DMK MP Thanga Tamil Selvan Slams Islamist Groups Over Controversial Goat Sacrifice Claims At Sacred Hindu Site Thiruparankundram Hills

DMK’s Andipatti MLA, Thanga Tamil Selvan, has strongly criticized Islamist groups claiming the right to sacrifice goats and roosters at the sacred Hindu site Thiruparankundram hilltop’s Sikkandar Dargah, calling it completely wrong and not a customary practice. He stated that this new development was influenced by external groups, and that Hindus and Muslims in the local community have always lived together peacefully, respecting each other’s sentiments. He emphasized that the problem arose when these groups attempted to impose this practice, which was never part of the tradition. He also asserted that Muslims have never worshipped a burial site or anything other than Allah.

Thanga Tamil Selvan, speaking to a private media channel, said, “Muslims arrived there about 500 years ago, and this is the case in many countries throughout history—every era sees different groups rise to power. When that happened, a man named Sikkandar died and was buried there as a form of worship, like Dargahs. The majority of people who visit are Hindus, more than Muslims. It’s a belief there that worshipping at this site helps remove bad fortune and bring in good fortune, a tradition that has been followed for generations. There’s no difference between our Piranmallai Kallars and the Muslims there. Now, when people newly say, “I will go and slaughter a goat, cook biryani, and offer a blood sacrifice,” that’s when the problem arises. This is an unnecessary issue. The Muslims there and we have lived together till this day, with no division between us. However, I want to point out that groups like Hindu Munnani, RSS, and some Islamists are stirring up an unnecessary discussion, which is completely wrong. First of all, Muslims who went there and claimed they will perform blood sacrifices and slaughter goats is completely wrong, as this was never part of the custom.”

He explained that, “For Muslims, Allah is their God, and there is no practice of worshiping a burial site and what we oppose is the imposition of a new practice, that is what we oppose which is completely wrong.”

Backdrop

The sacred Hindu site of Thirupparankundram Hills is witnessing escalating tensions, with controversial actions by a Muslim politician stoking divisive rhetoric. Indian Union Muslim League member and Ramanathapuram MP, Navas Kani, who also holds the position of chairman of the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board, has stirred further discord by declaring that the dargah on the hilltop is Waqf property. He also shared a post on social media claiming that Muslims had consumed cooked non-vegetarian food at the foothills, which outraged Hindus and devotees. This move sent shockwaves through the region, further intensifying existing tensions.

This development is part of a series of incidents that have strained relations between Hindus and Muslims, who had previously lived in harmony. Some Islamists groups have been attempting to assert their rights to conduct animal sacrifices at the hilltop, furthering their claims that the entire Thirupparankundram Hills should be recognized as Sikkandar Hills.

The situation escalated on 27 December 2024, when Madurai police intervened to detain a group of Muslims family attempting to bring goats and roosters to the hilltop dargah for ritual sacrifice. Syed Abu Dahir, a 53-year-old from Malaiyadipatti in Rajapalayam, arrived with his family and animals for the ceremony but was stopped by authorities at the base of the hill. Police informed them that bringing livestock up the hill was prohibited, which led to a protest by over 20 local Muslims at the foot of the hill in solidarity with the family.

The following week, on 5 January 2025, another large group of Muslim protesters gathered at Thirupparankundram Hills, demanding permission to offer prayers at the mosque located at the top. When the police denied their request, tensions escalated, leading to a brief scuffle and the detention of the protesters.

On 17 January 2025, during the Santhanakoodu Festival at a nearby dargah, social media posts began circulating about an upcoming “Equality Feast” (Samabanthi Bhojan) on 18 January at the hilltop dargah, where goats and roosters were allegedly to be sacrificed. Fearing communal unrest, police set up barricades and conducted searches to prevent the transportation of livestock to the hill. When the dargah Jamath was informed that animal sacrifices were not allowed, protests broke out. Members of the Jamath, along with other Muslim protesters, clashed with the police, causing further disruptions.

