Calling Out TNM’s Casteist, Anti-Hindu And Dirty Piece Of Propaganda

The News Minute (TNM) has done it again. In a renewed attempt TNM has unleashed casteist venom to further the agenda of demonising Hinduism. In an article written by Neo Buddhist Ajay S Sekher and edited by a staunch follower of Jesus Christ Maria Teresa Raju, TNM in its latest article has gone out of the way, jumping leaps and bounds to propagate casteist venom and to tarnish the belief system of Hindus. This is not the first time that TNM has violated journalistic ethics with click baits and for views. In fact, this time around TNM oversteps to blur the line between facts and agenda-driven journalism. It is high time that we react to such hypocritic journalism which distorts reality to further a particular agenda.

Opinion Piece Or…

The article prima facie presents itself as unharmful, a regular opinion piece pointing out nuances of present-day politics. But a closer look into the work reveals that the article itself begins with a twisted headline; ‘Pinarayi and Stalin: The two lowered caste CMs striving to preserve an anti-caste memory’. Ignore the absurd idea of calling a Communist CM, leader of an atheist party a ‘lowered caste’ CM, the headline of the article itself twists the narrative by stating that both ‘Pinarayi’ and ‘Stalin’ are ‘Lowered’ caste CM. Is it mockery or trickery? It is hard to understand. But one thing is for sure, the headline in itself is a wanton attempt to symbolise that Hinduism itself has played an active role in keeping these leaders lowered. The author also conveniently forgets that the famed CM of Tamil Nadu along with his son are propagators of Christianity. Anyways the author and editor continue to smoke something illegal to carry on with their ‘Left-Liberal’ diatribe which is clearly visible as we read ahead.

The event which brought together these oppressive leaders of their respective states was the commemoration of the Channar revolt by Nadar women seeking the right to cover their breasts. The author began the article by stating that, ‘the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, spoke the truth when he said that the inhuman and casteist taxes on people’s breasts and heads were imposed by the Sanatana Dharma or the so-called Vedic Varnashrama Dharma, to divide them.’ These kinds of blanket statements placing the blame on a single religion can be done only by The News Minute. The neo-Buddhist author and Christian editor squarely conclude the initiative of abolishing breast tax was taken up in 1812 by the missionary and colonial British administrator Colonel John Munro. If there was a competition to please our old colonial masters, TNM might finish first even beating British publications. The distorted presentation of facts by TNM conveniently forgets about the existence of Indians as a community before the arrival of the British in India.

Breast Tax?

If we look into the struggle to cover breasts, we can have a cleaner insight into the subject without being polluted by the distorted narrative of TNM. During British colonial rule, the imposition of Victorian morality on India had a damaging effect on the country’s cultural practices. One example is the case of the Nadar women in Kerala, whose traditional attire involved covering only one breast. This was seen as scandalous by the British, who imposed their Victorian sense of modesty on the Nadar community, forcing them to cover both breasts. This restriction had a significant impact on the Nadar women’s way of life, as it was an integral part of their cultural identity. It also represented a loss of freedom and autonomy for them, as they were forced to conform to an alien cultural norm. This illustrates how the imposition of Victorian morality had negative consequences on Indian culture, as it suppressed and eroded unique cultural practices and norms. The staunch Christian editor of TNM conveniently ignores these truths and even goes to the extent of ignoring the atrocities committed by Christians in Kerala and upholds the Sanatana Dharma as the sole creator of immoral values.

During colonial times, some Christian missionaries in Kerala committed atrocities against Hindus who they saw as heathens or pagans, using violent and coercive means to convert them. The St. Thomas Church massacre of 1653 is a notorious incident where hundreds of Hindu devotees were killed, leading to mass conversions to the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Cultural and religious imperialism was also prevalent, with the destruction of Hindu temples and the imposition of Western customs on the local population. But these incidents do not qualify to gain attention from ‘Left-Liberal’ cohorts of TNM, only Sanatana Dharma does.

