the government’s invitation for talks did not require Maoists to first surrender their weapons.

“It is a serious law and order issue. There are socio-economic causes that we will address, the talks for dialogue. The government is willing to relook at the mining contracts. I was the first minister in this government who said we are ready for talks, we are not asking you to lay down arms because we know you won’t do that, because you believe in armed liberation struggle, you will not lay down arms,” Chidambaram told the students.

It was an unusual admission: the Home Minister of India acknowledging that Maoists would never give up their arms yet still offering to negotiate. The statement underlined the UPA’s two-track policy of both military operations and conditional dialogue.

More than a decade later, with Maoist influence has significantly eroded in India and leaders seeking to negotiate from a position of weakness, Chidambaram’s 2010 outreach reads as a moment when the State tried to engage the insurgency at its peak.

“I Consider You Father Of Non-Violent Movement In Kashmir”, Ex-PM Manmohan Singh Allegedly Said To Jailed Terrorist Yasin Malik, Affidavit Reveals

kashmir non violent movement Ex-PM Manmohan Singh Allegedly Said To Jailed Terrorist Yasin Malik, Affidavit Reveals

Jailed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, serving a life sentence in a terror funding case, has made sensational allegations in an affidavit submitted to the Delhi High Court. Malik has claimed that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh personally thanked him after he met Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan in 2006.

Malik alleged that the meeting with Saeed was not his independent initiative but was held at the request of senior Indian intelligence officials as part of a backchannel peace process with Pakistan.

The Alleged Role of Intelligence Bureau

According to Malik, then Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), V. K. Joshi, met him in Delhi before his Pakistan visit in the aftermath of the 2005 Kashmir earthquake. Malik claimed Mr Joshi requested him to engage not just with the Pakistani political leadership but also with terrorist figures, including Hafiz Saeed, to support Prime Minister Singh’s peace efforts.

Malik said he was told explicitly that dialogue with Pakistan could not be meaningful unless terrorist leaders were also part of the conversation. Acting on this request, he agreed to meet Saeed and other leaders of the United Jihad Council during his trip.

The Meeting With Hafiz Saeed

In his affidavit, Malik described how Saeed organised a gathering of jihadist groups in Pakistan, where Malik delivered a speech urging terrorists to embrace peace. Quoting Islamic teachings, he said he pressed for reconciliation over violence, stressing that “if somebody offers you peace, purchase peace with him.”

Malik said this meeting later became a flashpoint, as it was portrayed as evidence of his proximity to Pakistani terror groups. He called the episode a “classic betrayal,” insisting it was an officially sanctioned initiative that was later distorted for political purposes.

Prime Minister’s Alleged Response

Malik further claimed that after his return to India, he was asked to brief the Prime Minister directly following a debriefing with the IB.

“When I returned to New Delhi from Pakistan, Special Director IB V K Joshi as part of the debriefing exercise, met me in the hotel and requested me to immediately brief the Prime Minister,” Malik said.

“I met the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the same evening where N K Narayan, National Security Advisor, was also present. I briefed him on my meetings and appraised him on the possibilities, where he conveyed his gratitude to me for my efforts, time, patience and dedication,” he added.

On a photograph of him shaking hands with Singh, Malik remarked: “When I met Manmohan Singh as PM, without any hesitation he said, I consider you father of non-violent movement in Kashmir.”

Encounters With Political Leaders

In his affidavit, Malik also mentioned his interactions with several top political leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sonia Gandhi, P. Chidambaram, I. K. Gujral, and Rajesh Pilot.

“After my arrest in 1990, I was actively engaged by six consecutive dispensations under the leadership of Shri VP Singh, Shri ChandraShekhar, Shri PV Narsimha Rao, Shri HD Devagauda, Shri Inder Kumar Gujral, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee till Shri Manmohan Singh. Not only I was provided domestic platform to speak about the Kashmiri cause, but I was actively roped in time and again by the said governments in power and was actively persuaded to speak on international platforms,” Malik said.

Political Fallout

Malik’s claims, if accurate, raise serious questions about the covert methods of India’s peace outreach with Pakistan and the extent to which state institutions relied on separatist leaders and terrorists like him in 2006. Most significantly, his assertion that a sitting Prime Minister expressed gratitude after a meeting with one of the world’s most wanted terrorists is likely to trigger a political storm.

Malik, accused of killing four Indian Air Force officers in Srinagar in January 1990 and of kidnapping former Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s daughter Rubiya Saeed, has long been held responsible by the exiled Kashmiri Pandit community for the ethnic cleansing and exodus of their people since 1990.

For now, the affidavit stands as a startling intersection of peace diplomacy, intelligence strategy, and the shadow of terrorism with Malik placing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh directly in the frame of his controversial encounter with Hafiz Saeed.

Complaint Filed Against Rural Development Trust And Affiliates Over FCRA Violations, Mass Agitations, and Security Risks

fcra

A detailed complaint has been filed by NGO watchdog Legal Rights Protection Forum with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) against the Rural Development Trust (RDT) and its affiliated organisations, namely Rayalaseema Development Trust (RyDT), Women Development Trust (WDT) and Accion Fraterna Trust (AFT), all based in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.