The situation was exacerbated by the involvement of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), an ally of AIADMK and a group linked to the banned terror outfit PFI. These elements are believed to be behind the attempts to conduct animal sacrifices at the sacred Thirupparankundram Hill.

Furthering tensions, on 21 January 2025, DMK Manapparai MLA Abdul Samad was accused of conducting an illegal survey around the temple with intentions to gain control of the hill. On the same day, IUML member and Ramanathapuram MP Navas Kani was seen giving an interview near the Thirupparankundram Hills. When asked whether the dargah at the hilltop was under the Waqf Board, Kani confirmed, “Yes, it is under the control of the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board,” further heightening tensions in the area.

Inside the Rohingya Rights Lobby: Who’s Pulling The Strings?

The Supreme Court, on 12 February 2025, heard a plea for Rohingya illegals’ access to schools, free healthcare, and subsidised food. The Supreme Court emphasized that no child should face discrimination in education. The court asked for details on their settlements, with the NGO Rohingya Human Rights Initiative stating that “refugees” hold UNHCR cards but lack Aadhaar, barring them from essential services. They reside in Shaheen Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, and Khajuri Khas. The PIL seeks free education, healthcare, and government benefits for Rohingyas, similar to Indian citizens.

The plea is filed by Colin Gonsalves on behalf of NGO Rohingya Human Rights Initiative members who are Rohingyas living in India. Let’s take a look at who funds this “initiative.

Rohingya Human Rights Initiative (R4R) was created in 2017 as registered as a Public Charitable Trust and non-profit, non-governmental organisation. It receives funds from the Global Statelessness Fund which is a project of the Netherlands-based Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion.

All of this money is the trickle-down effect from UNHCR Soros’s Open Society Foundation, Govt of Canada’s Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative which was announced in 2016. As soon Soros fund was announced, R4R was created in 2017.

Both the Global Statelessness Fund and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion get funds from Soros’s Open Society Foundation and Ford Foundation.

Ali Johar (Maung Thein Shwe) came to India in 2005. He is an advisor at R4R was a former fellow of Refugees International whose President is a former USAID employee and RI receives funding from OSF and Rockefeller Brothers Fund. He is also part of the Free Rohingya Coalition which receives funds from the Global Statelessness Fund. He lives in Delhi.

Ali Johar was given the Global Youth Peace Ambassador recognised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. He is currently a Fellow at Social Change Initiative which is funded by Oak Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy which has close links to Soros.

Ravi Hemadri is an advisor at R4R. He runs the Development and Justice Initiative (DAJI) whose project Right to Nationality and Citizenship Network (RNCN) campaigns in India every child born in India should get Indian citizenship irrespective of their parents’ legal status. Ravi also runs The Other Media protested against the Vedanta Sterlite plant and is under govt scanner for FCRA violations.

Development and Justice Initiative (DAJI) and the Other Media both FCRA’s are still open.

R4R advisor Dr. Maung Zarni is the co-founder of the Free Rohingya Coalition. He is a frequent guest at Hindus for Human Rights talks. He is also on the board of the Forces of Renewal of Southeast Asia (FORSEA).

Amal de Chickera another advisor at R4R is a Sri Lankan. he is also the Steering Committee member of the Global Statelessness Fund and founder of Stichting Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion.

Prashant Bhushan and Colin Gonsalves have advocated for the rights of Rohingyas in India. Gonsalves is the advocate for Zubair and Soros, the Ford Foundation, and Churches for his NGO Human Rights Law Network (HRLN).

Refugees International is pushing India to take in more Rohingyas and not deport illegals from India. RI is headed by Jeremy Konyndyk, former USAID’s lead official for COVID-19. RI teams up with The Azadi Project run by Priyali Sur, a former news anchor of CNN-IBN. She petitioned the SC seeking the release of detained Rohingyas. USAID’s Director John Gilligan said the agency was infiltrated with CIA people “the idea was to plant operatives in every kind of activity we had overseas: government, volunteer, religious, every kind”.

