Vedic Gurukulam-Trained Kerala Youth Govind Krishnan Joins ISRO As Scientist

When tradition meets technology, stories like that of Govind Krishnan M emerge, where deep-rooted cultural learning complements cutting-edge science. A native of Kannur, Kerala, Govind is set to join the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the premier arm of ISRO based in Thiruvananthapuram. Unlike his peers from the Vedic path who chose priesthood, Govind took a different route—one that merges ancient knowledge with modern space science.

There’s a common belief that Vedic education restricts career growth or doesn’t align with science,” Govind reflects. “But my journey shows that both can coexist. With discipline and balance, it’s possible to embrace both spirituality and science.”

Govind’s educational path defies convention. After completing Grade 4 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Payyannur, in 2011, he left mainstream schooling to join a gurukula at Bhramaswam Madham, Thrissur. Over four intensive years completing a five-year course in less time he immersed himself in Vedic study.

The decision to pursue Vedic education was influenced by his father, Hareesh Kumar, a former Indian Navy officer who retired voluntarily in 2009. After years of relocating across naval bases in cities like Kochi, Mumbai, and Lonavala, the family returned to their hometown Kaithapram in Kannur. Govind’s sacred thread ceremony (upanayanam) took place while he was still in school, marking the beginning of his spiritual training.

The initial phase was challenging—I was away from home for the first time,” Govind recalls. “There were five of us in my batch, and we studied the Yajurveda. There were no textbooks or visuals—everything was passed down orally from the guru. It was a life of discipline.”

He attended a nearby government school only for exams, focusing primarily on Vedic learning. His day began at 5 a.m., packed with chanting, rituals, and a tightly scheduled routine. It wasn’t until the fifth year that he resumed regular schooling, enrolling in Vivekodayam Boys Higher Secondary School, Nadakkavu, for Grades 8 to 10—all while continuing his gurukula life.

His daily schedule remained intense: Vedic classes until early morning and late evening, followed by academic studies until nearly midnight. Despite this demanding routine, Govind scored top grades in his 10th board exams. He then left the gurukula and joined Alva’s College in Moodbidri, Mangaluru, for his higher secondary education, simultaneously preparing for competitive entrance exams.

Govind succeeded in clearing both JEE Main and Advanced, securing admission to the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram. He enrolled in the BTech Electronics and Communication program in 2021.

Even after leaving the gurukula, Govind continued his spiritual routines. “I maintain at least an hour a day for what I’ve learned,” he says. “Just like people go to the gym for physical fitness, I train my mind—for focus, clarity, and memory.”

While his batchmates pursued priesthood due to family traditions, Govind charted a new course. Though he knows basic rituals like Ganapathihomam and Thevaram, he clarifies that temple priesthood requires specific training beyond Vedic study.

Now, selected through ISRO’s Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), which includes rigorous testing and interviews, Govind is preparing to start his new role in July. He hopes to continue his spiritual practices even as he steps into his scientific career.

“In the future, I’d love to teach young minds what I’ve learned,” he says. “The Vedas have given me more than knowledge—they’ve given me strength and direction.”

Govind’s family remains rooted in humble aspirations. His father now works at a private bank in Kannur, his mother Suja is pursuing a BA in Music, and his twin sister, Gayathri, is employed as a physiotherapist in Mumbai.

Govind’s story stands as a powerful testament to how ancient Indian wisdom and modern science can not only coexist but thrive together.

Congress’s Fake News Factory: Twists Swiss Bank Data Into Political Propaganda To Target Modi Govt

The Congress, unable to find any real grounds to critique the BJP government, has stooped to running a “fake news factory.” Its official channels and ill-informed supporters now spread unchecked propaganda without verifying facts.

A glaring example, the party seized upon a Swiss National Bank headline—“Indian money parked in Swiss banks more than tripled in 2024, reaching 3.54 billion Swiss francs” — and spun it as yet another case of black money flight from India. However, a closer look at the report reveals a very different story.

Since 2014, Indian individual deposits in Swiss banks have actually declined, while valid interbank investments have surged. The Swiss National Bank report clearly differentiates between:

  1. Liabilities due to Indian banks – funds that Swiss banks owe Indian banks, an expected outcome of routine financial dealings.

  2. Individual Indian deposits – money held in personal accounts, often associated with black money concerns.

In 2024, liabilities owed to Indian banks rose dramatically from 427 million to 3,022 million CHF—reflecting normal banking activity, not illicit transfers. Meanwhile, individual deposits by Indian citizens dropped to just 346 million CHF, down nearly 80% from 1,656 million CHF in 2013.

