Senthilbalaji IT Raids: Officials Attacked By DMK Goons Hospitalized

The Income Tax authorities on Friday (26 May 2023) launched coordinated searches at places linked to Tamil Nadu Liquor Minister V Senthilbalaji in cities including Karur and Coimbatore.

Supporters of V Senthilbalaji, state minister for electricity, excise and prohibition, allegedly created a ruckus and even vandalised a car belonging to the Income Tax (I-T) department and manhandled officials of the department who on Friday launched coordinated searches in places across Tamil Nadu linked to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) minister.

Senthik Balaji’s supporters gathered in Karur when officials came to search the house of his brother V Ashok and raised slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led union government.

A tense situation unfolded in Karur on Friday when supporters of TASMAC contractors made an effort to forcefully impede a team of 50 Income Tax officials from conducting raids on the residences and establishments of these contractors. The supporters of the Tasmac contractors surrounded and obstructed the I-T officials, claiming that they had been attacked.

However, after a five-hour delay and with heavy police protection, the raid resumed.Reports indicate that the tax officials arrived in Karur early in the morning to search around 10 locations. Over 150 officials from Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchy, Madurai, and Dindigul arrived in more than 50 vehicles.

When the team reached Ramakrishnapuram to search a Tasmac contractor’s house, a large group of supporters prevented the officials from entering and voiced their protest. They demanded that a female I-T official present her identity card, which sparked a heated argument.I-T officials Gayathri, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Kumar and Kalla Srinivasa Rao, who were reportedly assaulted by the group, were admitted to the Karur Government Medical College Hospital.

Upon receiving information, the local police rushed to the spot, rescued the woman official, and took her to the police station. In the meantime, the woman official filed a complaint with the police, alleging that she had been attacked by the contractors’ supporters. With the situation spiraling out of control, the search operation was suspended after 10 AM. Following this, the tax officials met with Superintendent of Police A Sundaravadanam and lodged a complaint against the supporters.

The officials claimed that inadequate police protection had contributed to the situation. The SP informed them that there had been no prior notification, preventing the provision of security. Subsequently, the SP ordered police protection for the officials. Each vehicle was assigned a sub-inspector and a police constable, and the search resumed after 5:30 PM. The latest information suggests that the search operation was still ongoing.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai took to Twitter and shared the visuals of the incident. He also called out the unprofessional act of DMK goons as they attacked the IT Officials. The state BJP chief also demanded strict action against the DMK and the police for failing to provide appropriate security to the officials.

“I urge on behalf of Tamil Nadu BJP that action should be taken against the DMK who has threatened the lives of the Income Tax Department and against the District Superintendent of Police who has failed to provide adequate protection to the Income Tax Department,” he further wrote.

9 Years Of Modi Govt, 9 Milestones Achieved

On 20 May 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his first-ever extempore at the Central Hall of Parliament after BJP’s landslide victory in the 2014 general elections.

In his speech, he said, “I am by nature an optimist. It is written in my DNA. Disappointment does not just gel with me. On this occasion, I wish to repeat what I said in my speech at a college here. Just see this glass of water; some say that it is half filled with water, and some say it is half empty. My thinking is of the third type. I say this glass is half filled with water and half with air.”

It has been 9 years since Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India, and in these 9 years, this unswerving optimism going by the mantra of sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, has put India on a new path of progress, development and rising stature.

At this juncture, it is imperative to look at the 9 milestones of the Narendra Modi Government that have changed the destiny of India.

1. Financial Inclusion

One of the initial actions taken by the Modi government in 2014 was to ensure that every Indian had access to a bank account, and up to now, approximately 49 crore individuals have become beneficiaries of this initiative.

By implementing Direct Benefit Transfer to 310 scheme of 53 Departments/Ministries, the Modi government has successfully transferred funds worth ₹29.39 lakh crore directly to bank accounts, without the involvement of intermediaries, thereby eradicating corruption in government schemes.

There was a time when former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had famously stated that only 15 paise out of every rupee sanctioned by Delhi reached the intended recipient.

However, this situation has changed significantly due to the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfers, as corruption has been greatly reduced, with several thousands of crores reaching the beneficiaries at the click of a button from Delhi.