Colin Gonsalves is connected to the founder of AltNews Pratik Sinha through an NGO called Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) which had a joint venture called Janhit with Jan Sangarsh Manch whose owners were the parents of Pratik Sinha.

It is noteworthy that Gonsalves’ NGO HRLN received funds from the Open Society Foundation (Soros), Ford Foundation, Tata Trust, and many other Christian organisations and Western embassies.

‘I Was Almost Sentenced to Death’, Says Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Over Blasphemy Row In Pakistan

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has claimed that he was “almost sentenced to death in Pakistan” after facing legal action over blasphemous content posted on his social media platform.

Speaking in a recent interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, Zuckerberg discussed the challenges social media platforms face due to differing legal frameworks worldwide. He cited Pakistan as an example, stating that criminal proceedings were initiated against him after blasphemous content—specifically a drawing of the Prophet Muhammad—was shared on Facebook.

“There are laws in different countries that we disagree with. For example, there was a time when someone was trying to get me sentenced to death in Pakistan because someone on Facebook had a drawing of the Prophet Muhammad, and someone said that’s blasphemy in our culture’. They sued me and opened criminal proceedings… But I am not planning to go to Pakistan, so I’m not worried about it,” Zuckerberg said.

While acknowledging that the situation was unsettling, Zuckerberg remarked that flying over the region posed a potential risk, saying, “It’s not great if you’re flying over that region, you don’t want your plane to go down above Pakistan.”

He further highlighted broader concerns about government interference in free speech, arguing that some nations seek to impose restrictions on content that would otherwise be considered legitimate expression. “To have those governments exert that kind of power is a lot of force,” he said, calling on the US government to support American tech companies facing such challenges abroad.

Zuckerberg’s remarks come just weeks after Meta announced sweeping changes to its content moderation policies, including the removal of fact-checkers across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. The company’s new approach will focus on addressing high-severity violations such as terrorism, child exploitation, and drug-related offences, while promoting a policy of “more speech” by easing certain restrictions on mainstream discussions.

The overhaul has been widely praised by figures such as former US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who have previously criticized Meta’s content policies.

Fake Website Dupes Devotees Of Thirunallar Lord Shani Temple, Probe Underway

An unauthorized website impersonating the official platform of the renowned Lord Shani Temple in Thirunallar, Karaikal district, has surfaced, allegedly defrauding devotees of large sums under the guise of prayer bookings. The fraudulent website, resembling the temple’s legitimate platform, has drawn the attention of the Hindu Religious Institutions department and is now under cybercrime investigation.

Authorities became aware of the issue after devotees reported not receiving the promised prasadam for prayers booked through the fake portal. Following a complaint filed in January, Karaikal cybercrime officials launched an investigation into the scam. The Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department and temple administration have urged law enforcement to take down the unauthorized website and take action against its creators.

The official website of the temple is thirunallarutemple.org, while the fraudulent site operates under thirunallartemple.com. The fake platform mimics the legitimate one, offering prayer booking options such as Monthly Kattalai Archanai, Ashtothra Archanai, and Sahasranama Archanai, with charges ranging from ₹981 to ₹5,001 for Indian devotees and up to $151 (₹13,256) for international devotees.

The Thirunallar Lord Shani Temple, situated within the Lord Dharbaranyeswarar Temple, is one of South India’s prominent Navagraha shrines, drawing millions of devotees annually, especially on Saturdays. Investigations suggest that the fraudulent website may have been operational for several years. Karaikal police have requested the domain registrar to remove the website, and further inquiries are underway.

2 States In India Have Sanskrit As Official Language But Dravidian Model DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran Exposes His Ignorance

DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran, on 11 February 2025, opposed the simultaneous interpretation of Lok Sabha proceedings in Sanskrit, arguing that it was unnecessary and a waste of taxpayers’ money. He linked the move to RSS ideology and questioned the relevance of Sanskrit as a communicative language.

