‘ISKCON Hindus Attack Muslims’: Video Of Shocking Claims By Bangladesh Police Surfaces Amid Hindu Persecution Under Yunus Regime

In a recently surfaced undated video, Bangladeshi police are seen making statements to the press, in which they reportedly labeled the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) aterrorist organization. This video, shared by Radharamn Das, Vice President and spokesperson for ISKCON in Kolkata, captures police claiming that ISKCON members chanted the Hindu sloganJai Shri Ram,which they allege is evidence of terrorism. The police officer added, They chanted the slogan Jai Shri Ram”. Besides this, we can learn through Facebook and intelligence. ISKCON Hindus are mainly the ones who attack Muslims. We have learned through various Facebook posts that ISKCON Hindus have carried out the attacks.”

This is not the first time that ISKCON has been targeted. This accusation follows remarks made earlier this month by Mahmudur Rahman, editor of Amar Desh newspaper, who allegedly described ISKCON as amilitant organizationandan agent of R&AW,India’s foreign intelligence agency. Rahman also called for banning ISKCON in Bangladesh because they were organizing protests to fight for the rights of Hindus in Bangladesh. Following his comments, ISKCON leaders sought an apology, citing defamation and discrimination.

However, tensions escalated further when two ISKCON members were arrested days later on charges of sedition related to a recent rally in Chittagong on 25 October 2024. The Chittagong rally, held by Hindu communities calling for equal rights, sparked controversy after an image circulated online showing a flag reportedly hoisted above the Bangladeshi national flag—a move deemed seditious under Bangladesh’s laws.

Shortly after, sedition charges were filed against 19 individuals, including ISKCON’s Chittagong division organizing secretary and a coordinator from the Hindu Jagran Manch. The case was filed by a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), an opposition party critical of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s administration and reportedly seeking to capitalize on the charged political atmosphere.

ISKCON officials have denied any connection to the flag shown in the viral image, stating that the organization does not possess an official flag. They allege that the charges are politically motivated and that ISKCON is being unfairly targeted. Despite the apparent bias, police have proceeded with arrests. This development is part of a wider pattern of escalating scrutiny and hostility toward ISKCON in Bangladesh, evidenced by calls for the organization’s ban, defamatory allegations, and recent arrests of its members.

This surge in allegations, coupled with legal actions and arrests, points to what ISKCON claims is a politically driven campaign against the organization, with authorities allegedly neglecting to provide fair protections.

AIADMK Gen Sec Edappadi Palaniswani Demands DMK Govt End ‘Cruel’ Use Of Students For Agricultural Survey

AIADMK Gen Sec Edappadi Palaniswani Demands DMK Govt End 'Cruel' Use Of Students For Agricultural Survey. stalin anna university sexual assault case eps delimitation

The MK Stalin-led DMK Government has enlisted agricultural college students to support a large-scale digital crop survey across Tamil Nadu. However, the students report resource constraints, safety issues, and disruptions to their academic schedules. Assigned to implement the Union government’s AGRISTACK initiative, the students face a lack of travel allowances, inadequate sanitation facilities, and extensive late-night travel as they work in remote areas. Initially, the crop survey’s responsibility fell to Village Administrative Officers (VAOs). However, after VAO associations raised concerns about their workload, the task was reassigned to Agriculture Department officials a few months ago. Due to staff shortages, agricultural students from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and affiliated institutions were subsequently drafted for the survey, which was conducted via a mobile app.

As reported in The Hindu, many students cited logistical hurdles, such as the lack of correction mechanisms within the app and restricted permissions, causing issues in accurately recording crop data. We receive no travel allowance and often reach home late at night after returning to campus for safety, shared a second-year student. Technical issues with the app have also disrupted survey activities. The app crashes frequently, which delays the process significantly, said an Assistant Agricultural Officer from Pudukkottai. With the crucial samba planting season underway, department officials expressed concerns about the impact on their regular duties and the backlog accumulating as they focus on survey work.

The Union government initiated the AGRISTACK project to digitize agricultural data, with an intended budget of ₹2,817 crore, of which ₹1,940 crore is allocated for Tamil Nadu.

