While Sri Lanka Allows Chinese Spy Ship To Dock In Its Waters, India Gives $1 Bn To Modernize Its Railways

After the Sri Lankan economy found itself amid massive debt owed to China, India displayed remarkable magnanimity by supporting its neighbor in their time of need. India stepped up its assistance to Sri Lanka’s ailing railway system with an investment exceeding $1 billion through five Lines of Credit (LoC) projects.

However, Sri Lanka continues to grant permission for China to dock its communication spy ship to monitor India’s missile tests in our eastern seaboard. Despite this, India remains the sole creditor providing vital financial and other assistance to Sri Lanka’s railway network.

Ambassador Gopal Baglay, the High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka, emphasized the significance of this signaling project, calling it a game-changer. It promises to provide smoother transportation, turbocharge economic recovery, and strengthen cooperation between the two nations. This information was shared by the Indian High Commission in its recent announcement on Thursday, September 21.

Ambassador Baglay also added that in the current climate, this LoC project symbolizes India’s unwavering commitment to stand by Sri Lanka, according to a report in the Economic Times.

A contract was signed between the Ministry of Transport and Highways of Sri Lanka and Indian Railway Construction International Limited (IRCON Ltd), a wholly-owned entity of Indian Railways, for the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of a signaling system for Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) from Maho to Anuradhapura. India provided funding under a $318 million LoC, a substantial sum for Sri Lanka’s railway infrastructure.

IRCON Ltd has completed various projects in Sri Lanka, including significant modernization and repair work for Sri Lanka Railways. One of the key projects carried out by IRCON was the complete track rehabilitation work from Anuradhapura to Omanthai. Starting in January 2024, work will commence on the Anuradhapura to Maho section, further enhancing Sri Lanka’s railway connectivity.

Sri Lanka’s Transport Minister, Bandula Gunawardane, expressed gratitude to India and singled out the unwavering support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government during financially challenging times. Gunawardane further stated that India has been the lifeline for Sri Lanka Railways, providing crucial Lines of Credit when essential maintenance seemed impossible.

Sri Lankan Railways faced dire straits, and as the island nation’s financial troubles worsened, leading to its most severe economic crisis to date, they were in no position to carry out necessary maintenance work. This resulted in frequent signal failures and train derailments, with a total of 117 train derailments in 2022.

Pakistan: 14 Year Old Girl In Lahore Shoots Her Father For Raping Her Over And Over

In the Islamic State of Pakistan, a fourteen-year-old girl shot and killed her own father for raping her over the last three months. The incident took place in Lahore’s Gujjarpura neighborhood where the minor revealed to the authorities how her own biological father had been sexually abusing her for the previous three to four months.

She told the police that she was fed up after being regularly raped by her father and thus made up her mind to kill him, reports the Express Tribune.

According to the statement given by the victim to the police, “She was going through hell and decided to kill her rapist father and hence shot him dead using his gun.” As per the reports, the rape victim shot her father in the head while he was sleeping.

However, the victim’s family members which include her mother and brother said they did not know that her father was raping her. In fact, the mother had gone to lengths not to involve the police in this matter. But the loud gunshot was heard by neighbors and the police were called.

As per a report by War Against Rape (WAR) WAR, over 82% of rapists in Pakistan are family members including fathers, brothers, grandfathers, and uncles of the victims. In Pakistan, at least 11 cases of rape are reported everyday, with over 22,000 reports filed 2015–2020; however, at the end of that period in 2020, only 4,000 of those cases had moved to court.

Pakistan is also notorious for honor killing and in cases where a girl gets pregnant after being raped by a blood relative, it is most often not reported and instead, the family would take the victim to a gynecologist for an abortion to terminate the pregnancy. Since Pakistan is a very patriarchal society women are financially dependent on men, so they ensure the rape is hidden from authorities.

The Vaccine War: An Antidote To Urduwood Cinema

In the vast tapestry of Indian cinema, there exists a potent thread known as the ‘Emotional Quotient.’ Filmmakers who skillfully weave this emotional thread into their narratives often create lasting impressions and carve their names in the annals of cinematic history. One such maestro of emotional storytelling is Vivek Agnihotri. His latest endeavor, “The Vaccine War,” not only captivates audiences but also sends a powerful message to the world that Bharatiyas in #Urduwood are capable of producing exceptional cinema that resonates deeply with viewers.

