The Andhra Pradesh government will provide free electricity to Ganesh pandals across the State during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology Nara Lokesh announced on Wednesday.
Lokesh said the decision was aimed at supporting communities organising celebrations across Andhra Pradesh.
“I am happy to announce that this Ganesh Chaturthi, all Ganesh pandals across Andhra Pradesh will be provided with free electricity,” he said in a post on X.
“This is a major festive initiative by our government to support communities celebrating across the State and make the celebrations even more vibrant,” he added, wishing that Lord Ganesha would bless families with “prosperity, happiness and success.”

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in the State are scheduled to be held from September 14 to 25.
