After getting cooked by a young Times of India journalist and a former anti-corruption officer, DMK’s pannaiyar PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan was roasted even more by journalists.
Freelance journalist Siddharth Prabhakar praised Omjasvin of Times of India for calling out PTR and the DMK’s corrupt rule without fear. He wrote, “By bravely taking @ptrmadurai on,
@omjasvinMD is doing something which top journalists in English media are either scared or unwilling to do, worried that he may stop talking to them. Yet again it’s taken a GenZ to teach the basics of bravery to the millennials and boomers.”

Responding to this, PTR attempting to look brave wrote, “I’m glad he “took me on” long enough to reveal that he doesn’t even know how to read/interpret an Audit paragraph🤦🏼♂️Why don’t you step up and cite some random paragraph or report to let me expose your ignorance also? I will never talk to you anyway, so you have nothing to lose”

It is noteworthy that PTR had not responded to Omjasvin’s questions on the CAG report which flagged thousands of crores of money diverted to PD accounts in the Smart City project during PTR’s tenure.
Taking a swipe at PTR, Siddharth Prabhakaran shared a clipping of a film where the hero cries out of fear in a comedic fashion roasting PTR.
Sharing the video, he wrote, “Sir, sir, @ptrmadurai, sir. Please don’t avoid me sir, please talk to me sir. I’m very scared sir.”

Ultimately, PTR’s attempt to turn the exchange into a display of his own expertise appears to have backfired, with journalists and commentators continuing to mock his refusal to directly address the CAG findings.