A standout element of the film is the triumphant return of Nana Patekar, an actor whose absence from the screen was felt by audiences across the nation. In “The Vaccine War,” Patekar embraces a role that seems tailor-made for his remarkable talents. His portrayal has garnered unanimous appreciation, reaffirming his status as a stalwart of Bharatiya cinema. Credit is due not only to Patekar but also to the casting director for their astute selection of the entire ensemble cast. Brace yourselves, as Patekar’s performance is guaranteed to elicit tears and applause throughout the film.

The film’s background music (BGM) is another facet that deserves special mention. It functions as a silent yet powerful narrator, seamlessly enhancing the emotional depth of each scene. The BGM masterfully conjures feelings of joy, melancholy, and compassion, perfectly aligned with the narrative’s ebb and flow. Rohit Sharma, the maestro behind this musical journey, has undoubtedly done justice to the film with his exceptional composition.

The title of the film, “The Vaccine War,” is a succinct encapsulation of its central theme. Yet, to fully appreciate its essence, one must immerse themselves in its narrative. In an interview, Nana Patekar revealed that Vivek Agnihotri convinced him to join the project with just one scene in mind—a scene in which Patekar had to utter the words ‘India Can Do It.’ This particular moment stands as a testament to Patekar’s formidable acting skills, for which he is celebrated by audiences and critics alike.

Critics, in their discerning scrutiny of films, often evaluate their portrayal of Bharatiya culture and the technical aspects that underpin their storytelling. In the case of “The Vaccine War,” critics will find themselves hard-pressed to identify any shortcomings. This film not only underscores the remarkable prowess of Bharatiya cinema on the international stage but also delivers an exemplar of storytelling, ensuring that there is never a dull moment from start to finish.

One could easily envision every screening of “The Vaccine War” culminating with a thunderous standing ovation—a collective expression of appreciation for the ‘Narishakti’ (women power) depicted in the film. This portrayal beautifully aligns with the historic 33% women reservation policy introduced by the Modi government. The film serves as a poignant reminder that Bharat should rally around cinematic gems like this one, supporting it by thronging theaters in large numbers. “The Vaccine War” merits success not solely due to its celebration of Bharatiya achievements or Nana Patekar’s triumphant return but also because of the sheer cinematic brilliance envisioned by the director during its conceptualization.

“The Vaccine War” is more than just a movie; it represents a milestone in the journey of Bharatiya cinema. It is a celebration of our emotional depth, our cultural richness, and our unyielding spirit—a spirit that asserts, “India Can Do It.” The film not only pays homage to our nation’s accomplishments but also presents them with a touch of cinematic magic, ensuring that audiences of all backgrounds can connect with its narrative.

As viewers immerse themselves in the world of “The Vaccine War”, they will be transported to a realm where storytelling takes center stage. Every frame is meticulously crafted, every dialogue meticulously delivered, and every emotion palpably felt. It is a testament to the director’s vision and the dedication of the entire cast and crew that the film unfolds as a symphony of emotions and storytelling excellence.

Beyond the captivating narrative and the stellar performances, “The Vaccine War” carries a deeper message. It serves as a mirror to society, reflecting the voices that sometimes seek to undermine the very essence of Bharatiya culture. Through its characters, the film boldly confronts and exposes those who espouse anti-Indian sentiments. For every nationalist viewer, watching these voices named and shamed is a satisfying treat.

In conclusion, “The Vaccine War” is not just a cinematic triumph; it is a celebration of Bharatiya cinema’s ability to touch the hearts and souls of audiences worldwide. It is a testament to the power of storytelling, the resilience of our cultural identity, and the unwavering spirit that defines our great nation. As the film graces the silver screen, it calls upon every Indian to unite in support, to celebrate our achievements, and to embrace the emotional journey it offers. “The Vaccine War” is not merely a movie; it is an emotional and cinematic masterpiece that demands recognition and applause, an ode to the rich tapestry of Bharatiya culture and our collective belief that indeed, “India Can Do It.”

