Police arrest protestors instead of those involved in conversion; Hindu Munnani protests

At a school in Punnamachathiram, Karur, 3 men and 2 women representing a Christian Missionary, stood in front of a private school and provided cake and the News Testament of the Bible to students, in an attempt to convert them to Christianity. Parents, members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Munnani, opposed this and besieged the car in which the missionaries travelled. The Police who had arrived escorted both sides to the police station for an enquiry.

The Police who assured to take action against Pastor Mangalaraj, have filed a case against the District VHP Vice-President Chinnarasu and 10 others, based on a complaint lodged by Pastor Mangalraj. Due to this, the Hindu Munnani opposed this biased move of the Police and blocked the Karur-Salem Highway, as a sign of protest.

Subsequently, the Police officials, under the leadership of ADSP Kannan, arrived at the scene of protest and tried to speak a compromise with them. After the Police officials said that appropriate action would be taken if a formal complaint was lodged, the members of Hindu Munnani dispersed. In addition, the Hindu Munnani have also submitted a petition to take action against the Velayuthampalayam Police officials who arrested the Hindu Munnani head instead of the Pastor who was involved in converting school children.

Madras HC orders HR&CE to enquire into the sale of assets of Mariamman temple in Krishnagiri

The Madras High Court has ordered the HR&CE department to conducted a extensive investigation into the sale of assets and properties of the Mariamman Temple in the Krishnagiri district.

A petition submitted by Radhakrishnan from Salem said that the Mariamman Temple is situated in Avathanapatti, Krishnagiri district. He has also requested in the petition that the temple’s Kumbabhishekam (consecration) takes place on time, that all essentials required for the temple are provided and that action be taken to protect the assets and properties of the temple. Another petitioner, Thirupathi Gounder had also requested that elections be conducted for temple’s board of trustees, regularly.

The judge who heard the case, R Suresh Kumar, ordered the HR&CE department to file a report regarding the same. In accordance, the temple’s executive officer filed a report. The judge’s order, after going through the report, has revealed shocking information, i.e., there is third party influence on the immovable assets of the temple.

There have also been two sales transactions in 2001 and 2007, which shows that the temple property has actually been eaten. The temple’s board of trustees and the HR&CE have taken no efforts to reclaim these assets. Only on asking to file a report, the reality has been spelled out. How the temple’s consecration took place without the approval of the temple administration, is also a matter of question. The HR&CE should appoint a responsible officer to look into the case. The case has been adjourned to January 20th, 2022.

“When rape is inevitable, enjoy it”: Congress MLA K.R. Ramesh Kumar in Karnataka Assembly

Senior Congress MLA and former Karnataka Assembly speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar made a statement yesterday saying, “When rape is inevitable, enjoy it,” in the Karnataka Assembly. The statement came as a reply to the current speaker, Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri, and it has sparked a controversy.

Kumar, said to the Speaker, “There’s a saying… when rape is inevitable, lie down and enjoy it. That’s exactly the position into which you are.” Kageri laughed in response. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The MLAs had requested the speaker for time to discuss farmer’s issues in the Assembly. Telling members to take a decision on their own, Kageri looked at former speaker Kumar and said, “I feel, let’s enjoy the situation. I can’t keep this under control and take it forward in a systematic way.” Kumar made the sexist and offensive statement as a reply to this.

Ramesh Kumar later apologised for his statement. However, no Media channel or Journalist has covered this issue. BJP Media Spokesperson SG Suryah asked, “Where are all the media houses and journalists now?” on Twitter in Tamil. Check out the tweet here:

Vishwa Hindu Parishad demands complete ban on Tablighi Jamaat in India

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded the Central government for a complete ban on Tablighi Jamaat in India. In addition, the organisation also requested that the government crackdown Darul Uloom Deoband and Popular Front of India, as they give ‘direct or indirect nourishment to Tablighi Jamaat’.

Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia, a Muslim country, had announced the ban of Tablighi Jamaat in their country. There were reports that said that Saudi was threatened because of this organisation. Tablighi Jamaat has become a matter of discussion in many countries around the world, due to this reason.

The statement let out by VHP said, “”Not only Bharat (India) but the whole world is in a serious trouble today due to the transgressions of the Tablighi Jamaat and its Nizamuddin Markaz. The VHP demands a complete ban on Tablighis, Tablighi Jamaat and Ijtema (religious congregation) in India be imposed. The building of Nizamuddin Markaz and the bank accounts associated with it should be sealed. Their economic sources and resources should be found out and plugged.”

“Puthiya Tamilagam’s next Hindu conference in Srivilliputhur on March 9th” : Dr. Krishnaswamy

devendrakula vellalar puthiya tamilagam chief hindu nation

Puthiya Tamilagam party chief Dr. Krishnaswamy has said that the Hindu Uprising and Coordination Conference is scheduled to be held on 9th March, 2022 in Srivilliputhur.

Speaking at Virudhunagar, the chief said, “The Puthiya Tamilagam Silver Jubilee inaugurations happened as a district Hindu Uprising conference in Tenkasi. Next, Hindu Uprising and Coordination conferences are to be held in every district. It is said to happen on March 9th 2022, in Srivilliputhur.

Hindu leaders from all over India are to participate in this conference. Even though India has a majority of Hindus, Hindus in the country, especially in Tamil Nadu are ashamed of even calling themselves Hindus. This situation should change and Hindus should be proud of their identity. This should then reflect the identity of the Indian nation. Inequalities between Hindus should be eliminated and social harmony and equality should be achieved. ”

In addition, he also spoke about governance in the state. “The Central Government has reduced Petrol and Diesel prices by ₹10 per litre. The State government should reduce the prices by ₹10 per litre too,” he said.
