Christian Missionaries encroach temple land near Ulundurpet to build church, hurl casteist abuse at villagers for opposing

At a village near Ulundurpet in Tamil Nadu, proselytizing Christians have been found building a church by encroaching a temple land and harassing the people of the village.

Irunthai is a small village near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district. Several members of the Adi Dravidar community of the village have been converted to Christianity. These converted Christians have been accused of encroaching the temple tank and canal belonging to the Murugan Temple and trying to build a church. The area where the last rites are being performed that belongs to the temple is also said to have been encroached.

This was brought to the notice of the local police as well as the revenue department but no action has been taken to remove the Church built on encroached land.

This had led to the converted Christians insulting the Hindu Adi Dravidars in the name of caste, and even resorted to attacking them. They had reportedly damaged the two wheelers of the Hindu Adi Dravidar community.

People from the Adi Dravidar community of the village have now filed a complaint with the government authorities and have submitted a memorandum to the District Collector saying that they were leaving the town as no action was being taken regarding this issue thus far.

Furthermore, there was a communal clash that took place between the converted Christians and other people of the village on the 31st of December. A complaint was filed by one Veerapandian following which Pichai Anthony Raj, Arputharaj, Aruldas, Jaggu, Anthonysamy, Gerlad Christy, and 16 other members who had caused unrest were arrested.

The Adi Dravidar community have complained to the District Collector that the converted Christians were threatening to falsely file a case against them, They demanded that action be taken against the attackers at the earliest. They also said that if there wasn’t appropriate action taken, they had no option but to hand over their Aadhaar card, voter ID card, ration card etc to the government authorities and leave the village.

Hindu Munnani have now pitched in to help the Adi Dravidar community get justice.

India signs a $105 million project with World Bank to boost WB waterways

The Government of India, the Government of West Bengal and the World Bank today signed a $105 million project to improve the inland water transport infrastructure in Kolkata, West Bengal. The $105 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), has a maturity of 17 years, including a grace period of 7 years.

The West Bengal Inland Water Transport, Logistics and Spatial Development Project will facilitate passenger and freight movement across the Hooghly river, undertake spatial planning to improve accessibility in the Kolkata Metropolitan Area, enhance the quality of life of its residents, and contribute to the growth of the state’s logistics sector.

The agreement was signed by Dr. C S Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Shri Rajdeep Dutta, Deputy Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal, and Mr Junaid Ahmad, Country Director – India, World Bank.

Indian officials said that the emerging inland waterways are a cost effective and an environment-friendly option for passenger and freight movementThis project would help improve the river transport infrastructure in West Bengal and help in the economic development of the state by connecting the hinterland with markets and job centers in Kolkata’s Metropolitan Area.

The project will cover the five most populous districts of southern West Bengal, including its urban agglomeration —the Kolkata Metropolitan Area (KMA), where around 30 million people or one-third of West Bengal’s population live.

The Hooghly river, a distributary of the river Ganga, in Kolkata separates the Kolkata port from its large consumption centers, which are, its wholesale market and its vast hinterland comprising the entire North East of India and the two landlocked neighboring countries of Nepal and Bhutan. More than 80 percent of freight and passenger traffic currently cross the river via Kolkata’s three bridges. To curtail congestion, the city has restricted the movement of trucks to the port to certain bridges and only during limited hours, reducing access to the port and increasing the cost of logistics.

West Bengal’s ferries can provide an efficient, flexible mode of public transport for both passengers and freight, saving on operating costs and travel time when compared with road journeys. The existing ferry system, operational for decades, caters to less than 2 percent of the passenger traffic and a small portion of the freight movement. Developing the river transport infrastructure will enable a large population of the state to utilize its waterways, have alternative, multi-modal options for transportation for both freight and passengers, connect the hinterland with Kolkata Metropolitan Area’s markets and job centers, and emerge as a logistics hub.

Former Nakkheeran reporter peddles fake news of elephant dying at Isha Foundation

For long, ‘activists’, ‘journalists’ and certain media house have been constantly reporting about Isha Foundation encroaching forests to build the Aadhi Yogi statue at the Isha Foundation. In another such instance, Siva, a former reporter from Nakkheeran posted on Twitter that a young male elephant died after coming in contact with an electric fence near the Adiyogi Siva statue.

He had posted four photographs of Isha’s volunteers who, he claims, had chased it and then died near the farmland of someone named Durai, tagging the names of some journalists.

A lot of the Twitterati who had replied to the post had confirmed that this was a distorted message. News reports by prominent media houses confirmed that the elephant was found dead near a private paddy field, located several kilometres away from the statue of Adiyogi.

Calling out the fake news peddled by the ‘public journalist’ as he claims to be, Isha Foundation lashed out saying that the ‘Hyena Activists’ are out again to spread fake news and damage Isha Foundation and Sadhguru’s reputation.

It is noteworthy to mention that Siva was expelled from Nakkheeran earlier.

They also said that Isha Foundation was working  with Forest Officials to educate farmers to use low-voltage solar pulse fences to harmlessly deter wild pigs and elephants from ruining the crops.

Instead of focusing on the real issue and seeing how to keep both humans and animals safe, these #HyenaActivists are trying to scavenge a pound of flesh for their vested interests. Trying desperately to somehow involve Isha Foundation.”, Isha Foundation tweeted.