DMK’s Interference In Temple Affairs: A Scheme For Destruction-Mutilation-Kaput Of Sanathana Dharma

On the 14 September 2023, just a day before the birth anniversary of Karunanidhi’s mentor, CN Annadurai, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, tweeted that he had appointed individuals from all castes, including women, to serve as temple priests as part of his Dravidian Model Governance. He wrote:

Despite women’s achievements as pilots and astronauts, they were barred from the sacred role of temple priests, deemed impure, even in the temples for female deities. But change is finally here! In Tamil Nadu, as our #DravidianModel Government has removed the thorn from Thanthai Periyar’s heart by appointing people of all castes as priests, women are also now stepping into the sanctums, bringing a new era of inclusivity and equality.

This tweet and the issuance of eligibility certificates on the completion of a one-year course to serve as temple priests to 94 persons, including three women, are seen as part of a larger agenda to destroy Sanatana Dharma, as Udhayanidhi announced a few days prior to this announcement. To clear any doubts about what he said, Udhayanidhi once again reiterated that his party, the DMK, was created with the purpose of eradicating Sanatana Dharma. That may be true, and we, the people, are to blame for not sensing the DMK’s plan when it was formed by Annadurai.

DMK – An Anti-Thesis To Morality And Hindu Culture

Annadurai founded the DMK by severing his ties with EV Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers) on the pretext of objecting to EVR marrying his adopted daughter, who was 38 years younger than him. Marrying one’s own (or adopted) daughter is certainly not a tenet of Sanatana Dharma, as we learn from the rebuke of Vaali by Rama in Valmiki Ramayana.

In his reply to Vaali, who accused him of hitting him, Rama admonished him for renouncing Sanatana Dharma by misbehaving with Ruma, his brother’s wife, who was like his daughter-in-law (“Bhraatur vartasi bhaaryaayaam tyaktvaa dharmam Sanaatanam,” भ्रातुर् वर्तसि भार्यायाम् त्यक्त्वा धर्मम् सनातनम् Valmiki Ramayana: 4-18-18).

Marrying one’s own daughter or another man’s wife is strictly against Dharma, as the celebrated poet Thiruvalluvar devoted a full chapter to explaining why one should not marry another man’s wife. This was followed by many leaders of the DMK, more as a breach than adherence. Not only this, every kind of Dharmic principle has been flouted by the DMK leaders right from its inception. Dismantling Hindu culture has been their main agenda, which we realized only through decades of their concerted efforts to attack Brahmins, which has now progressed into demolishing the temple culture of the Hindus.

In his very first film named ‘Parashakti,’ which identified Karunanidhi as a renowned dialogue writer, there was abject denigration of Hindu culture, criticism of Hindu beliefs, and idol worship. In that movie, Karunanidhi went to the extent of portraying a temple priest (Brahmin) attempting to rape a woman inside a temple – something outrageous and difficult to even imagine at that time (1952). But he did get away with all that in the name of freedom of speech accorded by none other than a famous Brahmin of those times, Rajaji!

DMK Which Mocked Brahmin Priests As Beggars Appoints Women As Priests

None came to the support of the Brahmins when they were physically assaulted on many occasions and continuously humiliated as beggars for accepting Dakshina offered by the devotees in temples. Ironically, today the same DMK wants people of other castes to pick up the puja plate to receive Dakshina from devotees for a service that even Brahmins themselves are not eligible to do unless they come from a specific family, with exhaustive training and ritual practices.

Priesthood in a Hindu temple is not a gainful vocation that one yearns to make a good living. The girls chosen by the DMK government have completed college studies with which they can make a good living. One of them was an MSc in mathematics, another a BSc in the same subject, and yet another was a BSc graduate in Visual Communications. They expressed their happiness for being gifted with a mobile phone by Udhayanidhi, who hailed this scheme as “Samatva Garbhagriha” (‘Samatva Karuvarai’ in Tamil), least caring that even kings and philanthropists who were instrumental in building temples never entered the Garbhagriha, the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, in deference to the rules of the temple.

If entry into a place of God limited to only a few is a custom that needs to be broken, the DMK first family is welcome to be a trendsetter by inviting these girls to the Puja room of their house to conduct the daily puja for the sake of Udhayanidhi’s mother, who never shied away from making temple tours, but they can never interfere with the temple conventions that have been in place for 1300 years, as Dr. R. Nagaswamy, the eminent epigraphist, once said based on evidence from numerous inscriptions.