The complaint alleges that these organisations, whose FCRA licences were not renewed, have deliberately provoked large-scale public agitations against the Government of India, thereby escalating a statutory regulatory matter into a serious issue of governance, public order, and national security.

The complaint accuses RDT of orchestrating mass mobilisations that created tense standoffs with law enforcement, particularly at the Anantapur Collectorate, where thousands of people were brought together in coordinated demonstrations. It is alleged that the trust exploited the humanitarian dependence of its beneficiaries, weaponising welfare delivery into a political pressure tool against the State. According to the complaint, what should have been a straightforward case of FCRA compliance has been turned into an organised campaign to undermine statutory processes and coerce the government.

The complaint further claims that RDT engaged in extensive political lobbying, drawing support from MPs, MLAs and local leaders who petitioned central authorities to intervene. Such politicisation of regulatory action, it argues, undermines the rule of law and sets a dangerous precedent where foreign-funded NGOs can hold the State hostage.

Financial irregularities form a major part of the allegations. Official audits and inquiries are said to have confirmed diversion of over ₹26 crore in patient funds to non-FCRA domestic accounts. The organisations allegedly transferred foreign contributions to entities without valid FCRA licences, in violation of Sections 7 and 8 of the FCRA, 2010. The complaint describes RDT’s evolution from a charitable body into a “parallel political force” in Rayalaseema, with its influence over local politics and ability to mobilise vast crowds operating as a shadow governance structure.

Conflict of interest is also cited, pointing to the role of Mr. Moncho Ferrer, a senior RDT executive who simultaneously serves as director of Vicente Ferrer Foundation USA, the primary foreign donor to RDT. This dual role, according to the complaint, violates safeguards against self-dealing. It is further alleged that the four affiliated trusts share office bearers, addresses and donor networks, creating a circular and non-transparent funding mechanism.

The complaint highlights instances where overlapping addresses, identical field offices and project descriptions were used to present the trusts as separate entities, thereby inflating accounts. Women Development Trust, for instance, is accused of raising large foreign funds for hospital expenditure despite not owning or operating hospitals. Reports published by the trusts allegedly reused the same hospital photographs with altered signage, suggesting asset misappropriation. Between 2011 and 2015, Women Development Trust is reported to have received over ₹36 crore in foreign contributions without disclosing donor identities or the purposes of funding, in contravention of Sections 18 and 19 of the FCRA.

The complaint also accuses the trusts of launching a politicised campaign to frame the MHA’s decision as political vendetta, mobilising communist factions and caste-based groups to distort public opinion. It warns of unlawful sharing of sensitive data of minors and beneficiaries — including health, financial and attendance records — with foreign donors, thereby raising concerns about privacy and external influence.

On the international stage, the complaint points to a 2011 TEDx talk where an RDT executive allegedly misrepresented India’s development by portraying the organisation as the sole saviour of marginalised groups, while omitting constitutional safeguards and welfare schemes, thereby undermining democratic institutions and discrediting the State.

The complaint argue that the cumulative effect of these activities represents foreign-driven subversion of India’s internal governance processes. By eroding regulatory authority, creating parallel power structures, and mobilising foreign funds to influence domestic politics, the trusts are said to pose a direct challenge to India’s sovereignty and security.

The complaint urges the MHA to cancel the FCRA registrations of all four trusts, conduct a comprehensive forensic audit and criminal investigation into their finances and office bearers, and ensure that humanitarian dependence is not exploited to subvert legal processes. It concludes that RDT and its affiliates are no longer functioning as charitable organisations but as a coordinated network engaged in financial fraud, regulatory violations and subversive political activity, and therefore decisive action is necessary to protect democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and safeguard national security.

Indian Techie Shot Dead by California Police After Alleged Stabbing; Family Alleges Racial Bias, Seeks MEA Help

An Indian man was shot by the police in California after he allegedly stabbed his roommate with a knife earlier this month, officials said. However, his family has alleged racial discrimination and demanded a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to his death.

According to an NDTV report, they have also sought the assistance of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to transport his mortal remains to India. In a statement, police said Mohammed Nizamuddin, from Mahabubnagar in Telangana, was shot after he was found inside his residence in Santa Clara with a knife on September 3, pinning down his roommate, who had sustained several injuries in a scuffle.

The police said they had reached the residence in response to a 911 call about a stabbing incident. A purported altercation between Nizamuddin and his roommate had gone out of control, leading to the attack. “SCPD officers arrived, encountered the suspect, and were involved in an Officer Involved Shooting. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for their injuries,” NDTV reported quoting the police statement.

“The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Clara Police Department are conducting a joint investigation. This remains an active and open investigation. As the investigation progresses, we expect to provide an update tomorrow afternoon,” it added.

