Australian National Accused Of Violating Indian Visa Rules By Engaging In Proselytization

Legal Rghts Observatory (LRO), an NGO-watch engaged in legal activism has filed a complaint with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) against Australian preacher, James Donovan of the Infamous Soudan Interior Ministry (SIM) for allegedly taking an active part in proselytization activities.

By engaging in proselytization activities, the Christian preacher has violated the Government of India’s guidelines for North East Tribal Areas and Section 14B of Foreigners Act, 1946.

In its complaint, LRO noted that the Australain pastor was found running a baptist church in Kushimkol, Williamnagar, Meghalaya, violating tourist visa rules.

LRO had also shared how his organization SIM had issued clarion calls to convert Hindus in Germany and Mauritius to Chritianity.

It has also been found that the Australian Christian preacher has at least in one instance shared stage with a surrendered former militant of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA).

LRO has requested the Home Ministry to launch a detailed investigation to establish any connection between the Christian missionaries and proscribed underground groups in the north-east region.