So far, sixty-one terms related to temple services have been decoded from the inscriptions, which do not exclude women from service, but not everyone can perform the priestly service of the God. Women were given stately honors and land grants for singing and dancing services in the temple. From supplying flowers and puja items to cleaning the temple premises, women have served the temple with utmost devotion, but they never once considered it as something done for gainful occupation or ‘social equality.’ This term, projected as the theme of the so-called ‘Dravidian Model,’ is indeed an extension of the colonial agenda of breaking Hindu culture to assist Christian missionaries.

DMK Is Carrying Forward The British Legacy And Agenda

Two were the irritants for the British period missionaries – a self-sufficient education system and a selfless spiritual outlook nurtured by the Hindu Sanatan Thought. The Brahmin was the supplier of these two when the British came to our country. The Brahmins served either as teachers or as temple priests and were pivotal in the activities of every household in Bharat of those days. The Census Report of 1871 noted,

No child is born, named, betrothed, or married; nobody dies or is burnt; no journey is undertaken or auspicious day elected, no home is built, no agricultural operation of importance begins, or harvest gathered in, without the Brahmans being feted or fed; a portion of all the produce of the field is set apart for their use, they are consulted in sickness and in health, they are feasted in sorrow and in joy.

The influence of the Brahmins in all the affairs of the people is something the British wanted to thwart because the Brahmin posed an obstacle to their missionary and political goals. The Brahmin had to be stopped and discredited somehow. This is reflected in the Census report of 1871, which also says that the people were scared to see the census official because they thought (among other reasons) they had come to levy some new tax for feeding the Brahmins.

It was variously supposed that the tax would fall on those who trod on the village path, who swung an arm, who carried an umbrella, or who fed Brahmins.

A persistent campaign to defame Brahmins and separate the locals from them thus started in the middle of the 19th century. It is learned from the reports of the Collectors of Bellary, Malabar, and Madras in 1825 that the British successfully destroyed the education system by taking away the land grants of the Brahmins given by the kings of yore as ‘Acharya Bhog’ to facilitate teaching without a fee, on the death of the Brahmin to create a ‘School Fund.’ Soon this school fund was delinked from education, with the missionaries taking over the education system. Only the Hindu temple system was the unfinished agenda when the British left Bharat. That has been taken over by the Justice Party of EVR and his followers in the DK and the DMK.

The Brahmin, an essential service provider in keeping the sanctity of the temple, is being harassed in every conceivable way. By driving him out of the temple, the DMK thinks that the temple culture can be demolished. With that, the decimation of Hindu culture will be complete. The seeds of this crusade started in 1970 by Karunanidhi, who avowed to “remove the thorn in the heart” of EVR by driving out the Brahmins from the Garbhagriha and placing other castes inside. With the Supreme Court striking it down, he once again tried to introduce his temple agenda in 2006. This time, the Supreme Court delivered a judgment in 2015 that the appointments must be done according to the Agamas – doctrines that govern temple worship – ensuring the fundamental right to equality is not breached.

In the meantime, Karunanidhi, the self-appointed champion of Thirukkural, tacitly encouraged the Christianization of Thiruvalluvar by writing a foreword to a book that claimed that Thiruvalluvar was a Christian. His son made no efforts to conceal his agenda of destroying Hindu temple culture by releasing the first batch of government-certified priests from different castes in 2021 and the second batch now.

On this second occasion, his son Udhayanidhi minced no words on his party’s goal of destroying Sanatana Dharma. His alleged Christian Faith and eulogy of Christian missionaries as promoting education in Tamil Nadu were echoed in the utterances of the Assembly Speaker Appavu that Tamil Nadu would be like Bihar but for the works of Christian missionaries.

The Hindus of Tamil Nadu are facing an existential threat from the DMK, which wants to see a Christian State in Tamil Nadu. Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu BJP President, recently annotated the DMK as Dengue-Malaria-Kosu (which means mosquito). It will be more apt to say that the DMK stands for Destruction-Mutilation-Kaput of the Hindu Sanatan culture.

Bhoomi Pujan Done On Semiconductor Plant In Gujarat, Chips To Rollout By December 2024

In a significant development to bolster India’s capability to manufacture semiconductors, the US-based Micron Technology is investing ₹22,500 crore in the project. According to Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Saturday (23 September 2023) said the “Bhoomi Pujan” (groundbreaking ceremony) for the country’s first semiconductor plant has taken place in Gujarat.