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palanisami Condemns DMK Govt

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has condemned the DMK government for relying on students for this project, calling it an inappropriate solution that leaves studentsunder immense stress. He emphasized that other states have engaged revenue departments or private agencies for similar surveys and criticized Tamil Nadu’s government for not utilizing available funds appropriately. On his official X handle, EPS wrote, The central government has allocated funds to digitize all the details including the area of agricultural land, its classification and cultivation details across the country and has advised all the states to complete this survey by April next year. While many states have undertaken this work through the revenue department or through private agencies, the incompetent Mr. @mkstalin’s DMK government is carrying out survey work with agricultural college students in Tamil Nadu, and the students’ education is being affected and they are likely to be harmed by poisonous animals like snakes and scorpions, so the parents of the students are very angry with this government; Therefore, immediately release the students of the agricultural college from this work and provide additional remuneration from the funds provided by the central government to the revenue officials to complete this work on time. I had urged Stalin through my report. But the incompetent government has not taken any action so far. In this case, today, a student studying second-year Hons (Agri) at Aravindar Agricultural Technical College/B.Sc of Tiruvannamalai district was bitten by a poisonous snake while walking on the border to carry out land survey work in Sengam Circle, Vaividanthangal village, and is admitted to Thiruvannamalai Government Hospital in critical condition. Another student was stung by a wasp and is receiving treatment, according to reports. It is not acceptable for Stalin’s DMK government to engage agricultural college students across Tamil Nadu in such dangerous work. The safety of students is very important. Instead of playing with the lives of the students, it is very cruel. Therefore, I urge the Chief Minister to immediately intervene in this matter and hand over this work to the revenue department or the private sector from the funds provided by the central government and immediately relieve the students of the agricultural college from this work. Otherwise, I warn this government that there will be a very big protest on behalf of the affected agricultural college students.”

Kanimozhi’s Double Standards: Demanded Closure Of PSBB School, Silent On Salma School Sexual Harassment Case

Kanimozhi's Double Standards: Demanded Closure Of PSBB School, Silent On Salma School Sexual Harassment Case.

In the backdrop of ongoing sexual harassment cases targeting schoolgirls, a fresh allegation has emerged from Tiruchendur, where female students at a minority institution have accused a physical education teacher of sexually harassing them and coercing them into consuming alcohol. Despite the arrest of the physical education teacher involved in the harassment, as well as the principal and secretary for attempting to silence the victims, the ruling DMK, which was outspoken on similar cases when it was in opposition, has remained conspicuously silent on this matter.

As the recent incident has occurred in the Tiruchendur municipality, criticism has been directed at Thoothukudi DMK MP Kanimozhi, who had been vocal in the past on issues of sexual harassment, if it suits her politics. In 2021, when similar allegations were made at the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) School, Kanimozhi issued a statement demanding the closure of the school and condemned the incident. However, she has remained silent about the recent incident, which took place within her own constituency. This silence has raised questions about the DMK’s hypocrisy and its apparent minority appeasement policies.

The PSBB school, which Kanimozhi had demanded be shut down, was run by a Hindu (specifically a Brahmin) management, while the Salma Matriculation School in question in Tiruchendur is a minority-run Muslim institution. Critics point out the double standard in her response: when the allegations involved a Hindu-run institution, the DMK MP was quick to take action, but when the incident involves a Muslim-run institution, she has chosen to remain silent.

On 2021, DMK MP Kanimozhi posted, “The sexual harassment allegations against a commerce teacher in PSBB School,Chennai has been shocking. Inquiry should be conducted and action must be taken against those who are involved including school authorities who failed to act against the complaints from students.”

How Entire Dravidian Ecosystem Used PSBB School Incident To Unleash Brahmin & Hindu Hatred

A teacher at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) in K.K. Nagar, Chennai, was accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior by students and alumni. The issue came to light after screenshots of Instagram stories began circulating on social media, where students alleged that the teacher had engaged in inappropriate touching, shared pornography links, made sexual innuendos, slut-shamed female students, and appeared in online classes wearing only a towel. He was also accused of asking a female student out for a movie. There were further claims that the school management had ignored the teacher’s behavior.