As a result, the Narendra Modi government has saved the Indian treasury a staggering ₹2.73 lakh crore by plugging leaks in central schemes through Direct Benefit Transfers.

2. Digital Economy

India, being heavily reliant on cash transactions in the past, has experienced a remarkable transformation after demonetization and the introduction of UPI (Unified Payments Interface).

Today, digital payments have become widespread across the country.

UPI has completely revolutionised the process of conducting financial transactions, whether it’s shopping at malls, dining at restaurants, purchasing groceries at supermarkets, visiting local convenience stores or pharmacies, or even dealing with street vendors.

In April 2023, UPI witnessed an extraordinary milestone, with a staggering 8.8 billion transactions valued at ₹14 lakh crore.

3. Making India The Fastest Growing Indian Economy

During his inaugural Independence Day speech in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the concept of Make-In-India, which has transformed various sectors of the Indian economy.

By implementing proactive measures tailored to specific industries to enhance the ease of doing business, the Narendra Modi government has unleashed the animal spirit of the Indian economy and is propelling India towards becoming an economic powerhouse.

Through his ‘Atmanirbhar Mission’ (Self-Reliant Mission), Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that India will not lag behind any developed nation and is committed to achieving self-sufficiency in all sectors.

Currently, India boasts over 99,380 recognized startups and 138 unicorns.

Furthermore, on July 1, 2017, India created history by implementing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), one of the most significant and ambitious reforms in the nation’s economic history, leading the way for a unified taxation system known as ‘One Nation, One Tax.’ Through the GST, India has successfully integrated a previously fragmented economy into a cohesive single market.

4. The Decisions That Took Guts And The Gumption

The Narendra Modi government took decisive actions to address critical issues in the country.

The abhorrent practice of Triple Talaq was abolished, ensuring the protection of Muslim women’s rights.

The government abolished Article 370, leading to the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. This move transformed the region from a hub of terrorism to a centre of development and progress.

Furthermore, the Constitutional Amendment Act of 2019 was introduced to expedite the process of granting citizenship to persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

5. Roti Paani Makaan

Through the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, approximately 80 crore people receive 5 kilograms of food grains per person per month at no cost.

The implementation of the One Nation One Ration Card has significantly simplified the process for migrant workers in different states to access their ration supplies.

Moreover, more than 9.59 crore poor women have been provided with free LPG gas connections.

Since its inception in 2019, the Jal Jeevan Scheme has facilitated the provision of over 12 crore tap water connections.

Under The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana over 3.4 crore houses have been successfully constructed. Every village in the country has been electrified, achieving 100% electrification.

These initiatives have played a crucial role in improving the lives and well-being of the citizens.

6. The Vaccine Story

India achieved an unprecedented milestone by introducing a preventive solution within a remarkably short span of 11 months since the first case of a coronavirus disease was reported.

Not only did India successfully develop and administer two vaccines manufactured within the country, but they also provided vaccination to millions of Indians and people worldwide. A total of 220.57 crore vaccine doses were administered.

The efficient utilization of technology in the rollout of these vaccines has garnered admiration from other nations, creating a sense of awe towards India’s approach.

7. Transformation Of Transport

Those who have travelled on Indian trains a decade ago can vouch for the following conditions: coaches covered in rust, foul-smelling toilets, piles of human waste on tracks, and red spit stains on station walls.

Cleanliness was certainly not a guarantee, and safety was a concern due to unmanned level crossings, the need for track renewal, and passenger safety issues. However, significant changes have been observed in the Indian Railways in recent years.

A notable improvement has been the focus on cleanliness, which has enhanced the travel experience for rail passengers by implementing clean and odour-free bio-toilets. This positive transformation can be attributed to the Swachh Bharat initiative, which has instilled a sense of responsibility in people to keep public places clean.

Major railway stations in high-traffic cities have been modernized and renovated, and even stations in tier-2 cities have received impressive makeovers. The fact that capital outlay for railways alone for 2023-24 is ₹2.5 lakh crore which is 9 times more than that of 2013-14, is a testament to the vision held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in transforming India.

Eventually, all unmanned level crossings were eliminated within a span of five years, leading to a drastic reduction in accidents from 131 in 2015 to zero in the past 3 years.