This is a pivotal moment for India as the country’s first semiconductor plant is being built that will serve the need for global requirements without any hindrance in the supply chain. Also, it is an important step towards a self-reliant India as semiconductors are the driving force in technology. The Union Minister said that the construction of the semiconductor plant would be completed soon, and the first indigenous microchips are expected to be rolled out by December 2024.

“Today ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the first semiconductor plant was conducted. This is an important step in carrying forward the PM’s vision (of Atmanirbhar Bharat). The construction of the plant will be completed soon and the first indigenous microchips will roll out from here by December 2024,” Mr Vaishnaw said.

The minister of Electronics and Information Technology further added, “In 2014, the manufacturing cost of mobile phones in India was ₹ 17,000 crores. This has now soared to ₹ 3,65,000 crores. The electronics industry, once valued at ₹ 1,90,000 crores, has expanded to be worth ₹ 8,30,000 crores. “Exports have increased fivefold, rising from ₹ 40,000 crores to ₹ 2,00,000 crores,”.

The construction of this semiconductor plant is only the first step for India to become a major player in the manufacture and export of semiconductor chips as the nation is working to become a major semiconductor hub.

India started the semiconductor mission in 2021 as the world was emerging from Covid which had created problems in the supply chain. For a country like India which is now the leader in cell phone manufacturing, semiconductors is the driving force and it must not find itself standing in the queue to get the semiconductor technology.

On June 22, the Taiwan based global semiconductor giant Micron announced it has plans to invest USD 825 million in building a new assembly and test facility in Gujarat that will meet both domestic and international demand. But more importantly, it reinforces India’s commitment to self-reliance in semiconductor technology.

Beware Telangana, Congress Repeats Karnataka Poll Promises Which Will Definitely Bankrupt The State

Within two months of taking over the reins in Karnataka in May of this year, the Congress was forced to accede to claims that they would not be able to fulfill the unrealistic poll promises they had made to the people without amendments or attaching riders/conditions to the promised electoral incentives. The Congress is now repeating Karnataka’s tall pre-electoral promises for Telangana which is scheduled for state elections before the end of the year.

The Congress party refers to its Telangana’s pre-electoral sops as their “six guarantees”, similar to their “five guarantees” promised during the vigorous campaigning for Karnataka’s recent elections. The party’s Telangana state “six guarantees” are:

1) Mahalakshmi: ₹2,500 per month financial assistance to women and gas cylinders at ₹500.
2) Gruha Jyothi: 200 units of free electricity to each poor household + Free travel for women in state transport buses.
3) Rythu Bharosa: ₹15,000 for farmers, ₹12,000 per year for agricultural labourers, and a bonus of ₹500 per quintal for paddy above the minimum support price.
4) Indiramma Indlu: ₹5 lakh for the construction of houses for the homeless, besides a 250 square yard plot for houses of the families of martyrs in the state.
5) Yuva Vikasam: ₹5 lakh financial assistance to students from poor backgrounds for pursuing higher education, establishing “Telangana International Schools” in every block.
6) Cheyutha: health insurance cover of up to ₹10 lakh and ₹4,000 pension to the poor.

The Congress won the May 2023 Karnataka state elections on a combination of a weak campaign by the state’s BJP riddled with infighting and their own campaign strategy mainly anchored on attractive but unfeasible, fiscally irresponsible poll promises made to the people of the state.

In the first legislative session after coming to power, the party admitted there may be a delay in implementing the promises aside from adding riders/conditions for their unrealistic, expensive promises in order to meet the expenses from the state’s budget at least partially without incurring massive debts.

Karnataka’s chief minister Siddaramaiah flew to New Delhi recently to request the central government for additional funds or loans to fulfill the impractical pre-poll promises made by his party. However, the BJP at the Centre refused to entertain his requests in part or full. The Congress cried foul but in administrative circles, it was merely seen as an affirmation of the BJP’s policy against an unhealthy Congress-Communist-Socialist party culture of extreme welfarism and free dole with no strings attached, which is both financially feasible and unsustainable in the long run – Impractical, irresponsible spending of the country’s or a state’s resources, weakens its economy, does not result in creating qualitative employment opportunities and does not bring about a dignified upliftment of the poor, given the cumbersome bureaucratic process and a corruption-prone system.

