“Crown Prince Will Always Be A Playboy”: Annamalai Attacks Udhayanidhi

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai slammed the DMK government and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, accusing them of producing films to promote DMK’s “Crown Prince” Udhayanidhi Stalin.

On Wednesday (7 December 2022) while addressing a protest gathering at Annur, the BJP Tamil Nadu chief came down heavy on the DMK government led by MK Stalin, which has issued an order to acquire 3731 acres of land for setting up the TIDCO industrial park. Farm lands in six panchayats in the Coimbatore district, including Pallipalayam, Iluppanantham, Pogalur, Kuppanur, Akkarai Sengampalli, Vadakalur in Mettupalayam, and Annur unions are being acquired for the purpose.

Farmers in the area have formed a group called ‘Namathu Nilam Namathe’ to protest the acquisition of agricultural land for the construction of an industrial park. In this case, a protest was held on Wednesday (Dec. 7) against the DMK government’s acquisition of agricultural lands on the Annur-Othimalai road, led by the BJP Tamil Nadu state president Annamalai.

In a rally, Annamalai slammed the DMK government, accusing them of releasing films to promote “Crown Prince” Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Attacking Udhayanidhi, Annamalai said that no matter how much money is spent on promoting Udhayanidhi, “the Crown Prince will only remain a playboy.”

Annamalai said, “After coming to power, they released four movies to promote the Crown Prince. I’m telling this here – Be it for 80 years, even if 80 movies are released, or ₹8000 crore is spent, the Crown Prince will only remain a playboy.”

Making a reference to Udhayanidhi’s portrayal of a cop in Nenjukku Needhi, the BJP leader went on to say that wearing the police uniform should require a certain stature.

“The basic stature is to give assurance that I’ll protect the people and work for the people, but having Rs 120 crore, a production company, and hoping to become people’s protector will only happen in one’s dreams,” Annamalai said.

He also stated that “the Crown Prince will be crowned on December 12,” implying that Udhayanidhi will be sworn in as a cabinet minister the following week.
