TN: Man running children’s home arrested for sexually harassing young girls

Police have arrested a man for sexually harassing a girl at an orphanage near Vriddhachalam.

Jesudas Raja runs the Amala Children’s Nursery and School at Veerareddykuppam next to Virudhachalam in Cuddalore district.

Three girls from government run children’s home joined the school owned by Jesudas a few months back.

But a few days ago, Jesudas Raja lodged a complaint with the Alladi police station saying that the three girls, who were in his home a few days ago, were missing. Based on the complaint, the police launched a search looking for the girls.

Eventually the police found the girls and conducted an inquiry during which it was revealed that the girls were sexually harassed by Jesudas Raja and had fled from the home out of fear.

Following this, the police registered a case of sexual harassment against Jesudas Raja and arrested him under POCSO Act.

Activists are demanding for a detailed investigation by the CB-CID.
