DMK Spokie Shares Distorted Map Of India, Deletes Tweet Later

After receiving backlash, DMK supporter Salem Dharanidharan deleted a tweet with a distorted map of India.

On Friday (November 25), Salem Dharanidharan, who claims to be a former World Democracy Forum and United Nations youth leader but is actually a DMK supporter disguised as a political opinion maker, tweeted an image of India without Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the Aksai Chin area.

He attempted to make an anti-North Indian racist tweet by dividing the distorted map of India into two sections, with a large section of South, Central, and Western India having 50% population, while a small rest of the section of India comprising Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and other North Easter states having 50% population.

Posting the image, he said, “This is why it is very important to discuss delimitation.” He meant to say that a small section of states with a large population, such as UP, Bihar, and others, are depriving south Indian states with a low population of benefits, thus instilling hatred in them. However, after receiving backlash and being afraid of legal consequence, the tweet was deleted by Salem Dharanidharan.

It is to be noted that the Central government mulled the ” Geospatial Information Bill 2016″ which makes the wrong depiction of the map of India a crime that could land the violators in jail with a maximum term of seven years and a fine of up to Rs 100 crore. This measure has been envisaged by the government against certain social networking sites that showed J&K and Arunachal Pradesh as part of Pakistan and China respectively.

Existing provisions such as Section 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 74 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act were invoked against Twitter India in June 2021, when it displayed a distorted map of India on its website.

Naganathaswamy Temple Built By Rajendra Chozha Lies In Shambles

Devotees and netizens have condemned the DMK government-led Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department and the Tamil Nadu archaeological department for their apathy and indifference in maintaining the Sri Naganathaswamy temple in Manambadi, Kumbakonam, which has also been designated as a monument by the same Tamil Nadu archaeology department.

About The Temple

Situated along the southern banks of Kollidam River, the Naganathaswamy temple was constructed during the time of Rajendra Chozha I. It is said to predate his architectural marvel Gangaikonda Chozhapuram Temple.

The Naganathaswamy Temple is also known as Sri Kalisam or Thirukailayam. Lord Naganathaswamy is in the form of a lingam and the Ambal (Lord Shiva’s consort) here is called Shenbagavalli. The temple has 6 inscriptions of the Rajendra Chozha I regime and 3 inscriptions of the Kulothunga Chola I period. One of the inscriptions refers to this place as Ilanjikudi Veera Narayanapuram.

As Rajendra Chozha 1 rule existed between 1012 AD and 1044 AD, the temple is said to be more than 1000 years old with immense heritage value. There is a sculpture of Rajendra Chozha I along with his queen worshipping lord Nataraja which is not found in many Chozha temples.

There is also a unique sculpture which shows River Goddess Kaveri performing pooja to the Siva Lingam. Other sculptures of Vinayagar, Lingothbavar, Durga, Dakshinamurthy are found along the walls of the sanctum sanctorum. The stone walls also have depictions of festivals and dance forms.

However, much of the temple lies in a dilapidated condition with broken walls and overgrown bushes. Platforms can be found broken and idols of deities lie scattered. The temple, which is under the control of the state Archaeology Department and ‘maintained’ by the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department, lies in a pathetic state making it look like it was razed down by Malik Kafur.

The Continued Neglect

Despite repeated plea by the locals and devotees, there has been no concrete efforts to restore the temple. M Selvaraj, a local temple activist and BJP worker has been fighting for decades to preserve the temple. A field report published by Swarajya notes that Selvaraj has sent several petitions to the complaining about the encroachments as well as other illegal activities in the temple premises but his efforts have borne no fruit.

Selvaraj’s RTI filing had forced the local administration to launch a probe which revealed that the Tamil Nadu Highways Department has appropriated the land that belongs to the temple to build an adjoining road. It had demolished a centuries-old compound wall to make way for the road.

According to The Hindu, in 2013, local residents and temple activists successfully thwarted the demolition of the temple for road expansion under the Thanjavur-Vikkiravandi four-lane project. The temple was later declared as a State monument. The temple is now one of the 89 protected monuments under the control of the Department of Archaeology, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Rangarajan Narasimhan, who is known for filing petitions in High Courts for the protection of Hindu Temples and bringing to light any irregularities in the HR&CE department, said in a video shared on November 4th, “This is the pathetic state of Naganatha Swamy temple in Manambadi in Kumbakonam district. This is a 1000-year-old temple.  In the name of renovation, the Tamil Nadu Department of archaeology demolished the temple in 2016. In April 2017, UNESCO came here for an inspection.”