During Question Hour, Maran cited the 2011 Census, which recorded only 73,000 Sanskrit speakers, and emphasized that while he supported interpretation in official state languages, he objected to Sanskrit being included. He said, “Sir, you are giving translation, which is most welcome, for the languages, which are the state languages, official state languages, can you tell me which state official language is Sanskrit? Why are we wasting taxpayers’ money with this language, which is not even communicable, nobody communicates with it in any of the states in India, nobody speaks with it. The population survey in 2011 said only 73000 people are supposed to be speaking. Sir, when there is data, why should the taxpayers’ money be wasted because of your RSS ideologies?”

While he received belt treatment from the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla who schooled him that he was living in Bharat where Sanskrit is one of the official languages and is recognised by the House. Om Birla asserted that Sanskrit has been India’s primary language. Birla clarified that interpretation services were being provided in multiple languages, not just Sanskrit, and later announced the inclusion of six more languages—Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit, and Urdu—for simultaneous interpretation in Parliament.

However, it is noteworthy that Maran exposed his ignorance when he claimed that only 73000 people in India spoke the language. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have designated Sanskrit as official languages of the state. In 2010, Uttarakhand became the first state in India to designate Sanskrit as its second official language. In 2019, Himachal Pradesh followed as the second state to grant Sanskrit the same status.

Additionally, Wikipedia says that there are 2,360,821 total speakers of Sanskrit in India, as of 2011. So, on both fronts – be it numbers or assuming that no one speaks it or its official status, Dayanidhi Maran has made a fool of himself by just opening his mouth over a non-issue and creating an illusion that he is fighting for judicious use of taxpayers’ money!

“Who Got The ₹1 Crore?”: Govt Doctor Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan’s Widow Confronts Medical Director Over False Claims And Unfulfilled Promises

Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan, a dedicated government doctor, fought relentlessly for the implementation of Government Ordinance 354 to ensure fair wages and benefits for government doctors, right up until his death on 6 February 2020. However, despite his tireless efforts, the ordinance remains unimplemented. Recently, this issue has sparked widespread criticism, with columns highlighting the inefficiency and neglect of both the government and the Tamil Nadu health sector.

In response to the growing criticism, J. Sangumani, the Director of Medical Education and Research, issued a statement, claiming that disagreements between medical associations had stalled the implementation of Government Order 354. He insisted that the government was ready to meet the demand, citing a unanimous opinion on the matter. Sangumani also mentioned that the Minister had directed that jobs be offered to Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan’s heirs, though he claimed the family had not accepted the offer. Furthermore, he stated that a fund of ₹1 crore had been allocated to the families of six doctors, including Dr. Narasimhan, who died in the line of duty, on 10 January.

This statement quickly became controversial, leading to strong reactions from the doctor’s family. Anuradha, Dr. Narasimhan’s widow, contacted the media, challenging Sangumani’s claims. She accused him of spreading false information, stating that neither the government nor the medical department had taken any concrete action. She also released an audio recording of her conversation with the Director, which went viral, further fueling the controversy.

In the recorded audio conversation, Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan’s wife, Anuradha, confronted J. Sangkumani, the Director of Medical Education and Research, questioning his claims. She asked, “Sir, you mentioned that you have disbursed one crore to us—can you tell me to whom you gave it?” He replied, “That day a madam came and received, hasn’t she?” She continued, “You hold a prominent position, and someone in your position should be guiding us, could you be spreading such misinformation?” He replied, “Agalyan mentioned that you came that day”, She questioned back, “but who exactly came? You’re respected—can you do like this?” Sangumani tried to overlook by stating, “I’ll check with the office,” She asked, “Can you give misinformation to the media? You should have asked us first or at least verified with someone before sharing such information with the news.” He again tried to evade with response saying, “If I had your number, I would have asked you directly.” Sangumani responded by saying that someone in the office had claimed the money was disbursed, which led him to post it online. Then, she pressed further, asking, “You said we didn’t join despite being offered a job. But did you actually offer us a job?”