The truth: Black money inflows have plummeted over the past decade. What increased was interbank activity—a legitimate financial trend. Congress’s portrayal of the headline isn’t merely mistaken—it’s intentionally misleading, marking yet another chapter in their long-standing playbook of distortion.

In claiming a surge in black money, Congress ends up looking foolish—caught with egg on its face.

Check below how Congress and its allies fabricate and fuel misleading narratives.

The Kerala Congress recently reposted a 2014 tweet from Prime Minister Modi proclaiming, “Why is Cong hesitant to bring back black money? Because they know who it belongs to…NDA will bring back every Paisa that is stashed abroad.” They followed up by alleging, “Swiss Banks had 7,000 Cr from Indian depositors in 2017 and now it is just 37,600 Cr. The world-class scamster who came to power after promising to bring back ‘every Paisa’ has ended up parking more money in tax havens.”

In another piece of opportunistic messaging, they mocked the PM-CARES fund, writing, “If you’ve paid using this QR code, you’ve a small share in the Swiss Bank deposits or other tax havens of 37,600 Cr. Feel proud!”

Meanwhile, UWC Congress circulated an old video of Modi with the mocking caption, “All talks, No show…Only Multiply! They promised to bring back black money. Instead, they sent more… straight to Swiss banks!”

Another DMK sympathizer echoed the congress sentiments and peddled,  “Indian Black Money in Swiss Bank in the Past 7 Years :- 2017 : ₹6.8K Cr 2018 : ₹7K Cr 2019 : ₹6.6K Cr 2020: ₹20.7K Cr 2021 : ₹30.5K Cr 2024 : ₹37.4K Cr (Highest) 11 years ago, a person fooled the entire Nation that he will bring back the black money.”

These examples show a deliberate strategy cherry-picking figures, twisting headlines, and stoking outrage to nurture false narratives against the government.

Pakistan Court In Sindh Forces Hindu Families To Deposit ₹1 Crore Bonds To Reclaim Abducted Minor Children Converted To Islam So That They Don’t Become Hindus Again

In a disturbing development highlighting the growing dangers faced by Hindus in Pakistan, a court in Sindh province has ordered two Hindu families to post a security bond of PKR 10 million (approximately ₹1 crore) each before they can regain custody of their minor children—who were allegedly abducted and forcibly converted to Islam.

This case reveals how the Pakistani judiciary is effectively enabling forced conversions by granting legal cover to radical elements. The ruling sends a clear message: abduction and coerced conversion of non-Muslims can proceed with minimal consequence when wrapped in legal proceedings.

The incident occurred in Sanghar district, where three Hindu sisters and their male cousin vanished earlier this year. The families promptly filed missing person reports, suspecting foul play. Police located the children living with Muslim families and reported that they had converted to Islam. The families maintained that the conversions were made under duress.

Court Ruling and Shock Clauses

When the case was brought before the court

  • Diya and Jiya, the two female cousins, were declared adults. The court ruled they could not be compelled to reunite with their families, citing “free will.”

  • Dashina and Harjeet, the younger minor cousins, were recognized as underage. However, though acknowledging parental rights, the court demanded that each family post a PKR 10 million bond. This bond supposedly ensures they will not attempt to reconvert the children back to Hinduism.

In effect, the court is financially penalizing families for affirming their religious identity.

The Sanghar ruling starkly underscores how minorities in Pakistan are being targeted through a combination of abduction, forced conversion, and judicial coercion. By mandating hefty security deposits before families can recover their children, the court is institutionalizing religious persecution. This conditional reinstatement of custody sets a dangerous standard—sanctioning apartheid under the guise of judicial propriety.

For The News Minute, Patriarchy Is The Sole Reason Behind Raja Raghuvanshi Murder, Not Sonam

The News Minute recently published a video podcast “South Central” and if one listens to this episode, it is sure to leave one speechless for the kind of discussions the speakers – Dhanya Rajendran & Pooja Prasanna have. In this article, we focus on the “angle ignored in Sonam Raghuvanshi case”. Note that it is not Raja Raghuvanshi murder case but Sonam Raghuvanshi case – as if Sonam is the victim.

As you listen in to the podcast, you realise, oh yes, Sonam is the victim, but of whom? Drum roll (but no prizes for guessing) – Patriarchy!!