He also showed an idol thought to be Rajendra Chozha, who built this temple, which had been broken into two.

Temple activist Rangarajan Narasimhan has made several requests to the HR&CE department and Tamil Nadu Archeological department to renovate the temple as soon as possible, but so far no action has been taken.

In a tweet on November 24, he said,”Even after bringing this to the knowledge of the HR&CE department, after 20 days Sri Naganada Swamy Temple Manambadi, which was demolished by the dept is in the same pathetic state. No security nothing. Are they waiting for the thieves to arrive??”

FCRA License Of Church-Funded Controversial NGO Cancelled

Following reports about the suspension of FCRA license for World Vision, India’s Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has cancelled the FCRA license of another controvesial organization Socio-Legal Information Center, a patron NGO of the Human Rights Law Network, which has been funded by foreign churches.

Socio-Legal Information Center (SLIC) is run by a Christian lawyer named Colin Gonsalves who has been under the Government’s scanner for a few years now, for offering disproportionate support to several issues, including the Rohingya Muslim refugees, illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, the infamous 2020 Delhi Riots, Christian priest and Maoist sympathizer, Stan Swamy accused for his role in the 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence and more recently, the Hijab controversy.

The FCRA license of an organization is cancelled when it violates the provisions of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

According to the FCRA rules, an NGO seeking to receive foreign donations must utilise those funds only for the purpose for which they have been received and as stipulated in the Act. The reasons that can lead to the cancellation of FCRA Registration are: i) non-filing of annual returns, ii) not maintaining proper FCRA account, iii) making false declaration and false account, iv) not working in public interest, v) utilization of foreign funds for administrative expenses, vi) accepting funds through undisclosed bank accounts.

HRLN is a project of the Socio-Legal Information Centre (SLIC), which claims to be a non-profit legal-aid and education organisation, providing free legal assistance to those people who lack the capacity to seek legal remedy. The Human Rights Law Network is a division of the Socio-Legal Information Centre (SLIC). HRLN, founded by Supreme Court lawyer, Colin Gonsalves in 1989, The HRLN has a mission statement which is a clever pretext to advancing a minority-based agenda in India. It is described as “a collective of lawyers and social activists dedicated to the use of the legal system to advance human rights, struggle against violations, and ensure access to justice for all in India”. HRLN employs a smart strategy in appointing retired SC judges as directors! The names of Ex-Supreme Court judges are a deterrent to anybody with opposing arguments to the cases defended by the HRLN and are highly prone to manipulation and undue influence, utilized in judgements where it fights various litigations at the SC or High Court levels.

Under the garb of providing legal support to “underprivileged” sections of society, HRLN receives funds from European churches to provide legal help to anti- establishment forces of India. Providing legal help to any accused murderer, rioter, or arsonist, is not an illegal act per se, however, using money received under FCRA from foreign countries to defend anti-establishment forces is a violation of the FCRA.

Colin Gonsalves’ “non-profit” HRLN with close, established links to the now banned Socio-Legal Information Center (SLIC), received a hitherto-known amount of ₹50 crore from European Churches and organizations claiming to fight for “human rights” including rights in favour of “religious freedom”. It has been long alleged that HRLN and SLIC, have been working exclusively for the Muslim and Christian cause in India against the interests of the Hindus and the larger national cause.

The Church denominations which funded crores to HRLN’s patron NGO “Socio-Legal Information Center” are: Bread for the World (Germany, Christian Protestant), DKA (Austria, Christian Catholic) MISEREOR (German, Christian Catholic), Karuna Trust (UK, allegedly Dalit- Buddhist) INCLO ( group of 13 “human-rights” NGOs) and European Commission (Belgium, purportedly for “human-rights”).

HRLN is also the parent body of the Indian People’s Tribunal (IPT), also called the Indian People’s Tribunal on Environmental and Human Rights or Independent People’s Tribunal. Set up in June 1993, IPT claims to conduct public inquiries into human rights and environmental abuses and conduct investigations into cases of relocation of rural people to make way for dams or parks, eviction of slum dwellers, industrial pollution and alleged communal or state-sponsored violence. To many, this appears to be yet another “front” for inciting unrest, promoting anti-government demonstrations and destabilizing the Central government/state governments against much needed developmental projects for the country’s economic growth.