In a fit of anger, she said, “I’m going to court, and you shall answer there. Your government has done nothing for us, and it took you four years to provide us with a pension. Isn’t that wrong? Should it really take four years to get a pension?” Director Sangumani repeatedly claimed he would refer the matter to the office, to which she responded, “We are in so much pain. Our loss is not small, and you’re behaving even worse than the previous government. Under whose directive did you issue this denial statement?” She later questioned whether there were any irregularities involved and insisted that G.O. 354 should be implemented. Finally, she asked, “Will I have to come and beg for alms from your minister?”

Clash Erupts At St. Michael The Archangel Church In Kanyakumari Over Shrine Demolition Plans

A commotion and minor skirmish erupted between two groups—one led by the church priest and the other comprising church members—when the priest’s group attempted to demolish the old shrine in front of the church to expand the St. Michael the Archangel shrine in Mela Asaripallam, Kanyakumari district. The members opposed the demolition and attacked those involved in the expansion efforts. This unrest led to police being deployed to manage the agitated crowd.

The St. Michael the Archangel Church, located near Nagercoil, supports over a hundred families devoted to this historic site. For several years, the church priest has been accused of attempting to demolish an old shrine across the road from the church to build a new one within the church grounds.

This plan faced strong opposition from some church members, who have called for the priest’s transfer, alleging that he fosters division among congregants and engages in money laundering activities. Recently, the church administration, led by the priest, tried to remove the old shrine and held a puja there to pave the way for a new structure. However, the opposing group intervened, leading to heated exchanges between the two factions.

Police, led by Nagercoil ASP Lalith Kumar, were deployed to manage the escalating tensions. One group condemned the priest’s actions and protested outside the church, while the priest’s supporters organized their own demonstrations in response.

Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple Issue: Seeman Takes The Side Of Islamists Demanding Animal Sacrifice On Thaipoosam Day

Naam Tamilar Party chief Seeman has once again attempted to appease the minority Muslim vote bank, promoting narratives against the sacred Hindu site of Thiruparankundram Hills. He emphasized that the hill dargah has a long-standing tradition of sacrificing goats and roosters, cooking meat, etc., and claimed that recent efforts to ban these practices were unwarranted. Seeman labeled the Hindus and Murugan devotees who united in opposition on 4 February 2025, during a mass protest as a “divisive force” and suggested that the DMK should curtail their rights.

Previously, Seeman, who refers to Murugan as the “great-grandfather” of Tamils, criticized Murugan devotees who opposed groups like the SDPI, which claim the right to sacrifice animals at the sacred hilltop—actions that contradict the temple’s traditions. He crafted a narrative suggesting that the protests were aimed at opposing Muslim worship at the dargah, employing divisive rhetoric that risks inciting violence. This rhetoric obscures the fact that IUML Ramanathapuram MP Navaskani, a DMK ally, audaciously visited the temple and claimed that the dargah was under the Waqf Board’s jurisdiction, implying control over the entire hill and posted pictures of Navaskani’s supporters consuming non-vegetarian food in the foothills near the temple, which angered devotees and sparked a large-scale protest.

Despite these facts, Seeman who has failed to address the real issues at hand pandered to Muslim voters while distorting the concerns of Hindus who seek to protect the sanctity of their temple misrepresented their legitimate grievances as divisive, all while ignoring the true motivations behind the protest.