The author keeps on writing his immoral thesis even post this visible mishap. They continue to weave a fictional story of the political significance of the meeting between two CMs. The author states that the shared history of the two Chief Ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Pinarayi and Stalin, has brought them together amid the increasing prominence of Sanatana Dharma and caste Hindutva discourse in India. Together, their efforts may serve as a resistance to the communal and divisive agenda of cultural nationalism and the obscurantism of Vedic and Vedantic teachings. Forget the factual anomaly in these statements as according to the National Crime Records Bureau, there has been a decrease in the number of reported cases of crimes against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in India from 2017 to 2019. It is also a fact that post-Modi’s rise in Indian politics casteist politics and pride have been subsumed and replaced by national identity and pride. Instead of seeing this as a trend for the betterment of India, the author sees this as a disturbing trend.

The author dares to state that the CMs of Kerala and Tamil Nadu are defending against Sanatana Dharma. Sanatana Dharma, also known as Hinduism, is one of the oldest and most complex religions in the world. It is characterized by a diverse range of beliefs, practices, and traditions that have evolved over thousands of years, and it has played a significant role in shaping the culture and identity of India. Sanatana Dharma encompasses a wide variety of philosophical and spiritual traditions, including yoga, meditation, karma, and reincarnation. Many Hindus believe that Sanatana Dharma is the original culture of the people of India and has been passed down through generations. So, by stating that both CMs are resisting Sanatana Dharma, is the author trying to say that Hinduism is bad for the country? Or defending Hinduism is a noble deed? The author also makes critical mistakes of defining both these CMs as ‘old brothers of Sangam age,’ at this point I find it difficult to counter these arguments by the author as the article in TNM sounds like a delusional blabbering by a schizophrenic fool who is ignorant of basic facts and reality. The attack on Hindus in Kerala by the Pinarayi dispensation and anti-India rhetoric by Stalin has been conveniently forgotten by TNM while portraying these villains as champions of the people.

Sabarimala

The absurdity of the author does not stop there. The author continues to appropriate every Hindu tradition as Buddhist according to his ideology. The author disturbingly uses the term ‘Saverimala’ instead of ‘Sabarimala’ in the article. The author makes the bold claim that ‘Sabarimala’ is indeed a non-Vedic shrine appropriated by the Hindus. Sabarimala is the traditional name of the Hindu temple located in Kerala, India. Calling it “Saverimala” is considered a distortion of the original name and is not historically accurate. The name Sabarimala is derived from the words “Shabari” and “Malai” and has a religious and cultural significance. Trying to rename it as Saverimala is viewed as an attempt to rewrite history and promote a particular political or ideological agenda. Therefore, it is important to use the traditional name while referring to the temple. For the author and the editor, Hindus and Hinduism are just fodder for other proselytizing religions such as Christianity and Islam. The author also discredits Mahabharata and Ramayana by stating that these holy texts are recited by Hindutva forces to brainwash the Avarna masses! How did TNM even let this get published? The media and its editors stood silent when its author unleashed derogatory notions about epics that hold a special place in the collective conscience of all Indians. One can also dare TNM to make statements about other religions such as reading Quran or Bible to brainwash people.

Vaikom Temple

The author also tarnishes the famous Shiva temple of Vaikom stating that the huge stone Linga installed there in the Middle Ages by Pulikalan Chami or Vyaghrapada Maharshi is a mere stone suitable only for washing clothes. By calling Holy Lingam a stone for washing clothes, the author and TNM try to bleed Hinduism by tarnishing its idols and deities. It is for these kinds of works that Section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code exists, and certainly, this article qualifies by legal standards to attract this provision of law. The author not only tarnishes the Vaikom temple but also states about the imaginary role played by Periyar in Vaikom Satyagraha. Periyar, also known as E. V. Ramasamy did not play a prominent role in the Vaikom Satyagraha, which was a nonviolent protest against untouchability and discrimination in accessing public roads and temples in Kerala. The Vaikom Satyagraha was led by Mahatma Gandhi and supported by prominent leaders of the Indian National Congress, the Indian Nationalist Movement, and social reformers such as C. V. Kunhiraman, K. Kelappan, and T. K. Madhavan. Although EVR was also involved in social reform movements during that time, he had not yet emerged as a prominent leader in the region and was not involved in the Vaikom Satyagraha. By reading these conclusions by the author one thing stands clear – logic and truth took a vacation while he was writing this piece.