Karnataka CM, Siddaramaiah who came back from New Delhi, sulking and fuming after his request for a financial bail-out was rejected by the Centre, may have had second thoughts about the unattainable pre-election promises he and his colleagues had recklessly made in order to win the elections but his party seems to have no regrets in repeating the mistake in Telangana by unbashedly announcing the same unfeasible, irresponsible promises in Telangana. Will the people get swayed by a bouquet of attractive but unrealistic promises and give the Congress a second chance it is desperately waiting for?

At the Congress’s CWC (Central Working Committee) meeting held at Hyderabad last week, it was Sonia Gandhi, rather than the de facto party president Mallikarjuna Kharge, who announced the schemes for the state where it appears to be a distant third to the Chief Ministership’s chair in Telangana, lagging behind K Chandrasekhar Rao’s ruling BRS party (Bharath Rashtra Samithi) and the BJP. Many see the Congress’s unrealistic poll promises as its leadership’s desperate attempt at wooing the people, staying relevant in the state’s politics, and regaining its past glory (easy wins for lack of strong competition in the earlier decades).

In the meanwhile, the Congress’s ‘six guarantees’ pre-poll manifesto is attracting jokes across the board. Senior BRS party leader, T Harish Rao who is the brother-in-law of Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao and Telangana’s Minister for Medical Affairs, Health, and Finance, has asked the Congress to first start implementing its tall poll promises in Karnataka where it has admitted to running into financial difficulties before it makes similar promises to fool the people of Telangana.

Jammu Court Initiates Inquiry Into Complaint Requesting FIR Against Udhayanidhi Stalin

Legal action against Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his controversial comments regarding Sanatan Dharma commenced in a Jammu court on September 22. This development follows an application submitted by members of the Ekun Sanatan Bharat Dal on September 16, seeking an FIR against the DMK leader for his contentious remarks calling for the “eradication” of Sanatan Dharma.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for 20 October 2023, with a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) from Jammu appointed as the Enquiry Officer.

Speaking at the “Eradicate Sanatan Conclave”, DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said “Mosquitoes, dengue, flu, malaria, corona – we should not oppose these things. They’ve to be eradicated completely. Same is the case with Santanam (Hinduism). Our first work should be to abolish/eradicate Sanatanam instead of opposing it. So, my appreciations to you all for giving an apt title to the meeting.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, has firmly refused to apologize for his comment characterizing Sanatana Dharma as a disease that should be eliminated. He has reiterated his readiness to face any legal consequences for his statements.

MK Stalin had recently adviced DMK members to refrain from making any comments about Sanathana Dharma, a request made in response to several party members making headlines for such remarks. However, Udhayanidhi Stalin went against his own father’s advice reiterating that the party (DMK) was formed with the goal of eradicating Sanathana Dharma and will continue to work towards achieving it.

DMK MP A Raja had likened Sanathana Dharma to HIV AIDS and leprosy at an event and in what seemed like a Zoom call with other members of the leftist Dravidianist ecosystem adding that Sanathana Dharma was a nuisance to the world.

The Ekun Sanatan Bharat Dal assert that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s choice of words was ‘genocidal,’ as they “created ill-will among practitioners of different religions” and “caused fear in the minds of the applicants as well as the public at large.” They further allege that the minister intentionally made such statements to “outrage the religious feelings of Sanatan Dharma practitioners.”

The Sanatan Dharma controversy has also reached the Supreme Court, which issued a notice to Stalin and the Tamil Nadu government, requesting their response to a plea seeking an FIR against the DMK leader.

Additionally, notices were served to DMK MP A Raja, VCK MP Thirumavalavan, CPI-M MP SU Venkatesan, Tamil Nadu DGP, Greater Chennai Police Commissioner, Union Home Ministry, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department PK Sekar Babu, Chairman of Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission Peter Alphonse, and others involved in the matter. The plea was submitted by B Jagannath, who, as per his lawyer, believes that the minister allegedly advised school students not to believe in Sanatan Dharma.

India Has Emerged As A Great Manufacturing Success Over The Last 5 Years: BCG Study

In the last five years, India has emerged as a great manufacturing success in the global arena as per a study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), quoted in an Economic Times report.