In response to the growing outrage on social media, YG Parthasarathy, one of the school’s trustees, called for an inquiry into the matter. The teacher was subsequently suspended, and the school management promised to take appropriate action.

However, instead of focusing solely on the sexual harassment allegations, some supporters of the DMK and the ruling establishment in Tamil Nadu turned the incident into an opportunity to spread caste-based hatred.

Many Twitter (now X) handles aligned with the DMK launched a casteist attack against Brahmins and attempted to implicate YG Madhuvanthi and YG Parthasarathy, both trustees of the school, despite the fact that they did not oversee the day-to-day operations of the institution. These individuals were unfairly targeted, despite their limited involvement in the school’s day-to-day functioning. In some cases, the controversy was even twisted to blame the BJP, further politicizing the issue.

This caste-baiting and the unwarranted targeting of Brahmins exposed how quickly the Dravidian ecosystem could exploit a serious case of sexual harassment to push an agenda of divisive politics, using the incident to fuel communal tensions. Rather than focusing on the victims of harassment, the matter was cynically politicized to serve ideological battles, highlighting the persistent caste polarization that continues to shape Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.

DMK MPs Kanimozhi, Dayanidhi Maran and Thamizhachi Thangapandian too tweeted about the issue to derive political mileage.

This raises concerns about the Dravidianist ecosystem and the DMK’s political agenda, with many questioning whether this is part of a broader pattern of ignoring issues if it happens to be from the minority community. The lack of a response from Kanimozhi and the party, even when the incident occurred in her constituency, has fueled accusations of indifference and political hypocrisy.

Keep Congress At Bay To Save Maharashtra, PM Modi Urges People

Keep Congress At Bay To Save Maharashtra, PM Modi Urges People.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday claimed that the Congress party is looting people in broad daylight by committing scams in Karnataka and it is using the same money to fight elections in Maharashtra. He called upon the people to keep the Congress at bay to save Maharashtra.

Addressing a poll rally for BJP and MahaYuti nominees in Pune, PM Modi said, “In Karnataka, Congress lied and urged people to vote for them. They formed a government and were unable to fulfil their promises. Instead, they are running an extortion campaign in Karnataka; scams are being unearthed every other day. It means that the Congress is looting people in broad daylight. Allegedly, Congress is using the same money to fight elections in Maharashtra. If we want to save Maharashtra, we need to keep Congress at bay.” Stepping up attacks against the Congress, the Prime Minister said Congress and its allies have always insulted Maharashtra.

“This land is the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but the Congress and its allies shower praise on Aurangzeb. These people abuse Veer Savarkar, but their mouths are shut when it comes to praising the pride of Maharashtra like Balasaheb Thackeray,” he alleged. “Congress is a party which has neither policy nor intention nor morality. Congress only wants power. It divided the country for power. Congress divided the country on the basis of vote, religion, language and region and for power. Congress played the game of appeasement,” he claimed.

The Prime Minister accused the Congress of playing the game of breaking and dividing the Dalits, backwards and tribals for power. “The people of Congress want to break the unity of SC-ST-OBC by dividing them into different castes. Congress will first weaken them and then snatch away their reservation. You have to remember — if we stay united, we will be safe,” he said. “The unity of OBCs, SCs and STs is troubling Congress, and therefore they want the communities to fight each other. Congress thrives when the backward classes are divided into individual castes instead of being united,” claimed PM Modi. “The pace of development work in Maharashtra is unprecedented, but you have to remember, those (MVA) who were running the government in Maharashtra before MahaYuti did not have a single work to tell you. The two and a half years of the Aghadi were spent in stopping our projects. This is the culture of the Congress and its allies,” said the Prime Minister.