In recent years, there have been discussions and debates about the representation of Hinduism in Indian media, with some observers noting a trend of criticism and negativity towards Hinduism in certain sections of the media. Some critics argue that this trend is a reflection of a broader political and ideological climate in the country, where a particular narrative of secularism is promoted by some media outlets and political parties. Hinduism and followers of Sanatana Dharma constantly fall on the firing line of ‘Left-Liberal’ cabals who are trying to divide and rule the nation. The unification of Hindus in the nation and rising consciousness about Indian culture has smitten these groups who are proud of Lutyens and Macaulay’s sons. TNM, its author, and its editor have clearly violated journalistic ethics while writing and publishing this piece. By donning the colours of secularism and anti-casteism, TNM targets Brahmins and Hindus and ironically tries to sow seeds of division within the Hindu religion. The anti-national, ‘Left-Liberal’ gang shall not be allowed to thrive spewing venom among Indian citizens. The authorities, as well as TNM, shall take appropriate actions against the culprit in the interest of communal harmony in this nation.

Pastor Benedict Anto Sexted 3 Women From Same Family

Benedict Anto, the Kanya Kumari Pastor who was arrested recently following the release of his private videos with several women who attend the church, has allegedly been in a relationship with three women from the same family. It was discovered that the pastor had been sexting three women from the same family on Whatsapp.

Pastor Benedict Anto (29) of the Kanyakumari district’s Kollangode area was arrested and imprisoned a few days ago. An investigation by the Kanya Kumari cyber crime police revealed that the pastor’s family had objected to him marrying a woman he was in love with and that he wanted to quit his pastor job and wanted to engage in normal life like others.

Police also seized the pastor’s cell phone and laptop, which were sent to a lab for data recovery and further investigation. Several photos and videos of the pastor with several women have already been recovered by police from his laptop and phone. Police also began their investigation by questioning the women in the obtained photos, asking them if they had been blackmailed with the intimate photos.

According to reports, pastor Anto had intimate relationships with a variety of women, ranging from college students to older married woman. He is said to have been secretly sexting with three women from the same family, which includes mother, daughter, and daughter-in-law. Furthermore, none of the three were aware of this.

Kanyakumari SP who addressed the press regarding the issue said, “The cybercrime police have arrested the pastor Benedict Anto. The investigation is going on. Anyone involved in this crime will face legal consequences. The case is being investigated by the cyber crime police. If necessary, the priest will be taken into custody and questioned. Action will be taken against those who spread obscene pictures of the priest with the women on social media. Publishing obscene pictures of women is a crime under the law.”

Man Throws Acid On Wife Inside Coimbatore Court Premises, Second Incident In A Month

In a shocking incident, a man in Coimbatore’s court complex threw acid on his wife’s face. The incident took place when the couple allegedly visited the Coimbatore court to resolve a dispute. Sivakumar threw acid in the face of his wife Kavitha inside the court building. The acid attack also injured five people who were standing nearby Kavitha. All of the injured have been sent to a government hospital for treatment.

Kavitha, 33, of Kaveri Nagar in Coimbatore’s Ramanathapuram, was arrested in 2016 in connection with a chain theft from a bus passenger and was released on bail. She used to appear in court for hearings.

She appears to have been living apart from her two children and her husband, Siva, with whom she allegedly had frequent disagreements.

Siva, who had followed Kavitha to the Judicial Magistrate II, got into a heated argument with her while she was waiting in the court corridor on Thursday.

Siva poured acid on Kavitha while they were arguing, using a plastic bottle he had hidden. Kavitha was seriously injured. The incident occurred in broad daylight. Lawyers present attempted, but failed, to avert the attack. Due to acid spillage, one of the lawyers also received minor burns. The lawyers thrashed Siva and handed him over to the police. Kavita was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.

It should be noted that on February 13, a person was hacked to death outside the Coimbatore court premises by a gang. Another crime that occurred inside the court within a month demonstrates that the miscreants are not afraid of the police or other law enforcement agencies in the state.

In this instance, BJP Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan condemned the incident and urged the DMK government to beef up security in the court building, as this was the second such incident in a month.

