Tiruppur Medical College Allegedly Bans Religious Idols/Pics For Ayudha Pooja, Sparks Political Backlash, Denies Having Sent Circular

Controversy flared in Tamil Nadu following a circular issued by the Dean of Tiruppur Government College Hospital regarding the celebration of Ayudha Puja in the college premises. The circular has sparked a debate surrounding the use of images of deities and idols during the festival.

According to reports, the hospital’s Dean, Murugesan, sent a circular on 12 October 2023 to the Superintendent, Medical Officer, Administrative Officer, and Nurses of the Tiruppur Government Medical College Hospital. In this circular, it was explicitly mentioned that, as per the instructions of the Collector, Ayudha Puja and Saraswati Puja celebrations should not involve the use of any images or idols of deities. It stated, “On the days of Ayudha Pooja and Saraswati Puja, no objects resembling idols or photos of deities from any religion should be displayed. If such items are present, they should be removed with future concerns in mind. This circular is issued as per the guidance of the District Collector.”

The directive went on to state that any pictures and idols of deities present in offices and hospital wards should be promptly removed to prevent any potential issues. Nursing supervisors were tasked with ensuring that no pictures or idols of deities were present in any section of the hospital.

This announcement has caused quite a stir, with some individuals expressing concerns that it may be perceived as an affront to Hindu religious practices. Critics have accused the government of undermining the trust of doctors, patients, and the public by allegedly engaging in activities that could alienate religious minorities.

Narayanan Tirupathi, Vice President of the Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressed his dismay, stating that Ayudha Puja should involve the celebration of Hindu gods and there should not be any restriction on religious symbols. He emphasised that a secular government should embrace all religions and that any attempt to suppress a particular religion could be seen as endorsing a religious agenda.

The controversy took an intriguing twist when it was revealed that the circular, issued by the Dean, was initially verified as authentic. However, following strong condemnations, criticisms, and protests on social media, the hospital administration reportedly backtracked and sent a denial message with the Dean’s signature, labelling the news as fake. Despite these developments, it is evident that this issue has sparked a public debate.

Pranav Jewellers Endorsed By Actor Prakash Raj Accused Of Massive ₹100 Crore Scam As The Store Shuts Shop and Vanishes

Pranav Jewellers, a well-known jewellery chain based in Tiruchy, Tamil Nadu, stands accused of orchestrating a massive financial scam, leaving thousands of investors in despair. The company, which had branches across several cities in the state, including Chennai, Erode, Nagercoil, Madurai, Kumbakonam, and Puducherry, had successfully collected a staggering sum of ₹100 crore from the public under the guise of a gold investment scheme.

Pranav Jewellers had enticed investors with the promise of high returns and special incentives for those who invested ₹5 lakh or more. Lured by these lucrative offers, numerous individuals entrusted their hard-earned money, with investment amounts ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹1 crore.

The alarm bells began to ring approximately two months ago when the jewelry chain failed to deliver on its promise to pay the interest due on the investments. Concerned investors, who had eagerly awaited their returns, approached the management in the hope of resolving the matter. At that time, the company management reportedly assured them that the outstanding amounts would be disbursed within a week.

However, the situation took a dramatic turn on Tuesday, 17 October 2023, when investors arrived at Pranav Jewellers’ stores, only to discover that the outlets in Tiruchy and other cities were inexplicably closed. To compound their distress, the owners of the establishment were nowhere to be found, and efforts to reach them by phone proved futile.

News of the sudden closure quickly spread like wildfire, prompting a surge of aggrieved investors who had placed their trust in the jewelry chain. Their collective frustration culminated in a protest. In response to the mounting turmoil, the Fort police swiftly intervened and engaged in discussions with the disgruntled investors.

Individual complaints were subsequently filed with the authorities, and a formal investigation has been launched to probe the intricate details of the case. The affected investors are now anxiously awaiting answers, hoping for a resolution to their financial woes.

Prakash Raj’s Telling Silence

It’s important to note that actor Prakash Raj was associated with Pranav Jewellers as its brand ambassador for a significant duration. However, his silence in the face of these allegations has raised concerns. While the actor is known to mock the Modi government over any matter – be it the Chandrayaan-3 launch or the flagging off of Vande Bharat trains by the Prime Minister where he addressed Modi as “station master” or comparing the PM with Hitler, he has not tweeted anything about this issue. His last tweet was on 13 October 2023 mocking PM Modi for the hunger index rankings.

He has however “liked” posts on X that speak against the ruling BJP in the past few days.

Netizens have questioned Prakash Raj for his silence, some with his trademark hashtag #justasking and some asking for him to be sued by the victims.

Prakash Raj Accused Of Illegal Encroachment

Prakash Raj was earlier in the news for alleged illegal construction of his bungalow in the hill station of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. Villagers near Kodaikanal have complained that Prakash Raj is illegally constructing luxury bungalows in violation of government norms and encroaching on government lands in villages around Kodaikanal. There is an allegation that Prakash Raj built a road for his private bungalow by encroaching on the common dirt road used by the villagers there. Villagers have complained that he encroached on forest department’s land and constructed his own road in the Pethuparai area.

