PR Sundar, an Indian-born Tamil Dravidianist, Singapore citizen and stockbroker, has been booked by the Chennai Police following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman news anchor.
The FIR has been registered under five sections, including provisions relating to sexual harassment, the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Atrocities against Women Act, and criminal intimidation. Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
According to the complaint, Sundar sexually harassed the complainant under the pretext of a work-related routine, and allegedly locked her inside the office for three hours, during which he threatened her.
The complaint also names Sundar’s wife, alleging that she acted in support of him during the incident. A case has been registered against her as well on this basis.

Who Is P R Sundar? The ‘Finfluencer’ With a Widening Track Record
P R Sundar built his name as one of India’s most followed financial influencers — a self-styled options trading guru with a large online following. But behind the persona of hard-won trading wisdom sits a track record – regulatory, personal, and political that has repeatedly drawn scrutiny.
In May 2023, Sundar became the first major Indian finfluencer to face serious enforcement action from the Securities and Exchange Board of India. SEBI found that Sundar, his firm Mansun Consultancy, and his co-promoter had been running paid stock advisory services through a blog prsundar.blogspot.com, collecting fees through a payment gateway, without the mandatory SEBI Investment Advisor registration. To settle the case, they agreed to disgorge over ₹6.07 crore in fees and interest, pay a further ₹46.8 lakh in settlement charges, and accepted a one-year ban from dealing in Indian securities – without admitting guilt, as is standard in SEBI settlements. Separately, Moneycontrol reported that Sundar and his co-promoter each held two Director Identification Numbers, a violation of the Companies Act.
Sundar has also built a reputation for volatile public behaviour. In November 2022, after a user questioned him over heavy trading losses, he responded with a tweet widely branded the “most vulgar tweet of the year” by India’s financial community – a response he defended as merely speaking the “language of the trolls.” He had invoked a child’s virginity.

More recently, during a flood relief crisis, he posted a donation appeal alongside an advertisement for his “cheapest options course ever,” using the same payment channels for both, causing outrage among followers and accusations of exploiting a humanitarian crisis for course sales.
In April 2025, Sundar seemed to have a problem with India’s actions against terrorism, especially in the wake of the horrific 22 April Pahalgam terror attacks. Sundar aligns himself with leftist narratives in the country, pushing the “terror has no religion” rhetoric, and shamelessly implicates both the Indian Army and the Central Government for the attack.