So, by the end of the episode, were you naive you are highly likely to come away thinking that patriarchy is the real killer —more so than the wife who confessed to planning and executing her husband’s murder with her lover.

“It’s Never Just A Crime—It’s A Symptom Of The System”

This is the central thesis repeated throughout the episode. Dhanya Rajendran says, “We have to look beyond that on the circumstances which makes a newly married woman actually murder her newlywed husband than to stand up for herself.” On the surface, this sounds reasonable. After all, India’s social fabric is riddled with these problems. But here’s the problem: Sonam Raghuvanshi confessed to planning the murder. She didn’t just passively suffer under patriarchy—she actively chose to kill her husband.

By framing the story primarily as a “patriarchy problem,” The News Minute effectively shifts blame away from the perpetrators. It’s as if the wife and her lover are victims of circumstance, rather than criminals who made a cold, calculated decision. One panelist even questions, “What drives a woman to such extremes?”—as if the answer lies solely in oppressive social structures, ignoring the agency, motive, and responsibility of the accused.

The Hypocrisy of Selective Outrage

Imagine if the genders were reversed. If a husband had murdered his wife to be with his girlfriend, would the media be scrambling to explain his actions as a result of “societal expectations”? Or would they (rightly) call it cold-blooded murder?

The truth is, feminism is about equality—not excusing female criminals while demanding maximum punishment for male ones. Dhanya quotes an article by some Priya Ramani on The Quint, titled “Meghalaya Murder Is What Happens When You Criminalise Love In India” blaming Sonam’s parents also for the crime. Dhanya says, “It’s not just Sonam Raghuvanshi who should be blamed for the crime that she allegedly did, but it’s also her parents, it’s also society which does not allow her to choose her partner.”

But this logic is absurd. Millions of women face arranged marriages—they don’t resort to murder. If Sonam was unhappy, she could have protested in such a way she could convince her parents not to proceed with the marriage, she was financially independent. If all this failed, she could have left Raja Raghuvanshi’s life or sought a divorce instead of plotting and staging a honeymoon murder!

By suggesting that patriarchy “made her do it,” Dhanya and her gang are essentially arguing that women lack agency—which is actually insulting to women everywhere.

What’s most disturbing is how quickly people like Dhanya sensationalize crimes against women but downplay or excuse female perpetrators. When a man kills his wife, it’s “toxic masculinity” or “patriarchal entitlement.” When a woman kills her husband, suddenly it’s “society’s fault” and once again “patriarchy.”

This isn’t feminism—it’s hypocrisy.

Caste & Honour Killing

Dhanya and Pooja then come to the second, if not equally favourite topic of discussion after patriarchy – Caste. They point out that Sonam’s family belongs to the Rajput community, while her lover, Raj, is from an OBC community. According to them, this difference in caste, along with class distinctions (Raj was also Sonam’s employee), created a situation where Sonam was not allowed to choose her own partner and was instead forced into marriage with Raja Raghuvanshi.

Dhanya compares this murder to “honour killings”. She says, “This is the first time perhaps in the recent past that we have seen a woman plotting this kind of a murder. But this happens all the time right, we call them honor killings. I personally have a huge problem calling them honor killings because those murders have nothing to do with honor, but those killings whether it’s caste killings or dishonor killings – those are mostly done by the families where a man and a woman perhaps coming from two different castes or two different religions marry each other, one family does not approve and we do see quotations being given, murders being committed by the family members themselves, perhaps this one made a lot more headlines because it was the not the family, but the woman who plotted the murder.”

How does Sonam killing her newlywed husband equal or even comparable to honour killing?

Both speakers go on to argue that these caste and class barriers are integral to understanding the context in which the crime occurred, suggesting that the inability to marry across caste lines and the resulting forced marriage set the stage for the tragedy. Mindblowing stuff, right?

Agency Erased, Accountability Diluted

Sonam’s confession and the police investigation clearly establish her role in the murder. Yet, Dhanya and Pooja repeatedly circle back to systemic issues, sometimes at the expense of the victim’s story and the truth of the crime. But here’s the inconvenient truth: the crime was planned, executed, and covered up. The wife and her lover fled, only surrendering when the net closed in. This is not a spontaneous act of desperation forced by patriarchy; this is premeditated murder. To obscure this fact by focusing on “patriarchy” as the root cause is to dilute justice.

The Danger Of Over-Contextualizing

Context matters. No one is denying that. But when context becomes a shield that excuses or rationalizes criminal behavior, it becomes a problem. The News Minute’s approach honestly infantilizes women, denies them moral agency, and ultimately reinforces stereotypes that women are helpless victims of their environment.