What Happened At Gaza’s Al-Ahli Al-Arabi Hospital? Airstrike By IDF Or Misfire By Hamas? Here’s The Proof

The explosion/bombing of the Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital in Gaza must be studied carefully as the entire region sits on a powder keg with Hamas trying to win the perception politics with more bloodshed and psyops.

It must be noted that the attack came against the backdrop of US President Joe Biden’s visit, perhaps in person tell Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to show some restraint as public opinion has begun to sway away from Israel as pressure mounts on Arab nations.

It is impossible to not draw a parallel between Biden’s visit to Israel and President Donald Trump’s visit to India because there was an attempt made to steal the limelight away and discredit the visit with the unfolding of the Delhi Riots in 2020.

In Israel, a clearer picture is emerging after the dust of rhetoric has settled.

After the alleged attack on Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital in Gaza, in which approximately 500 people were reportedly killed, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have vehemently denied that the incident was the result of an Israeli airstrike. According to IDF officials, they assert that it was a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) that struck the hospital grounds in Gaza and caused civilian casualties.

However, the most difficult task right now is the dissemination of correct information as the war of words and the narrative building has created a smoke screen around what had really transpired.

The same could be said when the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack had taken place. Within a very short period of time, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was blamed for the terror to deflect the blame from Pakistan and the same is being done to blame Israel for this unfortunate incident.

Already, several Hamas supporters in the Arab world and in the Western media have squarely blamed Israel for this incident. The fact is a genuine effort is being made to undermine the murderous attack that Hamas had carried out one week back and focus on the Israeli response. Already, Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and her fellow socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have started an “incredibly high” level of “misinformation in all directions”.

Getting A Clearer Picture: Tal Hagin’s Thread

Numerous videos, primarily shared by Israeli activists, were accused of featuring a misfired rocket as the cause of the incident. However, it’s important to note that these videos were from 2021/22 and unrelated to the recent event.

On the other hand, many Palestinian activists and organizations have claimed, without any uncertainty, that Israel was responsible for the airstrike. Their assertion is primarily based on reports from the Ministry of Health, which is governed by Hamas. It’s worth considering that the Ministry of Health may have its own interests that could influence the accuracy of their claims.

Several open source intelligence accounts have revealed that Hamas was aware that the rocket launched by PIJ at approximately 6:59 PM local time on 17 October 2023 had misfired, and this misfire coincided with the initial reports of an attack on Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital in Gaza. But Palestinian activists and leaders immediately started to cling to whatever narrative suits their interests regardless of who is actually responsible.

There have been several instances when Hamas fired its unreliable misguided rockets which are made of material and technology that give quantity but not quality and have proved to be disastrous for the people of Gaza. But fake news has the ability to travel fast in a region where there is a serious trust deficit. The people of Gaza have no choice but to trust what Hamas says and in this case, Palestinian activists and organizations stated that that Israel was responsible for the airstrike.

But how can one trust Hamas which has a history of using civilians as human shields?

Hence, it is important to look at the evidence without passion or prejudice. The X thread of Tal Hagin, who is an investigative analyst with a focus on the Israeli & Palestinian conflict has given some compelling evidence. Here are some of the excerpts from his X handle @talhagin.

  1. At 19:00 the military wing of Hamas took responsibility for the rockets fired at southern Israel. It’s important to note that both Hamas and the PIJ have very extensive arsenals of rockets.
  2. At 19:10 Al Resalah, a television channel reported that “The occupation targets Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital in central Gaza City, causing a large number of injuries” (This was posted at the same time the PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad) took responsibility for a rocket barrage).
  3. IDF shelling of targets in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood was reported at 18:58 4. IDF airstrikes were reported in northern Gaza at 19:12 (No IDF strikes were reported between 18:58 and 19:12).

Tal Hagin notest that the first images from the hospital appear at 19:25 and that the first video of the strike appears at 19:41.

Based on his analysis of a live stream published by Al Jazeera, he notes that the scene is set at 18:59, just before Hamas claimed responsibility for the launch. He points out a single rocket ascending into the sky. Given the rocket’s fuel duration and the subsequent explosion, Tal Hagin says that it’s likely that it was an R-160.

We can see from the video that the rocket appears to malfunction or explode at 0:10, with another explosion occurring at 0:15.

Based solely on this video, there is a significant probability that this rocket experienced a misfire, resulting in a partial destruction of its payload, ultimately leading to a powerful explosion. However, it’s important to address the question of whether this video captures the explosion at the hospital.

Tal Hagin was able to triangulate the location of the explosion based on the analysis of OSINT done by Abu Ali English (@AbuAliEnglishB1) and GeoConfirmed. Solar panels located near the site helped in identifying/confirm the site of the explosion.

Tal Hagin has also analyzed images and footages from the site of the explosion.

He notes that a photograph of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, published by the Gaza-based news agency “Shahab,” does not depict any “significant” damage to the hospital, let alone it being “completely destroyed.”

In the image, there is no conspicuous crater that one would typically associate with an IDF airstrike. Instead, it suggests that the cars at the scene exploded, especially those in the vicinity.

Furthermore, upon analyzing a graphic video of the casualties, he was able to pinpoint the location (highlighted in yellow). This open area, crowded with people, appears to have been directly hit by shrapnel from the rocket and the exploding vehicles, resulting in gruesome and horrific injuries.

