A political buzz is reportedly growing within the DMK over an alleged strain in the relationship between former minister V. Senthil Balaji and Sabareesan, son-in-law of DMK president and MK Stalin, with speculation that the party leadership may be increasingly reluctant to continue backing him amid the legal cases surrounding him.
According to a report published by Junior Vikatan, differences are said to have intensified between Senthil Balaji and DMK first family’s son-in-law Sabareesan, particularly over financial dealings.

The report claims that with cases continuing to surround Senthil Balaji, sections of the DMK leadership have allegedly reached a point where they feel they can no longer “carry him”.
Senthil Balaji is said to be upset with the situation, while the alleged disagreement with Sabareesan has reportedly escalated into a verbal confrontation over money matters.
The developments have also reportedly caught the attention of the AIADMK leadership.
According to Junior Vikatan, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami is said to be attempting to draw Senthil Balaji back towards the AIADMK fold.
The report further claims that Palaniswami sees an opportunity to use Senthil Balaji’s possible return to settle an internal equation within the AIADMK’s western Tamil Nadu leadership. If Senthil Balaji were to return, the report suggests, the party could potentially remove former minister S. P. Velumani, whose equation with Senthil Balaji has been a source of political controversy.