“People of Maharashtra were demanding elite language status to Marathi for decades. Congress governments and Aghadi leaders always ignored this. Our government has fulfilled its responsibility by giving Marathi the status of an elite language,” he added. PM Modi said that the BJP-led NDA government has always prioritised the middle class. “I believe that it is the backbone of the country. It creates and generates wealth. The middle class has made the biggest contribution which is why India is on the path to becoming the third-largest economy in the world. The country is progressing because the middle class is moving ahead. Therefore, in the last 10 years, we made new policies and decisions, keeping the middle class in mind. Today, no tax is to be paid up to the income of Rs 7 lakh per annum,” he added. Further, the Prime Minister said that with the blessings of the people, Article 370 was abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir by “your sevak”.

“Article 370 separated Kashmir from India. It promoted terrorism and separatism in Kashmir. Article 370 did not let the Constitution of India apply in Kashmir. BJP abrogated Article 370 and hoisted Tricolour. We restored peace in Kashmir and thwarted the plans of the separatists,” he roared. PM Modi said that Jammu and Kashmir had a different Constitution. The Indian Constitution did not work there. There was a different Constitution, a different Prime Minister and a different flag. “For the first time, Baba Saheb’s Constitution reached Jammu and Kashmir when you gave Modi the opportunity to serve,” he added.

Gruha Lakshmi Money Release During Elections Violates Code Of Conduct: Basavaraj Bommai

Gruha Lakshmi Money Release During Elections Violates Code Of Conduct: Basavaraj Bommai

Karnataka MP Basavaraj Bommai alleged that depositing Rs 2,000 into the bank accounts of every woman head under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme ahead of every election by the state Congress government is a clear violation of the code of conduct and demanded the Election Commission to stop it forthwith. He said that the elections should be conducted in a free and fair manner but the state government uses public funds to serve its political interests before each election, which is highly condemnable.

“The Election Commission and the district officials in Haveri are turning a blind eye to this issue. It must be immediately stopped. It is clear, the government funds are being misused for election purposes,” he said. He pointed out that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who often speaks about democracy and the Constitution, is allowing the entire government to engage in political corruption using public money. “However, the people of the Shiggaon constituency will not fall for any incentives or inducements, they will recognize the ongoing development in the region and cast their votes without changing the decision they have already made,” he said.

Bommai also expressed confidence that his son and BJP candidate Bharat Bommai will win by a large margin in the Shiggaon constituency. Bommai said that both the Superintendent of Police and Congress leader, former MLA Ajjampeer Khadri have said that the Congress candidate Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan is a “rowdy-sheeter”. “Why did the SP say this and why was it retracted? Chief Minister Siddaramaiah must clarify this matter. Complaints would be lodged with the Central Election Commission and the State Election Commission regarding the issue,” he stated.

Instances Of DMK Leaders & Allies, Along With Dravidianist Media, Whitewashing Islamic Terrorists And Terror Incidents

Instances Of DMK Leaders & Allies, Along With Dravidianist Media, Whitewashing Islamic Terrorists And Terror Incidents.

Amid a surge in radical Islamist threats in the Dravidian Model state of Tamil Nadu, the ruling DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party is shockingly downplaying terrorist activities, including the deadly 2022 Coimbatore car blast. While global terror links and chilling evidence of radicalization surface, the state government continues to whitewash these threats, leaving the region vulnerable to further violence.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is increasingly uncovering these threats, many of which are tied to global and local radical groups. However, despite the seriousness of these terror incidents, the ruling DMK and its leadership appear to be deliberately whitewashing the facts.

In a disturbing trend, when these terror plots are exposed, the ruling party and its allies often minimize the gravity of the situation, presenting a picture that downplays the threat. Even when attacks occur, the state government’s response is often lukewarm, and the media — which should play a crucial role in exposing and investigating these acts — tends to treat them with an uncomfortable level of caution. Reports are often subtly diluted, with crucial details missing or glossed over. In stark contrast, when similar incidents involve individuals from the Hindu community, the media shows an almost peculiar interest in scrutinizing every aspect of their lives, including their family background, caste, and all such non-sense.

This biased approach fosters a dangerous atmosphere where the perpetrators of terror, especially those with links to radical Islamist groups, grow more emboldened each day. It not only undermines the efforts of law enforcement but also sends a message that such acts may go unchecked.