A video shared by @AbuAliEnglishB1 shows bread and piles of supplies, which indicate a substantial gathering of people during the explosion, notes Tal Hagin.

After reviewing the footages of the missile launch, graphic images provided by Palestinian channels of dead bodies and information ascertained from Open Source Intelligence OSINT, he confirms that the misfired projectile landed in the courtyard of the hospital where hundreds of innocent fleeing Gazan refugees had gathered resulting in massive causality.

Tal Hagin concludes that a misfired rocket by Hamas/PIJ was responsible for the explosion at the hospital.

Information Disclosed By IDF

The IDF officials also disclosed that they had intercepted a phone call that indicated Hamas knew immediately that the hospital had been hit by a PIJ rocket launched from within Gaza. However, despite this knowledge, Hamas opted to initiate a media campaign blaming Israel for the incident. This was a misfired rocket by Hamas which is known to use collateral damage that it had inflicted on its own people as a point to take advantage.

Addressing a press briefing, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said, “According to our intelligence, Hamas checked the reports, understood it was an Islamic Jihad rocket that had misfired, and then decided to launch a global media campaign to hide what really happened.”

During the press briefing, the IDF spokesperson also presented aerial photographs as evidence that the damage to adjacent structures resulted from a misfire of a rocket by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and not from an IDF airstrike. The spokesperson emphasized, “Our analysis of the aerial footage confirms that there was no direct impact on the hospital itself; the only damage occurred outside the hospital, in the parking area.

In the same press conference, the IDF official exhibited images of the hospital’s burnt parking lot. Regarding the damage in the parking lot, Hagari explained that it was caused by the rocket’s impact and the significant amount of rocket fuel that remained in the projectile as it fell short.

He pointed out that if it had been an Israeli airstrike, “we would have observed craters and structural damage to the building, neither of which were evident in this incident.

The IDF official also displayed images of Israeli airstrikes, showing substantial craters with meter-wide diameters, whereas, in the hospital attack in Gaza, there were no apparent signs of crater formation or significant structural damage to the buildings.

It’s worth emphasizing that Israel has deployed the Iron Dome defense system to intercept the Hamas rocket attacks, particularly those that lack precision and are aimed at residential areas. Due to the significant cost difference between the Iron Dome interceptors and unguided Hamas rockets, the system is often used to counter only the most threatening projectiles, allowing many of the unguided rockets to fall in uninhabited areas rather than engaging them mid-flight. It’s important to note that in the past, misfired rockets by Hamas have tragically landed within their own territory, causing civilian casualties.

Significantly, since the commencement of the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been releasing video footage of precise airstrikes. In many instances, the IDF has issued warnings to Gaza residents, advising them to evacuate buildings and structures that were slated for airstrikes just minutes before the attacks. After analyzing aerial footage from both before and after the attack, especially in daylight conditions, numerous experts have suggested that the hospital parking lot damage was most likely the result of a misfired rocket originating from within Gaza.

Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that even nearby clay tiles and scaffolding remained undamaged, a scenario that would be highly improbable in the case of an aerial strike, as many observers have pointed out. Also, photos that are available online clearly suggest that the missile projectile fell into an open courtyard filled with Palestinian refugees causing grave injuries and the hospital itself was not directly hit and only suffered cosmetic damage.

As of now, Hamas is most probably responsible for this tragedy but the truth has now taken a backseat and politics have taken over and the blame game has started over the dead bodies of the innocent.

Hindu Munnani Member Arrested For Alleged “Defamatory Remarks” Against DMK MP A Raja Who Had Called Sanatana Dharma As Leprosy And AIDS

On Vinayakar Chathurthi in September 2023, a public meeting was convened by the Hindu Munnani in Puliyampatti, Erode district. During this gathering, allegations surfaced that one of the organisation’s State Secretary, Senthil Kumar, had allegedly made derogatory statements about the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its member, DMK MP A Raja. Following these remarks, DMK members filed a formal police complaint.

Approximately one month after the Vinayakar Chathurthi celebrations, Senthil Kumar was arrested by the Puliyampatti police while traveling in a car in Ammapalayam, Tirupur District. This arrest prompted a reaction from Hindu Munnani officials, who blocked the police vehicle and initiated a protest. The situation escalated when Senthil Kumar was taken to the Thirumurugan Pondi police station, where a significant gathering of Hindu Munnani members led to a commotion.

During the commotion, the Hindu Munnani members argued for Senthil Kumar’s release, ultimately resulting in negotiations with the police. Subsequently, Senthil Kumar was transferred to the Puliyampatti police station.

In response to these events, the Hindu Munnani expressed their concerns, stating that the police were disproportionately targeting and taking action against Hindus while ignoring people criticising the Hindu community. They also said that they would protest against it.

BJP Leader SG Suryah Condemns Arrest

Responding to the arrest made, Secretary of State – Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party, Dr. SG Suryah released a condemnation note stating,

“The police in the DMK government have arrested the state secretary of the Hindu Munnani, Mr. Senthilkumar, following the unjustified arrest of Vellore divisional in-charge Mr. Mahesh and Salem divisional in-charge Mr. Santhosh.”

