Microblogging site Twitter again used its unilateral power and suspended the handles of the Legal Rights Observatory (@LegalLRO) and the Dalit Hindu Rights Group- the Dalit Positive Movement (@DalitPositive).
These two accounts were suspended after the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) which is an Islamist political party in Assam accused LRO of spreading false propaganda.
Two twitter accounts- Legal Rights Observatory- LRO and Voice of Assam that took lead in spreading the propaganda have been suspended. They have over 28,000 and 31,000 followers, respectively on Twitter.

However, following the Netizens’ uproar, Twitter was forced to restore the two suspended accounts. Both of these accounts have been a thorn on the side of pseudo-liberals for exposing conversion rackets and other anti-national groups.
Following the suspension of handles, the Kalinga Rights Forum wrote a letter to the Ministry of Electronics and IT and requested the office to issue orders to Twitter India to unblock handles of Legal Rights Observatory and Dalit Positive Movement and asked the government to issue summons as it directly violates Article 19 of Indian Constitution.
It had also demanded the office to consider banning Twitter operations in India. “Twitter has become detrimental to ‘NATIONAL SECURITY’ because of its support to Pro Terror groups”, the email read.
“Legal Rights Observatory and Dalit Positive Movement are both Hindu Human Rights Legal groups who fight for rights of Hindus and raise voice against adversaries of India legally. Thus Twitter India banning Hindu Human Rights legal groups Legal Rights Observatory and Dalit Positive Movement has endorsed its support to Anti India and terrorist groups who are working against India”, it added.
Following the lift on the ban, LRO tweeted, “Truth Triumphs over #Bangladeshi Broker’s propaganda We n @DalitPositive are back! @BadruddinAjmal @AIUDFOfficial #Turkish terror funding case inquiry by @NIA_India awaits you!”

A few days back Twitter had deleted the account of Francois Gautier, a French journalist who has lived in India for decades. Twitter also suspended the account of Rashmi Sawant who became the first women from Asia to be elected as President of the Oxford student union. Later her account was activated.