According to the BCG report titled ‘Harnessing the Tectonic Shifts in Global Manufacturing,’, Indian exports to the US surged by $23 billion, which means there was a 44% increase from 2018 to 2022. However, China on the other hand has experienced a 10% drop in its exports to the US which is not good news for the world’s number two economy.

The study by BCG has focused on the transformation in manufacturing and sourcing across various industries based on its analyses of trade disputes, the covid pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain disruptions. That has led many global companies to reconsider their manufacturing and sourcing strategies,  and India is fast emerging as a destination where one can experience uninterrupted supply chain management.

As per the study conducted by BCG, the average cost of Indian-made goods imported into the US is 15% lower compared to goods manufactured in the US. This calculation is based on factory wages, productivity, logistics, tariffs, and energy use. However, Chinese goods offer only a 4% cost advantage over US-made products and are 21% more expensive when subject to US tariffs related to the trade war.

But the most interesting development is the semiconductor and material shipments from India to the US. With the problem looming large over the China-Taiwan, Indian semiconductor manufacturing saw a remarkable 143% increase over the past five years, even though it was from a modest base. Meanwhile, China’s exports in semiconductors decreased by  29%. The other sectors that saw an increase in exports to the US are the auto components by 65%, and mechanical machinery exports grew by 70%.

Ravi Srivastava, the global leader of BCG’s operations practice speaking to NDTV said, “India is in a strong position to emerge as a strategic export platform for many global markets in the years ahead across a range of industries and has particularly benefited from significant shifts away from China as an export platform for the US.”

What is even more interesting and a worrying trend for China, more than 90% of North American manufacturing executives surveyed by the leading consultancy company said that they have moved some of their production and sourcing to different countries over the past five years—and they will continue to do the same for the next five years.

K’taka Congress Min Priyank Kharge Targets Writer Who Shared Video Of RS Chairman Schooling Congress MP Venugopal On Prez & VP Absence At Parliament Opening

The Congress and other Opposition parties have been questioning the Narendra Modi government on why the President of India was not invited for inauguration of the Parliament. The same issue was raised by Congress MP KC Venugopal in the Rajya Sabha where he went on an emotional outburst seeming to be concerned about the respect accorded to President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar.

Two major events happened in last 1 month. One is the inauguration of this Parliament building. We all were expecting Hon’ble President and Hon’ble Vice President will be there. You are the custodian of this Rajya Sabha sir! You are the Chair. It is an insult to us, Rajya Sabha members that our Chairman is not there. Our Chairman is not there in that time. Our President of India is not there in that time.“, Congress MP KC Venugopal said.

The Vice President of India responded saying that the President and the Vice President have been accorded the highest respect in this country and that one can’t trade ignorance of others.

The Vice President who had been presiding over the session shut up the Congress member by saying, “Hon’ble members we cannot trade on deficiencies and ignorance of others. Let me make it very clear, the Vice President and the Honourable President have been accorded the highest respect in the country. There has been no constitutional transgression. The position of the Vice President or the Chairman has to be kept at the level as expected and that was done and that is what you have seen in the last 3 days also”.

Turning to Venugopal, he said, “I would appeal to you, as a member of the leading opposition party, you must do your homework, find out, it doesn’t send a good message when you bring in the Hon’ble President also. Read the constitution and you will find the role has been defined categorically. Leave it at that. I can assure you, your Chairman will not allow anyone to denude his power and therefore there has been no denudation. Get over this perception. Point out a single article of the Constitution which according to you has been transgressed.”

He added, “Hon’ble members, the first amendment of the Indian Constitution, please recall it – there was a provision by the framers of the Constitution that the Hon’ble President will address every session of Parliament. That was the original prescription of the Constitution. And the amendment was “once a year”. Hon’ble President has to actually act in accord with the Constitution.”

A video of this exchange was shared by Chakravarty Sulibele, a renowned writer from Karnataka.

Columnist Chakravarty Sulibele accused Congress member KC Venugopal of having read a “Congress troll’s message” and that he tried to present it emotionally in the Parliament.

Priyank Kharge replied to this post saying “Another attempt to hit & run! Both you and the Chair failed to grasp the issue at hand. It wasn’t about addressing the Parliament but rather why the President of India wasn’t extended an invitation to the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Of course, you can’t answer me on this as it is above your pay grade in your troll hierarchy. Also, Don’t expect you to understand these issues as the chief spin doctor from WhatsApp university. BTW, @astitvam  , I think you need to worry about why you concealed the fact that Chaitra Kundapura and her associates cheated Govind Babu Poojary of crores by promising him a BJP assembly ticket.”

