Complaint filed against DMK officer bearer in Coimbatore for encroaching waterbody in forest area along elephant corridor

A complaint has been filed with the District Collectorate against a DMK office bearer in Coimbatore for encroaching a waterbody in forest land along the elephant corridor in Anaikatti forest range.

A rivulet flows through the Kandivazhi village in the Anaikatti forest range which serves as a water source for animals in the region. The stream flows through Kondanur, Jambukandi, Anaikatti and Kodungarai and merges with the Bhavani River.

A dam has been built along the rivulet at Kandivazhi to create a catchment area and save water. DMK Panchayat Union Secretary Surendran owns around 22 acres of the forest land near this dam. He has been accused of encroaching the land near the rivulet and other waterbodies in the surroundings. This region is also said to be an elephant corridor.

People of the surrounding villages have now petitioned the Collector to reclaim these encroached lands from the DMK office bearer.

Yasir Al-Rumayyan Chairman of Saudi Aramco to join as Independent Director at RIL

Reliance Industries CMD Mukesh Ambani has announced that Yasir Al-Rumayyan who is the Chairman of Saudi Aramco is all set to join the board as an Independent Director at RIL.

This announcement was made by Mukesh Ambani when he was addressing the 44th Annual General Meeting on Thursday (June 24).

On the joining of Yasir Al-Rumayyan to the RIL board Ambani said, “I am sure that we will immensely benefit from his rich experience with one of the world’s largest companies, and also one of the largest Sovereign Wealth Funds in the world,”

It must also be noted that in 2019, Reliance had announced a sale of a 20% stake in its oil-to-chemicals business for $15 billion to Aramco, the world’s top oil-exporting firm.

In his address to the annual AGM, Ambani said that he expects RIL’s partnership with Saudi Aramco will be to be formalised in an “expeditious manner during this year”, after obtaining required regulatory clearances and Rumayyan joining the board is also the beginning of internationalisation of Reliance and more announcements on international plans of the company would come later.

Further, RIL is set to disrupt the new energy business amid climate concerns and Ambani said “We have established the Reliance New Energy Council,”.

Ambani was pleased to also announce that the company’s performance in FY21 exceeded expectations despite the ongoing pandemic and commended the company and its employees for the humanitarian efforts during the pandemic.

We need to be vocal for local toys: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with participants of Toycathon-2021 today via video conferencing. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Sanjay Dhotre were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that in the last 5-6 years, youth of the nation has been connected with the key challenges of the country through the platform of Hackathons. Thinking behind this is to organize the capabilities of the country and to give them a medium, he said.

Apart from the importance of toys as the first friend of the children, the Prime Minister also emphasized the economic aspects of toys and gaming, he called it ‘Toyconomy’. The Prime Minister said that global toy market is about 100 billion dollars and India haveonly 1.5 per cent of this market. India imports almost 80 per cent of its toys. This means that crores of rupees are being drained out of the country. This needs to change, said the Prime Minister. PM Modi underlined that, beyond numbers, this sector has the capacity to bring progress and growth to the neediest segments of society. Toy industry has its ownsmall-scale industry, artisans comprising of rural population, dalits, poor people and tribal population. The Prime Minister singled out the contribution of women in the sector. In order to take the benefits to these segments, we need be vocal for local toys. The PM called for new models of innovation and financing to make Indian toys competitive at the global level. There is a need for new ideas to be incubated, new start-ups promoted, taking new technology to traditional toy makers and creating new market demand. This is the inspiration behind events like Toyacathon, the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister referred to the cheap data and growth of Internet led rural connectivity and called for exploration of possibilities in virtual, digital and online gaming in India. The Prime Minister rued the fact that most of the online and digital games available in the market are not based on Indian concepts and many such games promote violence and cause mental stress. The Prime Minister highlighted that the world wants to learn about India’s capabilities, art and culture. and society. Toys can play a big role in that. India has ample content and competence for digital gaming. Shri Modi called upon the young innovators and start ups to be mindful of their responsibility of projecting the true picture of India’s capabilities and ideas to the world.

The Prime Minister mentioned that 75^th anniversary of India’s Independence is a huge opportunity for the innovators and creators of the toy industry. Many incidents, stories of our freedom fighters and their valour and leadership can be created into gaming concepts. These innovators have a big role in connecting ‘folk with the future’. There is a need to create interesting and interactive games that ‘engage, entertain and educate’, said the Prime Minister.