Additionally, from Dedicated Freight Corridors to Kisan Rails and Vande Bharat Express, the Indian Railways has undergone a complete transformation in the last 9 years.

Nevertheless, there has been a tremendous effort towards strengthening India’s road infrastructure. In 2014-15, the pace at which National Highways construction happened was 12 km/day. It touched a record high of 42.03 km per day in February 2023.

FASTag has been a game changer in highway commute reducing time, fuel consumption and thereby carbon emissions.

In the last 9 years, the number of operational airports in the country has doubled from 74 in 2014 to 148 in 2023.

8. Defense & Diplomacy

In the past decades, India has experienced traumatic incidents of serial bombings, hijackings, and terror attacks. However, over the last 9 years, the country has not witnessed any such acts of terrorism.

Furthermore, those who dare to provoke us have faced severe retaliation, as demonstrated through actions like surgical strikes against Pakistan and the clash in the Galwan Valley against Chinese troops.

India’s approach has shifted from being a net importer of defence equipment to focusing on indigenous production, resulting in a significant boost in defence exports. Thanks to the Athmanirbar initiative of our Prime Minister.

The country has achieved remarkable progress in terms of firepower, with the successful deployment of domestically built aircraft carriers, submarines, and missiles. These developments have contributed to a significant increase in India’s defence capabilities.

Instances such as Operation Rahat for rescuing Indians in Yemen, Operation Maitri during the Nepal earthquake, the Vande Bharat mission amid the pandemic, Operation Devishakti to aid stranded Indians in Afghanistan, Operation Ganga for bringing back Indian students from Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and Operation Kaveri for rescuing Indians affected by the civil war in Sudan, all serve as evidence of the Narendra Modi Government going out of the way to rescue Indians living abroad systematically.

9. Civilizational Revival

The Ram Janmabhoomi movement has reached its rightful culmination with the near completion of the Ram Mandir. Likewise, several revered spiritual hubs, such as Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath, Kedarnath, and Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain, which were previously neglected, have undergone a remarkable and positive transformation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought about a civilizational resurgence by unabashedly embracing his identity without any pretence of pseudo-secularism.

Through initiatives such as Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam, and Kashi Telugu Sangamam, Prime Minister Modi is actively promoting the vision of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” by revitalizing the cultural bonds and heritage that connects all Indians. These endeavours aim to strengthen the deep-rooted civilizational consciousness of the nation, fostering a sense of unity and shared identity among its diverse population.

In this time of Amrit Kal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his quest to revive Bharat’s civilizational heritage, has decided to rehabilitate the sacred ‘Sengol‘ by placing it in the chamber of the new Parliament. This is intended to remind us that rulers must adhere to the statute of Dharma and righteousness.

Whether it is acknowledging the unsung heroes of our history through Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav or recognizing the exemplary achievements of contemporary individuals through the People’s Padma Awards, the Narendra Modi Government has fundamentally transformed the narrative of India.

These are just a glimpse of the significant achievements in the journey towards shaping a New India. The country has seen a phenomenal transformation in every sector that has impacted the last-standing Indian. Indians today feel the rise of a new, bold and confident India that is taking its rightful place on the world stage.

Adheenam Confirms ‘Sengol’ Was Presented To Mountbatten Before Giving To Nehru As ‘Symbolic Transfer Of Power’

The Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam which had handed over the Sengol to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru has confirmed that it was presented to last Viceroy Mountbatten before it was handed over to Nehru as a symbolic transfer of power.

Earlier a few media outlets like The Hindu, BBC Tamil, The News Minute, etc, and the Congress party had disputed the events leading to the Sengol ceremony saying that there was no evidence of Sengol being given to Mountbatten first and then to Nehru as a ‘symbol of the transfer of power’ from British to India.

These media outlets had said that the government’s version of what transpired on the eve of Indian independence day rests on “flimsy grounds”.