NTK Chief Seeman via his official X account stated, “When the Kashi Vishwanathar Temple and the Sikkandar Dargah have stood on Thiruparankundram Hill for many years, with people of both religions worshipping according to their beliefs without any conflict. Now, who turned this into a problem and made it a big deal? Who turned Madurai, where the grand event of Kallazhagar’s descent into the river and the Chithirai festival are celebrated with great social harmony and without any minimal commotion, into a place of religious tension? Why did the ruling DMK government help to inflate the situation instead of preventing it from escalating into a major religious conflict by inviting both sides at the outset, reaching a consensus, and finding a solution? Given that the gifting of goats and chickens to the Sikandar Dargah, along with the cooking and eating of meat, has been carried out with religious harmony very naturally, what is the reason behind the sudden refusal of police permission to bring goats and chickens? Why is there no departmental action against the police officer for his actions? Why is there hesitation in issuing an order that there is no prohibition on cooking and eating meat at the dargah on Thiruparankundram Hill? How did the BJP get permission from the court on the same day to hold a protest focusing on this issue on 3 February, and how did thousands of BJP members manage to do so in the evening? How was this possible when Section 144 was imposed? How did the police allow BJP members to trespass into the temple with BJP flags? While the BJP, RSS, and other Sangh Parivar groups are trying to turn the Thiruparankundram hill problem into an issue to make Madurai a religiously sensitive area like Coimbatore, why is the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department not standing on the side of justice and acting as if to strengthen the BJP’s side? Under whose direction is Minister Sekarbabu acting this way? What is Chief Minister Stalin doing? Is the DMK paving the way for Hindutva politics? Why didn’t the DMK government argue that the practice of eating meat at the dargah is a long-standing custom in the case related to this issue? Why is the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department objecting to the sacrifice of goats and chickens on the hills? In the peace committee talks, officials of the Department said, “If goats and chickens are sacrificed on the mountain, the sanctity of the mountain will be spoiled.” Revenue Commissioner Kannan says it is a ‘Shiv mountain’. Is the DMK government deliberately trying to create religious tension? Why did the Chief Minister and the ministers pass by without taking responsibility and responding to the issue of Thiruparankundram Hills Dargah when Manithaneya Makkal Katchi MLA P. Abdul Samad brought a resolution to draw attention to it? The Places of Worship Act, enacted in 1991, provides for the continuation of the religious status of the place of worship as it was at the time of independence. On that basis, is it not illegal for the DMK government’s Charity Department to suddenly ban the ritual of sacrificing goats and chickens at Sikandar Dargah, which has been going on for over 300 years?”

“It is the moral responsibility and duty of the ruling DMK government to effectively guide and manage the officials under its authority. Due to the poor management of the DMK government, from the Kallakurichi illegal hooch deaths to the issues surrounding worship on Thiruparankundram Hill, the bureaucracy has become dysfunctional and is going astray. Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Stalin bears full responsibility for this. Is it fair for him to merely wave his hand at the officials and evade his responsibilities? At a time when the Sangh Parivar is spreading slander and unleashing a divisive conspiracy by threatening to turn Sikandar Dargah into another Ayodhya, isn’t it treasonous for the DMK government, which should support the Muslim community’s right to worship, to remain falsely silent and take a stand against them through the Department of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments?”

A.S. Panneerselvan: The Hindu’s Link To USAID-Funded Media Manipulation?

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit, has long positioned itself as a champion of press freedom, training over 70,000 journalists across 180 countries since its inception in 1984. However, the organization’s deep financial ties with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) raise serious concerns about foreign interference, particularly in India.

Among those benefiting from ICFJ’s funding is A.S. Panneerselvan, a senior figure in Indian journalism who serves as the Readers’ Editor of The Hindu and is an advisory panel member of the Knight International Journalism Fellowship, a program administered by ICFJ. Panneerselvan, who also holds a faculty position at the Asian College of Journalism, has been a long-time proponent of narratives that align with globalist interests, often at odds with India’s sovereignty. His role as Executive Director of Panos South Asia—a media organization operating across multiple countries—further underscores his position as a conduit for foreign-backed ideological influence.

But why does it matter if he is connected? In October 2024, the Dravidian propaganda handle on social media platform X was exposed, and its admins are being revealed individually. The Commune also reported on how a person named Kathir RS, biographer of TN CM and DMK chief MK Stalin, was the face behind the handleWe Dravidians’ that spewed venom against Hindus, especially Brahmins.