The Indian man’s family, however, said it was Nizamuddin who called the police for help before being shot by them. Nizamuddin had pursued a Masters in Computer Science at a Florida college and was working at a technology company in California. The family said that the youth was a quiet and religious person, and had even publicly raised complaints of racial harassment, wage fraud and wrongful termination from his job.

According to NDTV, his family also pointed out a LinkedIn post by him that said: “I have been a victim of racial hatred, racial discrimination, racial harassment, torture, wage-fraud, wrongful termination and obstruction of Justice. Enough is enough, white supremacy/racist white American mentality has to end.” He also detailed allegations of poisoning of his food, eviction and what he described as continued surveillance and intimidation by a purported detective.

The family has sought a thorough probe into the allegations made by Nizamuddin and the circumstances that led to his death. According to NDTV, Majlis Bachao Tehreek spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan, who met Nizamuddin’s father Mohammed Hasnuddin, said he has written to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, urging him to request the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., and the Consulate General in San Francisco to provide a detailed report on the matter and help with repatriation of the remains of the young man and related formalities.

Kolkata Cop Brutally Attacked While Stopping Chaos In Netaji Nagar, Six Arrested

A policeman was beaten up while trying to stop a chaos in Netaji Nagar area in South Kolkata. A sub-inspector of the local police station on Thursday reached the said area after receiving information about a gathering of miscreants with weapons in front of a lawyer’s house. When he tried to bring the situation under control, the miscreants attacked him. The police on Thursday arrested six people in connection with the incident.

According to the police, the local police station last on Wednesday night received information that about 8 to 10 miscreants had gathered in front of the house of lawyer named Dipayan Ghosh, a resident of Netaji Nagar. The miscreants were reportedly carrying knives and other weapons. They were allegedly threatening the lawyer who is also the Trinamool Youth President of Ward 99 in Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) area.

On receiving the news of the commotion, local police station sub-inspector Dinabandhu Kesh along with constables reached the spot. When he tried to bring the situation under control, the miscreants allegedly attacked the policeman. The injured sub-inspector was left bleeding in the attack by the miscreants. According to police sources, the miscreant group was led by a man named Jayanta Ghosh.

Apart from this, several women were also in the group. When the police tried to arrest the miscreants, it is alleged that the women obstructed the police personnel. Following the scuffle, three miscreants were arrested at the spot, while Jayanta Ghosh fled. A few minutes later, Ghosh and his associates created a ruckus inside Bagha Jatin State General Hospital, assaulting the medical staff and the on-duty doctor. The police rushed to the hospital and during this second round of scuffle, the miscreants attempted to attack the officers with a surgical instrument before being overpowered. Three more persons including Jayanta Ghosh were arrested from the hospital, taking the total number of arrests in the incident to six.

“Total six persons have been arrested for assaulting a policeman and also threatening a lawyer. We are investigating the matter,” said a senior officer of Kolkata Police. A suo motu case has been registered at Netaji Nagar Police Station against the arrested and an investigation has started.

FIR Filed Against Kolkata College Principal Soon After HC Questions Mamata’s Sister-in-Law’s Appointment

In an unprecedented development, an FIR has been registered against the principal of a reputed girls’ college in Kolkata, who had earlier challenged a decision of West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee’s sister-in-law, Kajori Banerjee, as the president of the working committee of the college.

Although the FIR was registered reportedly on September 12 at Shakespeare Sarani Police Station, information on it surfaced just on Thursday that the complaint came just a day after a single-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court headed by Justice Bivas Pattanayak, had put an interim stay on the show cause notice and suspension order slapped on Srabanti Bhattacharaya, the principal of Kolkata’s renowned Rani Birla Girls’ College, by Kajori Banerjee as the president of the working committee of the same college.

Justice Pattanayak, at the same time, had questioned the appointment of Kajori Banerjee as the president of the working committee of the same college. Justice Pattanayak questioned how, despite not being an educationist herself, Kajori Banerjee, also a councillor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), could be selected in the working committee of such a reported undergraduate institute of the city, and that too as the President.

Justice Pattanayak observed that, as per law, the president of a college’s management committee should be a “person who is associated with education”. But, in this case, the President was just a councillor and there was no evidence that she was associated with education. “Therefore, it needs to be seen whether her appointment was legal or not,” the judge said.

Just a day after those scathing observations from the Calcutta High Court, information surfaced that a teacher of Hindi at the same college, Mantu Das, who hailed from a socially backward class background, had registered an FIR against the principal of the college, accusing her of humiliating him on the basis of his caste background. In his FIR, Das claimed that although he had been associated as a Hindi teacher of the college since 2014, he was humiliated by Srabanti Bhattacharaya since she joined the college as a principal in 2022.

The principal had vehemently denied the allegations and said that she would not speak about this issue further since this fresh development was reportedly linked to the college-related case that is pending at the Calcutta High Court. However, political and academic circles have started raising questions on the timing of the FIR registered against the principal. According to them, when Das had himself claimed that he was humiliated by the principal since 2022, why did he wait for three long years to register the FIR in the matter, and that too at a time when a crucial hearing on a college-related case was going on at Calcutta High Court?