If patriarchy truly explains this murder, then what about the lover? What about the conscious decisions made by both individuals? The podcast barely addresses these questions. Instead, it leans heavily into the narrative that “patriarchy made her do it,” which feels less like analysis and more like a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Justice For The Victim?

Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder deserves more than sociological speculation. It deserves justice. The victim’s life was brutally cut short by people who chose to commit a heinous crime. Portals like The News Minute prioritize abstract social debates over the facts of a case, they risk sidelining the victim’s story and the demands of justice – because it is important for them to make everything about patriarchy and caste.

The question is not whether to judge Sonam why she committed the crime, but how to ensure that justice is served fairly and fully. Blaming patriarchy instead of the murderers does neither.

Murder is murder, regardless of the perpetrator’s gender or background. By shifting blame to “patriarchy,” the media is doing a disservice to real victims of oppression while giving a free pass to a calculated killer.

It’s acold-blooded crime and just that. And no amount of woke rhetoric should change that.

Sitaare Zameen Par Review: Good For Nothing – Aamir Khan Redeems Himself Partially In This Preachy And Predictable Film With Stale Storytelling

Aamir Khan, Bollywood’s perennial perfectionist, has had a rough patch with back-to-back disappointments in Thugs of Hindostan and Lal Singh Chaddha. The latter, in particular, saw him lean into an over-the-top performance that left audiences cringing. In Sitare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, Aamir steps back from that exaggerated style, delivering a more restrained act. But Aamir, please stop raising your eyebrows to let us know that you’re acting.

The film, centered around a group of neurodiverse children and their mentor, aims to tug at heartstrings while delivering a feel-good narrative. It’s a premise that echoes Aamir’s own Taare Zameen Par, but Sitare struggles to capture that same emotional depth or the rousing inspiration of a Chak De India. Instead, it lands somewhere in the middle—pleasant but not profound, heartfelt but not unforgettable. The screenplay feels like it’s stuck in a time warp, with a predictable arc that might have charmed audiences a decade ago. In 2025, however, audience sensibilities have evolved, and the film’s old-school approach feels a tad out of touch.

The pacing doesn’t help. The story starts sluggishly, taking its time to introduce the specially-abled characters who are, without question, the heart of the film. Their extraordinary performances—raw, authentic, and brimming with life—steal the show, and director RS Prasanna deserves applause for coaxing such brilliance from them. In fact, a behind-the-scenes look at how the crew nurtured these performances might have been more compelling than the film itself. Yet, the delayed introductions make the audience wait too long for the story’s emotional core to kick in, and there’s no gripping hook at the intermission to keep you invested. RS Prasanna story-telling talent turns out to be ‘good for nothing’ in its failure to truly inspire.

Humor, a key ingredient in feel-good films, is a mixed bag here. Some scenes land well, tickling the ribs with genuine charm, but others try too hard, coming off as forced and flat. The bigger issue, though, is the film’s tendency to preach. Lines about man’s ego or the neurodiverse children being the “real teachers” feel heavy-handed, as if Aamir and team don’t trust the audience to get the point without spelling it out. In an era where subtlety is king, these moments of overt moralizing—especially the forced “gyan” on disability and what’s “normal”—feel dated and cringe-inducing.

Despite these flaws, Sitare Zameen Par isn’t a misstep on the scale of Aamir’s recent flops. It’s a step toward redemption, showcasing his ability to anchor a story with sincerity, even if the magic of his earlier classics remains elusive. The specially-abled cast is the film’s shining light, their performances a testament to Prasanna’s skill in bringing out their potential. But with a predictable narrative, uneven pacing, and a tendency to over-explain, Sitare doesn’t soar as high as it could. It’s a film that warms the heart but doesn’t quite set it ablaze, leaving you wishing for a spark that never fully ignites.

Alt News Co-Founder And Islamo-Leftist Propagandist Mohammed Zubair Deletes Old Inflammatory Tweet Showing Hindu’s Shikha Being Cut, Cries Foul About Being Taken Out Of Context

Islamo-Leftist propagandist Mohammed Zubair, cofounder of Alt News, faced backlash after an old tweet resurfaced and gained traction on X. In response to the controversy, he deleted the post and claimed it was being misinterpreted.