“When Are You Going To Arrest Dravidian Model Obscene Speakers?”: Dr Krishnasamy Slams DMK Govt

Following the arrest of 24-year-old Pradeep, one of the admins of the Voice of Savukku Twitter handle, social media is now flooded with memes and troll videos mocking Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan, and their announcement about “eligible beneficiaries” for a monthly assistance scheme for woman head of the family.

Netizens shared abusive tweets made by DMK comrades derogating women and wondered if the police department would take action against the DMK cadres.

Several opposition leaders including the Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai condemned the arrest of a 24-year-old Pradeep for a video meme criticizing the DMK government and its policies.

In this context, Dr. Krihnasamy of the Puthiya Tamizhagam party condemned Pradeep’s arrest for a video meme. Posting abusive speeches by DMK leaders, including TN CM MK Stalin, Dr. Krishnasamy questioned the DMK government, saying, “If you are going to take action on people who insult women, when are you going to take action on the Dravidian Model Obscene Speakers?”

DMK leader Saidai Sadhik proudly explained in a public meeting, how former CM Karunanidhi verbally abused women congress MLA in the assembly. He said, “A female Congress MLA called Ananthanayaki had questioned in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, as to where the so-called Dravida Nadu (Dravidian country) was, to which Karunanidhi replied saying she should lift her petticoat and check underneath to find it.”

During the 2016 election campaign, MK Stalin made sexual innuendos about then-CM Jayalalithaa and the ADMK candidates, claiming, “Their campaign stages will have multiple levels at different heights. Jayalalitha used to sit on the top level of the stage while the candidates were seated below her on the bottom level…Jayalalitha is on top and the candidates below…(Stalin laughs)..I am just saying… nothing else.”

During the peak of the election campaign in March 2021, DMK Lok Sabha MP and the party’s deputy general secretary A. Raja spoke ill of then CM Palaniswami’s mother when he was canvassing in support of DMK candidate Ezhilan in the Thousand Lights constituency in Chennai. He said, “Our DMK leader Stalin is the leader who was born of pure blood and as a fully grown healthy baby, as well as by legitimate means, whereas Edappadi Palaniswami was born premature, and was born out of an illegitimate relationship.”

PM Narendra Modi was verbally abused by DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy, who said, “Okkalao**li.. You bloody tea vendor… if Modi, who travels the world on public money, can become Prime Minister of India, why can’t Rahul Gandhi, whose family donated their entire fortune to the country, become Prime Minister? Okkaro**li..”

Udhayanidhi Stalin made disgusting remarks about Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s appointment as Chief Minister saying that he would have ‘gone inside Sasikala’s legs’ to get the post of CM.

A DMK leader abused the ADMK spokesperson on a Youtube channel, saying, “Vindhya (ADMK stage speaker)… She is a Kodambakkam item (Prostitute) from Andhra. She is a number one piece. She worked as a prostitute in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Rajmundri. She visited several lodges in Hosur. Vindhya gave a rape complaint against a businessman in Hosur. But the doctor in Hosur who examined her said, She cannot be raped because she is a platform case (roadside prostitute).”

Another DMK leader made derogatory remarks about Jayalalitha, saying, “Jayalalitha, who has gone (to sleep with) half of Tamil Nadu’s voters, is questioning our leader Karunanidhi. O**ale… You have an excessive sexual desire. You sought that Stalin and Karunanidhi come to you after resigning. Tell us where they should come.”

He also said,” You (Jayalalitha) are always claiming that you don’t have kids to amass wealth Is it our fault? We would have tried if you had asked us at the right time. You are telling us now. Even if you try now, it will not happen (Jayalalitha becoming pregnant).”

DMK Krishnamoorthy made sexual remarks about VK Sasikala in a public meeting. He said, “ADMK leaders were saying that they will make Chinnamma (VK Sasikala) as Amma (Jayalalitha). I wondered how they will make her pregnant as Natarajan (Sasikala’s husband) who tried for 35 years could not make it, how ADMK leaders are going to make it possible?”

DMK leader Saidai Saidik said during a public meeting, “There is a person called SP Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration. He looks like an item (Prostitute). The only thing that remains is that he did not travel to Bombay to carry out the operation.”

Punjabi Flashback – The 1980s Are Back!

