Ketto has been informed by the Indian law enforcement agencies that the funds that were collected was “not utilised for the purpose for which they were raised” and as of now, Ayyub is incommunicado.

The FIR was based on a complaint by a ‘Hindu IT Cell’ co-founder, who accused Ayyub of illegally acquiring public money in the name of charity, and the complainant Vikas Sankrityayan said that Ketto had sent a letter to those who had donated to Ayyub’s campaigns.

Abhay Kumar, Circle Officer, Indirapuram, said, “An FIR has been filed in Indirapuram police station for alleged misuse of donation funds. We will have to examine evidence since it involves another organisation.”

Ketto’s email, which was sent on August 27, said, “Ketto has been informed by the Indian law enforcement agencies that the funds (partly of fully) raised in the said campaigns were not utilised for the purpose for which they were raised and the funds (partly) are still in the accounts of the respective campaigns.”

According to Ketto, Ayyub had started three campaigns — for slum dwellers and farmers, relief work for Assam, Bihar, and Maharashtra, and help to those impacted by Covid-19 in India.

Ketto’s email added, “When enquired by Ketto, the campaigner has intimated that out of the total funds received (about 1.90 crores INR net) and 1.09 lakhs USD (net) for these campaigns (total around Rs 2.69 crore approx), only a portion has been spent (about 1.25 crores), and certain amounts have been or will be paid as taxes (about 90 lakhs). The balance funds, after these debits, are still retained by the campaigner.”

The FIR against Rana Ayyub has been registered under IPC sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 418 (cheating with the knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue to person whose interest offender is bound to protect), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), section 66D of the IT Act and section 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.

TN CM MK Stalin doesn’t wish for Vinayagar Chathurthi, had wished for Bakrid

As expected, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin did not wish the Hindu community on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi in line with the anti-Hindu stance of the DMK.

The DMK is known for its tirade against Hinduism which traces its roots to the anti-Hindu movement launched by E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his admirers).

While they claim to be ‘rationalistic’, their rationalism is only targeted against members of only one particular faith – Hinduism. They resort to blatant and covert appeasement towards members of the two major Abrahamic faiths – Islam and Christianity to consolidate their minority votebank.

Chief Minister Stalin who did not wish for Vinayagar Chathurthi had just a few weeks ago sent his wishes on the occasion of Bakrid.

Similarly, as Tamil people across the world celebrated Puthandu (Tamil New Year) the DMK chief did not extend wishes for the same but had sent wishes to people on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year.

Appealing to citizens in a video message, Sadhguru said, “You must understand you have been given the liberty to create a God and then dissolve a God. Please use only organic, dissolvable material. Turn Ganapathi into an eco-friendly force.” He added that this is “important for the preservation of this culture and the glorification of the great God that we call as Ganesha.”

He called on citizens to “pledge to celebrate him responsibly & with care,” in his Twitter message.

Syro Malabar Catholic Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt raises Love Jihad again, Muslim groups in Kerala want him arrested

The powerful and influential Syro Malabar Church has sounded the alarm of “Love Jihad” again in the communist state of Kerala and Catholic bishop Joseph Kallarangatt on Wednesday (September 8) said Muslims use love-jihad and narcotic-jihad to end the non-Muslims.

“They’ve realised that in a nation like India, taking up weapons & destroying others isn’t easy, they’re using other means. Their aim is to promote their religion & end non-Muslims. They use ‘love jihad’ & ‘narcotic jihad,” ANI quoted Pala (Kerala) Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt.

He added, “Jihadis, through love or other means, use women from other religions for misusing, for terrorist activities, or for economic gains. Those trying to prove that there’s no ‘love jihad’ are trying to feign ignorance. It’s not just a love marriage, it’s a war strategy.”

“There is a plan going on to forcefully bring in Muslim thoughts and all Catholics should be aware of this and be watchful,” said Kallarangatt.

The bishop also said that narcotics are being used to destroy the non-Muslims. “The narcotic jihad is the activity of spoiling the life of non-Muslims, particularly youths, by making them addicted to drugs…Various types of drugs are being used in ice-cream parlours, hotels and juice corners run by hardcore jihadis. They are using various types of drugs as a weapon to spoil non-Muslims”, bishop Joseph said.

He added, “The rave parties, which promote use of narcotics, and the drugs being seized from such events have presented this fact before us. We see a lot of people among us who lost their jobs or abandoned studies after they became drug addicts.”

However, this has not gone well with the powerful Muslim lobby in the state which forced Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to relax Covid norms so Ed could be celebrated which has ensured Kerala has the highest number of Covid infections and deaths in the country. That is why the Muslim Coordination Committee at Kottayam filed a petition demanding registering a non-bailable case for Kallarangatt remarks.

But in a strange turn of events, Congress-working president and senior legislator P T Thomas said, “Statements like these are dangerous and send wrong signals and the best thing one can do is none should do anything which will act as a fuel for creating unrest,”.

TN Police seize Vinayagar idols kept for sales in Tenkasi district, hands them over after public outrage

The Tamil Nadu police confiscated Lord Vinayaga idols that were kept for sale on the roadside in Puliyangudi, Tenkasi district and took them to the police station. The idols were handed back following a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The DMK government led by MK Stalin has banned the celebration of Vinayagar Chathurthi in public places. Installation of Vinayagar idols and procession has been banned which has come under severe criticism from Hindu organizations.