Quoting the report of The Hindu, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Twitter stated that the claim of the ‘Sengol’ symbolizing the transfer of power from British to Indians is a bogus and fake narrative and that there is no evidence of Mountbatten, Rajaji, or Nehru describing this scepter as a symbol of power transfer. Though he acknowledges that a majestic sceptre conceived by a religious establishment in then Madras province and crafted in Madras city was presented to Nehru in August 1947, he calls the sceptre as a symbol of power transfer BOGUS. He further added, “The sceptre is now being used by the PM & his drum-beaters for their political ends in Tamil Nadu. This is typical of this brigade that embroiders facts to suit its twisted objectives.”

However in a press release, the Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam said “We saw some reports and statements from members of a certain political party that deeply hurt us. This political party is said to have stated that the history surrounding the use of the Sengol to symbolize the transfer of power in 1947 is false. Multiple sources, including our own records, have confirmed that we were invited to conduct a ritual to symbolize the transfer of power.”

Adheenam added, “Our Adheenam honored Rajaji’s invitation and had a Sengol made, gave it to Lord Mountbatten, got it back from him, and presented it to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in an elaborate ritual. The Swami who presented it to Nehru also stated that this Sengol is a symbol of self-rule.”

The statement ended by saying, “Saying such events are bogus or false, casting doubt on our credibility, and downplaying the significance of the Sengol as a symbol of power transfer for the sake of politics is very sad and unfortunate.”

Kamal Who Kissed Underage Actress Without Consent Gives Voice For Wrestlers Protest

Bigg Boss anchor and part-time politician Kamal Haasan, who is busy shooting for his upcoming Tamil film Indian 2, took to Twitter to express his support for the wrestlers’ protest against WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

On 23 May 2023, Kamal Haasan tweeted, “Today marks 1 month of protests by athletes of the wrestling fraternity. Instead of fighting for national glory, we have forced them to fight for personal safety. Fellow Indians, who deserves our attention, our national sporting icons or a politician with an extensive criminal history?”

It is worth noting that Kamal Haasan, who has come out in support of wrestlers protesting the arrest of their molester, was once accused of kissing an underage actress on screen without her consent. The alleged incident occurred during the shooting of the movie Punnagai Mannan, during which he kissed Rekha, a 16-year-old actress who had just completed 10th grade back then.

The visuals of the song “Enna Satham Indha Neram” show Kamal Haasan having sex with the 16 year old actress semi-naked.

In an interview with a YouTube channel, actress Rekha said, “I had no idea about the kissing scene. I was only 16 at the time. Neither Kamal nor Director Balachander informed me that there would be a kissing scene. I felt horrible after filming the kissing scene.”

Kamal Haasan’s support for female wrestlers was mocked on social media, as there are already calls to file a POCSO case against him for kissing an underage actress without her permission.

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada, quoting Kamal Haasan, asked him where he was when she was banned from the music industry for naming her molester. During India’s Me Too movement, the singer claimed that Tamil lyricist Vairamuthu sexually harassed her on work trips and threatened to end her career if she did not respond.

In her tweet, Chinmayi said, “5 years of a singer in Tamilnadu being banned for naming a molester right in front of their eyes and not a pip about it since the poettu has their respect. How does one trust politicians who speak for women’s safety while they ignore harassment right under their noses? Just. Asking. Now while my timeline will blow up with abuse, shouting and yelling imma gonna exit. Buhbye!”

DMK Thugs Manhandle Woman IT Official, Snatch Search Warrant, Breaks Windshield Of IT Official’s Vehicle; News7 and Sun News Misreports

The Income Tax Department is currently conducting raids at the residences of DMK Liquor Minister Senthil Balaji, his brother Ashok, and 40 other locations of various Government contractors across Tamil Nadu associated with Senthil Balaji.

According to IT department sources, raids are currently taking place in Chennai, Karur, and other locations.

A few days ago, the Supreme Court refused to discharge Balaji in the cash-for-jobs scam and directed the ED to continue its probe into the charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. A bench of the Supreme Court, on May 16, refused to discharge Tamil Nadu electricity minister V. Senthil Balaji in the cash-for-jobs scam and set aside a 2022 Madras High Court order for a fresh investigation against the minister and others in the case. The high court order had the effect of nullifying a Supreme Court judgment of September 8, 2022, which had restored the criminal case against the minister. Now, the Supreme Court has granted the state police two months’ time to complete the investigation and submit the final report. The apex court further directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to continue its probe into the charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Following the ruling by the Supreme Court, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai wrote to Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, requesting that Senthil Balaji be removed from the cabinet as his continued presence would impede the investigation of the job racket case.

