Sri Lanka: School started for Hindu students in Araly

The ‘Rudra Sena’ is an organisation that works towards the benefit of Hindus in Sri Lanka. The organisation has currently opened a Moral school in Araly area, on the day of Thai Pongal (14th Jan), in order to teach Hindu students. Formal classes of the school has been initiated today and almost 60 Hindu students are attending. During the opening ceremony of the school, the students were also provided the required materials for learning.

This village, which is home to a lot of Hindu children, formerly had a school. Then, for some reasons, the school was closed. But, it has now been reopened for the benefit of the students. At present, Rudra Sena has appointed three teachers to conduct classes, and the organisation has currently taken responsibility for their monthly salaries. The organisation’s executive say that imparting religious knowledge from a very young age, not only ensures that they become good citizens, but also helps them escape proselytizing traps.