The tweet in question, originally posted in May 2018, featured a cartoon showing BJP leader Amit Shah portrayed as Chanakya, with his traditional Brahmin shikha (choti) being cut by a hand labeled ‘DKS’ holding scissors. Many online perceived the image as derogatory towards the Brahmin community. The post reignited criticism of Zubair, who has frequently targeted what he sees as communal sensitivities in Hindu beliefs while often downplaying similar concerns related to Islamic figures like Prophet Muhammad or historical figures such as Aurangzeb.

The tweet sparked widespread outrage, with several users demanding legal action. Lawyer Ashutosh Dubey called it a deliberate attempt to demean Brahmins and urged the Uttar Pradesh police to take notice by tagging their official handles.

Amid the growing criticism, Zubair took down the post and offered clarification, stating that he had merely shared a political cartoon by an independent artist. He said the cartoon was originally meant to reflect the political climate during the Karnataka elections of that year and is now being misrepresented.

Zubair further argued that the uproar was spreading misinformation and harming communal harmony. However, many countered that the real issue was the offensive depiction of a Brahmin symbol, as the act of cutting the shikha is seen as deeply disrespectful.

To limit further responses, Zubair also turned off replies to his post on X, preventing users from directly challenging his explanation.

Dravidianist Director Ameer Sultan Linked To Ex-DMK Drug Kingpin Jaffer Sadiq Says “Murugan Being Exploited For Political Gains”, Perarasu Hits Back At Him For Commenting On Hindu Faith

Tamil film director Perarasu has took a jibe at fellow Dravidian director Ameer Sultan for his comments regarding the upcoming Murugan Devotees’ Conference in Madurai. Perarasu questioned Ameer’s right to comment on Hindu religious matters, pointing out that Ameer, who follows a different faith, often aligns with DMK and its allies when criticizing Hindu practices under the guise of secularism.

Ameer, who recently participated in a human chain protest organized by the DMK’s ally VCK in Madurai, claimed the Murugan conference was an attempt to stir communal tensions. “Murugan is not our enemy; it’s those who exploit Murugan’s name for political gains who are the problem,” Ameer stated during the protest, emphasizing his opposition to what he called “Sanghi politics.”

In response, Perarasu, speaking to Tamil media, questioned Ameer’s authority to comment on Hindu religious affairs. “You are not a man to advice another religion and you should not. If you are a (practicing) Hindu with devotion to God, we might consider your perspective as a general opinion, but you follow a different religion and faith then what do you have to do Hindu matters?”

He also added that a Hindu who criticizes their own faith is considered an atheist. But someone who follows one religion and interferes in the practices or beliefs of another isn’t being secular they’re acting as a religious advocate with a bias. If there are issues within your own faith, speak about those. But offering unsolicited advice about someone else’s religion is unnecessary and inappropriate.

This remark was directed at Dravidianist filmmaker Ameer Sultan, who took part in a human chain protest in Madurai. The demonstration was organized by the Madurai Religious Harmony People’s Federation—a coalition comprising leftist groups, Islamic organizations, and human rights activists—in opposition to the Murugan Devotees’ Conference scheduled for 22 June in Madurai.

During the protest, Ameer stated, “Spirituality is something that always endures in people’s hearts. The religions may differ; it could be Hinduism, Islam, or Christianity. But that spirituality must remain with the people and should never fall into the hands of politicians. Murugan has been a deity long-revered by Hindu people. It’s dangerous for Sanghis coming from North India to try and appropriate the Murugan of Tamil Nadu. They’ve already designated a god for each state – Puri Jagannath, Ram, Hanuman, and various others. When you go to Kerala, it’s Ayyappan, and so on. They’ve already instigated religious riots in all those places. It hasn’t happened in Tamil Nadu yet, though they’ve tried and failed in some areas. Lastly, they’re trying to win over the people of Madurai, which is very dangerous. It’s our duty to state that Murugan belongs to the people, not to political parties.”

The Murugan Devotees’ Conference, scheduled for 22 June in Madurai, is being organized by the Hindu Munnani. Preparations are complete, and devotees have already begun to arrive. Prominent leaders including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan are expected to attend.

Ameer’s comments during the protest have sparked controversy and attracted criticism online on religious boundaries and selective secularism. Perarasu’s sharp retort adds fuel to the ongoing ideological clash between nationalist and Dravidianist voices in Tamil Nadu’s cultural and political discourse.