Vinay Joshi of Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) published an elaborate report back in 2020, highlighting the nexus between certain “NGOs” and their anti-Indian, specifically anti-Hindu activities. He talks about Colin Gonsalves, SLIC and HRLN at length.

Colin Gonsalves has personally fought the case for Soni Sori, who was arrested for her links with Naxalites.

HRLN website openly claimed that its lawyers defended stone pelters, rioters, arsonist and criminal elements involved in anti CAA riots across the country including riot accused Safoora Zargar.

Locals Protest Against G Square For Allegedly Demolishing Compound Of Ancient Temple

Chengalpattu residents, led by Hindu Munnani, protest against G Square, a DMK Stalin family-related Tamil Nadu real estate firm, for allegedly demolishing a temple compound wall to construct drainage for its project in Chengalpattu district.

The Lakshmi Narayana temple in Pallikaranai, Chengalpattu district, is a very old temple that attracts devotees from all over northern districts in Tamil Nadu. Local residents reported on Thursday that the company G-Square, whose promoters are allegedly related to Sabareesan, son-in-law of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, demolished the temple compound wall to construct drainage for the G-Square firm’s recently started real estate project.

According to the local residents, the construction was not stopped despite their opposition, which forced them to jump into protest along with Hindu Munnani and other Hindu organizations. Members of Hindu Munnani said that they will protest alongside the people until the temple property is handed back.

“G-Square, company related to MK Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan, has encroached land belonging to the 1000-year-old Lakshmi Narayana temple. With the support of government officials, G-Square constructed its drainage by demolishing the temple property.”, Hindu Munnani stated in a tweet.

G Square Realtors Private Limited is a real estate company that aggregates land parcels to set up residential plots and commercial complexes. It also sells these land parcels to big corporates to set up IT parks. G Square has gobbled up the real estate spaces spanning Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, and Hosur with several luxury housing projects to its name. No other real estate firm has seen a such meteoric rise in a short span of time. This has led to allegations that the company has seen this astounding rise owing to its close ties with the family members of DMK chief MK Stalin. G-Square and the DMK connect can be accessed through The Commune article here.

‘Dalit Christian’ ‘Anti-Caste’ Activist Says Maniratnam Pioneered Portrayal Of Muslims As Terrorists, Calls ARR ‘Feudal Caste Muslim’

Shalin Maria Lawrence, who identifies herself as a ‘Dalit Christian writer’ and an ‘anti-caste activist’ has once again stoked controversy saying that the first south Indian film that portrayed Muslims as terrorists was Roja and that it was film director Maniratnam who initiated that trend.

She also called the late acclaimed film director K. Balachander a ‘soft sanghi’. Sanghi is a colloquial term used by leftists and Dravidian Stocksists to refer to anyone who is a devout Hindu.

“The first movie in South India which potrayed Muslims as terrorists was ‘Roja’ . Maniratnam started the trend. Roja was an agenda movie produced by Balachander a soft Sanghi.”, Shalin Maria Lawrence said.

She also blamed music composer AR Rahman for working in ‘Islamophobic’ movies made by Maniratnam.

“ARR worked in that and every similar movie made by Mani. Roja, Bombay, Dil se etc.”, she said.

She also went on to convolute and extrapolate her argument to musical maestrao Ilaiyaraaja’s Dalit identity.

She asked “Has anyone who’s questioning Ilayaraja on his work in Thevar Magan posed the same disdain and questions to ARR?”

Kamal Haasan’s blockbuster and critically acclaimed Thevar Magan (Son of Thevar), is a story involving a village chieftain (Sivaji Ganesan), his son (Kamal Haasan) and how a family feud affects the entire village. The movie often earns the wrath of leftists for glorifying casteism involving the Thevar community of Tamil Nadu.

Shalin Maria Lawrence implies that Ilaiyaraaja was attacked for scoring the music for a ‘casteist’ Thevar Magan while AR Rahman doesn’t face flak for scoring music for ‘Islamophobic’ movies.

However, except for the leftist ‘intellectuals’ and ‘activists’, the common populace holds no such views on either Ilaiyaraaja or AR Rahman and are celebrated for their respective works.

Shalin Maria Lawrence on the other hand went on to call AR Rahman a ‘feudal caste Muslim’.

“.. Why did he work in Islamophobic movies? Which created a big impact to muslim lives in TN in the 90s? We left him because he is feudal caste muslim? How Convinient No?”, she said.

This is not the first time that Shalin Maria Lawrence who claims to be an anti-caste activist has raked up caste over trivial issues.