After several rounds of protests, the police finally arrested the DMK officials who misbehaved with the female policeman at the DMK Virugambakkam conference, after failing to do so in the first place. Currently, the law and order system of Tamil Nadu ruled by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin is in such a state that the criminals are able to freely enter the police station and threaten the female police officer from testifying. In this case, Hindu Munnani State Secretary Mr. Senthilkumar has been arrested for allegedly slandering A. Raja, the anti-Hindu DMK MP and 2G scam celebrity.”, Dr. SG Suryah said.

The BJP leader further added “The police did not arrest Udhayanidhi Stalin, who not only said that he would eradicate Sanathana Dharma but also compared it to dengue and malaria, nor did they arrest A.Raja, who had compared Sanathana Dharma to HIV-AIDS, has become the official department of the ruling party. It is a shame to arrest the executives of organisations like the BJP and the Hindu Munnani and serve the ruling party.”

Times will change, and so will the scenes, and then the wrongdoers will have to answer. I strongly condemn baseless and politically motivated arrests.“, he said.

DMK Reappoints Functionary Who Was Booked Under SC/ST Act; Hindu Munnani Questions VCK’s Silence

DMK union secretary Manickam, who was previously removed from his post for allegedly defaming a Scheduled Caste youth visiting Periya Mariamman temple, has once again assumed charge.

DMK’s Salem East district south union secretary, D Manickam, was arrested under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. This arrest follows his abuse of a 23-year-old youth who had entered the sanctum of Mariamman temple during a festival on the night of 26 January 2023 in Thirumalaigiri.

The incident occurred when a section of people opposed the youth’s entry into the temple, prompting Manickam to publicly interrogate and abuse him on 27 January 2023. Shockingly, the incident was recorded by someone in the crowd and quickly circulated on social media. The video captured Manickam using derogatory language towards the SC youth for his temple entry, which was under the administration of HR&CE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments).

In the above video, the DMK leader can be heard threatening “Hey! Look at me and tell. Will smash you. You don’t like the people of this village being well? Who asked you to go inside man? Tell man! (inaudible).. Were you sucking (uses equivalent cuss word in Tamil) last night? Who asked you to go? You won’t be able to stay in this village, mind you!

For the sake of everyone’s welfare and the welfare of the village, I am sitting here without sleeping every dawn for the last fifteen days, puluthi p*nda (cuss word in Tamil) , you will talk about justice p*nda (cuss word in Tamil denoting female genitalia) is it?”, the DMK leader says.

Hey you p*nda mavane! Will just whack you! K**dhi! (another cuss word denoting female genitalia) !…. Aren’t the people here men? You think you are better than the men here?”, the DMK leader goes on to intimidate the youth.

Abusing the person next to the youth, the DMK leader says “Who are you p*nda? Will whack you! Mind your work. You will die without food and water. You can’t go anywhere!”.

“K**dhi mavane (cuss word in Tamil), I have been asking you all to work, you are doing these kind of underground jobs p*nda is it?”, the DMK man yell.

DMK treasurer Durai Murugan took action by suspending Manickam from the party, underlining the party’s stance against such behavior. Following this disciplinary action within the party, the police registered a case under the SC/ST Act against Manickam, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Now the reinstatement has raised eyebrows, prompting inquiries from various quarters. Hindu Munnani, has questioned the DMK’s claims of commitment to equality and social justice.

Notably, Thirumavalavan, the leader of VCK, has maintained a conspicuous silence absence of  any visible protest against the reinstatement.

R&AW Warns Of Chinese Agents Disguising As Nepalis Entering India For Economic Warfare And Covert Operations

India’s Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW), the external intelligence agency, has raised alarms regarding Chinese activities in the country. R&AW has alerted domestic security agencies to closely watch Nepali individuals arriving in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur.

According to details provided by R&AW (Research and Analysis Wing), these highly proficient Chinese operatives have acquired significant expertise in both Hindi and English. They work clandestinely, adopting Nepali identities, and are deeply involved in operations related to economic warfare.

This information was further substantiated during a security review meeting held by the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The minutes of this meeting, which contained specifics about Chinese operations, is said to have been obtained by Free Press Journal.

Chinese Agents Entering India Disguising As Nepalis

This directive follows specific intelligence received from R&AW sources in China, which suggests that Chinese agents have developed new covert methods to enter India without detection. These agents are discreetly assuming new identities by acquiring Nepali passports with the help of private agencies and local Nepalese passport offices.

Armed with these covert personas, they travel from Nepal to India using Nepali passports since there is no check at the border. Upon reaching cities like Mumbai or Pune, they often choose to settle in Pune and blend into local communities, including participating in ashrams. It is from these locations that they initiate their clandestine activities in India.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a high-ranking official from the agency noted that the Chinese intelligence agency operates differently compared to organizations like ISI, CIA, or other global security agencies.

The Chinese intelligence service enjoys the advantage of using local communist-leftest-liberal ideologues and journalists, particularly those with a Marxist/Maoist ideology, for their operations in India to gather all kinds of intelligence. Chinese agents residing in India appear to primarily target soft civilian targets, such as scientists, policy analysts, personnel from defense and space research and development institutions, journalists, and think tanks.

Economic Warfare and Espionage

Furthermore, these agents, using ashrams as their cover, engage in economic warfare by infiltrating the Indian market through numerous small-scale industries. They manufacture substandard products at low costs with the intention of gaining a foothold in the Indian economy. Their strategy involves influencing think tanks and policymakers to integrate the Chinese market into the Indian economy. Additionally, these agents are involved in social media campaigns, collaborating with skilled individuals to counter government policies in recent years.