Are Microwave Weapons Behind Back-To-Back Ship Accidents In Arabian Sea To Sabotage Vizhinjam Port? India, Global Agencies Begin Joint Probe

International and Indian investigative agencies have initiated a joint inquiry into the suspected deployment of high-powered microwave (HPM) or electromagnetic pulse (EMP) devices in a recent series of maritime disturbances in the Arabian Sea.

Recent advancements by Turkey in electromagnetic warfare technology, particularly HPM systems capable of disrupting GPS and electronic navigation on ships and aircraft, have drawn attention. Authorities are now examining whether such technologies may have played a role in the maritime anomalies. As part of the probe, investigators are tracking irregular patterns in power consumption in areas where sabotage is suspected.

One such suspected technology is the Alka–DEW, a directed-energy weapon developed by Turkish defense firm Roketsan. The mobile unit, approximately the size of a compact vehicle, operates at power levels between 2.5 and 5 kilowatts and is capable of disabling electronic systems at ranges of 1,500 to 5,000 meters.

These weapons are not only capable of scrambling electronics but can also emit electromagnetic energy strong enough to ignite chemicals, raising further concern about their potential role in unexplained maritime incidents.

The growing number of cargo ship disruptions has prompted alarm within the international maritime insurance sector. The Joint Marine Insurance Committee, based in the U.S., has cited signs of EMP-like activity in several recent cases.

In response, a delegation from a European consortium of maritime insurers recently visited Kerala to assess the situation and gather on-ground intelligence related to the suspected use of such technologies in the Arabian Sea.

Back-To-Back Ship Accidents

On May 25, 2025, the Liberia-flagged MSC ELSA 3, carrying 640 containers, including 13 with hazardous cargo and 12 with calcium carbide, capsized 38 nautical miles off Kochi after departing Vizhinjam. The vessel sank due to flooding in one of its compartments, leaking fuel and scattering containers, some of which washed ashore. All 24 crew members were rescued, but the incident triggered environmental concerns due to potential oil spills and hazardous materials threatening Kerala’s biodiverse coastline. The Kerala government banned fishing within a 20-nautical-mile radius of the wreck and issued coastal alerts.

Just two weeks later, on June 9, 2025, the Singapore-flagged MV Wan Hai 503, en route from Colombo to Mumbai, reported an internal container explosion 144 km off Kerala’s Beypore coast, sparking a massive fire. Eighteen of the 22 crew members were rescued, but four remain missing. The vessel, carrying 2,128 tonnes of fuel and hazardous cargo, including nitrocellulose and ethanol, continues to burn, with salvage efforts underway to prevent an ecological disaster. The Indian Coast Guard and Navy, supported by Singaporean teams, are battling the blaze, but containers have drifted toward the shore, heightening environmental risks.

These back-to-back incidents have raised suspicions of foul play, particularly targeting Vizhinjam’s growing strategic importance. Central and international agencies, including a European consortium of marine insurers, are probing whether high-power microwave (HPM) or electromagnetic pulse (EMP) devices, such as Turkey’s portable Alka-DEW developed by Roketsan, were used to disrupt ships’ GPS and navigation systems. The Alka-DEW, capable of disabling electronics from 1,500 to 5,000 meters, could cause malfunctions leading to accidents without leaving physical traces. The US-based Joint Marine Insurance Committee reported evidence of EMP-level activity linked to recent mishaps, fueling concerns of deliberate sabotage to disrupt trade routes or undermine Vizhinjam’s operations.

Investigators are monitoring unusual electricity fluctuations in suspected sabotage locations, and maritime insurers have expressed alarm over rising claims. The probe, described as a response to a “significant escalation in maritime threats,” is exploring whether state or non-state actors are involved. Social media posts on X reflect public unease, with users questioning the rapid succession of accidents and their impact on India’s economic zone.

TN BJP Demands Unbiased Probe Into SC Youth’s Suspicious Death At Girlfriend’s Home As Her Relatives Are Linked To DMK, Police Rules Out Foul Play

sc youth suspicious death

Following the mysterious death of a Scheduled Caste youth in Kanyakumari, the Tamil Nadu BJP has called for an unbiased investigation, raising concerns over alleged political connections involving the deceased’s girlfriend’s family. The party urged the police to handle the case without favoritism, particularly in light of the reported links to the ruling DMK.

The young man, identified as Dhanush, was found hanging at the residence of a woman he was reportedly in a relationship with, in Kulasekaram on 19 June. Initial police reports suggest that the woman had recently ended contact with Dhanush, which may have played a role in the incident. Authorities have so far not found a suicide note at the scene.