Here are some notable incidents that highlight how the DMK and its allies have failed to address these terror issues properly, choosing instead to whitewash them, allowing the culprits to grow bolder

Coimbatore Car Blast Case 2022:

On 23 October 2022, a car bomb blast occurred near the Kottai Eswaran Temple in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The explosion, which happened in the early hours of the morning, killed the sole occupant of the vehicle, Jameesha Mubin. The car, a Maruti 800, was packed with explosives, causing significant damage to nearby structures.

Investigations revealed that Mubin was allegedly linked to Islamic extremist groups, including ISIS. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) swiftly took charge of the case, looking into potential terrorist connections and whether the attack was part of a larger conspiracy. Several individuals were arrested in connection with the incident, and evidence pointed to ISIS-inspired radicalization. Investigators found that Mubin had been in contact with terror-linked individuals and was likely planning additional attacks in the region. They also recovered materials intended for bomb-making, including nails, ball bearings, and chemicals. Additionally, handwritten documents were found at his house, listing popular spots in Coimbatore that Mubin had either already surveilled or planned to target.

Despite these strong indicators of a terrorist attack, the ruling DMK party downplayed the incident. DMK ministers, including ‘Mylai’ Velu, attempted to frame the explosion as a gas cylinder blast rather than a terror act. This dismissal of the facts was evident in their social media posts and public interviews.

Mylai Velu, the DMK MLA from Mylapore, trivialized the blast, even making derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, who criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin for his alleged failure to provide adequate security during the festive season, suggesting that Stalin should introspect on his leadership. Velu also responded dismissively to the growing criticism by remarking, “Why these needless words. Those who incited the crime should be punished first, rather than the perpetrators. Entire Tamil Nadu knows who is the reason for this (alleged “cylinder blast”). Go to the butcher shop and put your head in there. Tamil Nadu will be peaceful.”

Through his tweet, the DMK MLA implied that it was BJP who triggered the Islamist fundamentalist to carry out the terror blast in Coimbatore and that the BJP should be punished for this crime.

In another case, Isai, the State Deputy Secretary of DMK IT Wing, shared a clip from the Tamil movie Kadhalan in which the antagonist discusses with another man about creating a law and order situation through bomb blasts in order to topple the government.

This clip was again shared by the DMK IT Wing leader, suggesting that the Coimbatore blasts were the handiwork of the BJP. The tweet by Isai was retweeted by Mannargudi DMK MLA and the party’s IT Wing head TRB Rajaa.

DMK Environment Wing Secretary Karthikeya Sivasenapathy

In a 2022 interview, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, the DMK Environment Wing Secretary, tried to downplay the seriousness of the Coimbatore car bomb blast by pushing a narrative that dismissed the evidence linking the terror blast to terrorism. When the interviewer pressed him on the chemicals found at the residence of the deceased bomber, Jameesha Mubin — including Potassium Nitrate and Sulfur — Sivasenapathy attempted to trivialize the issue by suggesting that such chemicals were easily available at local chemical drug stores and could be commonly purchased by anyone, particularly farmers for agricultural purpose.

He suggested that there was nothing unusual about the presence of these chemicals, implying that they were simply for agricultural use. His comments revealed a disturbing level of indifference to the potential threat of terrorism, as well as a dismissive attitude towards the growing radicalization in Tamil Nadu. Sivasenapathy’s remarks came across as alarmingly flippant in the face of mounting evidence that the Coimbatore blast was linked to a terrorist plot involving radical Islamist elements, including possible ISIS connections.

The interviewer pointed out that it wasn’t just the presence of one or two common chemicals, but rather the specific combination and large quantities of these chemicals — such as Ammonium nitrate, DAP, and sulfur — that could be used to create crude bombs, highlighting the grave danger posed by such materials. Despite this, Sivasenapathy remained nonchalant, questioning whether the police had found RDX (a high-grade explosive), as though that was the only indicator of a serious threat.

In the face of such obvious indicators of a terrorist attack, Sivasenapathy continued to deflect, saying, “The chemicals could’ve been bought for farming purposes.” He minimized the specific intent behind the chemicals and their potential use in bomb-making.