The worrisome rise of terror activities in Punjab, the resurfacing of the Khalistani movement, the massive manhunt for Amritpal Singh of the “Waris Panjab De” organization (“Heirs of Punjab”), vandalism of Indian embassies abroad, and a deeper look into the roots of the various Pakistani-propelled, promoted and financed Khalistani organizations around the world, have taken up the headline news space of all major Indian and some global media channels.

A clear Pakistani Islamist hand in the design of fanning separatist ambitions based on religion:

Many of these organizations fuelled, sponsored, and trained by Pakistan’s Islamists are militant, paramilitary outfits aimed at misleading and radicalizing Sikh youth in India and around the world. They include a long list of  groups like the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), The Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), The Khalistan Commando Force (KCF), Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan (BTFK), the Khalistan Armed Force a.k.a the Dashmesh Regiment, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), The International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), Khalistan Liberation Front, Khalistan Liberation Organisation (KLO), The All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF), Khalistan National Army (KNA), Shaheed Khalsa Force, Khalistan Guerilla Force, Khalistan Security Force.

While groups of the militant variety are more obvious with their intent and actions, the sinister intent and modus operandi of Khalistani groups disguising themselves as “activists”,  “human rights” or “minority rights” organizations are less apparent, yet more damaging in terms of slowly, subtly and steadily spreading misinformation and creating negative publicity for India. Groups in this latter category include Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and the Organization for Minorities of India (OFMI) among others. US-based organization, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has become the most prominent pro-Khalistan group in the west and reportedly enjoys the support of Pakistan’s ISI. It calls itself a peaceful advocate of Khalistani objectives yet openly associates with convicted Khalistan terrorists and those suspected of being involved in terror plots in India.

The Khalistan movement is a separatist movement, seeking to create a homeland for Sikhs by establishing a sovereign state called Khālistān (lit. ”land of the Khalsa or the Pure”‘) in the Punjab region. The proposed state would consist of the territory which currently encompasses Punjab, India, and Punjab, Pakistan, with Lahore as its capital.

The movement is centered around two principal ideas:

1) a separate land for the Sikh religion, for, by, and of the Sikhs.

2) The ancient, historic land of Punjab comprising the Punjab region in India and the Punjab territories in post-partition Pakistan.

Guru Nanak founded the Sikh faith in the Punjab region of the northern part of the Indian subcontinent including a part of present-day Pakistan, at the end of the 15th century. He was the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. The tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, formalized its practices on 13 April 1699 and initiated Sikhs into courageously fighting for the right causes/ justice, starting with his own brave wars against the tyranny and unjust treatment of Hindus, Sikhs, and other Indic religions by the Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb. Historical theory and analysis suggest that Sikhism came into existence during the early Medieval period of the Bhakti movement and also after repeated invasions by Muslim rulers upon the Hindu community during Mughal rule, which lasted between (1526–1857 A.D) especially in the region of North India. In the undivided Punjab region, the eldest son of every Punjabi Hindu family was nominated and represented as a “Sardar” and vowed to protect his family and Indic communities from the tyrannies of Muslim rulers and their torture.

From Sikhism’s Hindu, Indic roots and values, its tryst with Islamic extremism, its brave stance against the cruelty of Muslim rulers… to the present-day situation of misguided Indian Sikh youth fighting against the Indian state rather than opposing an extremist, Islamic Pakistan….what has gone wrong?

The Khalistan movement peaked in the 1980-the 90s. Their violence included bombings, assassinations, kidnappings, selective killing, and civilian massacres. The movement resulted in nearly 22,000 deaths of Sikhs and Hindus alike, including approximately 12,000 civilians. The violence took on an international dimension in 1985 when Khalistani separatists based in Canada exploded a bomb on an Air India flight en route from Toronto to New Delhi, killing all 329 people on board, including 82 children under the age of 13. The Air India incident remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history.

The roots of the idea of “Khalistan” lie in the British colonial policies of the late 1800s and early 1900s that sought to divide Sikhs and Hindus, Sikhs were recruited into the British army in large numbers to use against Hindu rulers that rebelled against the British Raj. During the fierce debates around India’s Partition for the demand of a separate Muslim nation,  India’s Congress party preferred “secularism” over a Hindu or Dharmic state but neither the promoters of Islamic Pakistan nor secular India considered the opinions of the brave Sikh people, whose ancestral lands (along with the Bengal provinces) were going to be the most impacted by the proposed partition of India, on the unjustified basis of religion.