Tax Evasion Through Shell Companies

Chinese agents also pose an economic threat by establishing shell companies, appointing Indian directors, and conducting cash transactions to evade taxes, resulting in significant revenue losses for India. The profits generated are repatriated to Chinese companies. These companies are challenging to trace, as they leave minimal traces behind.

The current objectives of the Chinese intelligence service in India revolve around gathering intelligence related to nuclear weaponization, deployment, Command, Control, and Communication (C3I) systems. They also focus on missile developments, deployments, and capabilities.

This sophisticated intelligence agency emphasizes that their prolonged presence in India is a deliberate tactic. Their linguistic expertise and the cover of Nepali identity make it extremely difficult to discern their actual backgrounds, whether they are Chinese, Nepali, or individuals from the northeastern regions, as they share physical characteristics resembling the Mongolian ethnicity.

Rename Chennaimalai To Yesumalai Incident: Archbishop Of Anglican Church Of South India & North India Missionary Diocese Apologises For Christian Munnani’s Actions

On 13 October 2023, a massive protest was held in Chennimalai, organised by Hindu Munnani and other Hindu organisations. This protest was in response to provocative speeches and attempts made by Christian missionaries, calling for the renaming of Chennimalai to “Yesu Malai” or “Kalvaari Malai.” Thousands of Hindus participated in the protest, proudly waving saffron flags, creating a strong demonstration of their sentiments.

The dispute initially arose during a Christian ‘jebakootam’ prayer meeting held in a residential area in Kathakodikkad, leading to confrontations and subsequent legal proceedings against Hindu Munnani members. The situation further escalated when Christian leaders announced their intentions to transform the revered Chennimalai Murugan Temple hill into a Christian site.

This revelation deeply disturbed the Hindu community, leading to a massive protest against the proposed name changes.

Following this protest, surprisingly the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of South India & North India Missionary Diocese, Gunasekaran Samuel shared a video apologising on behalf of the Christians to Hindus for praying on the Chennimalai Hill.

He said, “Regarding the issue of Chennimalai, I have been watching all the channels. This has caused me a lot of sadness. Especially, dear Christian friends, it was a very wrong thing to go to Chennimalai and pray. They should not have done that. That is the truth. It was a very wrong thing for Christian friends to go to Chennimalai and pray. I sincerely condemn that. That is, it is not mentioned in the Bible that you have to go to the place where others are praying and pray to Jesus. I believe that this was done wantonly. So, this government must take action against such people. This Tamil Nadu government must take action against such people. If the Tamil Nadu government does not take action, it only means that they are hand in glove with them. There is no doubt that the entire Christian community will get the wrong name because of such a thing. So, please understand this. Especially, they say that they are Christian Munnani. That Christian Munnani is a new thing, even our Christians do not know about it. We do not know what it is. That is the truth. Some people say that it is a Christian Munnani and they kept a name for themselves.”

He further said So, I strongly condemn the hurt caused to members and followers of other religions. The Tamil Nadu government must condemn and also take action against those who are in that Christian Munnani. Their behaviour and actions are affecting the entire Christian community. These people from the Christian Munnani are unnecessarily bringing reasons for communal unrest. I know that someone is helping them from behind. So, I would like to apologise to all my dear brothers and sisters who belong to the Hindu religion. I apologise on behalf of the Christians for this incident that took place using the name of Christians. Please forgive me. We do not need any hatred among us. The government has to take action against those who are unnecessarily trying to create communal unrest in Tamil Nadu, disturb the peace between us, and try to blame the BJP government for it. People from the Hindu Munnani, please forgive us. I apologise on behalf of all the Christians. Please forgive. We would like to accept you as our brothers and sisters. We were all born on the same soil. So let there be no differences between us. I ask again for forgiveness. I will be happy if you tell me that you have forgiven us. What they did was wrong and I strongly condemn it. Yours truly, Archbishop Gunasekaran Samuel.”

Mahua Moitra “Cash For Question Scam”: A Few Of The Questions In Question

In a stunning revelation, BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey levelled serious allegations against Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra saying she took cash and gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask specific questions in the Parliament.

Based on a letter written to him by one advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, Nishikant Dubey revealed that 50 out of 61 questions raised by TMC MP Mahua Moitra were allegedly aimed to protect and promote one company, focused on Hiranandani’s rival business conglomerates like the Adani Group.

Here are some of the questions that the TMC MP allegedly asked on behalf of the Hiranandani Group.

The first question asked by Mahua Moitra in Parliament was in July 2019 regarding Paradip Port which had targeted the MoU between Adani, GAIL, and IOC-H-Energy. It was alleged that a Hiranandani group company was an interested party as it won a bid for the Paradip natural gas pipeline. [PDF of the question]

In her inquiry directed to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Moitra requested clarification on the events surrounding the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) initially entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Paradip Port Trust for a gas terminal, a project that was ultimately abandoned in 2015. Additionally, she inquired about the details of GAIL and the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) teaming up with a private entity to secure shares in Dhamra Port, which incurred considerably higher costs compared to the Paradip Port initiative.