Pallivaasal High School teacher Habeeb Mohammed held for obscene calls to Class 9 student in Ramanathapuram

On Wednesday, a 38-year-old male teacher was arrested on allegations of sexually misbehaving with a girl student at an aided school in Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram district.

A Habeeb Mohammed of Periya Pallivasal Street, Mudukulathur, who worked as a Science teacher at the school, has been identified as the culprit. He reportedly indulged in obscene conversation with a Class 9 student over the phone and tortured her.

In the clips that went viral on social media, the teacher was heard naming and making obscene comments about several other girls studying at the school. Further, the news report alleged that he had tried to coerce the child into sexual activity in exchange for better marks.

Upon receiving a complaint, a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police S Loyola Ignatius, and Mudukulathur police conducted an inquiry into the issue.

The statement published by district police says,” It was found that the teacher had sent obscene messages to the student on June 18 and indulged in a provocative telephonic conversation with her the next day.”

The science teacher was arrested by Mudukulathur police based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents under Section 11 read with 12 of the POCSO Act and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The district police have urged other students who may have faced harassment by the teacher to come forward to share information with the Superintendent of Police (SP) at 9498129498 or with other officials at 9443282223 / 9498207461 / 9443133948 / 8300000592.

Another Illegal Bangladeshi Infiltrator Arrested From Kolkata Hotel

When two lady police constable attached to the anti-Romeo squad of Uttar Pradesh police stopped a motorcyclist for was not wearing a mask, he allegedly misbehaved and molested them.

The man also tore the uniform of one of them in a busy market in Amroha district.

The women constables were conducting a routine checking drive when they were attacked. None of the bystanders came forward to help the two women during the scuffle.

The two constables using their own strength managed to overpower the accused who have been identified as Mohammad Zaid of the Pakki Sarai area of the district.

When Ziad allegedly attacked the two women constable, a 10-year-old child was also with him and according to the police both the man and the child were not wearing masks.

Amroha station house officer (SHO) R.P. Sharma said: “A case has been registered against the accused for molesting the women constables and obstructing the government servant from performing duty. The accused has been arrested.”

Ten ‘Panchaloka’ idols worth ₹15 crore seized by HR&CE Department from Amman temple

HR&CE Department officials have seized 10 idols worth ₹15 crores belonging to the Amman temple in Virudhunagar. This has caused a lot of flurry amongst the people in the area.

The Mahamayi Amman Temple is located in Kariyapatti B. Pudupatti, in Virudhunagar District. Every year on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, a three-day festival is held. During this time, it is customary for the temple priest to take the idols of Amman, Veerapathirar Ganesha, Karuppasamy, Rakkachi Amman, Natarajar, Sivagami Amman, Irulappa Swami and Muthu Karuppasamy around the temple in procession and perform special pujas and anointments. Then, the priest kept them safely in the basement of the house.

Archaeologists from Chennai, four years ago, inspected the idols at the temple, which came under the control of the HR&CE Department in 1995, four years ago. The value was estimated to be ₹15 crores. The idols were then kept safely in his house.

Yesterday, the Kariyapatti police along with the HR&CE department officials seized the idols from the house of the temple pundit yesterday. The priest lamented that they were protecting the idols made by their ancestors and worshipping them. He cursed the authorities for meddling in the temple affairs. The 10 idols were also taken to the Srivilliputhur Andal Temple.

Famous antivirus creator John McAfee found dead in Spanish prison cell

John McAfee, the founder and creator of McAfee, the famous antivirus software was found dead in his Spanish prison cell on Wednesday. The 75-year-old pioneered the antivirus software industry with his revolutionary antivirus software. After making a fortune in the antivirus empire, he resigned in 1994. After that, he became a self-proclaimed programmer and cryptocurrency enthusiast. He even briefly contested as a Libertarian Party candidate for president in 2016.

McAfee had been accused of not filing taxes and was arrested in Barcelona’s international airport in October. This led to him being imprisoned, and he has been serving sentence since then.

In light of all of this, it has now been revealed that he has been found dead in Spain’s Barcelona. The Spanish Interior Ministry also confirmed the death, after his lawyer informed the media. The Mossos d’Esquadra, the local police in the Spanish region of Catalonia, where McAfee was held, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The US Department of Justice also did not respond.

It is to be noted that he had recently filed a petition to be extradited to the US, for which there was an ongoing case. The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that a Spanish court had ruled in favour of his extradition to the U.S. just hours before he was found dead.

