L. Murugan urges TN government to disclose details of temple leases and rent arrears

Tamil Nadu BJP president L Murugan urged the state government to apply the Minimum Wage Act to all temple employees, including priests, as ordered by the Madras high court.

In a press statement, Tamil Nadu BJP President L. Murugan said:

“The BJP welcomes the orders of the Chennai High Court to protect temples and ancient monuments by setting up Mamallapuram World Heritage Site Management Commission within eight weeks. The 17-member panel will include representatives from the Archaeological Survey of India, historians, representatives of the Public Works Department (PWD), a Treasury official equivalent to the Joint Commissioner, and others.”

He further stated that according to the judgment no monuments, temples, statues, or sculptures declared by state or central laws can be modified without the consent of the committee, implying that the committee will be held liable for any harm to the monuments.

He added that the verdict directs the government to prepare a handbook covering guidelines for preserving and reconstructing traditional temples, non-traditional temples, monuments, and historical sites within the next 12 weeks.

He demanded that the Archeological Department create a website to upload details of temple assets and increase transparency. He said,” The Department of Archeology should inspect and appraise temples older than 100 years and create a website to inform the public about historical sites and temples in their area. The court ordered to use temple funds solely for temple maintenance, ceremonies, rituals, and other temple-related activities, and any excess cash be used for temple activities of other smaller temples.

“The government, through the HR&CE commissioner, is the trustee for the temple lands, and these properties should not be sold or transferred against the donors’ wishes. These properties should always be in the possession of the temple. The looting of temple lands will be avoided if these guidelines are followed.” he continued.

Within the court-mandated six-week period, he demanded that the website include information regarding temple properties, images of idols in temples, lease and rent arrears and efforts taken to collect them, and details of idols stolen from temples.

He also urged that the government implement the Minimum Wage Act for all temple employees, including priests, and that their pay be equal to those of government employees.

He concluded by saying,” I urge the government to come forward to implement all that is instructed in this landmark judgment.”

Stalin’s COVID mismanagement gets international attention, Australian MP and American doctor slam TN CM

In a special live broadcast on June 1 of the DarkHorse podcast, Dr. Bret Weinstein (Ph.D.) and Dr. Pierre Kory (M.D.) discussed the incredible story of the Ivermectin drug in controlling COVID, in which they criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for his irresponsible behavior during the pandemic.

In the recent broadcast, Dr.Pierre Kory praised the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for including Ivermectin in their treatment guidelines.

He added,” Some of the states in India went even further and they went much more aggressive. One of the boldest and uplifting moves was that of the Chief Minister of Goa, who recommended the use of Ivermectin for every adult over the age of 18 who was infected with corona. This is what I would have done if I were the Chief Minister of state.”

He went on to say that states like Goa and Uttar Pradesh took bold steps to help India reduce the number of COVID cases in the country.

Later, he slammed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for effectively outlawing Ivermectin and going all-in on Remdesivir, which he claims is the cause of the state’s increasing cases.

He also took a dig at MK Stalin’s name recalling the Russian Communist dictator Joseph Stalin who killed thousands of people.

“I don’t know why but his name is MK Stalin. I just have to mention that. So, Stalin in India outlawed Ivermectin and it is not going well for the citizens”, he said.

In another interview with Sky News Australia, Craig Kelly, Independent Federal Member for Hughes, Australia, also criticized MK Stalin for blocking Ivermectin drug in the state, claiming that it resulted in a rise in mortality and infection rates while every other state that used it experienced a decrease in COVID cases.

“There is one exception in India. It is the state of Tamil Nadu down the south where they have elected a new leader who goes by the name Stalin. People actually went to the ballot boxes and voted for a bloke called Stalin. He decided that Ivermectin wasn’t effective and basically blocked from the state. The death rate and infection rate have gone through the roof while every other state that is using it is seeing massive declines.” he said.

It also states that he has been provoking people of Scheduled Caste by making hateful statements against Hindu religion, scriptures and Gods on social media platforms.

Madras High Court questions HR&CE on missing 47,000 acres of temple land

Madras HC increased security in court campus after country bombs were exchanged among suspects in the Armstrong murder case. Christian shrine

The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department was questioned by the Madras High Court on Tuesday to explain the status of 47,000 acres of temple land that had gone missing from official documents.

A division bench of Madras High Court comprising Justice N Kirubakaran and Justice TV Thamilselvi were hearing a case seeking to help find temple land that had disappeared from government records.