In this background, IT sleuths are searching the homes of DMK liquor minister Senthil Balaji and his brother Ashok. Close relatives of the minister and some contractors were among those whose residences were searched by the Income Tax department.

In such a situation, a female IT official who attempted to enter Senthil Balaji’s brother’s house was confronted by DMK thugs who demanded that she open her bag. Despite her showing the bag, DMK thugs snatched the search warrant from her and prevented her from entering Ashok’s premises.

Outside the residence of DMK minister Senthil Balaji, DMK thugs vandalized the vehicle and broke the windshield of IT officials.

Despite the fact that videos of DMK thugs breaking into and vandalizing IT officials’ vehicles were going viral on social media, News7 Tamil attempted to downplay the incident by reporting that it was the general public who opposed the IT searches at the DMK minister’s residence.

Sun News Tamil, which reported the incident, avoided using Minister Senthil Balaji’s name intentionally and stated that the IT raids are taking place at the residences of government contractors.

K’taka Congress Min Priyank Kharge Threatens To Ban RSS & Bajrang Dal, Asks BJP To Go To Pakistan

Priyank Kharge, the son of alleged Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and a Minister in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s cabinet has threatened to ban one of the world’s largest voluntary service organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of Hindu organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

The Minister said that the Congress government in Karnataka will ban the RSS and Bajrang Dal “if peace of the state is disturbed”, which many consider it to be a broad and vague condition that virtually gives a free pass for the Congress government to ban the organization at its whims.

He also said that if the BJP has any problem with this diktat, they can go to Pakistan.

“We have promised to turn Karnataka into a paradise. If peace is disturbed we won’t even consider if it is Bajrang Dal or RSS. Whenever law is taken into the hands, a ban will be imposed. As per the promise given in the manifesto, we will ban any organisation, including Bajrang Dal and RSS,” Kharge was quoted saying in a report by The News Minute.

“Some elements are roaming freely without fear of law and police in society. The trend has been happening for three years,” he was quoted saying referring to Hindu groups.

However, Priyank Kharge made no mention of radical Islamic terror organization Popular Front of India (PFI) while talking about disturbance of peace.

Kharge also declared that the Congress government in the state would withdraw the ban on hijab and cow slaughter laws.

Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar warned the state police officials saying that he won’t allow saffronization of police department. He even pulled up officers for wearing saffron clothes.

“Are you going to saffronize the police department? This is not allowed in our government. I know how you insulted the department by wearing saffron clothes in Mangalore, Bijapur, Bagalkot. If you have respect for the country, you should work with the national flag,” DK Shivakumar said.

Dravidian Model: Yes To Amul Sponsoring DMK Family-Owned SRH, No To Amul Procuring From TN Farmers

Taking a leaf out of their ally Congress’s playbook, the DMK in Tamil Nadu is now trying to pit state-owned Aavin issue with Amul.

On 25 May 2023, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah asking Amul to desist from procuring milk from Tamil Nadu dairy farmers.

Amul has reportedly set up chilling centres and processing plant Krishnagiri district with plans to procure milk from cooperatives in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Ranipet, and Thirupathur, areas.

Opposing this move of MK Stalin alleged that Amul procuring from Tamil Nadu dairy farmers will promote “unhealthy competition” with Aavin.

However, it must be noted that Tamil Nadu state-owned Aavin procures only a small share of 35 LLPD (Lakh Litres Per Day), of the state’s total production of 244 LLPD. This too is done at ₹32-34 per litre while Amul is offering a better procurement rate of ₹34-38 per litre.

Be that as it may, a blatant instance of DMK government’s hypocrisy has now come to the forefront. Amul is one of the sponsors of SunRisers Hyderabad IPL team which is owned by Kalanithi Maran, brother of DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran and a member of Stalin’s family.

Amul Organic, a part of Anand Milk Union Limited (Amul), joined hands with the SunRisers as their Official Organic Partner for the 2023 IPL season.

The official Twitter handle of DMK family-owned Sunrisers Hyderabad had even tweeted about the same on 19 May 2023.

