ADMK Member Calls Out Film Director Lingusamy Over His Tweet Comparing Relief Efforts Of 2015 & 2023 Chennai Floods

As the city of Chennai crawls back to normalcy in the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung’s devastation, an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam member spotted Kollywood director Lingusamy’s tweet praising the “rescue efforts” of the Tamil Nadu government.

The ADMK member Prasath called up Lingusamy and said he noticed his post on social media platform X saying things were getting back to normal in Chennai. He added, Sir can you please come to Medavakkam and Velachery to see how the localities are suffering.

Lingusamy denied posting anything as claimed by Prasath and said, “Read it fully. I was in Thanjavur for the past 3 days. I saw all the news on TV. I arrived at the airport and went up to Valasarawakkam, those roads were fine.”

To this Prasath said, “Sir main roads are clear no doubt but have you any idea of the inner roads? People have not been able to buy even a packet of milk. People are suffering.”

To this Lingusamy replies, “I have written in my post that this should be taken care of.” Prasath interjects saying, “Having said this is better than 2015, what are you trying to convey?”

Lingusamy says, “What are you trying to say?” Prasath replies asking him to know the reality and then post such things on social media.

It is noteworthy that a majority of the Kollywood celebrities have been sitting mum with regard to the flooding situation in the city. A few of them have sent out SOS messages, a few questioned the government machinery. But the rest have been tightlipped or are praising the government.

Kamal Haasan even went to the extent of blaming the cyclone for hampering government’s efforts.