The handle met stiff opposition from Pawan Kalyan’s fans after the latter, and Udhayanidhi Stalin locked horns over Sanatana Dharma’s remarks. An Andhra Pradesh-based advocate filed a police complaint against the handle. Subsequently, the admins deactivated the handle and disappeared.

We all found out that the anti-Hindu secessionist handle We Dravidians had a strong DMK connection. Now here is where Panneerselvan features. For the launch of this biography, Kathir is seen with a few members known to be staunch supporters of the party or associated with the party itself in some way. Among them is ICFJ -The Hindu’s Panneerselvan!

It is an open secret that The Hindu has been peddling lies and leftist narratives for quite some time now, especially with the likes of N Ram at the helm.

Coming back to the Panneerselvan connection – The ICFJ Knight Fellowships, funded by USAID and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, claim to promote news innovation and investigative journalism. However, their track record suggests a pattern of funding media initiatives designed to push specific political agendas. These fellowships have been instrumental in enabling foreign-backed journalists to interfere in domestic affairs, framing issues in a manner that undermines India’s national and cultural interests.

USAID: The U.S. Deep State’s Tool For Regime Change

USAID, under the guise of humanitarian aid, has a long history of funding covert operations aimed at destabilizing governments. Established in the 1960s, the agency has been widely accused of engaging in regime change activities and undermining sovereign nations. India has been a key target of these efforts, with USAID funding numerous NGOs and projects that align with anti-national narratives.

One particularly egregious example is the involvement of the Atlantic Council, a USAID-backed think tank that has worked to censor pro-India voices on social media platforms like WhatsApp. This initiative, backed by billionaire George Soros, sought to suppress nationalist sentiments and weaken support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Soros, who has openly committed $1 billion to undermine nationalist leaders globally, has played a major role in funding these disruptive efforts.

Further compounding USAID’s influence in India is its deep-rooted connection with the Indian National Congress, particularly through figures like Sam Pitroda, a key mentor to Rahul Gandhi. USAID’s financial backing of organizations and media entities linked to the Congress has long raised questions about its role in shaping India’s political landscape in a direction favorable to Western interests.

The Trump Administration’s Crackdown on USAID

Recognizing USAID’s unchecked influence, the Trump administration took decisive action against the agency, freezing foreign assistance, terminating contractors, and placing senior officials on leave. In one of the most dramatic moves, Elon Musk—appointed to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—declared USAID acriminal organizationand called for its dissolution. Following this, USAID’s official website and X (formerly Twitter) account were shut down, signaling a significant rollback of its operations.

The time has come to expose and counteract these hidden agendas before they further erode India’s national interests. Indian policymakers, media professionals, and the public must recognize and challenge the covert operations that threaten the country’s stability and sovereignty.

Dravidian Model: Long Queues, Devotees Slapped & Manhandled, Poor Arrangements For Thaipoosam At Murugan Temples Across TN

Thaipoosam, one of the biggest Hindu festivals for devotees of Lord Muruga in Tamil Nadu, turned out to be a sour experience for many, especially with their temple visits marred by heavy crowding, poor management by the staff of the Murugan temples, some of which are managed by the HR&CE department. Let’s take a look at each of them.

Kundrathur Murugan Temple

On the occasion of Thaipusam, thousands of devotees gathered at the Kundrathur Murugan Temple in Kanchipuram district, with many arriving as early as 4 AM. However, they faced significant hardships due to the lack of basic facilities such as drinking water and shelter, exacerbated by the intense heat. The overwhelming crowd led to chaotic situations, with long queues and delays in darshan. Many devotees expressed concerns that even those arriving early might have to wait for over ten hours to see the deity.

Adding to the frustration, preferential treatment was reportedly given to certain individuals, with temple staff allowing select people through a separate entrance while ordinary devotees were left waiting. This led to outrage among the crowd, who confronted temple authorities, including the executive officer, questioning the discrimination.