Many on social media have asked if Dravidian Model means one rule for Stalin’s family and another for Tamil Nadu people.

While the DMK-family has made money from Amul by having the company sponsor their team, the DMK government is denying Tamil Nadu farmers to make money from Amul.

After Congress, DMK Does Politics Over Amul; Doesn’t Want Amul To Operate In TN

In the run up to the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, the Congress party had pitted Karnataka’s state-owned Nandini against Amul which had announced its plans to commence door delivery of Amul’s Taaza milk.

Congress leaders argued that in Karnataka only Nandini should be sold and the entry of Amul will threaten the local brand.

Taking a leaf out of their ally’s playbook, the DMK in Tamil Nadu is now trying to milk a similar issue by pitting state-owned Aavin with Amul.

Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday sought the intervention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in requesting Gujarat-based milk cooperative Amul to stop procuring from the milk shed area of Tamil Nadu’s cooperative Aavin, citing unhealthy competition.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin explained the implications of milk collection by the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, commonly known as Amul, in Tamil Nadu’s dairy-producing regions.

According to MK Stalin, it has long been the practice in India to allow cooperatives to thrive without interfering with each other’s milk-shed area. “The act of Amul infringes on Tamil Nadu Aavin’s milk shed area, which has been nurtured in true cooperative spirit over decades,” he said.

“Such cross-procurement goes against the spirit of ‘Operation White Flood’ and will exacerbate problems for the consumers given the prevailing milk shortage scenario in the country,” CM Stalin said in his letter.

MK Stalin attempted to explain the importance of Aavin in Tamil Nadu saying, “Aavin is our apex cooperative marketing federation. Under the ambit of Aavin co-operative, 9,673 Milk Producers Co-operative Societies are functioning in rural areas. They procure 35 LLPD of milk from about 4.5 lakh pouring members. Under this current arrangement, milk producers are assured of remunerative and uniform prices throughout the year by the cooperative societies.”

“Regional cooperatives have been the bedrock of dairy development in the states and they are better placed to engage and nurture producers and to cushion consumers from arbitrary price hikes.

Therefore, I request your urgent intervention to direct Amul to desist from milk procurement from the milk shed area of Aavin in Tamil Nadu with immediate effect,” the Chief Minister said.

However, Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai refuted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s arguments with facts, claiming that the CM is using diversionary tactics and theatrics to incite the Amul vs Aavin narrative in Tamil Nadu.

Annamalai stated in his tweet that Aavin’s daily procurement of milk from farmers is a small share, 35 LLPD (Lakh Litres Per Day), compared to the state’s total production of 244 LLPD, and that Aavin’s average milk procurement from farmers has dropped to 32LLPD since May 2021, when the DMK took power in the state.

“Is the Tamil Nadu CM wary of the fact that Aavin’s milk procurement in TN on the overall milk produced in the state is only 14%?” Annamalai asked.

Annamalai also cited incidents in the past in which former DMK minister ‘Avadi’ Nasser attempted to award Diwali sweet contracts to a private firm while ignoring Aavin, and how Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanium failed to include Aavin milk powder in the Nutrition kit tender for lactating mothers despite Aavin’s offer to manufacture it.

Annamalai said, “Thiru MK Stalin avl needs to consider increasing daily milk procurement & improving the livelihood of the hardworking farmers in the state and focus on making Aavin the number one Milk cooperative society in the country instead of engaging in his usual theatrics!”

Netizens also questioned MK Stalin on why he is insisting on Amul not being operated in Tamil Nadu when his family can own an Indian Premier League team in Hyderabad. It is worth noting that Aavin purchases milk from farmers at a rate of Rs 32-34 per litre, whereas Amul purchases at a rate of Rs 34-38 per liter, which benefits milk farmers. This raises the logical question of whether MK Stalin is speaking on behalf of private dairy companies in Tamil Nadu who are concerned that Amul will reduce their market share.