Dhanush, who worked at an IT firm in Coimbatore, belonged to a Scheduled Caste community, while the woman was from allegedly Muslim community. Police say the family has not filed any formal accusations, and the investigation is ongoing.

However, BJP state president Nainar Nagendran has questioned the circumstances of Dhanush’s death, citing the woman’s alleged familial ties to DMK leaders. In a post on X, Nagendran emphasized the need for a fair and transparent probe, free from political influence.

He said, “A scheduled caste Hindu youth named Dhanush, who was in love with and about to marry a woman from a different religion in Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari district, has been mysteriously found dead, hanging. The fact that he was found hanging on the terrace of his girlfriend’s house has caused great suspicion and stir. Furthermore, with reports indicating that the woman’s close relatives are associated with the DMK, the question of whether this case will be properly investigated has arisen in everyone’s mind.

It is unbelievable that Dhanush, a well-educated young man working in an IT company in Coimbatore, would hang himself at his girlfriend’s house. Over the past four years, law and order in Tamil Nadu have deteriorated significantly, plumbing new depths. In particular, violence against Scheduled Caste individuals has reached brutal peaks under the current government. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the police to conduct a proper post-mortem examination in this case without any political interference and bring the truth to light. The Tamil Nadu police should not succumb to the DMK’s usual arbitrary approach given the close ties between the woman’s family and the DMK. The police should not act unilaterally with the intention of aiding the ruling party’s vote-bank politics. I urge the Tamil Nadu police to swiftly bring out the truth of this case without succumbing to the political pressure of the ruling DMK, with only a few months left until a change in government. I also want to state that @BJP4Tamilnadu will stand firmly with the family of the affected young man.”

In response to widespread media coverage and social media discussions surrounding the death of a 22-year-old man named Dhanush, the Kanniyakumari District Police have issued a formal statement, confirming that a detailed investigation is in progress.

Dhanush, son of Duraisamy and a resident of Cheruppaloor kavu vilai colony under the jurisdiction of the Kulasekharam police station, was found dead on the morning of 19 June 2025. His body was discovered hanging inside the home of a woman he was reportedly in a relationship with. Acting on a complaint filed by his father, Duraisamy (49), a case of suspicious death has been registered at Kulasekharam police station.

Amid growing speculation and rumors circulating in the media and on social platforms, the police clarified that, according to witness statements and digital evidence, Dhanush and the woman had been romantically involved for several years. However, following a recent fallout between them, the woman chose to end the relationship. Preliminary findings suggest Dhanush was emotionally distressed over the breakup and had attempted to reconcile, which the woman declined.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on 20 June 2025, at Asaripallam Medical College Hospital. Based on both the post-mortem report and initial police findings, authorities stated that there is currently no indication of foul play. The police have urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information or rumors while the investigation continues.

Kalakshetra Controversy: TNM’s Dhanya Rajendran Defends Not Covering Leela Samson Expressing Regret For Wrongly Linking A Female Student With A Male Teacher, Wrongly Claims Leela Referred to ‘Another Student’

the news minute kalakshetra issue leela samson regret

On 20 June 2025, The Commune called out the radio silence of Leftist-Dravidianist portal, The News Minute, on the Leela Samson ‘regret’ Facebook post for wrongly linking a female student with a male staff at Kalakshetra. When this was published on the X platform, a reader tagged TNM editor in chief, Dhanya Rajendran and asked, “would you like to comment on this? It was a topic you covered in some detail at that time.”

To this Rajendran replied, “If this is a genuine doubt. The complainant is a different person altogether. Has nothing to do with Leela Samson post, which was about a different student”

In response, another netizen who happened to be vocal during the time when the Kalakshetra issue was boiling over and the one who exposed the real reason why the accusations were being made, called out Rajendran’s lack of understanding. They wrote, “Surprised a journalist like you could fumble this badly. Your take shows zero grasp of the Kalakshetra issue—and even less interest in understanding it. Agenda over accuracy, clearly”. In another post, they wrote, “I think you should quit journalism because you have no clue about it.”

Maybe, we must educate Dhanya Rajendran once more and jog her memory.

How Is Leela Samson’s Regret Connected To The Kalakshetra Issue?

In December 2022, Leela Samson makes a Facebook post alleging sexual harassment by a male staff on minor students.

She continues to add comments in the same post dragging another student’s name into the mess. Soon after she deletes the post.

Now it is these additional comments where the real issue is hidden in – Leela unnecessarily drags a student (name masked) into the issue and defamed her needlessly.