In Karnataka’s Vijayapura district a teenage boy and girl, belonging to different religious communities, were murdered allegedly by the girl’s family members on Wednesday (June 23).

The boy belonging to the Dalit community and said to be 19 years old was a resident of Saladahalli hamlet, while the girl aged 16-17 hailed from neighbouring Khanapur village.

The United Dalit Forum of Sindagi Taluk are calling it a case of “honour killing”.

The forum’s speaker, Nandakumar Bambekar, who is also the Karnataka Madiga Youth Brigade’s President, said that the murder of these two teenagers has sent shockwaves across Dalits living in Saladahalli village and alleged that the police was being manipulated by the girl’s father who has been named as the fifth accused in the FIR instead of being the prime accused.

According to the police, the girl, aged 16-17 years, belonged to the minority community, while the 19-year-old boy, who drove an auto rickshaw for a living, belonged to a Dalit family.

“Both families were equally opposed to their affair and both families had beaten up their wards too for this. On Monday these youngsters were out on their usual date in fields, where one of the girl’s family members came to know about it and in turn, he brought four other family members who came and caught these youngsters red-handed. Out of rage, the girl’s family tied both of them to a tree and started beating them up with sticks. Due to internal injuries, they succumbed on the spot,” the police was quoted saying in a media report.

Another report mentioned that the Muslim family killed the couple with sharp objects and stone. “I begged them to let the couple go, however, they kept on thrashing the couple,” said Mallavva to Asianet.

Police have now formed a team who are now tracking all male members of the girl’s family who are on the run and A case has been registered and the angle of “honour killing” is also being probed.

5 new secret confessions registered in the Shiv Shankar ‘Baba’ sexual harassment case

Five people, including two alumni, gave secret confessions to judges yesterday in the case of Sushil Hari school founder Sivashankar ‘Baba’, who was caught in a sexual harassment case.

Sushil Hari International Residential School is located in Kelambakkam in Chengalpattu district. Its founder, Sivashankar Baba, 73, sexually harassed three students studying in the school. He was then arrested by policemen and was produced in the Chengalpattu Court on the 17th and remanded in custody. He is being treated at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai due to ill health.

Siva Shankar had failed to present himself before the Commission following which three cases were registered at the Mahabalipuram All Women Police station (AWPS) under various sections of the IPC, POCSO Act and Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act based on complaints of the alumni. He was later arrested in Ghaziabad.

Many students and alumni of the school had accused Siva Shankar ‘Baba’ of manipulating and sexually harassing girl students at the Sushil Hari School. These had come to light after screenshots of Instagram stories started doing the rounds on social media. Based on this, the Kelambakkam Police arrived at the school to inquire about the incident. Three complaints have reportedly been filed based on which a case has been filed under POCSO Act.

Duo who ran Islamic Dawah Center in Delhi wanted to use differently abled converts to Islam as suicide bombers for global Jihad

After the Uttar Pradesh anti-terrorist squad (ATS) arrested two Islamic clerics who ran the ‘Islamic Dawah Center’ in Delhi who has been of mass religious conversion racket a new development has emerged that has national security implications.

The accused Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautamware had devised a sinister plan to first convert the hearing and speech impaired children into Islam and then use them as human suicide bombers in the name of Islamic Jihad, reports Dainik Jagran.

Also, there are reports that Qasmi and Umar Gautam received funding from Pakistan’s spy agency the Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI), and other global sources. Both lived in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar and using coercive tactics converted around 1000 people to Islam and especially targeting deaf and mute individuals along with women and children for the same.

A senior official said, both Islamists wanted to brainwash these children into accepting Islam and later use them as human bombs in India and around the world in the name of Islam and Jihad.

The conversion gang is said to have targeted people in Noida, Varanasi, Mathura, and Kanpur. Earlier, the UP ATS had arrested the said individuals following the registration of an FIR in the case at Lucknow’s ATS police station.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar had stated that Gautam, who is himself a convert to Islam from Hinduism, boasted to the police of having converted at least 1,000 people to Islam, luring them with marriage, money, and jobs.

“I converted at least 1,000 non-Muslims to Islam, marrying them all to Muslims,” Kumar quoted Gautam as saying.

According to the ADG, the ATS had been working on the intelligence inputs that some people were getting funds from the ISI and other foreign agencies for converting poor people to Islam and spreading communal enmity in the society.

As of now, both Jihadists have been booked under the Gangster Act and National Security Act (NSA).
