Commie Neha Bora Claims “Priests Rape Women in Temples”, Says “Women Need Protection from Brahminism“

An old video of All India Students’ Association (AISA) national president Neha Bora has resurfaced on social media, triggering a political controversy over her remarks on Brahminism, Hindu religious texts and temple priests.

In the video, Bora alleges that women, including Brahmin women, are unsafe under what she describes as the Brahmanical social hierarchy. She also makes the claim that priests rape women inside temples, citing the Unnao and Kathua cases.

In the video, Bora describes Brahminism, or Brahmanvaad, as an oppressive socio-religious hierarchy, comparing it to patriarchy and capitalism. She argues that her criticism is directed at the system rather than individual members of a caste.

Invoking the Manusmriti and a controversial couplet from Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas, particularly the phrase “ताड़ने का अधिकार”, she argues that Brahmanical structures assign women a subordinate position.

Addressing women who support Brahminism, she said, “If you truly wish for Brahmanism to thrive, then do not roam the streets wearing T-shirts and trousers. Instead, go home, stay within the four walls, draw a long veil over your face, and sit at the feet of your husband or father—bowing down before them. For that is the very place that Brahmanism has assigned to you. I am simply pointing out that Brahmanism designates the same status for animals, the poor, the Shudras, and women: that they are all deemed fit to be subjected to taadna (punishment/subjugation).”

She further said, “Women need protection, especially from Brahminism. That Brahminism which designates the same status for animals, the poor, the Shudras, and women: that they are all deemed fit to be subjected to taadna (punishment/subjugation). This is the same Brahminism under which Brahmin women are unsafe, they are raped, priests rape them in temples. We saw such instances in Unnao and Kathua.”