Chakravarthy Sulibele replied to Priyank Kharge stating, “Oh dear you have come again? Last time you had started the conversation and ran away. Absolutely Hit and RUN! You people are repeatedly being humiliated and still show your face. Do you remember Justice Narasimha and Justice Maheshwari who had thrashed the PIL that you dot parties took to the SC? Here is the link, Enjoy” and shared the link to the court order. He added, “Everyone knows what congress doing in Karnataka! Filed an FIR on me for a FB comment and now on Vikram Hegde. If the same is extended to u and ur team will end up finishing ur five years in police stations.. And more over you took Puneeth Kerehalli to custody under Goonda act and do you remember how the honourable court slammed the government? If you have not seen the copy then sharing it for you.. BTW Puneeth is free now..”

Priyank Kharge does not probably remember that it was his own party that opposed the election of President Draupadi Murmu and nominated Yashwant Sinha.

G-4 Nations Agree To Back Each Other’s Candidatures As New Permanent Members Of UNSC

After the successful completion of the G-20 summit that saw the inclusion of the African Union into its fold due to efforts made by India, in New York, the Foreign Ministers of G4 countries — India, Brazil, Germany, and Japan discussed the reformation and democratization of the UN Security Council.

Foreign Minister of Brazil Mauro Vieira, Federal Foreign Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoko Kamikawa, and Ministry of External Affairs, Secretary (West), Sanjay Verma met in the margins of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and discussed on the much-needed reforms of UNGA.

In a join statement issued by the G-4, that read “The Ministers underscored that multilateralism is under significant strain due to multiple and complex crises. Moreover, they concurred that the UN Security Council’s inability to effectively and timely address contemporary global challenges reinforces the urgent need for its comprehensive reform so that it better reflects contemporary geopolitical realities,”.

Post-Cold War there have been efforts to expand the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in both permanent and non-permanent categories of membership because it is essential to make the body more representative, legitimate, effective, and efficient. With the changing dynamics in geopolitics, all four foreign ministers agreed on the need to enhance the role and participation of developing countries in the Security Council, in both the permanent and non-permanent categories of members.

In the last ten years, there have been strong voices raised to recognize the historical injustice with regard to only five countries having the veto power in the Security Council, which has undermined the importance of increasing participation of under-represented and unrepresented groups and regions, such as Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean.

“In this context, the G4 Ministers reaffirmed their strong support to the Common African Position (CAP) and emphasized that Africa needs to be represented in both the permanent and non-permanent categories of membership of a reformed and expanded Security Council, in line with the CAP as enshrined in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration,” the joint statement further stated.

On the subject of the absence of meaningful progress on Security Council reform in the IGN (Intergovernmental Negotiations framework), the joint statement read, “In this context, the Ministers noted the Co-Chair’s proposal for a structured dialogue on individual models proposed by States and Groups and encourage renewed efforts by the PGA and the Co-Chairs to commence text-based negotiations without any further delay in the IGN”.

“They stressed, in doing so, the importance of adhering to the decision-making requirements and working methods laid out in the Charter of the United Nations and the rules and procedures of the General Assembly” it added.

“They reiterated their commitment to address the issue in the upcoming 78th Session of the UNGA and agreed to intensify dialogue with all Member States, with an aim to achieve concrete outcomes within a fixed time frame,” the statement further said.

It is now widely recognized that the G-4 is a power block and if Brazil is excluded, behind China which is the world’s second-largest economy, Japan, Germany, and India take the spot as leaders in GDP. This reality is now being put in motion to enhance the role and participation of G4 members as major contributing countries to the maintenance of international peace and security in the Security Council.

“The Ministers stressed that the future of international governance structures rests on their capacity to adapt and remain fit for purpose. The longer it takes to reform the UN Security Council, the more its effectiveness will be called into question,” the joint statement added.

But the most important meeting of the G4 Ministers resulted in their support for each other’s candidatures as new permanent members in a reformed and democratized Security Council, which will lead to an open, transparent, and inclusive process, consistent with the UN Charter.