In another absurd statement, DMK Environment Wing Secretary Karthikeya Sivasenapathy attempted to justify the absence of Chief Minister MK Stalin from the site of the Coimbatore bomb blast by drawing a false comparison with the 9/11 terror attacks in the United States. But that too was a false justification and was quickly debunked.

DMK’s Mouth Piece – Sun News

Not only did the DMK downplay terror incidents, but even its mouthpiece news channel, Sun News, failed to report such incidents, both domestically and abroad, as terrorist attacks. For example, when a terrorist attack occurred in Moscow on 22 March 2024, where at least 60 people were killed and over 100 injured in a shooting at a concert venue, Sun News similarly minimized the gravity of the event referred to the Coimbatore blast as a “shooting at concert venue.”

CNN reported that ISIS took responsibility for the attack in a brief statement released by the ISIS-affiliated news agency Amaq on Telegram on 22 March 2024.

An hour later they make another post updating the above stating that “Moscow shooting incident – death toll rises to 60!”

There is no mention of the ISIS even though the news that ISIS claimed responsibility has been reported worldwide; the news channel following its typical playbook made the act of terror look like a trivial incident, thus enabling terrorists.

On 7 February 2024, Sun News conducted an interview featuring three terrorists implicated in the 1998 Coimbatore blast case. In the interview, these terrorists openly expressed admiration for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the DMK government. The terrorists, who seemed to have no remorse for their past actions, have since gained widespread attention on social media. The video, with all the background music, makes one think the terrorists were actually wronged by the justice system.

Reporting The 2022 Coimbatore Blast

Back in 2022 when the blast occurred in Coimbatore just a day before Deepavali, not one channel from local mainstream media including Sun News reported that the Coimbatore car blast was indeed linked to terrorists. Despite confirming this information with Tamil Nadu Police sources, an independent journalist Saikiran Kannan was surprised to find that none of the state’s media channels reported on these significant connections – that those arrested initially were connected to the 1998 Coimbatore bomb blasts.

Upon delving deeper into the matter and engaging with senior journalists and media professionals in Tamil Nadu, he discovered that reporting the Coimbatore blast as a terror incident brought immense pressure from state government agencies. There were requests to tone down the reporting, with the government initially referring to it as a car cylinder explosion. Channels like Sun News also used the same kind of reportage when it came to the bomb blast.

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi – Ally of the DMK

Vanni Arasu, the Deputy General Secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), came under fire for defending individuals linked to the banned extremist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT). The group is accused of involvement in terrorist recruitment and radicalization efforts, and several people, including Dr. Hamid Hussain  and his family members, were arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for allegedly propagating extremist ideologies.

Arasu took to social media platform X  to argue that the individuals being investigated were innocent and had no connections to terrorism. He urged the Tamil Nadu government to intervene and prevent the case from being transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Arasu’s statements have drawn sharp criticism, with many accusing him of supporting terrorism.

The arrests followed an investigation by the Chennai Central Crime Branch that uncovered a connection to Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a radical Islamist organization advocating for the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate. Among those arrested was Dr. Hamid Hussain, a petroleum engineer and professor at Anna University, who was allegedly involved in organizing secret meetings and spreading extremist views through various platforms, including YouTube. Authorities also uncovered links to the Modern Essential Educational Trust (MEET), which is suspected of hosting radical meetings.

Despite these developments, Arasu defended the accused individuals. He argued that the views expressed by Dr. Hussain and his associates were not violent or directly linked to terrorism, stating that the organization was not banned in India. He further claimed that the ideological stance of the accused, while controversial, did not justify their arrests.

This incident is not unprecedented. Vani Arasu and the VCK have previously encountered criticism for advocating parole for an individual implicated in the Coimbatore bombings until his eventual release, urging the Tamil Nadu government for his release. Vani Arasu declared, “We met elder Badshah who has been released from Coimbatore jail on bail at his residence. He demanded that he should be granted parole till his release. We request Government of Tamil Nadu immediately to take a bold decision without expecting the Governor on the release of life prisoners. Not just a Viduthalai-Islamic community; but Tamil Nadu is waiting.”

