In a heartwarming departure from previous Dravidianist regime, the Joseph Vijay government seems to have taken note of Hindus in Tamil Nadu and made it a point to wish them for the festivals.
This was seen first during Krishna Jayanti that was celebrated on 4 September 2026. On the CMOT handle on X, the message shared was, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Jayanthi, a day that fills homes and hearts with joy. Let us create a better world where love and righteousness flourish, guided by high moral principles and the teachings of Sri Krishna—that righteousness triumphs over injustice, that one must steadfastly fulfill one’s duties regardless of the circumstances, and that the journey of life should be pursued with determination and faith along the path of Dharma.”

This was welcomed by Hindus across the state and beyond too.
Dravidianists and other naysayers called out the government for taking a step away from their secular credentials.
Despite that opposition and backlash from the so called seculars, the Joseph Vijay government has once again wished Hindus in Tamil Nadu for the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival on 14 September 2026.
In a post on the CMOT handle, the message said, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi. May all good deeds initiated on this day be successfully fulfilled through the grace of Lord Vinayaga; may new hopes blossom, and may happiness, peace, and prosperity abound in every family! May the aspirations of the people be realized, and may all endeavors proceed on the path to success!”