The High Court remarked during the hearing that the policy note for 1984-85 stated that there were records for 5.25 lakh acres of land belonging to Hindu temples in the state, however, the policy note for 2019-20 only mentioned 4.78 lakh acres. Comparing the data presented in the two policy notes, the judges concluded that the 47,000 acres were missing.

Justices N. Kirubakaran and T.V. Thamilselvi then ordered the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department to file a counter affidavit by July 5 describing in detail the specific details and survey numbers of the lands mentioned in the policy note for the years 1984-85 and those mentioned in the most recent policy note.

The judges added that the HR&CE department should have no difficulty submitting the information in court because it was expected to have all of the details.

The interim orders were issued in response to a writ petition that demanded that the missing lands be recovered and returned to the temples that they belong to, so that the revenue generated may be utilized to sustain the institutions in addition to conducting prayers and ceremonies.

Christian educational institutions challenge “Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Amendment Act” in High Court

illegal church lrpf landgrab

Christian educational institutions in Gujarat have jointly filed a petition in the Ahmedabad High Court on June 7th, challenging the recent amendment to the “Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act” passed by the Gujarat Assembly, alleging that it violates article 30 of the constitution which guarantees the right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions.

On March 31, the Gujarat Legislative Assembly amended the “Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act,” mandating minority institutes to appoint only principals and teachers who have passed the TAT (Teacher’s Aptitude Test) in secondary and higher secondary schools administered by them.

Father Fernandes, secretary of Gujarat Education Board of Catholic Institutions and one of the petitioners challenging the amendment, said, ” Until now church-run educational institutions enjoyed the right to appoint non-teaching and teaching staff including the principal. They also framed rules and regulations for the administration of the institution and to discipline the students and staff. But the new law has withdrawn all such powers.”

He went on to say that 63 of the 181 schools managed by the Gujarat Education Board of Catholic Institutions receive government funding to pay teachers’ wages and that with the recent amendment, Christian leaders worry that all church-run schools may soon fall under state control.

However, Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the recent amendment is in accordance with Supreme Court and the Gujarat High Court judgments and that the requirement for appropriate qualification along with TAT examination for appointment of principals and teachers in minority educational institutions will improve the quality of education in the state.

Mahatma Gandhi’s great granddaughter imprisoned for defrauding businessman in South Africa

Lata Ramgobin, the great granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi has been sentenced to 7 years in prison in South Africa amidst defrauding allegations. The 56 year old was accused in a 6 million rand cheating case by a famous businessman, and was recently tried in court. She was found to be guilty on Monday and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

The trial against Lata started in 2015 for cheating a businessman of 6 million dollars. Following trials at that time, she was released by paying a bail amount of 50,000 rand.

The recent trial accused of cheating Maharaj, director of the New Africa Alliance Footwear Distributors, of 2.6 million rand. She had asked for a loan to him saying that she was importing linen. She was accused of having allegedly forged invoices saying that linen containers that she had ordered were being shipped in from India to South Africa in order to fool investors. This accusation was put forth by Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

“She said she was experiencing financial difficulties to pay for import costs and customs and she needed the money to clear the goods at the harbour,” NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara said on Monday.

“She advised him (Maharaj) that she needed R6.2 million. To convince him, she showed him what she claimed was a signed purchase order for the goods.  Later that month, she sent him what seemed to be a NetCare invoice and delivery note as proof that the goods were delivered and payment was imminent,” she said. Lata Ramgobin “further sent him confirmation from NetCare’s bank account that payment had been made”, Kara said.

Watch: Man marries for the 37th time in the presence of 28 wives, 35 children and 126 grandchildren

In a viral video, an old man is claimed to be getting married for the 37th time amidst the presence of his family.

The video doing the rounds on Twitter, has left many baffled with the man’s bizarre innings in life. It is not known where the incident happened but the attire worn by people in the video suggests that it must have happened in a country in the middle-east.

The 45-second clip was shared by IPS officer Rupin Sharma on Twitter with the caption, “BRAVEST MAN….. LIVING. 37th marriage in front of 28 wives, 135 children and 126 grandchildren.”

It is to be noted that this is not the first time that something like this has made the news. In 2020, the news of a man from Taiwan marrying and divorcing the same woman time after time for four times in a span of 37 days made the news and made many an eyeball pop.

This man had done so in order to get an extended paid leave, which was soon found out by the bank that he had been working for. Infuriated, they had only granted him 8 days of leave for his first marriage. Following this, he sued his employer and the bank was fined NT$20,000 (Rs 52,800) in October 2020.