The ministry communicated to GAIL that they had conducted a feasibility study back in 2012 with the aim of establishing an FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) project on the eastern coast of India. During this study, two potential locations near Dhamra Port and Paradip Port were identified as suitable options. In 2013, an MoU was formally executed with Paradip Port Trust. However, by 2015, it was determined that having two competing LNG terminals in such close proximity would not be financially viable. In 2016, a non-binding MoU was inked involving Adani Petroleum Terminal, Dhamra LNG Terminal, IOCL, and GAIL. It’s important to note that this MoU lapsed in 2018 and did not require any capital expenditure from GAIL and IOCL.

In November 2019, the firebrand MP of TMC asked a question about the service quality of telecom service providers. What must be taken into note is that a Hiranandani company named Yotta hired a Jio executive a day after the question was raised. [PDF of the question]

In her inquiry, she requested the ministry to furnish statistics related to the quality of services provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) in India. Specifically, she sought this data for the preceding three years, categorized by state, Union Territory (UT), and TSP. She also inquired about historical records concerning call drop rates and the proportion of calls with satisfactory voice quality, categorized by both TSP and location.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has been overseeing telecom service providers by enforcing Quality of Service regulations. They now evaluate the performance of Cellular Mobile Services collectively for a given License Service Area. The ministry has supplied comprehensive statistical information for the past three years.

Again in November 2019, during the winter session, Moitra asked a question regarding the handling capacity of Kolkata Port Trust. At the same time, the Hiranadani group had entered into a MoU with KPT, and therefore, it was an interested party in the matter. [PDF of the question]

She submitted a request to the Ministry of Shipping for a breakdown of the cargo volume and revenue generated by Kolkata Port Trust (KPT), categorized according to the type of cargo. Additionally, she inquired about the strategies that KPT had already implemented or planned to promote the development of the port along the Hooghly waterfront.

In response, the ministry provided information on the revenue and clarified that the conservancy jurisdiction of the Kolkata Port Trust extends up to 45.7 meters from the high-water mark during Spring Tide, although not all of this area is under the ownership of the port trust. The port trust has also established facilities in Haldia, Salukkhali, and Howrah, and it encourages private entities to utilize their riverfront land for shipbreaking activities in Kulpi.

Other questions Moitra asked allegedly Hiranandani Group are…

December 2019, she asked the Ministry of Home Affairs about the check posts alongside the India-Bangladesh border. Hiranandani Group has a significant investment in Bangladesh, making the group an alleged beneficiary in the query. [PDF of the question]

In December 2019, she raised a question regarding the agreement between a private entity, Paradip Port, and GAIL. She questioned if the CVC guidelines were followed for the tendering process and the allegations were repeated in the infamous Hindenburg report. Furthermore, the Hirandani Group has been trying to connect ports on the east coast with Bangladesh. The presence of Adani Group, the private entity, in the area hinders Hiranandani’s plans. [PDF of the question]

In March 2020, Moitra asked another question regarding Kolkata Port Trust while Hiranandani Group has an agreement with the KPT. [PDF of the question]

In February 2021, Moitra asked a question about the progress and 5G readiness in the country. Again, Hiranandani Group’s company Yotta had applied for a Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite license, making it an alleged direct beneficiary of the question. [PDF of the question]

In February 2021, the former Goldman Sachs employee asked a question wherein she asked the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change about the proposed energy codes that directly impacted the construction business of the Hiranandani Group. [PDF of the question]

In July 2021, she again asked the Ministry of Finance about the Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) holding stakes in Adani Group companies. That led to the SEBI investigation against the Adani Group and it has been alleged that the questions were asked at the behest of the Hiranandani Group. [PDF of the question]

In July 2021, again Moitra asked a question asking the Minister of New and Renewable Energy about the tenders of the Solar Energy Corporation. Again the question was aimed to benefit Hiranandani Group’s company, Yotta, to power data centers through renewable energy in 2020. [PDF of the question]

In July 2021, Moitra asked the Ministry of Steel about the steps taken by the government to control the prices of steel in the country. This time it has been alleged that it was for the benefit of the Hiranandani Group’s real estate business which wanted a lower steel price. [PDF of the question]

In August 2021, a question was asked by the TMC MP to the Ministry of External Affairs for information on IOC, GAIL, and H-Energy gas pipelines from West Bengal to Bangladesh. Again the Hiranandani Group conglomerate, H-Energy, was an interested party in the pipeline. [PDF of the question]

In August 2021, Moitra asked the Ministry of Civil Aviation about allocating airports to the Adani Group. Again the Hiranandani Group was also interested in airports. [PDF of the question]

As a member of Parliament, Mahua Moitra enjoys a lot of power and has the right to ask questions to the government which is important for a good democracy. However, it has now been alleged that she used her position as an MP to undermine the Adani Group in favor of the Hiranandani Group and in return she received many inducements.

Like Grandfather, Like Grandson: The Duplicity Of Karunanidhi & Udhayanidhi On Their Hindus And Hinduism Remarks

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was in the news for the past few weeks for his “eradicating Sanathana Dharma” remarks at a conference organised by a Dravidianist group in Chennai. He equated Sanathana Dharma to corona, dengue, malaria and said that just like how these diseases cannot be merely opposed but eradicated, Sanatana Dharma too should be eradicated.