Tensions escalated when a journalist covering the issue had his identity card and mobile phone forcibly taken by temple staff. Reports indicate that the journalist faced threats from officials who were also taking photos and intimidating those who questioned them. This incident has caused a stir in the area, further highlighting the mismanagement at the temple.

Given the worsening situation and the expected increase in devotees, there is a strong demand for immediate improvements in basic facilities and better crowd management to ensure a smoother and fairer experience for all. It is noteworthy that this temple comes under the HR&CE purview.

Siruvapuri Murugan Temple

A few transgender devotees who had been on a vow to visit the temple had been using the VIP path for the past few weeks while carrying out their vow. Since yesterday was Thaipoosam, the VIP path was reserved for VIPs and politicians, so these devotees chose the VIP path as usual, and were allegedly manhandled by the police personnel. One of them stated that she had recently undergone an implant surgery and yet the police pushed her and developed chest pain. Another transgender who was with the victim questioned the police as to why they behaved so but received no response. When questioned why they went on the VIP path instead of the common path, they said they felt uncomfortable among the crowd since they were transgenders.

Police alleged that they were indulging in begging which the transgenders refused saying they were involved in a tailoring business and did not have the need to beg people. Continuing to describe the physical altercation, the transgender said, “A lady officer came when this was happening and slapped me without any reason. But in the news, it has been reported that we were begging the people, asking them for money and that is why the police slapped us. It is totally wrong. You can check the CCTVs. If we stand in the regular queue, we are subjected to harassment by the general public and that is why we took the other queue. The male police officers pushed us touching our chest, how is this justified?”

Some other devotees also alleged manhandling and abuse at the hands of police officers at the same Siruvapuri temple. One of them said, “A child is hurt, and these people are not attending to her even. The police are not doing their duty properly. There are so many people here. They are giving more importance to the VIPs. When we asked about this, they beat those who raised questions. In the other place, there is no police personnel deployed and there is a huge crowd there. They are all here (attending to VIPs).”

Some alleged that if devotees paid money, they would be allowed inside through the shorter queue. Another devotee alleged that a policeman abused her and used the word “podi“.

Vadapalani Murugan Temple

At the Vadapalani Murugan temple, it was no different. The temple which comes under the purview of the HR&CE faced flak from devotees for its poor coordination and crowd management.

A devotee asked, “Do they know that it is a festival day only today? Shouldn’t safety measures be taken properly? The crowd is crushing an infant. An old person is fainting because of the heat and crowd, there is no water or any other facilities. There is absolutely no coordination. I don’t understand why they are doing this. Everyone wants to peacefully have the darshan of the Lord. They could have put a barricade in front and ensured a single-line queue. They are giving importance to those who are paying and entering the temple. Those in the free queue are suffering. They have been standing in the queue from 2 AM. There are old people, women, and other poor people. I request the HR&CE department to take appropriate measures – now the crowd is less but it will increase with time.”

Women were seen fainting and sweating profusely. The devotees carrying paal kudam (pots of milk) and kavadi to complete their vow were very high in number faced a chaotic crowd and were manhandled by the police as seen in this video. The queues were long and winding and many had to stand in the hot sun to get darshan.

Chennimalai Murugan Temple

Thousands of devotees attended the Thaipusam chariot festival at Chennimalai Murugan Temple in the Erode district but faced severe difficulties due to road construction. The town panchayat reportedly dumped stones and sand on the path traditionally used by devotees for their foot procession, causing injuries and discomfort.

Chennimalai Murugan Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in the region, attracts lakhs of devotees, especially during special occasions like Thaipusam. However, the ongoing roadwork, allegedly carried out without considering the festival schedule, has left pilgrims struggling to walk barefoot, with reports of injuries due to the rough terrain.

Concerns have been raised about the timing of the construction, with critics questioning why the work was not planned before or after the festival.

Even during the Kanda Shashti festival in January 2025, people faced severe difficulties at Thiruchendur. HR&CE Minister Sekar Babu made insensitive comments at the people who demanded they be given better facilities.