Coimbatore Bomb Blast Convict Who Felt Secure After DMK Came To Power

On 7 February 2024 , Sun TV, affiliated with the DMK family, conducted an interview featuring three terrorists implicated in the 1998 Coimbatore blast case. In the interview, these terror perpetrators openly expressed admiration for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the DMK government. The terrorists, who seemed to have any remorse for their past actions, has since gained widespread attention on social media. The video, with all the background music, makes on think the terrorists were actually wronged by the justice system.

In the video, one Mohammed Ibrahim expresses happiness that he has come out of prison after 25 years of distress and will now be able to live with his family.

I convey my heartfelt gratitude to those who fought for our freedom – including social organizations, political parties and other outfits” and goes on to name Islamist outfits like Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), SDPI, (Social Democratic Party of India – a subsidiary of the banned terror outfit Popular Front of India), Muslim League, Thamimum Ansari’s Manidhaneya Jananayaga Katchi, Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat etc. He also names I.N.D.I. Alliance parties namely Congress, VCK and also Naam Tamilar Katchi.

I prayed to God. We were so happy that what couldn’t be done by many governments, the DMK government did it“, Ibrahim said.

Another terrorist Shahul Hameed said “After the DMK government came, our release was brought to the attention of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. He only took cognizance of our requests and helped in our release. He repeatedly assured to release us and was of support throughout. Only after the regime change and the DMK government came to power, we got hope of our release.

Five-Fold Increase In India-Russia Bilateral Trade: Russian Deputy PM

Five-Fold Increase In India-Russia Bilateral Trade: Russian Deputy PM

Russia and India are charting a bold new economic course as Moscow pushes for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India amidst a booming five-fold trade surge. With nearly 90% of transactions now in national currencies and fresh opportunities from energy to space exploration, the partnership signals a strategic shift towards deeper economic and technological ties.

Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on Tuesday confirmed Moscow’s intentions to conclude an FTA between the Eurasian Economic Union and India — as well as a bilateral agreement on services and investments — while spotlighting that the volume of mutual trade between the two countries has grown more than five-fold over the past five years, including by nine per cent in the first eight months of the current year.

As the Russian Deputy PM co-chaired the 25th meeting of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission in New Delhi along with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar, Manturov also drew attention to the importance of expanding cooperation between Indian and Russian banks, mentioning that the current share of settlements in national and alternative currencies has reached almost 90 per cent.

What is important is that this growth is accompanied by diversification of the structure of mutual trade. Along with traditional supplies of energy resources and mineral fertilizers, we have increased food exports, primarily sunflower and soybean oil,” the Russian leader said at the meeting, according to a statement released by his office in Moscow.

“In turn, Russia, in addition to purchasing agricultural products, imports industrial equipment, components, medicines and substances from India. The tasks of further expanding the product range and reducing the imbalance in trade will be enshrined in the programme for the development of economic cooperation until 2030,” Manturov stated. The India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) serves as the highest-level forum for bilateral economic collaboration between the two countries, encompassing a broad range of areas from trade to cultural exchange.

Russia’s PMO revealed that special attention at the meeting was paid to the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, engine building and microelectronics, chemistry, metallurgy, digital technologies, railway engineering, as well as in the field of space exploration. “We see opportunities for expanding the supply of equipment and components to support the Indian national manned space program ‘Gaganyaan’. Projects in the field of satellite navigation are at an advanced stage,” Manturov said. The meeting also discussed cooperation in the humanitarian fields, in particular in the field of higher education with Manturov emphasising the need to simplify the procedure for mutual recognition of educational documents and academic degrees.

In addition, the possibility of training Indian specialists based on Russian secondary vocational education programmes with the prospect of their subsequent employment at Russian enterprises is also being worked out by Moscow and New Delhi. The two countries are working to intensify cooperation in the field of culture and tourism and create a separate working group on the issue within the commission. “It is no less important to coordinate efforts in the transport sector. We are interested in expanding direct air traffic between our countries. Flights are currently carried out only by Russian Aeroflot, which operates 12 regular flights per week.