Following the massive backlash, MK Stalin himself had asked his party leaders to refrain from making anymore statements on Sanatana Dharma. However, Udhayanidhi Stalin did not to heed his father’s advice. He had reiterated that the party (DMK) was formed with the goal of eradicating Sanathana Dharma and will continue to work towards achieving it.

He also asserted that whether the government lost power or whether he lost his minister post or his MLA post, he would have it eradicated and that DMK’s goal was to eradicate Sanathana Dharma.

A quo warranto petition was filed against him, DMK Minister Sekar Babu and DMK leader A. Raja asking on what basis they continued to be in office after hurting the sentiments of a particular community by calling for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism). In a hearing this week, Udhayanidhi Stalin did a U-turn and said, he made those comments on a personal capacity and not as a minister.

In an affidavit submitted to the Madras High Court court, the DMK scion said that he made the remarks in “personal capacity” and not as a Minister.

Calling out the duplicity of Udhayanidhi Stalin, Secretary of State, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a TV debate, SG Suryah recalled the U-turn done by Udhayanidhi’s grandfather, Karunanidhi too.

To refresh our memory, during his tenure as the leader of the DMK, Karunanidhi made several controversial statements regarding Hindus and Hinduism. One such remark in 2002, Karunanidhi referred to Hindus as ‘thieves’.

At that time, the late AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa was the Chief Minister and had passed the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Forcible Conversion of Religion Act 2002.

On 24 October 2002, Karunanidhi, the then Opposition leader attended a meeting held at the Andrew’s Church in Egmore, Chennai against the ban on forced religious conversion. It was during this meeting that Karunanidhi called Hindus as thieves.

When a case was filed against him, his counter affidavit argued that the allegations were an “afterthought” and driven by political opponents, as the petitioner had initially filed the complaint in 2002 but only approached the High Court in 2005. One lawyer named R. Premnath filed a case against Karunanidhi in Egmore 14th Magistrate Court. Permission to prosecute him was also obtained from the Tamil Nadu government. The case was filed on 14 November 2003 in the XIV Municipal Magistrate Court. The case was subsequently adjourned for the hearing of witnesses.

At that time, Karunanidhi argued that all he said was that even those who supported the Hindu religion interpret the word Hindu as thief. “Maybe it means someone who steals the heart.”, he had said during the controversy.

The case was adjourned several times whenever it came up for trial. When the DMK government took office in 2006, an order was issued on 27 May 2006 to withdraw the case. After that, an appeal was filed in the Magistrate’s Court and the case was quietly dismissed.

It was later revealed that Karunanidhi was acquitted from the case and the judgment was given on 17 August 2006. The petitioner was not given an opportunity to appear and argue and no proper reason was given for the same.

Balasubramanian, identifying himself as Mr. Premnath’s legal representative, discovered on 21 May 21, 2007, that the case had been withdrawn on 17 August 2006, based on a memorandum filed by the Assistant Public Prosecutor without affording the complainant or his counsel an opportunity for a hearing.

Subsequently Balasubramanian subsequently filed a petition with the High Court, contending that the case had been withdrawn without notifying the complainant.

He emphasized that no justification had been provided for the withdrawal of the charges against Karunanidhi and requested the reinstatement of the case.

But this time too, the petitioners couldn’t appear for hearing as they were not notified. The High Court dismissed the petition on 2 October 2009, saying that the counsel did not appear. Balasubramanian, seeking to revive the petition, attempted to submit a miscellaneous petition to request a 25-day delay exemption, but the court declined the request.

Years later in 2013 when a petition was filed to direct the police to investigate the FIR on the controversial speech, Karunanidhi clarified in his counter affidavit saying that that he did not speak ill of any religious faith. In the speech in question, he mentioned that the word “Hindu” had been defined as a thief by a supporter of the religion itself.

However, he explained that he interpreted it not as an ordinary thief but as someone who “stole” the hearts of the people. He alleged that the complainant had linked it to a “truncated version” of the speech in certain newspapers, omitting the full context.

Critics question the value of grandstanding in speeches by both the grandfather and grandson, as they tend to adopt a diametrically opposite approach in legal proceedings.

While the Tamil Nadu police is busy going after critics of the DMK and its allies, there has been rising instances of lawlessness across the state.

Recently, in Chennai, the regional secretary of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) was brutally hacked with sharp weapons by associates of the Chennai district secretary of the same Periyarist organization. A disturbing video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The victim, Kummu, also known as Kumaresan, aged 33 and hailing from Royapettah, Chennai, is the younger brother of Ganesh, the regional secretary of TPDK in Royapettah. ‘Tinker’ Kumaran, alias Kumaran, aged 45, resides in the same area, and his father holds the position of Chennai District Secretary in the TPDK. Notably, ‘Tinker’ Kumaran has a history of involvement in various criminal cases.

The violence stemmed from ongoing disputes between Kumaresan and Tinker Kumar over the past year, primarily involving financial matters and issues like littering in front of their houses. Both parties had previously filed complaints against each other at the Icehouse Police Station. It had typically resulted in both sides agreeing to settle the matter amicably.