The Prime Minister said that the government’s emphasis is on the ‘Navratna’, 9 gems of development. First Ratna, he said, is ₹1300 crore rejuvenation work at Kedarnath-Badrinath Dham. Second, ₹2500 crore Ropeway project at Gaurikund-Kedarnath and Gobind Ghat- Hemkunt Sahib. Third, the renovation of ancient temples of Kumaon under Manas Khand Mandir Mala programme. Fourth, the promotion of Homestay in the entire state where more than 4000 homestays have been registered in the state. Fifth, the development of 16 ecotourism destinations. Sixth, expansion of health services in Uttarakhand. AIIMS satellite center is coming up in Udham Singh Nagar. Seventh, ₹2000 cr Tehri Lake Development Project. Eighth, the development of Haridwar Rishikesh as the capital of Yoga and adventure tourism and finally, the Tanakpur Bageshwar Rail Line.

He said these Navratnas are being consolidated with a new push to infrastructure development in the state. Work is going on at a rapid pace on ₹12,000 cr Char Dham Mahapariyojana, he informed. Delhi Dehradun Expressway will make the journey faster and easier. He also talked about the Ropeway connectivity in Uttarakhand. “Parvat Mala Project is going to change the state’s fortune in the coming days”, he said. He remarked that the ₹16,000 cr Rishikesh-Karanprayag Rail Project will be completed in 2-3 years. The Project will make a big part of Uttarakhand accessible and will push investment, industry and employment.

The Prime Minister remarked that with the assistance of the Central Government, Uttarakhand is emerging as the hub of tourism, adventure tourism, film shooting destination and wedding destination. He said that the tourist spots of the state are attracting visitors from all across the globe and the Vande Bharat Express will be greatly beneficial to them. The Prime Minister observed that traveling by train remains the first choice for those who are accompanied by their family members and the Vande Bharat is gradually becoming the go-to means of transportation.

“The India of the 21st century can scale further heights of development by maximizing the potential of infrastructure”, the Prime Minister remarked as he pointed out that the governments of the past could not understand the importance of infrastructure while they were preoccupied with corruption and dynastic politics. Even though huge promises were made by the previous governments regarding high-speed trains in India, the Prime Minister observed that they even failed to get rid of unmanned gates from the rail network, while the state of electrification of rail lines was even worse. The Prime Minister informed that only one-third of the country’s rail network had been electrified by 2014 making it impossible to think of a fast-running train. “The all-around work to transform the railways began after 2014”, the Prime Minister said.  He underlined that the work to implement the dream of the country’s first high-speed train began in full swing while also preparing the whole network for semi-high-speed trains. The Prime Minister informed that 600 km of rail lines were electrified every year on an average before 2014 whereas 6 thousand kilometers of railway lines are being electrified every year today. “Today, more than 90 percent of the country’s railway network has been electrified. In Uttarakhand, 100 percent electrification of the entire rail network has been achieved”, the Prime Minister informed.

The Prime Minister credited the development work to the right intention, policy and dedication. Underlining that the boost in the railway budget in comparison to 2014 has directly benefited Uttarakhand, the Prime Minister informed that 5 years before 2014, the average budget for the state was less than ₹200 crore whereas today the rail budget is 5 thousand crore rupees, a 25 fold increase. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of connectivity in a hilly state where people from the villages migrated due to a lack of connectivity and underlined that the Government wants to prevent that suffering for the coming generations. He also noted that modern connectivity will also be of great use in easy access to our borders and the soldiers defending the nation should not be inconvenienced in any way.

Concluding the address, the Prime Minister said that the double-engine government is committed to the development of Uttarakhand where the rapid development of Uttarakhand will also help in the rapid development of India. “The country is not going to stop now, the country has now caught its pace. The whole country is moving ahead at the speed of Vande Bharat and will continue to move ahead”, the Prime Minister concluded.

Background

This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand. With world-class amenities, it will herald a new era of comfortable travel experiences, especially for tourists traveling to the state. The train has been indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology. The new Vande Bharat Express will cover the distance between Dehradun to Delhi in 4.5 hours.

Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister of providing cleaner means of public transport, Indian Railways is on a quest to completely electrify rail routes in the country. Moving ahead in this direction, the Prime Minster dedicated the newly electrified rail line sections in Uttarakhand. With this, the state will have its entire rail route 100% electrified. Trains run by electric traction on the electrified sections will result in an increase in the speed of trains and enhance haulage capacity.