In October 2022, Shalin Maria Lawrence alleged that her wifi connection stopped working becasuse her ‘Brahmin neighbour’ messed with the cables which was passing through the latter’s house. . She said that since the ‘Brahmin neighbour’ did not want the WiFi connection running through her house she tampered with the cables because of which her internet stopped working. Lawrence further went on to claim that her neighbor’s actions are a “clear violation” of the “SC/ST” protection laws, but she cannot file a case under the Act since she is a ‘Christian Dalit’ who is not covered by it. Her intentions to create a Brahmin-Dalit divide invited the ire of netizens, prompting her to withdraw the tweet.

In February 2022, she posted in her Facebook page that religious conversion of Hindus in Tamil Nadu is essential for arresting the growth of BJP in the state.

TRS MLA Manhandles Govt Official

Video footage in wide circulation, highlighting the high handedness of hot-headed politicians, has brought negative publicity for Telangana state’s ruling TRS party and its MLA involved in the incident, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy of Jogulamba-Gadwal district.

In the video, Reddy is seen grabbing the collar of a government education official and abusing him in Telugu, even as a large crowd of people looked on in disbelief.

The incident seems to have its roots in the rivalry between two factions within the TRS party. The MLA looks visibly upset and irate on his arrival, when it becomes apparent that the usual party and bureaucratic protocol of waiting for him was not followed but instead, a fellow party member, a ZPTC (Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency) Chairman and junior in party, was allowed to inaugurate the new facilities for the BC communities in his absence.

The MLA’s supporters complain that the timings communicated to them were botched up and that the political/hierarchical faux pas was intentional.

There is rife speculation that this incident is the latest in a series of spats between the MLA, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy and the ZPTC chair person, Sarita Thirupathaiah both of whom are TRS elected representatives from Jogulamba-Gadwal district.

For more than two years now, this Telangana district has witnessed an open tussle for dominance and power between factions within the TRS party. Officials are complaining about being targeted due to the sectarian differences between the leaders of the ruling party.

The video shows MLA, Bandla Reddy angrily questioning ZP chairperson, Saritha, over misquoted event timings and Saritha is heard apologizing to him. Soon after, the MLA is seen walking towards the government official, grabbing his collar and questioning him in a threatening manner.

Nobody has yet officially filed a complaint and the party has not yet taken a stand either way, as of today.

The current internal feud between Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy and Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Sarita Thirupathaiah started during the 2019 ZP elections and reached its peak over the transfer of ZP CEOs. Rumor has it that the ZP chairperson is being backed by Minister Niranjan Reddy and Alampur MLA Abraham, against the choices and actions of the MLA.

Cauvery Calling To Conduct Seminar On Earning Profits From Rain-fed Lands In Virudhunagar

On November 27, Cauvery Calling, will conduct a seminar on the cultivation of tree crops in rain-fed lands to earn good profits in Virudhunagar. More than a thousand farmers from all over Tamil Nadu are going to participate in the seminar.

A press conference in this regard was held today at the Madurai Reporters Guild. The State Field Coordinator of the Cauvery Calling Movement, Thiru Tamilmaran explained, “More than 40 percent of the land in Tamil Nadu is rain-fed land. Farmers of the region who depend only on rain for agriculture can earn a good income if they cultivate trees suitable for the soil in their lands. Particularly, valuable timber trees such as Sandalwood, Rosewood, Kodukkapuli, Mahua, Neem, Nattuvagai, Naval, Jackfruit etc. are suitable as they are drought tolerant. 6-8 percent rainfall in dry areas is enough to grow these trees. Also, it survives and thrives with some early maintenance. These trees can be interplanted with regular crops or can be planted en masse to form a grove in rain-fed land. Farmers who want to participate in this seminar can contact 90025 90079 and make reservations”, said Thiru Tamilmaran

While the movement has been conducting training on tree-based agriculture,  this seminar has been organised exclusively for rain-fed farmers.

Various pioneer farmers and scientists will participate in this seminar held at Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College, Sattur. In particular, the Associate Director of Agriculture, Mr Ramamurthy is going to share ways to derive profit from neem trees.

Agricultural Engineer in the Special Project Implementation Department of the Tamil Nadu Government Mr Britoraj will speak about ‘ Kodukappuli’ tree cultivation. Mr Sundararajan, a scientist at the Institute of Wood Science and Technology, Bengaluru, will delve into Sandalwood cultivation. Mr Guruswamy, head of Chettinad Rainfed Agriculture Research Institute is going to talk about Ilupai tree cultivation. Apart from this, pioneer farmers are also going to share about navel, rosewood, vagai and jackfruit cultivation.