While Samson deleted the post, the victim (the student whose name was mentioned in the original FB post) filed a defamation suit against her.

The Complaint

The complainant was a dance intern at the Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts (“RDCFA”) and has been associated with the institution for the past 7 years. The FIR states that the complaint pertains to the post made by Ms. Leela Samson, former director of the Kalakshetra Foundation on her Facebook profile in December 2022.

The post has been deleted but the complainant claims that it has brought ill repute to her name and upheaved her personal and academic life. She also accuses Samson of having written the post with a highly vindictive agenda.

The post made by Samson alleged that a male staff member indulged in acts of sexual harassment inside the campus. The alleged male staff member mentioned therein is one Mr. Haripadman who happened to be one of the complainant’s mentors and he had trained her for years together.

In the comments section of the now-deleted Facebook post made on 23 December 2022 by Leela Samson, the complainant says that various comments were made about the alleged misdemeanours committed by Mr. Haripadman and that what was particularly disconcerting was that her name was linked in an uncharitable manner with Mr. Haripadman in one of those comments on the Facebook post.

The comments said, “His victims are many. (Name hidden) had an abortion and wanted him to marry her. And so on. He had a mistress who is an intern – (name hidden) known to bully the younger students. Everyone knows. Junior students apparently ask the question – what do have to do to get a role in the concert section!”

The comment on the Facebook post mentions the complainant’s name (removed for anonymity), although misspelled makes an explicit reference to her and the FIR says that it has given rise to an immense upheaval of her personal and academic life. The contents of the comment, at first glance, besides being false and baseless, are patently derogatory, disparaging, and vituperative, which projects the complainant in an extremely disparaging manner, the FIR said.

The context, tone and tenor of Leela Samson’s post gives away that she had used the word “mistress” with a sexual connotation.

The reference to the complainant as a “mistress”, the FIR said, was an attack against her dignity and an affront to her modesty and as such attracts the provision of Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Now it is for this post that Samson posted a ‘regret’ message on her Facebook.

Leela Samson’s ‘Regret’ Post

On 15 June 2025, in a brief statement on her Facebook page, Samson wrote: “On December 23, 2022, I put a post on Athena, former student and presently Tutor at the Kalakshetra Foundation, on Facebook. I had wrongly mentioned her name in connection with a male faculty. I regret the error and no further comments will be made by me on her in the future.”

Samson’s admission comes after nearly two years of controversy stemming from her initial post, which alleged misconduct by a male teacher — Hari Padman — and inadvertently drew a student, into a scandal that disrupted her life and career. The student later alleged that the mention of her name, and its subsequent circulation in media reports and social media, had caused immense distress, mental agony, and damage to her reputation.

This ‘regret’ post came after the dispute was resolved recently through a mediated settlement following both civil and criminal complaints. The dragging of the student into the issue prompted the filing of a civil suit and related criminal charges. During the subsequent mediation process, as told to The Commune, Leela Samson expressed regret for her actions and agreed to do whatever was needed to make amends. This included putting up a public post on Facebook as a form of apology. In exchange for this, the complainant agreed to withdraw both the civil suit and the criminal case, effectively putting the matter to rest.

Before making the Facebook post, however, Leela took careful measures to control its visibility. She removed nearly all her friends from her account — reducing their number from approximately 2,000 down to just 5 — ensuring that the message would reach a limited and carefully curated viewership. Furthermore, as requested by the complainant, Leela made the post visible to the public while retaining this small number of friends. This tactic meant that the majority of her friends, and even many of her previous social media connections, remained oblivious to its content. In this way, the defendant was able to fulfill the terms of the agreement without broadly disclosing the details or drawing significant attention from her social circle.

As per the settlement, Leela Samson is to pay a total sum of ₹8 lakhs in two instalments — half upon withdrawal of the civil suit and the rest upon submission of a consent affidavit in the quash petition. The complainant also agreed to pursue quash proceedings before the Madras High Court.

The News Minute’s Coverage

The News Minute which doggedly reported the issue, in a biased manner, did not bother to report on Samson’s regret post. Now, Dhanya claims there is no connection to the Kalakshetra issue in the first place. Here is an article they published on how Leela Samson’s deleted Facebook post “cannot easily be discarded and that faculty Hari Padman was guilty of misconduct.”

So pray tell us how are both not connected – especially when Samson herself linked the student to Haripadman, the accused in the case and how her comments are important to the case itself, allegedly.
