“We are not 3.5%, we are 35% of the population”: Christian preacher in TN

A video going viral on social media shows a pastor aggressively proclaiming that those who convert to Christianity and do not identify themselves as Christians should come forward and openly identify themselves as Christians.

In the video, a pastor speaks passionately about his religion, saying ‘throw away all privileges and jobs and come out and declare yourself a Christian. As the government says, 3.5% of the total population are Christians in India. The truth is, we are 35% of the total population’. This video is becoming viral on social media.

It is to be noted that Christian and Muslim organizations have come together to declare in all public meetings that those who support their religion should vote for those who serve Muslim and Christian interests (respectively).

Earlier in February, a Christian pastor and a self-proclaimed ‘Bishop’ named Godfrey Noble said that government records won’t give the actual Christian population and emphasized that 35% of the population (2.75 crore voters) are Christians.