Why didn’t a “secular” Congress party, its members like Nehru and Gandhi not consult with Sikh leaders, already anxious about losing their lands, homes, heritage, and some of their most revered religious sites? Why did they not listen to the concerns of the Sikhs and Hindus of the Punjab and Bengal regions and negotiate harder with Mohammed Ali Jinnah who did a stellar job of protecting Muslim interests at a huge cost to Hindu, Sikh, and other Indic people?

The ancestral lands of the Punjabi Sikh people were divided between an Islamic Pakistan and a secular India, however, India marked out a distinctly Sikh Punjab state, in the post Independence era which is in contrast to Islamic Pakistan’s Punjab province where both Sikhism and the Punjabi language are subservient to the majoritarian Islamic faith and its Urdu language. Post Independence, Sikh leaders longing for their ancestral Punjab provinces and their lost glory despite several sacrifices for the motherland, were encouraged and financed by Pakistan to focus on trivial grievances in India, while conveniently neglecting gross injustices in Pakistan – petty grievances like, the larger Punjab region in India being trifurcated into the states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh in 1966, along linguistic lines (Punjab as a Punjabi speaking state, and Haryana and Himachal Pradesh as Hindi speaking states), which created suspicion and resentment amongst many Sikhs that Punjab was being further divided after it had already been divided and shared between India and Pakistan in the 1947 Partition of India. Interestingly, it was the latter division of Indian Punjab on linguistic lines that finally allowed for a Sikh-majority state, given the predominantly Hindu populations in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

Although these types of issues often mark normal center-state governmental differences in newly independent countries such as India, they were perceived by many Sikhs as religiously motivated policies of discrimination against them and were exploited by radical leaders, who built a narrative that Sikh interests would only be safe in an independent Sikh country of Khalistan. Such dangerous, victimhood ideas were further propelled by Pakistan’s army and Islamist/ terrorist groups,  harboring an interest in destabilizing India. Feelings and perceptions of injustice, subjugation, and deprivation were further compounded by an “incendiary mix of unprincipled politics and the manipulation of religious identities and institutions” that brought radical, Pakistani trained & financed Sikh forces to the forefront of politics in the state of Punjab.

Whether the Khalistani movement may or may not have organically died out in the late 90s along with the new hopes and dreams of a different generation, is a matter of debate…but it was the Congress party’s / Indira Gandhi’s “Operation Blue Star” fiasco and its aftermath that left the Sikhs further embittered, resulting in a slow rise of various Khalistani movements, yet again…

‘Operation Blue Star’ was authorized by the then Prime Minister and Congress party leader, Indira Gandhi, and executed by the Indian Armed Forces between 1 and 10 June 1984 to capture/eliminate Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, a Sikh leader and his followers from the buildings of the Golden Temple, the holiest site of Sikhism, in Amritsar, Indian Punjab. Officially released casualty figures were stated to be about 1500 people including army personnel, Sikh militants, and civilians. The unofficial figures were rumored to be much higher.

Unfortunately, the violence did not end there. A few months after Operation Blue Star, PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards as avengement for the grave sacrilege committed at Sikhism’s holiest site. The aftermath of the assassination resulted in a bloodbath for the Sikhs of the Delhi region and a few other cities, supposedly orchestrated by Congress party supporters including some of its leaders. The 1984 Sikh riots resulted in the deaths of thousands of Sikhs. Government estimates reported the deaths of 2,800 Sikhs in Delhi and 3,350 nationwide, while independent sources estimate the number of deaths at about 8,000–17,000.

The Congress party’s Operation Blue Star followed by the Delhi anti-Sikh riots further alienated the Sikh community. What’s worse, the “secular” Congress party and its allies did not actively investigate the Sikh riots and ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book. This was a further insult to previous injuries. The Khalistani movement was now here to stay and grow in underground channels with the help of Pakistan’s ISI and Islamist groups!

Over the years, several interviews and de-classified papers have stated that Operation Blue Star was not necessary, certainly not in the manner it was carried out in the temple complex of the most revered spiritual site of the Sikh people, Amritsar’s Golden Temple complex.