Stalin’s latest gem: 2 crores x 5 = 20 crores

Adding to his bloopers series, DMK chief MK Stalin has come out with another new gem that is now going viral on social media.

Addressing the people at the ‘We Reject ADMK’ Gram Sabha meet organized in Nannilam as part of his campaign trail in Tiruvarur, Stalin was trying to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise on 2 crore jobs per year.

However, his criticism misfired as he struggled to get some math right.

“He [PM Modi] said he will give jobs to 2 crores.. err.. 20 crore people. Per year 2 lakhs.. err.. 2 crore jobs, then for 5 years? 20 crores jobs. Who declared? Modi. Has anybody got job from the Central government in this village?”, the DMK chief said.

This once again has now become a fodder for netizens triggering a series jokes and memes on the DMK chief who is known for his faux pas.

RSS chief releases book on ‘cultural terrorism’

On December 29, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat released Cultural Terrorism: Conflicts and Debates on Cultural Pasts, authored by Dr BS Harishankar. The book release event was held at Kesari Media Studies and Research Centre, Kozhikode, Kerala.

The book, brought out by Indus Scrolls Press, is a collection of 21 essays written by the author.

Dr Harishankar, in his book, talks of how the narrative on India’s past is being influenced by vested interested lobbies, especially by domestic and foreign NGOs run by Christian missionaries. The main focus of  the book is on “cultural terrorism” and on how various strategies are adopted to destroy Hindu culture by using archaeology, linguistics, and genetic studies. “Cultural terrorism” is the policy of attacking or destroying inherited cultural values and treasures. Many ancient civilisations were wiped out by both Christianity and Islam. Erasing these ancient cultures, including the present ones is termed as cultural invasion. This cultural invasion is viewed very seriously by the author, who likens it to a war crime. According to the author, ideological and armed attacks on culture are carried out because cultural terrorists know the power of culture in integrating people, rejuvenating society and blending conflicting diversities.

The nefarious role of the church-communist nexus in tampering historical and archeological evidence has been discussed elaborately. Archeological and genetic corroboration proving that Aryans did not come from outside into India are also presented in the book. The threat to cultural values and the identity of a nation through cultural terrorism looms large over India and other countries. The author’s work aims at giving its readers a timely warning in this aspect.

Migratory birds dead in Himachal Pradesh

Over 2,000 migratory water birds have been found dead so far in Himachal Pradesh. The endangered bar-headed goose made up half of the fatalities. Wildlife authorities have confirmed that bird flu caused by the H5N1 virus was the cause of death. Other birds that were found dead were the shoveler, the river tern, the pochard and the common teal.

Shocking: Family attacked, house set on fire for converting from Islam to Hinduism

A police complaint has been filed against five individuals, two of whom have been apprehended, for allegedly attacking a family and torching their house months after they had converted to Hinduism from Islam in Rae Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The police and the fire brigade team were able to douse the fire on time and save the family who were trapped inside the house.

Police have been deployed in the area.

Mohammed Anwar, resident of Ataganj Ratason village in the Salon area of Rae Bareilly, had converted to Hinduism in September of last year, and had changed his name to Dev Prakash. He had also renamed his children as Devnath, Deendayal and Durga. According to reports, Dev Prakash lives alone with his kids after the death of his first wife. He has married four times but his subsequent marriages did not work out.

Dev Prakash has alleged that former village pradhan Mohammed Tahir and his associates were upset with him for converting to Hinduism. He has further alleged that Tahir and his brother Rehan were the ones who set fire to his house. Dev Prakash also said that he was planning to build a temple on his land next to his house, and that this decision had angered some people.

Shlok Kumar, SP Rae Bareilly, has said that Tahir, Rehan and three others have been charged with mischief by fire or explosive substance and rioting. “Preliminary probe suggests that Prakash and Tahir also had a dispute over a piece of land. We are probing the case from all angles. Tahir and his brother have been detained and are being questioned,” he said.

After the incident was reported, leaders of Hindu Yuva Vahini reached the spot and took cognisance of the situation.

India to deploy long range nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni V capable of hitting any Chinese city

In the last three months of 2020, India launched 30 successful missions to test the capability of its missiles and now there are plans to deploy nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni-V this year, reports The New Indian Express.

Once inducted, the Agni-V will be India’s long-range nuclear deterrence with a strike range of 5,000 to 8,000 km which would mean India will be able to strike all the important Chinese cities, including Beijing.

Agni V will give India options to retaliate against any Chinese nuclear attack as laid out in the nuclear doctrine and is undergoing its pre-induction trials after which it can be deployed at strategic locations as selected by the armed forces.

This missile will also be canisterised which provides the necessary operational flexibility to the forces and canisterisation also allows the missile to be kept in a state of readiness, makes camouflaging the missile easier and permits rapid launch.

Since the missile will not be housed in any silos it is even more deadly because being a road-mobile launcher, the missile can be moved from one location to another as per operational need in times of heightened conflict to avoid detection by enemy satellites.

Such flexibility gives our civilian leadership and military commanders options on survivability in a preemptive or second strike.

Agni-V is a solid-fueled missile and offers the benefit of a quick response and it is easy to store and transport a solid-fueled missile longer storage.

However, fueling a liquid-fueled missile for launch takes more time and when not in use, the liquid fuel must be drained out from the missile due to its highly corrosive nature and must be stored separately which leads to other complications.