We expect an increase in the frequency of flights, the development of the route network, as well as the resumption of flights by Indian air carriers,” said the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

Following the meeting, Manturov and EAM Jaishankar signed the final protocol of the 25th meeting of the IRIGC-TEC. The visiting Russian Deputy PM also called on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, discussing issues of interbank and credit-financial cooperation, as well as prospects for concluding an intergovernmental agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments.

Karnataka BJP Slams Siddaramaiah Over Contract Muslim reservation

Karnataka BJP on Tuesday slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over allegedly providing reservation in contracts for Muslims. “Do you have any sense of integrity or ethics,” said Karnataka Leader of the Opposition (LoP) R Ashoka, adding, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, you openly deny that there is any proposal before the government to reserve contracts for Muslims as if striking a blow at the truth. What can we say about your blatant dishonesty.”

The Karnataka BJP leader added that Siddaramaiah’s political secretary, Naseer Ahmed, along with Minister for Waqf and Tourism Zameer Ahmed Khan and other Muslim MLAs, sent him a letter on August 24, 2024, requesting a 4 per cent reservation for Muslims in contract works.

On the same day, you instructed the Finance Department to review and submit this proposal. Additionally, you approved an amendment to the KTPP Act regarding this matter. Despite all these letters and approvals, you lie, claiming there’s no proposal for Muslim reservation in contracts before the government. Do you have any sense of integrity or ethics,” he said.

Reports of an alleged proposal to provide reservation in the allotment of contracts by the Karnataka government to Muslims have stirred controversy ahead of the by-polls to three Assembly segments. However, the news has been denied by the Chief Minister’s Office. Reacting to the reports, the CMO clarified on Tuesday that there was no proposal before the government to provide reservations for Muslims in allotment of contracts and termed it as false news.

There has indeed been a request for reservations in allotment of contracts, but it has been clarified that there is currently no such proposal before the government,” the CMO stated.

Sources claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has consented to a 4 percent reservation for Muslims in government contracts under Category 2B in constructions of not more than Rs 1 crore. Sources said that the state government is preparing to amend the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act to facilitate the reservation for Muslims.

India At Take-Off Stage Of Development With Young Population, Robust Infra Growth: Mark Mobius

India At Take-Off Stage Of Development With Young Population, Robust Infra Growth: Mark Mobius.

India is now at the take-off stage of development where the young demographic with higher productivity, digitisation of the economy, and a robust infrastructure growth will help the country become a major global economy in the years to come, Mark Mobius, of Mobius EM Opportunities Fund, said on Tuesday.

India remains the world’s fastest-growing economy with investment and private consumption driving growth. The IMF retained India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecasts at a robust 7 per cent and 6.5 per cent for FY25 and FY26, respectively. Mobius told IANS that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ and ‘Make in India’ programmes continue to maintain the momentum. “India also has to accelerate infrastructure spending and development, along with keeping regulations that benefit productivity and further getting rid of excess bureaucracy,” the ace investor stressed.

The growth story remains intact as its fundamental drivers – consumption and investment demand – are gaining momentum. The RBI has forecast that the country is likely to see real GDP growth at 7.2 per cent for FY 2024-25. Prospects of private consumption, the mainstay of aggregate demand, look bright on the back of improved agricultural outlook and rural demand. According to Mobius, the stock market reflects the pickup in the economy and the growth of the economy. “There will be periods when the stock market corrects downwards but this will be temporary. The general bullish trajectory is in place.”

According to him, consumers with per capita incomes are moving up and aspirations are rising. “The consumer market will be very, very important going forward. You have to align it with what’s happening in the US, or what has happened in the US. You can see the consumer market is huge and drives the economy to a great extent. This is the same case with India,” Mobius told IANS.

According to the RBI, domestic growth has sustained its momentum, with private consumption and investment growing in tandem. Rural consumption spending is rebounding due to moderating inflation, specifically in food. Mobius said that going forward, there will be greater urbanisation in India, which means much more consumption than what we’ve seen in rural areas. “The high growth rate, over 7 per cent in real terms, and growing per capita income, puts India on an incredible path to greater prosperity and, probably becoming the largest economy in the world,” Mobius told IANS.