Would the Congress and Indira Gandhi have dared to carry out a government special forces Operation within the premises of a Muslim holy site? Would the Muslims have tolerated it? Yet, the “secular” Congress and its allies have not shown the same reverence or hesitation towards Sikh or Hindu holy sites. If anything, Sikh youth should raise their voices, votes, and protests against the type of “secularism” that the “secular” parties of India practice. They will hopefully realize that Hindu organizations like the RSS and Hindu parties like the BJP have always respected the Hindu roots of the Sikh religion, revered its gurus and its customs, admired and appreciated the legendary bravery of Sikh soldiers as well as respected its distinct religious identity. The Sikh struggle should be against “pseudo” secularism of the Indian “secular” and communist parties, not against a Hindu party or the Hindu people that have always respected the origins of the Sikh religion, recognized the inherent courage of the Sikh people and lauded the contributions of the Sikhs towards India,  Hinduism, Indic religions and Indic culture.

4 Times RaGa Landed In Soup For Making Derogatory Remarks

In a development today, the Surat District Court in Gujarat convicted Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case. The case pertains to remarks made by Gandhi during a 2019 election rally in Karnataka’s Kolar district, where he allegedly commented that “all thieves have Modi surname,” referring to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s last name. The court awarded a sentence of two years under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code.

This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has made such defamatory remarks.

“Chowkidar Chor Hai”

In 2019, Rahul Gandhi raised many questions and made several allegations against the Narendra Modi government, especially concerning the Rafale deal.

On 10 April 2019, following the Supreme Court’s decision to allow classified documents to be used as evidence for a review of the Rafale jet deal, Rahul Gandhi made these comments that led to a lawsuit being filed against him by BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi. Rahul Gandhi issued an apology to the Supreme Court for incorrectly attributing his “chowkidar chor hai” (watchman is a thief) comment to the apex court. The court had issued a contempt notice to Rahul Gandhi for the remark. However, Rahul Gandhi clarified that he had made the statement in the heat of political campaigning and that it was not intended to attack the court or its judges. Consequently, he expressed regret and apologised for the same.

RSS Killed Gandhi

During an election rally in Bhiwandi on 6 March 2014, Congress President Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was responsible for Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Subsequently, an RSS member named Rajesh Kunte filed a defamation case against Gandhi for his remarks. The Supreme Court of India asked him to either express regret or face trial for his statement. Later, he expressed regret and apologised to the Supreme Court for his remarks.

On Veer Savarkar

In a press conference in Maharashtra’s Aloka in November 2022, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Savarkar had written a mercy petition to the British stating “I beg to remain, sir, your most obedient servant, VD Savarkar.” A defamation case was registered by Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) functionary.

Now that the court has pulled up Rahul Gandhi for his defamatory remarks against Prime Minister Modi, will he apologise again?

DMK Ignores Its Poll Promise To Allocate ₹1000 Crores For Hindu Temple Renovation, Spends Mere ₹16 Crores In 23 Months

The DMK, headed by MK Stalin, which had pledged before the 2021 elections to spend ₹1000 crores on temple renovations, has spent only a pittance.

The DMK government particularly Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan have come under heat from opposition parties and the general public for presenting a budget that fell short of expectations and not fulfilling the promises made by the DMK in its manifesto.

Some of the major election promises that are yet to be fulfilled, even in the third year of the DMK government, include the reduction of VAT on petrol and diesel, the cancellation of educational loans, the billing of electricity consumption every month, the increase in old age pension scheme, the old pension scheme for government employees, and many others. Despite not fulfilling the above-mentioned poll promises, the DMK government claims to have fulfilled 80% of its election promises.

The data gathered from the Tamil Nadu budget for 2023 shows that the DMK’s election promise to allocate ₹1000 crores for temple renovations must be added to the lengthy list of unfulfilled election promises.

In order to appeal to Hindu voters, the DMK made a number of poll promises in their election manifesto, as the BJP under Dr. L. Murugan intensified its accusations that the DMK is anti-Hindu in the run upto the 2021 state assembly elections especially after the Karuppar Koottam episode.

In one such election promise, the DMK stated that it will spend ₹1000 crores to renovate Hindu temples. However, data from the budget revealed that the DMK government allocated a pittance in comparison to its election promise. Furthermore, the DMK government did not spend even the meager sum appropriated in the 2022 budget.