However, a few days back when Kumaresan was walking near his residence, ‘Tinker’ Kumaran and his associates ambushed him, attacking him with knives before fleeing the scene. Kumaresan suffered severe injuries and was found lying in a pool of blood. The terrified locals then promptly alerted the Icehouse police station.Police officers arrived at the scene, rescued Kumaresan, and rushed him to Royapettah Government Hospital. Later, he was transferred to a private hospital in Thousand Lights area for further treatment. The police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are actively searching for Tinker Kumar and his accomplices, who had fled the scene.

This is not an isolated case in Tamil Nadu. Over the years and more so in the Dravida Munnetra Kazagam rule from 2021, the number of law and order-related incidents has increased. Some are listed below:

In May 2021, a chilling incident unfolded in a densely populated area as a gang of four brutally hacked a lawyer named Gopi Kannan in Trichy. The 35-year-old, who was teaching his daughter to ride a bicycle, was ambushed by unknown assailants on two-wheelers, leaving him fatally wounded.

In September 2021, a shocking incident occurred in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi district, where an auto driver named Sivaperumal, aged 45, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight by two brothers, Arumugam, 31, and Sornaraj, 28. The trio, who were acquainted and would regularly meet for drinks, engaged in a dispute during their gathering, leading to Arumugam using a concealed knife to attack Sivaperumal. Sornaraj intervened to prevent Sivaperumal from escaping, while the incident was captured on a bystander’s mobile phone.

In another incident in May 2022, Balachandar, the head of BJP’s SC/ST wing for Central Chennai, was brutally hacked to death in the heart of the city. While conversing with friends at Saminayakan Street in Chintadripet, he was surrounded by four men, prompting him to flee for his life. However, the assailants pursued him on motorcycles and carried out the murder in public view on a busy road, raising concerns about the city’s law and order situation, with 18 murders reported in the same month that year.

In October 2022, painter Raghu was stabbed and slit his throat in a hospital after joining a rival gang. The gang leader learned of Raghu’s involvement and assaulted him at home. After escaping, Raghu sought treatment at Mettur Government Hospital. Three men followed him, stabbed him, and slit his throat. The incident had gone viral on social media and raised questions about the state of law and order in Tamil Nadu.

In November 2022, Kalikannan, the Vice President of the BJP in Tirupattur, was abducted by a gang of mercenaries who later brutally hacked him to death near Uthangarai. The incident unfolded when the men forcibly took him from his shop at knifepoint in a Scorpio car. Kalikannan had been receiving death threats for about a month, prompting him to avoid being alone, and the assailants seemed aware of this before abducting him.

In January 2023, a Hindu temple employee, Krishnan, was killed by inebriated thugs who had asked him not to drink alcohol on the premises. Krishnan, who was working at the ancient Navaneethakrishna Swamy temple, had returned home to celebrate the Pongal festival. When he returned, thugs from the same area, including the main accused Kombaiya, were drinking alcohol inside the temple premises. A heated quarrel led to a fistfight, and Kombaiya and other inebriated thugs slashed Krishna near a barrage before fleeing. Krishna later succumbed to his injuries.

In February 2023, Indian Army soldier Prabhu was beaten to death by 10 men, including DMK Municipal Councillor Chinnasamy, near Pochampalli in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred after a heated exchange between Prabhu and Chinnasamy over washing clothes. The attackers, including Chinnasamy, attacked Prabhakaran and Prabhu, resulting in severe injuries.

In another incident in February 2023, a person was brutally hacked to death by a gang outside the Coimbatore court premises. This incident occurred within a month of another crime taking place inside the court complex, raising concerns about the audacity of criminals in the state.

In March 2023 in Coimbatore, a man carried out a horrific acid attack on his wife inside the Coimbatore court complex while they were there to resolve a dispute. This cruel act resulted in severe injuries to the wife’s face and also affected five individuals in her vicinity.

He had reportedly been targeted by the sand mafia due to his opposition to illegal sand transportation in the area. Two unidentified assailants entered his office around noon, carried out the attack, and fled the scene.

In another incident in April 2023, a BJP functionary in Tamil Nadu, Shankar, was brutally hacked to death while he was travelling in his car to his home on the night of 27 April 2023. Shankar, who served as the President of Varapuram Panchayat Council and the State Treasurer of BJP Tamil Nadu Scheduled Caste wing, was attacked by a gang who threw a country bomb at his car, forcing him to flee on foot. Tragically, he was chased down and murdered on the Chennai – Bengaluru highway, and the assailants fled the scene.

In June 2023 in Tamil Nadu’s Karaikudi district, five assailants hacked a man named Arivazhagan, known as Vinith, to death in broad daylight. The attackers were caught on nearby CCTV cameras arriving in an SUV and brutally assaulting Vinith with iron rods and wooden sticks on a busy street, while onlookers witnessed the horrifying scene. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene, leaving Vinith lifeless on the road, while a bystander in a blue shirt attempted to intervene and prevent their escape.

In September 2023, a deeply distressing incident occurred in Palladam, Tirupur district, as four members of a single family were brutally hacked to death with sickles. The attack was prompted by an objection to alcohol consumption in the backyard, leading to a confrontation between Senthilkumar and Venkatesan and his associates. The tragic result was the loss of four lives, including two women, leaving the community in profound shock and sorrow.

In October 2023, in Ambattur, a 53-year-old autorickshaw driver named Maxwell was brutally hacked to death by a gang after he returned home from a Tasmac outlet.
