Madurai Collector presents “Best Social Service Award” to Islamist org PFI

On the occassion Republic Day, the District Collector of Madurai Dr. S. Aneesh Sekhar IAS presented the ‘Best Social Service Award’ to radical Islamist organization Popular Front of India (PFI).

The award was received by one S. Mohamed Abuthahir who is the Madurai District President of PFI.

Popular Front of India is an extremist Islamic organization whose members have indulged in crimes from murders to rioting. It has often been accused for involvement in anti-national and anti-social activities by the Indian Government. Indian intelligence agencies have reported the role of the PFI in several terror attacks.

In 2019, Pattali Makkal Katchi worker Ramalingam was brutally murdered near Thiruvidaimarudhur in Thanjavur district by members belonging to the Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India. He had resisted Islamic conversions in the Pakku Vinayagam Thoppy village near Kumbakonam.