For the year 2021-22, the DMK government has not allocated any funds to renovate temples. However, though the DMK government allocated ₹56 crores for the renovation of the temple in the year 2022-23, the revised estimates shows that the DMK government has spent only ₹16 crores of the allocated ₹56 crores.

These budget figures indicate that the DMK government has spent far less than the ₹1000 crores promised during the election.

When MK Stalin Made Derogatory Remarks About Jayalalithaa

Following the arrest of 24-year-old Pradeep, one of the admins of the Voice of Savukku Twitter handle, social media is now flooded with memes and troll videos mocking Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan, and their announcement about “eligible beneficiaries” for a monthly assistance scheme for woman head of family.

Netizens shared abusive tweets made by DMK comrades derogating women and wondered if the police department would take action against the DMK cadres.

A social media user named Yuvraj Ramalingam posted a video compiling the instances when Chief Minister MK Stalin in the past made derogatory remarks about former CM J Jayalalitha.

Stalin stated in a public gathering, “Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) wrote in Murasoli that Jayalalitha always thinks about him, both at day and night.” Understanding the intended context (at night Jayalalitha thinks about Kalaignar) of MK Stalin, the audience cheered him. He continued,” You will accuse Karunanidhi for everything? (Addressing JJ in the singular) You frequently visit Kodanadu for rest; is Karunanidhi responsible for it?”

On February 24, 2019, while speaking at a Gram Sabha meeting, then opposition leader MK Stalin said, “Whether Jayalalitha did her work after coming to power is questionable. She was a lady…with glamour… has been running the government”

In another such meeting, MK Stalin said, “When Narendra Modi sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, you (Jayalalitha) went there to greet him. Likewise, when you (JJ) sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Modi came here to greet you.” MK Stalin then used a movie dialogue to describe Modi and Jayalalitha’s relationship, stating that they looked at each other like two male and female (lovers) look at each other through their eyes. He continued, “Therefore I claim that both ADMK and BJP have secret affair (Alliance)… That too an illegal affair.”

Speaking in front on women MK Stalin said, “If I continue to stand here, I feel like seeing the faces of women here. I want to be honest with you. I feel like standing here for more time and keep stalking at all your faces. He has hit two mangoes with one stone. Don’t think of anything else when I say mango.”

During the 2016 election campaign, MK Stalin made sexual innuendos about then-CM Jayalalithaa and the ADMK candidates, claiming that “Their campaign stages will have multiple levels at different heights. Jayalalitha used to sit on the top level of the stage while the candidates were seated below her in the bottom level…Jayalalitha on top and the candidates below…(Stalin laughs)..I am just saying… nothing else.”

Youth Hacked To Death In Broad Daylight In Krishnagiri

In a shocking development, a newly-married youth was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district. The victim, identified as C Jegan, was hacked to death Tuesday, 21st March 2023, by his father-in-law Sankar and two others, allegedly for marrying his daughter Saranya against their wishes. The victim’s marriage to Saranya had taken place just a month ago.

The incident took place at around 1.30 pm on the busy National Highway in Kittampatti, sending shockwaves across the state. Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi Palanisami took to Twitter to criticise the incident. They questioned the role played by the state government and said that instead of taking the path of development, the state is heading towards violence, and questioned whether this was the ‘Vidiyal’ they promised.

It must be noted that there has been a rise in lawlessness in Tamil Nadu after the DMK government took over. The state has witnessed a spate of violent incidents, including murders, kidnappings, and robberies since 2021.

Some of the recent incidents involving DMK functionaries include the murder of Army Jawan Prabhu in Krishnagiri district, the stoning of a man to death in Tiruvallur, or the land grabbing complaints by people of the state against DMK functionaries themselves.

A prominent law and order issue that the Tamil Nadu government failed to address was the Coimbatore bomb blast which they dismissed as a “cylinder blast”. It was later revealed to have terrorist involvement when the IS in Khorasan Province claimed responsibility for it.

The opposition parties have accused the ruling DMK of failing to maintain law and order in the state and have demanded that the government take immediate steps to address the issue and ensure the safety of the people.