The state government had issued directions in which it ‘allowed’ people to celebrate the festival in their homes.

In light of this, a man from Madhya Pradesh was selling Ganesha idols on the roadside in Puliyangudi, Tenkasi district. At that time, the Puliyangudi police who patrolled the area confiscated the idols and loaded them in a police vehicle.

Those nearby asked the police the reason for confiscating to which he replied “Ask the police inspector about this. He is in the police station.”

One of them recorded the video and spread it on social media which started going viral.

When asked about this, Inspector Rajaram reportedly said that the idols have been brought by the police as a preventive measure and that they have been returned to the owner.

EVR who demanded separate Dravida Naadu and called Aug 15 as Black Day considered as ‘freedom fighter’ by Doordarshan

In a blatant distortion of history, the name of E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his admirers) has been found in the list of freedom fighters prepared by Doordarshan Kendra and All India Radio Chennai for production of programmes for ‘Azadi Ka Amrimahotsav’ marking the the 75th year of independence.

The list comprising of 75 freedom fighters mentions ‘Periyar E.V. Ramasamy’ in the fifth place while pushing the actual freedom fighters like Vanchinathan, Tirupur Kumaran, Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Subramania Siva to 15th, 16th, 18th and 20th positions respectively.

The list leaves out many of the prominent freedom fighters of the region like ‘Jai Hind’ Chempakaraman Pillai, Veeramangai Kuyili, Va.Ve.Su. Iyer, etc.

E.V. Ramasamy Naicker is a rabid anti-Hindu bigot known for his pro-British stance when the Indian Freedom Struggle was its peak. He pleaded with the British to not leave India and pledged allegiance to them asking the Madras Presidency to be ruled from London. He even went to the extent of demanding a separate Dravida Naadu and had met Mohammad Ali Jinnah regarding the same.

Another personality mentioned in the list having no connection with the freedom movement is Marshal Nesamony. Marshal Nesamony hails from the Travancore kingdom and was never in the freedom movement against the British. He was part of the movement to annex Kanyakumari district to Tamil Nadu from the Travancore State at the later stage after opposing the same initially.

The Vedic Science Research Centre, a research think-tank from Chennai has written to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to correct the glaring fallacy.

Australia to cancel test match with Afghan men’s team over Taliban banning sports for women

After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and the new theocratic Islamic regime declared that the Islamic Emirate will not allow women to play sport, it is most likely that the first Test match between the men’s teams of Australia and Afghanistan will be called off.

Taliban government’s cultural commission, Ahmadullah Wasiq, told Australian broadcaster SBS News that cricket was not permitted for women under Islamic law and, “Islam and the Islamic Emirate do not allow women to play cricket or play the kind of sports where they get exposed. “In cricket, they might face a situation where their face and body will not be covered. Islam does not allow women to be seen like this. It is the media era, and there will be photos and videos, and then people watch it.”

He then added that the Islamic regime will not change its stance on the women’s game even if that means the cancellation of the Hobart Test: “Even for this, if we face challenges and problems, we have fought for our religion so that Islam is to be followed. We will not cross Islamic values even if it carries opposite reactions. We will not leave our Islamic rules.”

Immidietlay a statement released on Thursday (September 9), by Cricket Australia confirmed it would be unable to proceed with the planned Test at Hobart from November 27 and the statement read, “Driving the growth of women’s cricket globally is incredibly important to Cricket Australia,” the statement said. “Our vision for cricket is that it is a sport for all and we support the game unequivocally for women at every level. If recent media reports that women’s cricket will not be supported in Afghanistan are substantiated, Cricket Australia would have no alternative but to not host Afghanistan for the proposed Test Match due to be played in Hobart,”.

Australia’s Federal Sports Minister Senator Richard Colbeck urged the International Cricket Council to take a stand against the Taliban and during an interview with ABC Radio on Thursday, Senator Colbeck said, “The Taliban’s attitudes towards women and their individual rights should not be accepted by the international sporting community,”.

“Excluding women from the sport at any level is unacceptable. We urge international sport authorities, including the International Cricket Council, to take a stand against this appalling ruling. At the end of the day, International Cricket is controlled by the ICC and it’s not just about this Test match. The ICC is going to have to make a decision about Afghanistan’s membership.”

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) expressed concern over the Taliban regime’s ban on women in sports that could foreshadow further events after the completion of the T20 World Cup.

Also, to hold full-member ICC status, nations must field both men’s and women’s teams and in lew of the Taliban banning women’s cricket, the Afghanistan men’s team’s involvement in the T20 tournament in the UAE and Oman is now under question.

“The ICC is committed to the long-term growth of women’s cricket and despite the cultural and religious challenges in Afghanistan, steady progress has been made in this area since Afghanistan’s admission as a Full Member in 2017,” the ICC statement said.

“The ICC has been monitoring the changing situation in Afghanistan and is concerned to note recent media reports that women will no longer be allowed to play cricket.”

When Afghanistan was granted men’s Test status in 2017 the ICC had also made it very clear that it is important to field a women’s team provided they committed to growing the game for women and girls.