Sivagangai district farmer Mr. Sampath and Madurai Peraiyur farmer Mr. Vasimalai also participated in this press conference.

The seminar comes against the backdrop of the Central Government selecting 117 districts in India as Aspirational Districts. It also includes the drought districts of Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar districts of Tamil Nadu. Under this, the farmers of respective districts can get assistance from the central government and cultivate tree crops in their lands.

It is noteworthy that all types of timber saplings are being distributed at Rs.3 for the benefit of farmers in Isha Nursery across Tamil Nadu.

Telangana: TSRTC Staff Invoke Christian Prayer For New Bus Service From Asifabad To Shirdi

A video shared on Twitter, of a TRSTC (Telangana state road transportation corporation) bus from Asifabad, Telangana to Shirdi, Maharashtra with a Telangana state government bus driver, invoking a Christian prayer/blessing, has sparked some online debate. The woman, a Telangana state government employee, is seen indulging in a Christian prayer in Telugu, requesting a safe bus journey for the passengers and their families, the drivers and their families, while she and several people around her, stand with eyes closed and faces turned downward in a typical prayer pose. The manner in which the prayer is said, is typical of those conducted in churches.

The TSRTC had recently launched a new, direct bus service from Asifibad town in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district, Telangana to the pilgrim town of Shirdi, Maharashtra said to take around nineteen to twenty hours by road. The government employee is heard asking “prabhu” for blessings for the newly inaugurated bus service (“prabhu” is a popular mononymous reference to Jesus, in several Indian languages).

“We pray you to keep this newly launched Asifabad-Shirdi RTC bus in your control, and bless all the passengers a safe journey. Make sure that no obstacles be faced by them during their journey. Keeb the bus drivers, their families, their children in your notice.”, the lady can be heard praying.

Asifabad is the district headquarters for Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district in Telangana state, named in honour of the Telugu “Gond” tribal leader and freedom fighter, Komaram Bheem, who valiantly resisted and fought the rule of the Hyderabad Nizam as well as that of the British from 1928-1940. The Gonds were classified as a scheduled tribe (ST), post Indian Independence.

Komaram Bheem Asifabad district is the second most backward district in India, according to the 2018 NITI Aayog ranking and has a high percentage of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, who make up 15.82% and 25.91% of the district’s population respectively. It is in this context that a Telangana state government employee’s Christian prayer, becomes a worrisome subject of discussion, considering the much debated topic of conversions and missionary activities amongst gullible, economically weaker sections of society. Netizens have questioned the state government employee’s open and brazen preference for Christian prayers on a bus route to a Hindu pilgrimage centre.

Tamil Nadu: Youth Booked For Video Alleging Irregularities In Tap Water Connection Work

The Tamil Nadu police have registered a case against a youth in Tiruvannamalai district who released a video on social media about irregularities in the laying of drinking water tap connections.

Tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission were laid and inaugurated a few days ago in Indravanam village of Sethupattu block in Tiruvannamalai district.

On 21 November 2022, a youngster named Murali Krishnan had released a video in which he exposed the irregularities in the laying of the pipes.

In the video, the outlet pipe can be seen just fixed to the ground without any pipeline underneath. He had alleged that authorities have given completion certificate and accounted ₹3.69 lakh for this incomplete work done.

According to a report by Puthiya Thalaimurai, the work for giving tap water connections to all the houses in the village commenced a fortnight ago. The report said they (Puthiya Thalaimurai) had received information that drinking water pipes were installed at 104 places but however it was found that outlet pipes were installed for namesake in more than 50 places.

It is alleged that a department officials were bribed to give the completion certificate for the incomplete work done.

Meanwhile, the incident gained traction with the video being shared by AIADMK leader Kovai Sathyan and even broadcasted in Jaya Plus news channel.

The state Revenue Department officials were directed by the district administration to inspect the village. A parallel investigation by Puthiya Thalaimurai revealed that completion certificate was given even without the work being completed. However, the Revene Department officials refused to divulge details and said that they would initiate departmental action against anyone involved in the irregularities.

Later, work began on replacing the namesake pipes with actual pipe connections.

However, a case has now been registered against the youth who had exposed the irregularities based on a complaint given by Sethupatti Block Development Officer Renugopal. The complaint said that the youth Murali Krishnan had released the video with ‘malafide intention’.
